Report 11g - Hide URL

Hi,
I am calling the report from the oracle forms by using web.show_document working it is fine . Here here problem is url is showing all the parameter and if some one copy and paste and it is working which i don't want(it has security issue ) . I need to Hide URL or when i click the button from the form it should me to save or open PDF.
I would appropriate iif some one give me a good solution or suggestion .

did you try my suggestion. There is also a url to show the result with RUN_REPORT_OBJECT and that url can also be copied to another browser to show the result (if you want that)

i have some issues to discuss for report output in pdf format.
we are using java application to call reports via AS 10g, my issue are
1) Hide URL in PDF output for hyperlink created.(Using username/password in Key is not enough)
2) Maintain history as i call second report from my parent report then i want to go back to parent report.(Note here go.history or history.go(-1) work in HTML output format but not in PDF)
3)To Call Child PDF report in new window(here again working fine target="_blank" for HTML output but not for PDF)

Not sure if this is possible.
However, one workaround might be the following:
1. Write a javascript that submits the URL using, say a POST method, and does not show the parameters in the URL. You will have to write this javascript code in the "Before Report" Report Escape. For a generic example on how to use javascript in a report, see Metalink Note 125652.1. This note shows javascript to disable the right-click of the mouse on the report output.
2. Use the Hyperlink peroperty of the report to call this javascript function, eg,
javascript:myfunction('http://machine:port/reports/rwservlet?report=...+server=...+empno=&empno')
I am not a javascript expert, so I cannot give you an example of the function, but I hope someone in your team can find out.

Getting Error While Displaying web page in Oracle Report 11g

Hi,
I am new to Oracle reports 11g. I have stuck into an error. While I'm trying to display the web page it says "No such Web command ()".
I am using following URL to call the report.
http://hostname:port/reports/rwservlet/?server=repserver&report=a.jsp&destype=cache&desformat=htmlcss&userid=scott/tiger@db
Please help me out from this.

Thanks a lot removing web solved my problem.
My second problem is
1) SAP xMII >Navigation services>Navigation do following
a) From the account name pull down menu select everyone
b)In the navigation tree tab page,choose Navigation Item >Add>Child
c)In the loading content dialog box,enter a name , for example,"Test"
d)choose."..."
e)In the File Browse dialog box,open the CM folder and navigate to teh QM folder
Select ZPPWeb.htm and choose Ok
After this I get error message as
"Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible , not enabled or of a type that does not accept the focus".
It does not add my htm file to the navigation link

Hide URL using srw.run_report

I called a report from a form 10g using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT which hides url.
Now i called a report with in report using srw.run_report which shows hole url in the browser.
I want to hide url.

Can I use this build it to run itself? I mean in your case run report A?
our report is launched from servelet. because of some security issues, I would like to use this built in to change it to command line after user enter all the parameters through the parameter form.

but how does one add user parameters and reports parameters to the URL and also is it possible to run report using utl_http without supplying a userid and password in the url

Parameter Form look & Fee changed after upgrading to the Oracle Reports 11g

Hi All,
We are using Oracle Database 11g, with Oracle Forms and Reports 11g.
We are in the process of migration our customized application from Oracle Forms 6i to Oracle Forms 11g, during migration we have faced a problem regarding the look and feel of reports parameter form,
We have almost 700 reports and 300 out of them are calling with report parameter form = yes,
When we call any report that is using Report Parameter Form, we have found that the look and feel completely changed, although it is acceptable for us as we have standardized the parameter form, with default layout, but the only problem is that, we are unable to fixed the length of any field having LOV, i.e. we have a field, that is showing Department Name, having Select DeptId, DeptName from Departments order by 1 and we have set the Hide First Column, when we call the report the length of this field systematically increased according to the biggest Department Name (Department Name having the highest number for characters), we want to fix the length of every parameter to a certain size,
Would gurus please advice?

Hi,
I have seen this problem.
I assume that Apex 4 do not give fxx name to items anymore in order where columns are in query.
This is one of reasons why we have not been yet able to upgrade.
And it seems this same problem exists in Apex 4.1 on apex.oracle.com

Webi report using openDocument URL,the window does not close..

While viewing a Web intelligence report using openDocument URL, the window does not close after clicking on Document -> Close option, and the report remains open.
And if I close the browser, the session of the user in InfoVierw remains opened

SRW.DOSQL NOT WORKING IN REPORTS 11G

I have certain coding in my report which makes use of SRW.DOSQL and the queries are written in reports 11g.
Kindly let me know the alternative in reports 11g as the opening balance field is not bringing the value as attached in the report.

Your not seeing the built in package for some reason.
Maybe they are missing on your Linux machine.
Reinstall reports there? Examing your environment variables?
Is that rwrun.jar anywhere?

Issue while opening webi reports using OpenDoc url in Chrome browser

We are in SAP BI4.0 SP7. We are facing weird issue while opening the webi report via OpenDoc url in chrome. we are facing the below issue only in chrome and it works perfectly in IE and Firefox.
For the first time the report gets opened properly(when a session is created). If we try to open the same report from the same machine in a different browser tab, report gets opened up without any Tables\charts. We could see only a blank page with just the Report Tab name at the bottom. If we do refresh on the page, the report opens up correctly. We have checked for packet drops and there is no such thing. Is there any setting that we should make to resolve this. Your help is appreciated.

Hello Gokul,
first thing is to check is if your chrome version is supported by your current BO version as specified in the PAM (is it?). If the chrome version is supported, and you still have an issue, then you can check with a sap support engineer.

How to install Discoverer 11g on Web Logic Server with Forms and Reports 11g Rel2

We finally started to migrate from Oracle iAs 10g Release 2 to Oracle Forms and Reports 11g Release 2 using Web Logic. I don't see an option to install Discoverer on the server.
My OS: windows 2008 R2
Installed Web Logic 10.3.6
Forms & Reports: 11.1.2.2.0_64 (64 Bit Forms)
How do I install Discoverer Plus in 11g? All I can find is Discoverer 11g Desktop/Administrator to run on User work Station. We were using discoverer Plus in 10g iAS.

SQL Server reporting services error "URl has already been reserved" while doing upgrade from SQL server 2008 R2 to SQL server 2012

"URl has already been reserved".
Reporting services for port 80 and 443 works fine both for reports and reportingserver on SQL server 2008 R2. But when I try to upgrade from SQL server 2008 R2 to 2012 this error pops up. How to make sure before upgrading regarding reporting services that
URL reserves and SSL are fine or how to fix reporting services are upgrade like repair install.

In your case, please running the following command to check the current URL reservations on http.sys.
netsh http show urlacl
Then, please delete the URL reservation by executing the following command try to resolve the issue.
netsh http delete urlacl <url>

Hello Everybody,
I am using Sharepoint server 2013 , SQL Server 2012 SP1, PerfomancePoint and Reporting Services in SharePoint integrated mode.
I built one report in SSDTusing an Analysis Services Cube. This report has 3 parameters. So the idea is use Dashboard Designer to use this SSRS Report and connect it with some PP Filters.
The issue is that I am always obtaining "Unable to find report specified by URL,Please verify that both Server URL and Report URL are correct".
I have the following settings in the PP Report:
Server Mode: SharePoint Integrated
SharePoint Site: http://MySharrepointSite:PortNumber/sites/bicenter
Document library : Documents (selected from drop down, my report is deployed to document library)
Report : report.rdl
When I select the report from drop down list its giving the error in a pop up message box as "Unable
to find report specified by URL,Please verify that both Server URL and Report URL are correct".
I have tried to use the most simple report, only with one parameter, but is always displaying the error above.
When I open the report directly from documents library its working fine and even it is working fine (
when I deployed the report) but the issue is parameters are not showing.
Any idea? Please help.

Hello Tom,
It should be "ReportServer" in the URL, not "ReportService".
In "Reporting Service Configuration Manager" look up the correct URL. Open Internet Explorer with right-mouse click => "Run as Administrator" and open the URL, this should work. Navigate to "Side setting" (on top right side),
go to tab "Security" and add your account with role "System Administrator". Afterwards you should be able to open the URL without running IE as admin.

Anil - Data Mapping option is available in the properties...

Anil - You have the option to pass parameters...this will filter data..

How to run a silent configuration for Forms and Reports 11g ?

I've run a silent installation for Oracle Forms and Reports 11g R2 in Windows 7 64 bit.
I made it using a response file called install_only.rsp. Now I want to run the configuration also in silent mode.
How can I do it ?
I know that I can use a template called configure_only.rsp. However, i don't know what is the correct syntax for the command to start configuration.
Should I use the same setup.exe installer and inform configure_only.rsp as response file ?
The command below is the appropriate command for this task:
setup.exe -silent -response configure_only.rsp
Or is there another way to be followed?

Alright, I eventually found the answer.
Configuration must be run from directory on windows.
Command is shown below:
<FORMS_HOME>/bin/config.bat -silent -response <path-to-response-file>

How to generate a local file pdf with reports 11g

I want to generate a local pdf file to print it with client_host

I think using report builder can't support pdf output,...All of our reports are PDF output so Reports 11g definately supports this format.
I'm a little confused by your request, however. If your user has your PDF report displayed in a browser window - can't they just click the "Save" button in Acrobat Reader to save the report to their computer?
Is your user wanting to bypass this step and have the report generated and saved automatically to their computer? If this is what you want to do, then Francois's suggestion is the way to proceed. You will be using the WebUtil library to transfer the file to the client computer. This means, you will need to complete the configuration of the WebUtil library on your application server before you can use any of the WebUtil methods.
