Suddenly I can't burn any turnes to disc. I receive an error report - 4280. What's the problem? It was all fine last week.
Additional information:
-also ran "Repair" with new download of iTunes
-am using the same spindle of CDs that worked perfectly a month ago. Tried another brand also to be safe. None worked.
-ran CD/DVD diagnostics within iTunes with Apple Care - no issues apparent
-also tried write-speed 20X on advice of Apple Care (don't know why they thought 20X would be the magic number after the other 3 I tried didn't work)
-tried running itunes in another user account on the computer - same problem, same error code
-Apple suggested it was a copyright issue. I can't even burn music that I created/recorded myself, so that doesn't make sense.
-They thought maybe Quicktime wasn't installed properly, so we checked a film in Windows Media - it played, meaning Quicktime was fine apparently.
Solution:
Unclicked CD text option & Sound Check, ran burn from the File drop down menu (max speed) on a Philips CD-R and it worked! Had been right clicking the playlist name and selecting Burn option from there. That being said, it did not work on 2 other brands prior, with same settings. Not sure why. Just happy it's working again. Is it a brand issue? -
Can I create a result set filter on a SSRS Report similar to what you can do in Excel?
Asking this question in a different way...I have my SSRS Result set. Now the Business User wants to filter down a 15-page report to what they want to specifically see....Sooo my result set has a list of claims. And now the Business User just wants to see
the list of claims by a certain Provider, which is also in the report. So I don't want to put that "filter" on the front-end...within the Stored Procedure that is producing the report because they want to see everything. Is there a way to make SSRS
intelligent enough to parameterize the back-end result set? Or do I need to do it the old fashioned way by allowing for an optional parameter, let them run their report, define the available values by a query similar to the stored procedure filtering, and
let them drill down that way?
I have tried playing around with Dataset filters and a parameter using the existing result set and existing Dataset, but I just cannot seem to get this to work the way I envision. If this entails creating a Function or Procedure within the SSRS, bring it
on...I'm willing to learn. And I do have some VBA experience...so I'm not intimidated.
Again...I apologize for the similar type question, but I felt the need to be a little more clear.
Thanks for your review and am hopeful for a reply.
PSULionRP
I GOT IT!!!
Followed the following...
Here's what I've put into my SSRS Knowledgebase...
Filters/Parameters on the Report Result Set
Request from the Business User to add "parameters" to the Report Result Set. Kind of like auto filtering you can do in Excel
Within the Report Design within Microsoft Visual Studio…
— Insert a new Dataset which is merely carving out the SQL from the working Report Stored Procedure and customizing the SQL for the DISTINCT values that you want
— Insert a NEW Parameter based on the carved out SQL
General → Allow blank value
Allow multiple values
Available Values → Get values from a query
Specify the previously created Dataset
Default Values → Get values from a query
Specify the previously created Dataset
— Insert a Filter back on the original Dataset that is used to create the Report
Expression → Choose the Report Detail Item column name
Operator → In
Value → Physically type in the Parameter Name created previously
Works EXACTLY as I had envisioned. Prompts for the From Date and Thru Date, runs the report, dynamically builds the "optional" parameters/filters,
and then allows the Busimess User to speify or drill down into the result set based on the dynamically built parameter drop-down list. -
Can anyone help me with this error report and explain what it means?
My computer shut down and restarted because of a problem. This is the error report but I have no idea what it means. Could someone help decipher it for me? Thank you!

Creating a Report to track what was invoiced for each month then quarter
I was wondering if anyone knew how to create a report adding up each month then adding it up by quarter. This is what i am working with:
Job: Invoice Date 1,2 ,3 and Invoice Amount 1, 2, 3
Job 2: Invoice Date 1, 2 and invoice amounte 1, 2
one job might have a invoice date with May as #1 and then # 2 is June when the next job could have 2 invoice dates in 1month.
the way i have the report set up currently it will take the final date and file it under that month then it will calculate all the amounts for the one month..;
does anyone have any ideas how to seperate the amounts? and maybe add the job to more then 1 month if needed based off the invoice date?I have tried to do that but the only problem is i have more then 1 invoice for some orders because we have shipped partial orders.
I have my search set up on invoice date 1, 2, and 3 but if a order has 2 deliverys invoice 1 is in the previous month it still calls it up because i have to include the field for the other orders and don't know how to tell it not to add that value into the specific month i want..
I don't know if i am making any since?
Thank you -
Crystal Reports Server XI - what files need to be backed up?
I don't want to set up a fail over cluster which there seems to be plenty of information on.
All I want to do is identify what files I need to backup incase I need to do a restore.
We use Tivoli Storage Manageru2019s backup and recovery solution for backups
Any help would be appreciated...Depends on the complexity of your deployment. Basically, your CMS DB and the FileStore directory are the only objects outside of the application itself that need to be backed up. The CMS DB contains all your security and links to reports, while the FileStore contains all the reports and instances themselves. You want to have the backups of these synchronized, so that you limit the number of report links that point to nothing, or have reports in your FileStore that have no links to them.
Other than that, if you have made modifications to your deployment to allow for LDAP/AD authentication, modification to server properties to adjust timeouts or orther parameters, etc you should have these documented so that they can be reaccomplished.
If you have the CMS DB and the FileStore, you can reinstall, point to the CMS DB, point to the FileStore, and be back up and running.
Those Tivoli backups should not be run on the entire installation volume while the system is up and processing scheduled reports. You will see the backup program report errors, as temp files are being created/destroyed, and executables will be locked. It may still run successfully with errors, but it may also cause issues with the report processing and stability of your system. Depends on how busy it is - it could still run successfully if it's quiet. Recommended best practice is to stop services, backup, start services. -
Hi,
I am Oracle Apps HRMS Technical Consultant.
I wanted to know,if we can implement Digital Signatures in XML Reports for Oracle Apps HRMS 11i Aplication.
If yes, what is the approach to do so.
Your quick response is appreciated.
Regards,
Aasma Sayyad.Hi Aasma,
The standard BI Publisher is part of EBS applications.
Most of the EBS reports(R12) are based on BI Publisher.
If you check the responsibility 'XML Publisher Administrator' you will see all the templates used in the application.
Your technical team should already know this.
On the other hand OBIEE would need separate licences.
But for you BI Publisher would do.

Any report to see what are the users assigned to an org-unit ?

Data Source Data Block (REPORT) property. What for?
Hi,
I've seen this property in the report object, but I've never seen it used anywhere.
It lets you chose one of your blocks, but I have no idea what use is this and online help doesn't help, as it goes with this description:
For report/form integration, specifies the data block to be used as the source of the report as either Null or a block name.
What is this for? Thanks, but, could you elaborate a bit?
Supose I've got an emp tabular form. Then I have a report with this feature. What do I "see" from the report side? -

Crystal 2008 - Report Index Bursting, what is this?
The help in CR defines it as this, but could someone please elaborate.
"The Saved Data Indexes dialog box appears when you select the Report Bursting Indexes command from the Report menu.
Use this dialog box to select the fields you want indexed within your report's saved data. You can increase the performance of a Crystal report by indexing its saved data. Indexes you specify are created when you refresh the report's data."
We have some reports that are timing out, will this help?Hello,
It may help but with reports with saved data only. What it does is some DB's and tables are not indexed for optimum reporting and if those tables are used as the report data source CR has to do the indexing which can affect performance. What the function does is build a saved data field index so when previewed the report can render the reports pages quicker.
For your issue though I doubt this will help as it would appear your problem is CR is waiting for your data to come from the database.
Some Options would be for you to add indexing to your DB or possibly using a Stored Procedure or something server side to speed up the data collection process and do most of the filtering server side rather than client side.
No info about your data source to go on so not sure what the issue may be.
Thank you

Create report to check what software were installed from which BDP
Hi,
I need assistance to create a report that shows which software were installed from which BDP. How would one go about doing this?
Thank you in advanceThe best you can probably do is the opposite of your request. Specifically, using the IIS logs on the DP at the central location (assuming that's you topology), you can determine which systems are using the central DP which essentially also tells you which
ones are not using it (this assumes you are actually using a BITS enabled DP at the central location also). With BDPs in the mix, I don't think that there's any tracking whatsoever on the BDP itself because that essentially normal SMB traffic.
A better option is to get the network team involved although that probably won't be definitive either because the clients still need to traverse the WAN to communicate with the MP and WSUS instance.
