Replying To Messages On Phone

I use .Mac for mail on my phone. Is there anyway to reply to a message without including the original message in the reply? On my computers I don't have that option selected but I can't find anywhere on the phone to select or deselect that option.
John

No such option is available with the iPhone's Mail client - at the present time anyway.

I bought an iPhone 5 in Dubai as an unlocked phone. When I arrived in my country, I discovered that it was blocked. What can I do, as Dubai's store doesn't reply my messages?

When you say the iPhone was blocked, do you actually mean it is locked to a carrier, or do you really mean the iPhone is blocked from use?
Thie is the second post from someone buying an iPhone in Dubai and then having problems with it and with support.
If you cannot get the seller to respond, try contacting Apple support at the appropriate number from http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 and see if they have any help to offer.
Warranties on iPhones are only valid in the country of sale so any support will really require returning to Dubai, or sending the iPhone to someone in Dubai to handle it for you...Apple will not accept shipments from another country.

  • How to setup reply with message

how to setup the "reply with message" feature on the iphone5

This feature is automatically enabled on the iPhone 5. When you get a call you will see the "swipe up" icon next to the "slide to answer", when you sail up you will have the option to reply with text message.
There are only three messages to choose from but you can change them at Settings > Phone > Reply with message > you can then overwrite the existing text options.

  • How to disable reply with message

I find that I constantly reject calls when I pick up my iPhone because the "Reply with message" screen is touched before I can find the "Answer" button.  I can't find a setting to turn off the "Reply with message" "feature" only to change the message.  How do I get rid of this annoying "feature?"

I have had the same problem. Last week, I actually responded with "what's up" to a client!  It was horrifying and embarassing and I had to perfusely apologize. How unprofessional. A lot of consulting firms are starting to use iPhones, so Apple had better get a fix for this quick.
Has anyone found a way to disable this?
I have only found one solution: to put a password on my phone, and then go to settings -> general -> passlock -> reply with message OFF. Is there a way to do this without having to add a passcode?

  • Problems with replying to messages 6210 navigator

I have the 6210 navigator and when I reply to messages that are in my inbox and then press send (no i do not save them I send them)  They - at random - go into my drafts box. Its very frustrating as I think I have replied to my messages and then figure out after a few days that half my messages aren't going. This has happened since I go the phone.
This has never happened on any other phone and no one in customer care has a clue? Anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?

Are you always in area with sufficient network coverage like a subway or in a forest or..... when you send? In fact the answer is very easy: just check if the message is sent.

  • The new Reply with Message or Reminde me Later options are not showing on iPhone 3GS after upgrade to ios 6

I just upgraded 2 iPhone 3GS to ios 6 and on neither one is there an option to "Reply With Message" or "Remind Me Later" when there is an incoming call. There is no little phone icon (like the camera one on the lock screen) that you can drag up to expose the new options. Is there something more that needs to be done to enable these features? I tried changing the 3 canned messages from the settings but with the same result. From what I read this is suppose to be available on iPhone 3GS

Swiping up does nothing, the options do not appear. I tried swiping up all over the screen when a call comes in and nothing. The incoming call screen looks identical to how it appeared in ios 5. My understanding was that with ios 6 there is supposed to be a little phone icon in the bottom right hand corner (similar to the camera icon on the lock screen) appear on the incoming call screen and you swip up on this icon to reveal the options. This icon is not shown on the incoming call screen on either phone.

  • Reply by message instead of taking a call - automatically sends as iMessage?

I like the new reply by message feature when someone calls you and you can't answer it. But my phone keeps sending them automatically as iMessages, even to contacts who aren't on iPhones. Normally when I'm sending texts to these people they don't go as iMessages, it's only happening with the reply feature. Any ideas? Is it a bug?

Your iPhone detail provided is 3G and 6.1.3.
6.1.3 is not supported with the 3G. With the 3GS and up.
Send as SMS is available as an option with iOS 6 and iMesssge.

  • "reply with message" feature should be re-designed

I think the "reply with message" feature is great BUT, there are 2 big BUTs:
1- I am Turkish, living in French speaking part of Switzerland. Most of my friends who call me either speak Turkish or French. When I use the reply with message feature, it ALWAYS starts with Apple pre-selected line "can't talk right now". I don't know who came up with this, but obviously the specific person must be thinking that the world speaks English ONLY! (even if the person I reply with "reply with message" speaks English, starting the message with English and the rest (customizable part) in French looks really ugly.
2- when the phone rings I can see who is calling but I don't see from which number the call is from. It can be a mobile number or a fixed line. So, if I were to use "reply with message" feature, I don't know if my message will reach the caller. I can only check that by going back to the message app. And the worst is that message seems to be sent, even if it is sent to a fixed line number.
I think the "reply with message" feature must be re-designed from scratch.
Especially, the first problem is easy to fix.

  • How can I use Reply with Message?

I cannot figure out how to use the Reply with Message feature.  Can anyone lead me in the right direction?

    Hello,
When you receive a phone call from another phone that is able to send and receive text messages, you can see the phone icon on the bottom right side.  Tap it and slide up.  Then tap reply with message and choose the message you want to reply with.
    Cheers,

  • Reply with message function won't work on iPhone 4S

I have upgraded to ios6 on my 4S and I cannot get the reply with message function to work. I can see it in the settings and can change the default messages but when I get a call the only option that I get is answer or deny (no phone icon to the right of deny to swipe up to use the reply with mussage option). I have done multiple resets even back to as it came out of the box and it still doesn't show up. My wife is also expereincing the same issues on here iPhone 4 and I have contacted my service provider and they indicated that it should work on both phones.

Sometimes, in a givin market, FaceTime is not available.

  • How do I copy SMS messages from phone to memory ca...

After I change the option of saving the messages from phone memory to memory card on my E90, I don't see any of the messages stored on the previous choice in INBOX. This is ok, I understood this.. But.. How do I copy the messages from phone memory to memory card for example ? Reply pls..

I think I kind of solved this issue.. Try doing this. Copy all files from memory card to a back-up folder in your PC, after connecting the phone to the PC via 'Data Transfer Mode', by clicking CTRL+A while in Memory Card in Windows Explorer. (Doing this, you will also copy the hidden files, if you haven't clicked the option to view hidden files and folders in Windows Explorer). Afterwards, format the memory card via phone, or simply CTRL+A + Delete from explorer to fully erase the microSD card. In phone, messages, in other settings, choose phone memory to store SMS messages, and then.. tell a friend to send you an SMS message, or simply send one to yourself. After receiving the message, go back to settings->Other, save sms messages to:, choose Memory Card, and the phone should ask you, whether to move or not the original messages. If you choose to move them, and NOT to save the original messages, entire messages from phone should move to the memory card. (If you would have chosen to save the original messages, the mesages that you move, would STILL BE in the phone memory.) If you want to do this again, to move them from memory card back to phone memory, change the memory to save sms messages (and if at first you have chosen NOT to save original messages, the phone should 'ask' you again for the same question.)
And, btw, if you're probably curious.. (as I was ) where the messages were saved, in memory card, after the first time you copy the messages to memory card, check the memory card via 'Data Transfer' mode on your PC's Windows Explorer. I found them in the 'private' folder somewhere.. There should be a mail and mail2 folder there.. Also, the phone browsers, FExplorer, and Y-Browser won't be able to access the private folder. (For security reasons, bleah )
Afterwards you can copy all software folders, images, music files, documents, etc. from the backed-up memory card folder you created at the first steps, since we all know E90 is a smart cutie, and will automatically detect all files, software, etc., after you copy-paste them.
    Cheers, hope this helps

  • No "Reply With Message" option on iPhone 3GS after ios 6

I know this has been asked before, but there were no answers given . . . my 3GS has no "Reply With Message" option for incoming calls.  I've already done a reset, thinking something may have not completely carried over after upgrading to iOS 6, but it didn't change anything.
Anyone know how to get this option working???

You don't see the little phone in the lower right when a call comes in?
    You swipe that up...
