Replying to messages in thread view replies to the first message
I have set Mail so that I see messages in threads together with other related messages (across mailboxes).
However, when I try to reply to a message using ctrl-R, by deafult Mail replies to the oldest message, rather than the newest one.
Any idea why this may happen?

That is not the way it behaves for me. I just tested it by selecting a "conversation" and hitting command-R, and it replied to the newest message. Are you using the classic layout (like Mail in Snow Leopard) or the new Lion layout?
If you're using the Lion layout, note that clicking anywhere in a message in the conversation will select that message, and then replies go to that message instead. Selection is subtle, but you can tell a message is selected from a blue "glow" around the edges of the message and the number in the upper right corner of the message turns blue.

Displayed message in threaded view
I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to change which email is displayed as the "display message" in threaded view - that is, looking at my inbox, the message from the thread that is displayed in my inbox.
The default view is to show the oldest unread message. I can't think of a reason that I'd want to see that one. What I'd much rather see is the most recent message, read or unread; or at least, the most recent unread message.
Is there a setting I haven't found? I've looked through all of the mail settings I can find and none of them seem to include anything like that.Same issue. Would love to have the most recent e-mail first. The current set up is useless to me

When I send a group txt and one of the reciepients replies it creates a new message. How do I keep all the replies in the same message?
If you think getting your web pages to appear OK in all the major browsers is tricky then dealing with email clients is way worse. There are so many of them.
If you want to bulk email yourself, there are apps for it and their templates will work in most cases...

When starting a Lync group message from a Mac, anyone else using a Mac cannot see the first message.
When a group conversation is started from a Mac, any other Mac user will not see the first message unless they reply to the message immediately. Here's what I've tested:
Mac User 1 starts a group conversation with 4 people invited.
Mac User 2 sees the popup but does not immediately open the conversation window.
PC User 1 opens the conversation window and sends a reply.
PC User 2 opens the conversation window and sees all the text.
Mac User 2 finally opens the window about 30 seconds later and can see all text except the first message.
Why does the first message disappear for Mac User 2?
Note: This does not happen if the original message was started from a PC, in that case Mac User 2 would be able to see the first message.

Did the issue happen only for single Mac computer or for multiple computers?
Please try to login Lync client on another Mac computer with the same Lync account and test again.
Please also try to login Lync client on the issued Mac computer with other Lync account and test again.
Please check if the Lync client on Mac computer update to the latest version, if not, please update to the latest version.

In two page view preview shows the first page on its own
In two page view preview shows the first page on its own. I have recently downloaded an ebook which has image based tutorials and the pages are in such a way that pages 3 and 4 should be seen next to each other. Preview seems to want to have pages 1 on its own therefore making this rather difficult. Any help on resolving this issue would be appreciated.
Try selecting the first page, and then from the "Edit" menu select "insert blank page". This should put a blank page at the beginning of the document, shifting all pages down one and putting them in the order you want for your display.

MQSeries---to remove the first message from queue

I have some question in MQSeries in Sun Solaris.
I would like to ask if there are any command in runmqsc that can remove the first message only? I know the command 'CLEAR QLOCAL' but it removes all the messages inside the queue but not only the first one.

on my windows XP pro PC i opened windows migration assistant and the first message is: "Cannot start Outlook Express. The application can not initialize the storage. The computer doesn't have enough memory or your disk is full. (0x80007114)"
On my windows PC outlook express is NOT running and as far as i know, NOT installed.

My LG G3 has stopped receiving email from my pop3 road runner account. It just has an "updating" message. It worked fine for the first two weeks and nothing now. Any advice?

I have an iPhone5. I updated to iOS7. Now I cannot edit my messages. I have to delete the whole message string like in iPhone 1. What has gone wrong?
Thanks it resloved my question, but Apple has made it more complicated it was so much easier to just press the edit button and select messages to be deleted. Now its cumbersome to delete several messages. Apple should give us back the edit button.

How can I make new messages in threaded view to be more visible?
In threaded view when a new message arrives the thread is underlined. Is there a way to make this more visible with color? This is really important as I tend to miss the new messages because I do not see the underline very well.
ThanksHow about View|Folders|Unread? That will at least reduce the amount of stuff you have to work through. Probably not useful if you aren't moving messages to folders by means of filters.
Or the QuickFilter, which has an "Unread" filter option. See the attached image.
Or you could create a Saved Search folder for unread messages.
You can set up code to tweak the colours but it's rather techie and not trivial to do. -
Downloaded iSO 7.0.2 and now I'm not receiving replies to my text messages. I've tested it with someone standing next to me, their phone shows their reply sent and my phone gets nothing. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? Thanks in advance
Try the following:
Go to Settings > Messages > iMessages > disable
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
let it do it's thing and reset.
Then go to Settings > Messages > iMessages > enable
You'll then have to go back to your Wifi and re-enter your router credentials.
