Report Builder 11g on Windows 7(64bit)?

Hi Oracle Guys
I know that Report Builder 11g is not certified on Windows 7 (64Bit)
Knows someone if release 2 it is planned ?
Or knows someone for when the releases 2 or a patch is planned?
We want to install next year new Developer-Clients and we want to know if Windows 7 64bit is an “no go”
thx
Alfred

I use the 11g Reports Builder on 64bit Windows 7.
It works fine except that it doesn't like the Aero interface. Windows automatically switches to basic mode when you're running the builder.
If you're ok with that then you shouldn't have any problems.
Cheers,
Toby.

    Hi InoL
    Thanks for your reply.
    Would this work with Reports 11g? rwbuilder.exe seems to require being called via rwbuilder.bat in 11g.

  • Install Forms and Reports builder 11g without WebLogic Server

    Hello Everybody,
    Presently to install Forms and Reports builder 11g on a PC for developers, we need to install WebLogic Server prior to that.
    For this, we need lot of resources. Hardware, to download big software bundles, memory resources, etc...
    If we have a solution like *"Forms and Reports builder 11g and its tools as stand-alone distribution from Fusion Middleware technologies"* ........ no words from me.
    Do you have a solution to install Forms and Reports Builder 11g without WebLogic Server?

  • Crystal reports 6.0 on Windows 7 64bit

    Is crystal reports 6.0 compatible with Windows 7 64bit?

    Oh my, Crystal 6 was one of the worst versions ever.  It crashed and was just painful.  I'm amazed you would still have to working today.
    That being said, Crystal 6 was released about 13 years ago and I would be very highly recommend not using it on Windows 7.
    Hope this helps,

  • Performance problems on a Oracle 11G with Windows 2008 64bits.

    Hi everyone,
    I have noticed that our db is going low and low every week. My server has 16GB RAM and 10GB are dedicated to the Oracle database, this is a 11.2.0.1 with Windows 2008 R2 SP1 64bits. I like to know acording to the nexts values what you guys recommend to adjust in the init.ora:
    orcl.__db_cache_size=5402263552
    orcl.__java_pool_size=33554432
    orcl.__large_pool_size=33554432
    orcl.__pga_aggregate_target=3657433088
    orcl.__sga_target=6878658560
    orcl.__shared_io_pool_size=0
    orcl.__shared_pool_size=1308622848
    orcl.__streams_pool_size=33554432
    *.memory_target=10511974400
    *.open_cursors=5000
    *.optimizer_mode='RULE'
    *.processes=300
    Acording to the memory target on how values can be increased the processes, pga_agregate_target, etc.
    Also we have problems related to the bug Bug 9593134 that “Connections to Oracle 11g are slow and can take anywhere from 10 seconds to 2 minutes.” there is a fix on linux by removing the dns names on it but anyone have experience on windows platforms?
    Thanks for all and sorry for my english.
    Regards.
    Arturo.

    Regarding the long connection times, have you tried using network packet capture software (such as Wireshark) to determine what the client computer is doing when a connection attempt is initiated?
    The Oracle Database time model statistics, along with the system wide wait events may help you diagnose the non-connection related performance issues (you should not just look at the statistics, but instead capture the current values, wait a period of time, capture the statistics again, and compare the changes in the statistic values). A statspack report might also help you - but a 10046 trace at level 8 or 12 is more appropriate if you are able to identify a couple of sessions that experience performance problems.
    I do not suggest just blindly modifying parameters, although I am curious to know:
    * Why the session level parameter OPEN_CURSORS is set to 5000 - do you expect a single session to hold open 5,000 cursors?
    * Why are you using the deprecated RULE based optimizer?
    * Why is the MEMORY_TARGET parameter used when the SGA_TARGET and PGA_AGGREGATE target are specified?

    Hi,

    Thanks in advance.

    When you open a new project, either you (manually in the new project dialog) or the project (automatically) sets the project preset (project settings) to match the properties of the source media.The project preset directs the program to create the correct space for your source in the Edit area monitor from which to edit. When you let the project do that automatically its decision is based on the properties of the first video (your prime choice) dragged to the Timeline. The project can have only one project preset. Other video formats can be used but their properties will not agree with that prime project setting. The project preset has other more subtle functions which include directing the program what disc menus to show you in the Movie Menu section of the program.
    You cannot make significant changes in project settings once the project preset is selected and you are in the project. You start a new project if you need to change the project preset (project settings). The Edit Menu/Project Settings/General is a good place to find out which settings were set, but not the place to make significant project settings.
    Please read my blog on the project preset for details on all this plus see the how to set the project preset manually when the project does not do a good job automatically.
    http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2013/04/pe11-accuracy-of-automatic-project.html
    What are the properties of this video that your project will not stabilize because its properties do not match the current prime project settings? What are
    Video Compression, Frame Size, Frame Rate, interlaced or progressive for this file? If you have problems opening a new project and setting the project preset manually for this file, I will help you with the settings once I have that properties information for that file.
    Please let me know if you are OK with the above. These are important workflow points. And, I will gladly re-write or clarify whatever you need to know.
    Thank you.

  • OBIEE 11g + Windows 7 64bit?

    Hi everyone,
    Quick question but has anyone been able to install OBIEE 11g in Windows 7 64bit?
    I got the 64-bit Windows installer from (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-enterprise-edition/downloads/bus-intelligence-11g-165436.html). But every time I double click on the setup.exe, the DOS window pops up for about half a second and then disappears and nothing happens. I tried the 32-bit install but that quickly realizes that my OS is 64-bit and it gives up right away too.
    Based on the certification matrix (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-enterprise-edition/bi-11gr1certmatrix-166168.html), it looks like Windows 7 32bit is supported but not 64bit.
    In the past, there's always been some kind of work around or command line flag we could throw in to get it to install anyway. Anyone know a work around?
    Thanks!
    -Joe

    I am running Windows 7 Professional 64bits and the installer works fine on my PC although I have not tried installing OBIEE as I don't want to "contaminate" my PC with it so I am using a Windows 32bits VM. I suggest you upgrade your Java JDK/JRE to the latest version and also make use UAC is turned on and no AV software is running.

  • Report Builder is not exist in fusion middleware forms&reports installation

    Dear All,
    i have installed oracle fusion middleware forms & report services ofm_frmrpts_win_11.1.2.1.0_64_disk1_1of1.
    form builder is there, but the report builder is not there? why? where is report builder?
    Regards.

    Hi Maahjoor,
    Try Starting Report Builder using the rwbuilder.bat found in the %ORACLE_INSTANCE%\config\reports\bin\ directory.
    If you still getting issues
    a)Backup the %ORACLE_INSTANCE%\config\reports\bin\ rwbuilder.bat file
    b)Now modify rwbuilder.bat file from the %ORACLE_HOME%\bin\rwbuilder.bat file,by manually hard-coding the correct paths for:
    $$Instance.directory$$\config\reports\bin\reports.bat
    $$Instance.oracle_home$$\bin\rwbuilder.exeThat is, if your instance home is C:\Oracle\Middleware\as_inst1, then change the rwbuilder.bat to reflect:
    C:\Oracle\Middleware\as_inst1\config\reports\bin\reports.bat
    C:\Oracle\Middleware\as_inst1\bin\rwbuilder.exe
    c)Then, re-execute the modified rwbuilder.bat file from the %ORACLE_INSTANCE%\config\reports\bin\ .
    If it still doesnt work...
    Follow these 2 metalink ID's ,They will be helpful

  • Run Reports Builder with a remote WLS

    Hi all,
    Can somebody know if Oracle Reports Builder 11g can connect with a remote WebLogic 10 server Reports instance?
    How can I do that?
    Best regards!!!

    - not sure what you mean by this .
    - builder will not connect to wls. for jsp reports development, it copies jsps to wls jsp deployment folder in same domain and runs (ie jsp runs in the wls container).
    - yes, rwclient,rwservlet can connect to remote inprocess servers running in wls and can run reports in those reports servers.
