Reply indicator not showing in Mail

I am using an iPhone connected to an Exchange 2007 server. On myt mac I am running Snow Leopard and have my mail connected to Exchange as well. The mail syncs just fine, but the one thing that I noticed is that when I respond to an email from my iphone my mail on my computer doesn't show a reply arrow. Is there any way to sync this so I know what emails I have responded to?

No, there's not. The replied/forwarded tag on the Exchange server is not used by the iPhone's Mail app. I have the same issue with my Exchange account (which I access via Outlook). Apple will need to implement use of that tag. WinMob phones can do it, so it's up to Apple to follow suit.
You can submit feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.

  • TS3276 Sent emails not showing in mail?

Hi All. My sent items are not showing in my sent folder after i have sent an email. They are 100% being sent and received but just not showing on mail on my mac. They are showing on my iphone though.
    Any ideas?

Me too - any ideas - this is very irritiating as anyone would surely want to see all sent messages on the iMac.

  • Why doesn't my "notes" show within mail sidebar since the Maverick update?

Why doesn't my "notes" show within mail sidebar since the Maverick update?

Doing it over Wifi?  I was having the same issue.  I restarted my router and voila.

  • IPhone e-mail reply often does not show in Mail on desktop.

This is a problem that I have been experiencing for a long time, at least over a year.
On my iPhone 4 and 4S and Mac's, I use an iCloud (mac.com / me.com) e-mail and a business e-mail, both IMAP accounts. When I send a reply to a business e-mail, and I try to look it up later on in Mail on my Mac, the little reply-arrow shows but I get a error message. Mail cannot find the replied message and suggest that I could have deleted it. No such thing!has a negative
Why does it happen (this way my business e-mail history on the desktop is incomplete) and how can the problem be solved? Anybody?

Who is your email provider? (for the business account)
Do you have access to Web-mail for your busuness account? Are the messages present on the server?
What did your IT department say about it?

  • Email sent from Nexus 4 not showing in Mail client

Going from an iPhone to an Android device has it's own issues, but one that shouldn't be an issue is that of IMAP emails.
In replying to any email from the Nexus 4, it will not be available to view in Apple's Mail client, which I use for all 5 of my email accounts.  It will show in Mail that the email has been replied to with the arrow on the left of the email, but it will not allow me to click on the arrow to see the email I sent.  It gives me an error message, 'Mail was unable to find your reply to the message "email subject title". You may have deleted the message'.  Nope, I didn't delete the message, but now I can't see it.  This is a very crucial missing element for business reply emails.  My compnay uses GMail servers for all it's mail, so it's not a me.com email issue specifically.  Funny enough, that email account set up the easiest.  It doesn't show messages sent from the Nexus 4 either, but I'm sure it's all part of the same problem.
Is anyone else having this same/similar issue?
    Thanks for the help, Bruce.

For Exchange GMail there is a way to set your iOS device to use a different "Send As" name than when using a computer.  Unfortunately in your case, you can set your computer to send an alternate name but the iOS device can only send the default GMail name, which is the name associated with your account.  Ideally, you would like your iOS device to use the alternate and let your computer use the default.
But if you want to play around with this ...
1- On the iOS device itself, use Safari to navigate to m.google.com/sync.  You will have to log in at the prompt with your GMail account info.
2- Select the iOS device name (in case you have multiple iOS devices using Google sync).
3- Select "Enable 'Send Mail As' for this device" and Save the changes.
4- Using a computer, log into your GMail account and select Settings/ Accounts and Import, then at the "Send mail as" prompt select "edit info" (off to the right).
    5- Change your outgoing name.
The name you specify in #5 will be used by your computer, but the iOS device will continue using the original (default) outgoing name.  You can see why you need the opposite in your case, so unless you can change the default to be your wife's name and then set the alternate to be your name, I think you're out of luck.

  • Gif not showing in mail

Didn't know if others were having this problem. Lately I have been receving emails with gif's - some animate, some not - but they don't show in the message. What does show is "plugi-in not installed". Now, if I go under "Quck Look Attachments" the gif' open, and they are opened in the message as well.
Oddly enough, when I send messages to myself the gif's do appear.

Perhaps you can tell me how to restore my old emails from my old email account.
If you moved your backup folder for that account (not the entire Mail folder) into the Home/Library/Mail folder, the next thing you need to do is launch Mail and setup that Gmail account again. But before you can do that, you need to login to the Gmail web interface and change your password to something secure (something that cannot be guessed, preferably at least 27 characters long and using a string of random characters). I use 1Password to generate these, but you could also use LastPass, which is free.
If you don't use one of those password managers, copy the new password, paste it into a Sticky Note or TextEdit and save it.
After you've done that, then setup the Gmail account in Mail again, and after you've done that, Mail will import the existing messages again, and sync them with Gmail.
Where do you think the password was stolen from?  The email server or my computer?
It wasn't stolen at all; it was just too easy to guess using standard hacking tools. That's why you have to use secure passwords that can't be guessed.

  • Unread and read mail not showing in Mail after upgrading to Yosemite

    Hi there,
    I recently upgraded to Yosemite.
In the Mail app, mail is not showing up properly. I have unread mail, which is not showing up, despite me refreshing or sorting by unread first, and even an email I read this morning on Chrome isn't showing up, as you can see by screenshots.
How do I fix this issue?

    Hi,
In Mail > Mailbox dropdown menu, try clicking on Rebuild at the bottom.

  • Why is my to-do list not showing in mail

I have watched tutorial on setting up to-do lists in Mail but my mail application is not show To-Do only notes and flagged are showing under the reminders heading.  How can I fix this?

Only my computer hard drive is and I want to import from an external drive.  I have always been able to until I updated to Aperture 3.6 and Yosemite.
I had the same problem. On the folders on the drive with the Aperture library did show in the Import panel. After I clicked the computer icon in the upper left corner of the Import panel, suddenly all drives appeared.
You can also try to drag the folder you want to import into the Import panel, to point the file chooser to the drive.

  • Images not showing in Mail, just generic JPG icon...

I have this problem with Mail (v3.6, Leopard 10.5.8) not displaying images in html messages anymore. The problem is mostly with the emails i'm sending. Back on Tiger, you could drag and drop an image and it would show inline right there where your cursor would be in the message. Now it goes at the bottom, showing the generic Preview.app JPG icon with the name and size of the file underneath the icon. If I try to compose a message using on of Apple's stationaries, half of the images are not showing, instead once again giving me the generic icon. I do have the option of displaying HTML images turned on in the prefs. A picture is worth a thousand words, so here it is :
    http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/25424/mail_problem.jpg
If I send this to friends, half of them get a correct looking email while the other half gets missing images where the original image was showing as an icon for me. Trying to save the email message as a PDF will have missing images too.
    What's going on here? Thanks!!!

Same problem here. Some background images show up, top, bottom and corner images not. Opening the 'content.html' file in Safari: no problem.
    No idea what's going on.

  • Exchange 2007 not showing all mails

There are a lot of mails within folder not shown within apple mai! I connect with the Exchange 2007 setting and it just does not sync well. I tried Exchange IMAP which works, but lead to different problem like having a separate 'Sent' folder!
If I check those folders with OWA ord Outlook I'v got hundrets of mails. Even my iPhone shows all mails! But Apple Mail doesn't.
The Syncing of Exchange 2007 with Mail is broken! We are three people working with it (all software developers) and there are so many problems...
i.e. renaming folders if you have the option 'keep mails and attachments' set and several people are using the same account for archiving mails within project folders...

I removed now the whole mail profile (the folder with finder). I added the account again and still I'v got folders which just show mails up to december 2009. That's **** for us.
I have no way of 'resyncing' the folder...

  • Sent emails do not show in Mail

Please - I have posted this question before, but it really annoys me - is it possible that it's only me with this problem?
When I send emails with attachments, jpg-files filed in my iPhoto, the emails just do not show up in my Sent mailbox. It reaches the recipient, however, so I have to send a copy to myself.
    Anyone, please HELP!!
PS. I have checked every possible setting both with my email supplier- Virginmedia.com (google) - and with Mail and iPhoto.
    Happy holidays

  • New Notes Not Showing in Mail Window

I think i'm going crazy, but I know i am not, and it's something simple, but i can't figure it out!
I use Mail Notes and also sync them with my Blackberry.
I can edit notes in Mail on my computer, and the edits show up on the phone and in Mail.
But, a new note does not show up in Mail (on the computer), but does on the phone when synced.
    I hope i've been clear.
    i appreciate any help!

I'm having the same issue. No emails after April 21 are showing in the inbox. If I go to the get account info page you can see the emails and it even says they are downloaded, but they are not showing up in the inbox.
    Any suggestions?

  • TS3276 Inbox issues - not showing some mail

I have two accounts in my "Inbox".  Mail marked "important" does not show up in "Inbox" but does show in Gmail folder.  Sometimes regular emails do the same.  How can I get all mail to show up in the "Inbox"?  Thx.

  • Mail not showing in mail box

For three days, I was not receiving any email.  I talked to my email provider and they found that my email was being forwarded to another unknown account.  I called that email provider and learned that the email address supposedly receiving my emails has not been in service since 2004. My email provider has stopped forwarding my email to the bogus account. I have created my own gmail account and now have my email fowarded to the new gmail and have deleted my old account from my mac.  HOWEVER, I now see email activity in the lower left corner of the mail window saying messages are being sent and received--in large numbers, but they are not showing up anywhere on my mac.  When I compare what I am receiving in my mac mail account to what is on the gmail server, they all match up.  Why I am getting this activity? Where would it be coming from?

Perhaps you can tell me how to restore my old emails from my old email account.

  • Why are MobileMe Sent messages not showing in Mail?

On one Intel iMac, messages sent do not show up on the other Intel iMac, both running Snow Leopard 10.6.7.  This just started happening recently.  Also, although there are a few thousand messages in the Sent Mailbox in MobileMe,, only 300+ appear in the Sent Mailbox on that first iMac.  Rebuilding the mailbox has no effect.  Any ideas?

What type of email accounts are they? IMAP or POP.
IMAP leaves messages on the server so you can get them from everywhere.
With POP, messages are downloaded to your client and then removed from the server, depending on your settings.
The iDevice setup for POP doesn't remove them from the server.
I think Mail's default setup for POP is to remove immediately.
If they are POP accounts, you can set Mail's preferences to leave messages on the server for a period of time so that you can retrieve them on multiple clients.
