Report Builder 6i crashes while compiling

I have report builder 6.0.8.11.3, running on Windows XP SP2.
I am connecting to a 10g database and compiling a custom report.
This report was running fine in the database, i just copied to my folder and compiling from local system (connecting to the 10g server). So this is not a code issue.
After compiling 50%, the report builder crashes with this message: Report Builder has encountered a problem and needs to close. In more information, the error signature is given as AppName:rwbld60.exe AppVer3.0.0.0 ModName ora805.dll ModVer 0.0.0.0 Offset 00046d68.
We have re-installed Report Builder/Windows/Oracle client from scratch many times but not able to solve this issue.
Please let me know of any pointers in this regard.
Thanks
Manu

dude dude we get the same error hell of times ..its a bug in report builder ..it suddenly crashes in unexpected situations and oracle is no longer supporting 6i builders ..i think its time for you to migrate to 10g developer suite.
or else recreate the layout and try ..i have done that for many reports becuase for some reasons layout gets corrupted.
All the best

    Hi,
Reports Builder 6i Crashes while compiling .rdf file which has output format as pdf. Does anyone knows how to fix this.
    Thanks,
    HC.

Hi, you may look at your report builder version because a lot of them are bugged out and do need to be upgraded to a higher level...I saw a lots of crashing when opening reports and also compiling reports that ended being an old report builder version full of bugs.

  • Report Builder 10 Crashing while generating to pdf

I can get a report to show all the pages in previewer mode.
However, when attempting to generate to pdf, report builder crashes at random times. Not at just one page, but whenever it feels like it.
Report is 4,000 pages, but I've ran 15k page to pdf before. And it is NOT the report, it crashes on all reports.
We've had some recent windows security updates pused to us recently, but that is it as far as system changes go.
    Environment:
    Win XP, SP3
    Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.7.0 - 64bit Production

Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2That is the base version of Developer Suite that you can download on OTN. I would at least start with upgrading to the latest patch, especially since you connect to an 11g database.
Another thing: do you have this problem in Reports Builder, or on the application server? Latter case: check your AS version against the certification matrix too.

  • Report Builder keeps crashing

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to fix this.
Every so often when I am in reports builder it crashes with a memory exception. Somthing like the following
"The instruction at "0x671915fc" referenced memory at "0x000eee85b". The memory could not be "read".
and builder shuts down. In some cases I dont even get the message, builder just chooses to disappear on me. It doesnt havent all that often when I am in the layout editor. It seems to handle more when I click on a programming unit or on the data model editor.
Does anyone know what this means and how I can stop it. I have to save my report every minute or so to ensure I dont lose anything (once the report got corrupted and I couldnt even open it) and am up to version 30 already.

I had applied a patch as well to see if it would solve the problem but it did not. Cant remember what the patch number was.
I had been working with builder no problem before. On our current project we needed the minimal server as well to run the report locally. It was after I had installed the server that I stated to run into this problem. I even completely uninstalled reports builder and the server and re-installed it but it did not solve the problem.

  • Report Builder is crashing... 6i, 9i and 10g

    Dear All,
During my experience with all versions of report builder, all versions crash from time to time when building reports.
Is there any way to get rid from this??
    Regards,
    Joe

I noticed crashing of the builder on Windows 2000 running in VM. After applying SP4 on Windows 2000 the issue was gone.
Crashing is mostly caused by wrong datamodel coding is my experience.

  • Reports Builder 10g hanging while printing

    Hi all,
We have a printing issue with our Reports Builder 10g. When I run a report, select FILE and PRINT and click o.k, Reports Builder hangs where it trys to format page one. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Strange, my ReportBuilder works with File/Print but hangs when printing from the print icon.
ReportBuilder is not a robust product. It hangs and crashes frequently. Little has been done to correct. Except for the auto-save/crash-recovery feature - that is a job saving addition to the product.
That said, lots-o-features get added from one release to the next, but precious little attention seems to be given to improving stability.

  • Form builder 6i crash on compile.

I just recieved a new computer and installed Forms Developer 6i and and tried to compile my forms. Some of my forms compile ok. Other forms, the more complicated ones will crash Forms Builder 6i without any error message.
The Forms and Reports 6i was installed after Forms and Reports 10g was installed.
The version of forms is Forms [32 Bit] Version 6.0.8.23.2 (Production)
My new PC is a DELL pentium 4 with 1GB of ram.
    Thanks,
    Jim
    Thanks,

what windows version you using ... .
Inolau not necessarily true... I am using Windows XP SP 1.4, upgraded to newer version of Forms and reports and still had Forms crash... opened SR w/ oracle said I was using desupported version of forms and reports... no luck @ all...
What I ended up doin in reformatting my entire computer and reinstalling all the software again.. i know this can be a pain but if this problem persists after updating to patch 13.. then I would suggest doin the same ... I wasted about 4 weeks trying to figure out a solution and having my help desk support re-image my HD ....

  • Forms developer Crashes while compile

    I am using Forms 6i on windows 2000 ... i have a 4 mb form .. when ever i do incremental compile(ctrl + shift + k .. developer 2000 forms crashes and shuts down ...
some times the message given is program error and sometimes no message is given the the form exits
Please help i cant make a single change to the form easily
    thanks
    Ashish

    Problem solved!
I ran the frmbld.exe from DeveloperHome\BIN and then I could use File->Open normally. I figured out that it opens in the same folder for the first time (DeveloperHome\BIN). Before that, I used a shortcut to run forms builder. That shortcut didn't have the working directory set to anything. So, it seems that the open dialog wanted to open in the working directory (as it was the first time to open any file) (and this maybe the case also when the latest directory to open from was deleted or moved). So the solution was simple, just add the working directory to the shortcut..

Your original post mentions issues with jsp:useBean and jsp:setProperty, now you're talking about tag libraries and directives. Can you be more specific about what you're trying to do? Are you having problems getting JDev to recognize a tag library or are you having problems with the tag library when running the app? What directive are you trying to use that causes the termination error?

I guess the title's quite descriptive.
I have Crossbridge_1.1.0.devbuild.fdb5425, and boost_1_54_0, and I'm trying to compile an otherwise empty c++ file that just has an #include <boost/asio/ssl.hpp> at the top. I invoke clang++ as follows on the file:

  • Oracle Forms 5.0 - Form builder shuts down while compiling

    Hi all,
I am new with Oracle forms and I am trying to fix an small issue with a form that was created on Oracle Forms 5.0. I fixed the problem but now I need to compile it but when I try to do so using Shift+Ctrl+K it starts compiling but then FORM BUILDER shuts down and doesn't finish compiling the form.
Can somebody help me out please? I got not clue why is that happening.
    Thanks,
    Lester

If you are looking at task manager to see how much memory is
being used then you are looking at the wrong number. The memory
usage is not accurate when running mulitple users since there
will be significant reuse of code (ie. sharing). Windows NT will
indicate everybody is using 10M but it will be smaller than
    that.
The only accurate way is to load the server up until performance
degrades to a point that is not acceptable. Then take the memory
on the machine and divide by the number of users and you will get
a rough estimate of how much each process is using.
    Hope this helps...

  • Eclispe/IntelliJ/JCreator crashes while compiling project !!!

I have just installed fresh new windowsXP with SP2. Then Java JDK 1.5_01. Next 3 IDE's Eclipse 3.1M4, IntalliJ 4.5, JCreator 3. I have very simple project with about 10-20 classes using JConnector(MySql JDBC). When i press compile button in each ide - ide crashes with no error message. Is there any bug in Java or rather WindowsXP_SP2? I try to find any solution on www but with no result. Please help...

Java 1.5_01 and Eclipse 3.1M4 work for me on XP Pro SP1 just fine.
Either SP2, a bad install, hardware, or a configuration parameter is the problem.
If it only crashes when you try to compile, I'd suspect configuration errors.

  • Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2 Crashes on opening a rdf file

    Hi,
I am trying to do a customization on an oracle standard report (sales order acknoledgement),when i try to open the rdf file from the Reports builder it crashes immedietly. Also i noticed the builder is crashing if i open rdf file having size more than 1MB. I am able to open rdf and make changes in it if its lesser than 1 MB. Not sure if there is any configuration that restricts the size of the rdf file. Please help.
    Thanks
    Prathap

Can you open any other rdf?
We had quite a few crashes with the Report Builder on Windows 7, especially when using graphs in rdfs. Setting the compatibility of the shortcut to "Windows Vista" solved most of our problems.

  • Crash at compilation/Intermediate files generation LV FPGA module

    Hi.
I'm in desperate need of assistance.
I have been using LabVIEW 8.6 with FPGA module running at Win XP for som time now and I have never encountered any crash while compiling before.
I get one of those Error messages where I just can send an error report to Microsoft.
I use the FPGA target RIO0, PCI-7833R and have designed a FPGA interface-VI including a number of functions. When I right-click at the VI and choose Compile, generation of Intermediate files begins. Now I never get further than the before LV crashes. Each and every time.
I have no problems opening the project file or my FPGA VI, updating them or saving them.
    Grateful for help. Thanks!
    /Henrik

    Hi!
Thanks again for good ideas. Unfortunately it didn't help repairing. I tried with both FPGA Module and the FPGA compile server (even though the compilation process never reaches that far) without success. I even tried to repair the whole LabView 8.6 but with the same result.
Even before repairing I have been able to make another small VI work its way through the whole compilation without crashing. But when I replace the small VI with the previously "failing" VI, it crashes again. I have also tried to cut away most of the functions of the VI but it still crashes.
Is it possible that I have some kind of bad reference, some missmatch when instanciating and mapping any of the VHDL nodes or something like that that causes the crash? Still one would think that this should generate an error in LabView rather than generating a "windows crash", but maybe something can cause the file generator to fail completely. It has been working before and I did a very small change when the crashes started, but something is obviously wrong, so...
Since its crashing even before connecting to the compile server, do you think I can rule out any damage/failing on any of the HW (e.g. the National specific HW and my external board and the on-board FPGA? Since I'm running out of ideas myself I guess I could look into that as well, but I can't see that that's the problem.

  • Critical Error while compiling / exporting *.ipa with AIR16

    Hey,
my application crashed while compiling with AIR16. (Flex 4.13.0-AIR 16.0) With AIR15 it works well.
First I thought, the reason might be the included ANE, but it isn't. The ANE works fine with another project. In fact other projects also work with AIR16.
The project works fine in the Simulator without any crashes or compile errors!
We've built a lot of test-apps including the same components and libraries as in this app, but we are not able to reproduce this crash in other projects.
Edit: We just tested an *.apk export. works also fine!
    Any ideas?
    EDIT:
Tried out AIR17beta. And who wonderes? It works!
But I really want to know, what the problem is/was!
