Report 10g in Web Layout

I've configured forms and reports server 10g. Forms are working fine. However report is not running in web layout. I'm getting the following error message in web browser.
Reports Error Page
Thu Jul 19 14:33:14 IST 2007
javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: REP-50002: Server is shutting down
Reports are running in Paper layout.
Can anybody help me about this?

Ok,
first of all are you running your reports on the iAS or OC4J of iDS?
second are you running on windows or linux or unix ...
if running on iAS are you trying to run your report with the in-report server?
If so create your own standalone report server and integrate it in your iAS console with the addNewTarget command
Message indicates that your reports server is not running smoothly , can you access your ias admin console?

  • Running reports 10g in web

    hi
    i am trying to run a report from the web
    i get the error 'UNABLE TO CONNECT TO REPORT SERVER XXX'
    in 6i on the console it works correctly
    i want to know if there is a different way to run a report in web 10g, is it necessary to run a report server, or i can like in 6i just configure the registry?
    thanks for any help

    Hello,
    Since 9.0.2, you have to start a reports server :
    On Windows rwserver server=repserver
    then use a URL like :
    http://server:port/reports/rwservlet?server=repserver&report=test&destype=cache&desformat=html

  • Supporting drilldowns in BIP reports defined in Web Layout Template Editor

    Hi Experts,
    We have a requirement to show a table in a BIP Report defined in a web layout template editor and within this report, if there is drilldown on one of the columns, we would want to display more details in an additional column to be displayed afresh. Also, we have a requirement to display the same whenever there is a selection from a report prompt. In addition, is such a drill down feasible from within a graph? Is this achievable? We know this is feasible in OBIEE - not sure about BIP. Any pointers in this direction is appreciated!

    Hi Sripathy, I can't thank you enough for the help !!! We looked for all kinds of documentation and was never able to find exact information.
    Also, do you mind if we email you if we run into more problems ? We are new to this. If you think it's ok, my email is [email protected] If not, thanks again, at least this will get me started.

  • How to deploy the Oracle Forms and Reports 10g in Web?

    Currently I am working in Oracle forms & Reports conversion project (6i to 10g).
    As of now 6i forms working as a standalone application. After migrated it to 10g, I need to deploy the forms and reports in web.
    Any one know how to deploy the Oracle forms and Reports in web?
    Please help me out. Thanks in advance.
    Vimal

    Hello Frank,
    for development, you need to install Oracle Developer
    Suite 10g. This includes Forms and Reports.this topic interests me too, because I've downloaded Developer Suite and Database (both for 10g) from Oracle website, installed them, but I couldn't connect to a database.
    What should be done for me to create a database link and be able to connect locally, in my personal Desktop computer? (Not to a server)
    Once it was told me here that I should download 10g Database - I did it, and installed it, but it didn't work. Later, some of my job partners said I should install them in a sequence - that is, 1st the Developer, and 2nd the Database. But it has failed too. And I don't know how to configure a database connection.
    Best regards,

  • Report 10g R 2 layout issue

    Hi Friend, i moved an rep into the server and all report layout format in the whole application changes. All reports layout in our testing environment is messed up. Please help.

    All numeric values are coming out as asteriks '*'This usually happens when there is not enough space to show the value. The font on the server may be slightly bigger, OR you just have bigger numbers in your test environment compared to development. Try making the field a bit wider.

  • Report Web Layout

    I am using Oracle 9iDS Report Builder
    I have built a report that is supposed to generate data in Arabic. Once i generate it as a paper layout the characters, whether the numbers or letters, are displayed correctly.
    The PROBELM is when i run the report as a WEB LAYOUT, the arabic letters only are displayed in English, not as fuzzy characters, normal English characters as the ones i am writing now, only they are capital and include brackets (, or ).
    There is no problem with the browser language settings, as it runs web pages in arabic. Also, i have set the NLS_LANG to the arabic.
    Notice that when i run the same forms in Arabic in retrieves and accepts arabic characters correctly.

    iam facing the same problem as
    I'm using Report Builder 9.0.0.0.33, Oracle Developer Suite10g 9.0.4.0.1, Oracle Database 10g Release 2, and NLS_Lang is American_America.AR8MSWIN1256
    I have two problems
    1- I have a report which retrieve data from database, these data contains Arabic words. Arabic characters can display properly on Paper Layout. However, when I run report on Web Layout, Arabic characters are changed to ?????? characters
    2- When I make a new report and change in its prosperities like format mask, fonts, and color, these changes can display properly on Paper Layout. However, when I run report on web Layout, these effects doesn't appear at all.

  • How to call the JSP(Web layout) instead of paper layout...

    Hi,
    Iam using Reports 10g. I have created a simple employees report. I have added a listbox in the jsp page by adding small Html and javascript code like below.
    <form action="http://www.wwt.com/reports/rwservlet?10000_reports_listing&p_extranet=p_extranet" name="First" method="post">
    <select name="p_extranet" onChange="First.submit()" >
    <rw:foreach id="RGSOURCE" src="G_SOURCE">
    <rw:getValue id="mysource" src="SOURCE"/>
    <option value=""><%= mysource %>
    </rw:foreach>
    </select>
    </form>
    When I run this report in the report builder as Web layout, Listbox is displayed with values inside.
    But when I move it to Apps server and run it through URL,
    listbox is disappeared. I think report is running the Paper layout instead of weblayout ??????????
    Could you please tell me what is the problem and How to force the Weblayout or JSP to run ?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    You are running a jsp report through rwservlet. In this case paper layout will be displayed. You have to deploy your jsp as web report to get the web layout. Please refer to the doc below, which describes how to deploy the web report.
    http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/html/B10314_01/pbr_run.htm#1011901
    To run the jsp report, URL may look like
    http://www.wwt.com/reports/<jsp name>?<parameter list>
    Hope this helps

  • Running in Web Layout

    Hello,
    I created the Oracle 9i report as .RDF file, selecting to print both web and paper layout. The paper layout runs fine.
    However, when running a Web Layout from Reports Builder - I get a blank Internet Explorer page, and nothing else. Can you please suggest what I need to do in order for the proper information to be displayed?
    I appreciated.
    Slava

    Hello Slava,
    The output you see when running to web from Reports Builder is controlled by the web source of your report. Please take a look at your web source and confirm whether that the reports JSP tags are indeed present to fetch the data and format the web output.
    Also, note that if you want to deploy your report using its web layout, you would need to save it as a JSP, as only JSPs can be deployed directly over the web.
    RDF files can be run over the web only using rwservlet, and doing so will cause the output to be formatted using the report's paper layout instead of it's web layout.
    Thanks,
    The Oracle Reports Team.

  • Problem with "Run Web Layout" using own template

    When I run a report (using Run Web Layout) which uses my own template (a modified version of rwblue.tdf), it outputs a plain page on the browser (as though it has no template).
    When running the same report (using Run Paper Layout), the output is as it should be.
    Can anyone help? Thank you in anticipation.

    Hi John
    Take a look at Reports product site on otn site. It has an example on how to create a web template for Reports Web View. In addtion to tdf file, for web layout, you need to have a .css file as well as a html code template.
    Hope this will help.
    Thanks

  • Paper or web layout which is better to use?

    Hi again,

  • How to show web layout reports from 10g forms

    Hi all ! When I try to open a report file with extension .jsp from a Form using web.show document() or run_report_object() only paper layout is showing on the screen so how I display a web layout from a form with proper documentation or design. Again why only data is showing on the screen without line,ractangle and other documentation but when I run the same report from report builder It is showing all on the screen.Please help how to resolve this. Please provide some proper code or way to solve this.
    Thanks & regards
    Sanjit

    Well,
    Web layout means that in place of (or in addition to) the paper layout, you get the report designed in JSP code. So all the frames, repeating frames etc will be expressed in JSP code using the Oracle Reports custom tags. Since it is code-based, you can insert your HTML or Java code in here to customize the output. You can in fact start with the HTML template, open it in reports builder, and start inserting the data using Reports custom JSP tags. In web layout, there are no "page breaks". So your report will be a JSP file, and can be deployed along with your J2EE application.
    and see http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/pdf/10g/frm10gsrw10g.pdf
