Report Bursting / Personalization

Hello,
I´m trying to publish a report for dynamic repients in WebI. My data Source is a Universe based on a SAP BW Query. The attached report should only contain data for one ProjectID.
I got the following reports:
First contains report data in sections by ProjectID.
The second report with mail info contains: ProjectID, ManagerName, Email
In Personalization I matched the ProjectID of ReportToSend with the Project ID of ReportMail. Is it also obligatory to match the Mail address? I can´t do that because I have no mail in the query of ReportToSend.
I have made a Publishing. The result is: Each ProjectID gets one Email with one report. But only one of the recipients gets the data for its ProjectID. The others get a empty report.
Does anyone have a idea why only one distribution mail works correct and the other are empty? Please help! I read all forum post the product documentation for publication and could not find a solution for this.

I checked the configurations you stated in your answer. The server is set to the values you suggest. The destination settings are set correctly because I get the emails.
The Default Dir is set and the Max. Concurrent Jobs= 10

1.) When I start a job, I can see the followin metrics in adaptive job server:
Actual metrics:

There is only one Job and one PID. Is it possible that personalization is done by another server?
In the the "xi31_sp3_publisher_en.pdf - (page 11)" document I can see a list of servers that are involved that and have to be configured:
For all Publishings (No matter WebI, DeskI or Crystal Reports):

              Publication Scheduling Service                    -> I can´t find this service
u2022 Adaptive Processing Server, especially:
              Publishing Service                                        -> I can´t find this service
              Publishing Post Processing Service             -> I can´t find this service

Are you sure that only the Adaptive Job Server is responsible for publishings in WebI?
Where can I find those services. Is it possible that I need to install this Services?

Report bursting sends empty reports

I am trying to use Business Objects Enterprise with Crystal Reports to send suppliers reminders by email. BOE should burst the reminder report into the parts relevant to each supplier, but the reports are always empty. Can anyone give me some help?
I have a very simple test case Publication installed which works correctly. The report containing all data is burst into parts and each part emailed to the expected recipient.
However for the the full reminder Publication, the emails are sent but the attached PDF reports are always empty.
Some additional information:
- The source and the recipient Crystal reports can be run in BOE and show the expected data.
- If the Publication is run without any Personalization setting, then all the recipients are emailed the full reminder report showing all data.
- If Personalization is set, the reports are sent but are always empty.
The field being used for Personalization is a Crystal Formula Field unlike the test case where it is a database field.
Any suggestions?

Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1.
Data source: MS SQL Server (actually SAP Business One).
Authentication: SQL Server.
The problem seems to be with the Personalization as the Publication works OK if there are no Personalization settings. I have been wondering if the problem is something to do with the Formula Field being used to filter not being indexed. I have tried adding it as a Report Bursting Index in Crystal, but it seems to make no difference. (Of course, it is possible that I have not done it correctly.)

XML Publisher Report Bursting Program (XDOBURSTREP Short Name) is failing with error when there is no output is generated by the Oracle Report, this was working fine before the ATG RUP7.

XML Publisher Report Bursting

I have created report using XML Publisher Report Bursting. The output-type of the report is pdf..

But if I change the format to xls it's showing error and the report is not getting created.

Only common point in failure with above error are below columns in fnd_concurrent_request

Utilizing XML Publisher Report Bursting Program user-variables

When running the XML Publisher Report Bursting Program against a bursting control file, I see the following in the log:

I would like to reference one or more of these in

I cannot seem to get this to work in my bursting control file by referencing:
${cp:user} (note that it just returns the word 'null' here instead of the value)
nor can I get it to work in my RTF template by referencing:
<?xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX, ‘cp:user’)?>
Should this work, or I am missing something?

Thanks Ike, it likely would. The thing I keep coming back to is an example in the BIP Developer's Guide that suggests you can set a property and have it made available:
DocumentProcessor dp = new DocumentProcessor (cfgFile, xmlFile, dir);

prop.put("user-variable:ADMIN_EMAIL","[email protected]");
dp.setConfig(prop);
dp.process()
Seems to me that the work going on behind the scenes here (based on log statements alone) suggest the same sort of integration.. but I suppose not.

XML Publisher Report Bursting Program ends in error

We have a report that generates the XML output (ACH notification)
In the after report we have a call to the Bursting program.
The ACH notification completes with the correct output but the bursting ends in error showing

The temp directory variable in the XML Publisher is /tmp which has all the permissions.
The control file calls the delivery method (email 123 in the example) and uses the following template

Automatic Report Bursting based on column names given by user as parameter.

Could some help me achieve the following functionality. The requirement are:
1. create a report that has parameters that are column names (display values e.g: department, location, employee job code)
2. the end user will select one or more columns from the multi-select parameter
3. we want that there should be a button on clicking that the user should get automatic file bursting. He should not be required to go to schedules tab and create a new job for that.
4. the report should burst to a file location depending on the columns selected by the user, e.g. if user selected department and location then we should have files saved in the set file location as sales-india.pdf, sales-us.pdf, hr-india.pdf, hr-us.pdf and so on.
I am new to BI Publisher.
Could you help me in creating such a parameter, what should be report sql for capturing the data from parameter and then doing report bursting automatically based on two or more parameter values given by the user.
There is no need to show the report to the user in BI Publisher as there are thousands of rows in a table. Three tables join to give the employee data.

Sending HTML Email Using Report Bursting

Hello all,
I have a requirement whereby I am sending the report as an attachment to some users and as a link to other users. Report bursting would seem to be the answer and is working well with the exception of the HTML formatted email. When attempting to email a link, my html tags are still showing up as text. I have tried using < and >
I have also specified format=html in my distribution.xml file to no avail.
Any ideas ??

Where are you adding your html code for the link ?
Is it in a field in the report or are including it as part of the distribution.xml file?

FO processing for XML Publisher Report Bursting Program

Hello,
I am facing the following problem: if i try to burst a report using XML Publisher Report Bursting Program special characters like (ş,ţ,ă, etc.) in the resulting PDF look strange. I have tried running the report without bursting it and the characters appear just fine (after i've set the FO Processing Font Mapping). My guess is that XML Publisher Report Bursting Program is not using the right font mapping. Have you faced this problem before? Do you have any idea how to set the right font mapping for XML Publisher Report Bursting Program.

So the answer was to make sure the location in the bursting file (location="xdo://schema.template_code.en.US) exactly matches the language/country setting in the uploaded Definition. Then make sure the fonts have been added to the xdo.cfg file matching what your Font Mappings are:

BI Publisher report bursting problem

I am not able to make my report burst to separate files for ftp delivery. I am running BI Publisher version 10.1.3.4.1 (stand-alone). My data query looks like this:
select a.agency_id, b.borr_name
from agency_tbl a, borr_tbl b
where a.rpt_date >= 20100101 and a.rpt_date <= 20100110
and a.borr_id = b.borr_id

order by a.agency_id, b.borr_name
My bursting/delivery query looks like this:

(I have to put "KEY" in quotes because my database is sybase, and KEY is a reserved word.)
I have verified that both queries return data (6 records each, no null agency_id keys).
The goal is to create a file for each agency that lists their associated borrowers.
I can view the report without problems. But when I schedule the report and enable bursting, I get the "Job was failed" email notification, and the report history shows this:

Any help will be greatly appreciated. This has me stumped . . . I am out of ideas.

What caused our bursting problem:
We had to put the word "KEY" in quotes (in our bursting query), because KEY is a reserved word in sybase. But putting it in quotes caused a problem - the results of the bursting query did not contain a "KEY" tag.
. . . And the solution:
We added the connection property "GET_COLUMN_LABEL_FOR_NAME=true" to our sybase datasource definition. Many thanks to Tim Dexter, and to Paul from the sybase forums (http://newsgroupstats.info/article/forums.sybase.com/sybase.public.jconnect/2308/Column-aliases-not-working.html) c. 2007.

XML Report - Bursting Email

Hi,
I am new to Oracle bursting, As per the requirement i need to send a email through XML publisher bursting (email will be having attachment of report output in excel format), Following error message i am getting while running bursting program, XML Publisher Report Bursting Program. Then your
<xapi:template type="rtf" location="/tmp/XXCNC_CM_ITEMCOST_CHG.rtf" /> is wrong.. this need to point the xml template location. Just check the query and then u can replace this with your output

Error while report bursting in infoview

Hi all,
I have created a publication for report bursting when i am scheduling in my Development environment it is working fine and reports are generated but when same publication i m using in PRODUCTION environment it is showing below error
