Report builder bitmap output

hi everyone.
I RUN A REPORT FROM REPORT BUILDER USING DESTINATION PRINTER AND MODE BITMAP TO A HP PRINTER(DESCJET D3940) AND THE REPORT CREATE A SMALL EPS FILE AND PRINT IN 10 SECONDS.
WHEN I PRINT THE SAME REPORT TO A DIFFERENT PRINTER (HP DESCJET D2660) THE OUTPUT IS TOO LARGE AND PRINT IN 5 MINUTES.I AM USING WINDOWS XP AND REPORT BUILDER 10.1.2.0.2.

Excel will remove leading zeros in a numeric field because it is treating the column as numeric. Putting a ' in front of the number forces Excel to treat the column as text.

  • Report Builder: output to Excel removes leading zeros

I'm trying to use the Report Builder to output a numeric
field to EXCEL , but on numbers that start with zero EXCEL removes
    the leading zero's. ex. 00123 becomes 123.
Is there something that I can put in the expression builder
on the field to overcome this.
I've tried concatonating a single quote on the front of the
field but the single quote shows up on the output. I've tried this
on both the SQL and on the expression builder.
I've read on some of the posts where people have tried using
'mso-number-format:"\@'" within a TD tag but I can't seem to get
the syntax right inside the Expression Builder.
    Has anybody got any suggestions?

    Hello,
If your question is about the format spreadsheet, it is not possible from Reports Builder :
    http://www.oracle.com/webapps/online-help/reports/10.1.2/topics/htmlhelp_rwbuild_hs/rwwhthow/whatare/output/output_a_simpleexcel.htm
    Restrictions
It is not possible to generate spreadsheet output directly from Reports Builder. Instead, on the command line, you can run the report using rwrun or Reports Server clients (rwservlet, rwclient, rwcgi), with DESFORMAT=SPREADSHEET. You cannot store DESFORMAT=SPREADSHEET as a system parameter value in the report definition (.rdf file).

  • Comma separated output using report builder

    Hi Experts,
I am working with EBS 11.5.10, database 9i, and report builder 6i. I have a XML Publisher report, with output type EXCEL, which is working fine. But if i get huge data like 1million, 2million, it's not able accommodate the output in EXCEL. Since it's EXCEL 2003, it can't handle data more than it's capacity(i think 60,000 rows).
So we thought, if we can generate the output in CSV file with comma separte, then we can open the file in EXCEL 2007. Could somebody help me how to generate the CSV output using report builder 6i.
or is there any work around to our problem, kindly help me, it's urgent.

    Hi,
Not sure if report builder can be made to generate csv output.
But you can create a PLSQL Report. Just use the query of Report Builder and write a Plsql procedure based on this query

  • How to merge 2 or more Report Builder reports and output as one pdf

I'm in a J2E shop in which I develop Oracle reports that are called and published by the application as jsp's. I need display output multiple reports sequentially and then print them out (as one pdf). All component reports currently exist as their own jsp file so the desire is to string together these JSP's without recreating them in a single jsp thereby doubling maintenance.
Does report builder have an option to do this or is there code that can be added at the end of a Report Builder jsp file that will call the next jsp sequentially.

    Hello,
I do not believe that Report Builder has a way to merge multiple PDF's into a single output file. I found a FREE product that will merge multiple PDF's into a single file that you could use as long as merging the outputs one after another is acceptable.
Go to http://www.somepdf.com and look at their product.
    Good luck,
    Don.

  • Different display on client report builder and web reports

Hi all, I have build a report in report 6i version Report Builder 6.0.8.13.1.And I set the page to 8.5*11 ,and it runs well in the client ,but when I put it on the UNIX SERVER,and run it from web URL,It displayed different from the client report builder. The web report is "smaller" than the client report ,but the font size is as same as the client .
My HPUX is 11x,and display the Chinese report .
Any body know why ?give me some advice ,thank u very much.

    Hi
If you had built the report definition on Windows and then moved this to Unix server, you may find different fonts in use. This is becuase your Unix setup does not have the same fonts install. At design time, You need to use fonts which are available on Unix also. The same fonts shaould also be installed for printer in Unix i.e. the AFM/PFM font files should be kept under $ORACLE_HOME/guicommonX/tkXX/admin/AFM or PFM directory. This would give you the same output and would lessen the porting affect.
    Thanks

  • XML Report completes with error due to REP-271504897:  Unable to retrieve a string from the Report Builder message file.

  • Running the report in Bitmap and Character mode

    Hi,
We have the reports which can run in both the character mode and Bitmap mode. The only problem I'm facing is font size in the character mode report. If the report is run in Character mode then the font size of the report will be greater. As the sizer is bigger, I'm getting the X symbol in the place of report. Can i reduce the size of the font. I'm using the font Tahoma (8 points). Reports 6i Version and Windows Xp is the OS.
    Regards,
    Alok Dubey

Hi this may solve u'r problem
In Oracle Reports Designer, bitmap mode, you can make "C"
bold and in a different font and point size than "c". This
is because you are generating postscript output.
Postscript is a universal printer language and any
postscript printer is able to interpret your different
    design instructions.
In Oracle Reports Designer, character mode, the
APPLICATIONS STANDARDS REQUIRE the report to be designed in
ONE FONT/ ONE CHARACTER SIZE. Character mode reports
generate ASCII output. In ASCII you cannot dynamically
change the font and character size. The standard is in
effect so a report prints as identically as possible from
    both conventional and postscript printers.
