Report Definition Template Changed Without Intention

We use BI Publisher for our Check Form and last updated the template on 8/31/2011, which is confirmed in the F95600 table. However, on Nov 2, 2011 the signature line became shifted lower by about a quarter inch, causing it to print too low to see as it is in a portion of the preprinted check form border. The fix is simple, but we are trying to figure out who or how this got changed. We have very few people who even have access to BI Publisher RD templates, and the F95600 seems to confirm no on 'intentionally' changed it or uploaded a new version of the RD template.
Any ideas out there on how this may have occurred? We did do a Full Production Package the weekend prior, but we had a couple of days of checks after that which were correct.

Additional Information: We have found that it is the entire form that is shifted down, not just the signature lines. Also, it happens intermittently. Originally it happened on all the checks that were printing, but now it is inconsistent in this; some checks in a check run will print just fine while others will print shifted. As an example of a check run of 115 checks, the first 40 printed fine, with 8 that were shifted, then the remaining checks printed fine. Oracle Support is maintaining that this is an issue with the printer, however, we have made no changes to this printer and used it prior to BIP when we used Optio to print our checks and it never happened with Optio.

• XML Publisher/Report Definition - Excel Template Issue

Hi everyone,
I'm Diego, and I've been getting some issue to upload/download Excel templates using XML Publisher and Report Definition.
I've been working over Real Estate Module and I get an activity to make an Excel Report. I've made all necessary step to make an excel template; create a .xls template, uploading the file to XML Publisher Repository, creating a Report Definition associating a RDA, and so on...
When I generate the file in the Web (DV), it doesnt work; when I download the final excel, it doesnt appear any information. It comes just the statics texts and formatting, the real data information inside xml doesn't appear at excel.
I've made a lot of tests and changes, but without success.
FYI, I've already made a .rtf template and it worked well.
I'd really apreciate if anyone help me or at least having any clue about it.
Thanks so much,
Diego Santos

Hi my friend,
First of all, thanks for reply.
I've checked the template definition, and it seems OK.
I've created the XML Publish Repository with Object Type = TL, in excel template I didn't put any additional info, (the field Template Type = TYPE_EXCEL_TEMPLATE cames by default).
As I told above, i've made many tests..with and without grouping, but no success.
However, when I test it locally it works. When I test the .xls + xml using Template Viewer runs well. But when I download the .xls on Web, it didn't retrieve any data information. =/
I've already downloaded this doc, and I'm using it as support.
If you need any more information, pls let me know that I'll tell you in a sec.
Thanks a lot,
Diego

• SCCM 2012 R2 Cu1: Can I reinstall the Reporting Services Point role without delete or change the SSRS-DB?

Hi, I have some issue with the reports,
Can I reinstall the SCCM Reporting Services Point role without delete or change the SSRS-DB (just reset the SCCM SSRS function)?
I have saved/backup the custom made reports.
/SaiTech

Yes you can remove and reinstall the Role. I had to do this recently on our SCCM 2012 R2 due to an issue with the reports not loading. Found out that the problem with reports was from the upgrade to R2 from 2012 SP1 and was able to run
a command to re-register the reports with WMI. I actually removed the role, uninstalled reporting services feature from SQL, deleted the report databases, reinstalled the SQL feature, configured the reporting databases again, added the role back, and
ran the following command.
mofcomp "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Shared\sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof"
This allowed all my reports to register as they should have and run without errors. If you are having similar problems, you may be able to just run that command to get reports running without all the extra work I did. For us we were getting an
invalid Class error in the srsrp.log.

• I have a custom template. When I edit it and try to save it asks me to name it and then I end up with an additional custom template. How do I edit the template and save the changes without creating another template?

I have a custom template. When I edit it and try to save it asks me to name it and then I end up with an additional custom template. How do I edit the template and save the changes without creating another template?

Hi Atrec,
If you don't need your old custom template, save your changes with the same template name. It will tell you that this template exists and will ask you Replace? Say yes (if you do want to replace the old with the new!)
To delete unwanted templates, go to Finder > Menu > Go and press the option key. Your Library will show in the Go Menu. Navigate to Library > Application Support > iWork > Numbers > Templates > My Templates.
Delete any unwanted template by dragging it to the Trash or click on it then command-delete.
Having gone to all that trouble to find My Templates folder, right click (or control click) on it and Make Alias. Drag the Alias to any convenient place for a quick way to get back to that folder.

Ian.

• WORD Error message -- Report from Template

Hello everyone,
I try to generate a "Report from Template" with transaction CG03.
I can select the generation variant and the parameter values in the next two pop-ups.
WORD is starting but then there is the error message:
"Word cannot read this document. Maybe it is corrupted. Try the following:
- open and repair the file
- open file with repair-textconverter".
This message is a translation from german to english so the correct messagt might differ from this.
When I look at my frontend PC in the local settings I see that the respective files are written, but I can´t open them.
This problem started two days ago out of nowwhere.
Additional information: Visual Basic pops up after the error message is closed with "runtime error '1055'.
A debugger is opened and this is the content of the window:
Private Sub TmpDDE()
Dim Template
WordBasic.FileOpen "C:DOKUME1chgiLOKALE1TempRehsfil0.WWI"
WordBasic.FileTemplates Template:="C:ProgrammeSAPFrontEndsapguiwwiwwi.dot"

End Sub
Any ideas?
Thank you in advance for your help!!!!

Hello Christoph
any change happened on your client? New Windows version? New Word Version? New WWI Version installed? Did you manupulated Standad Dot path etc.? Did you change Standard.dot of Word?
Can you open in cg54/cg50 any document (ready, released or historic) without a problem and the problem is related only to "report from template"?
During WWI process a number of files are passed on to your client. Can you use Wordpad to open the files? I am not sure but I believe per WWI document there should be something like 4 or 5 documents in your local WWI path. One containing the data, one containing the template and some others (named something like resfil, lesfil etc.).
An error like you described is normally related to one of the above mentioned changes. Can you use "Report from template "regarding the same spec, same genvariant same language with a different client without a problem => then it is clear you have a local problem
With best regards
C.B.

• Report to track changes to infotypes prior to running the payroll interfac

wants a report to track changes to infotypes prior to running the payroll interface. The attached report looks like it should work but it returns nothing. Is there config that turns on "Track Changes": for select infotypes? If so, can they be activated for key infotypes so this report will run?
Name, Address, position, etc.
Not attendance and absence ITs.

Hi,
IMG – Personnel Management – Personnel Admin – Tools – Revision – Set up change document:
This node has three items:
Infotypes to be logged
Field Group Definitions
Field Group Characteristics
Using these three options you define which infotypes you wish to log, then which fields, then you define which groups of fields are to be saved. Click each link, or see the sections below:
Infotypes to be logged
Here you define which PA infotype numbers you require logging. Select New Entries and enter a transaction class (A for Pers Admin, B for recruitment), then enter the infotype number and save.
Field Group Definition
When changes are made to a logged infotype, the field contents before and after are recorded. This is the very reason for logging the infotype, but there is an overhead in performance and disk space used so it needs to be given consideration. Typically you will want to record fields that are pay relevant.
Using the field group definition, you specify which fields you wish to record changes in. When any of the fields in the group are changed, all the fields in the group are saved. You can use an asterisk to log all the fields of the infotype but this is not recommended for space and performance, also there are many fields on an infotype that you will not be using, that will be saved also. Ideally you will pick individual fields of the infotype and enter them like so:
The field group number is a freely defined number you allocate to the group, it will be used in the next step. For normal use, simply pick any number not already used in that infotype. All fields with the same field group number are recorded in the log, even if they have not changed.
Click New Entries and enter the infotype number, field group number and field names that you wish to record.
Field Group Characteristics
When you have set up the field group numbers, use the field group characteristics to activate the logging of those fields. You can also specify a supplementary field group; this means that the contents of another field group can also be saved at the same time, even though the contents have not changed. In practise it is not used much. Simply select new entries, enter the transaction class, infotype, and in the DocFieldGr enter the number you assigned to the field names that you want to store, then enter L for Long Term Documents (short are not supported)
The Audit Report
To access the report showing the logged infotype changes, use the HR report tree available from various menu paths, including:
Main Menu – Human Resources – Pers Management – Administration – Info System – Reports - Documents – Infotype change – logged changes in infotype data. (RPUAUD00).
When you run the report, select the infotypes you require, and select and execute.
Cheers

• Report Row Template - header

Hi
I have made a custom "Report Row Template". I have write the "header" direct in the html code. Is that a problem if i want to translate the application? Is there a way how to use the headers from the apex?
Best Regrads
Jesper Vels

Hello Jesper,
OK, I can see now what you are trying to do. Unfortunately, the only similar example I'm familiar with - http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11933:108 – Is also using hard coded text for the headings.
I can show you how to get to these headings, and how to use them on your template, but I'm afraid this is not a generic solution, as I couldn't find an active substitution string for the column headers.
As there isn't any variables to hold these column names, we need to define our own. You can do that using an application items or hidden page items. Let's say I defined three hidden items on my report page: P1_HD1, P1_HD2, P1_HD3. Each item will be defined with Source Type of SQL Query, and Source Use of "Only when …". The Source Value for the first item will be as follow:
select heading
from FLOWS_020200.APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_RPT_COLS
where APPLICATION_ID=:APP_ID and
PAGE_ID=:APP_PAGE_ID and
DISPLAY_SEQUENCE = 1;The DISPLAY_SEQUENCE should change according to the sequence of the column.
If you choose to use an application items, you'll need to use a before header computation on your report page, with the same query, to populate the application items.
In order to use these items in the report template, we need to use the "&P1_HD1." notation. You can have something like this, for the first header in your report query:

&P1_HD1.:

#1#
. . .Hope this helps,
Arie.

• Report row color change based on condition

I have follow this forum steps Re: Color Row In Report
Column Template 1
<td #ALIGNMENT# class="t1data" style="background-color:#ADD8E6;">#COLUMN_VALUE#

PL/SQL expression condition
'#2#' = 'BOOKED'
Column Template 2
<td #ALIGNMENT# class="t2data" style="background-color:#FFE87C;">#COLUMN_VALUE#

PL/SQL expression condition
'#2#' = 'ENTERED'
http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/2792/apexcolor.png
This does color change but for some rows the colors are highlighted wrong and when i mouse over the rows , it changes to wrong color.

Hi,
t1Data and t2Data sound like standard theme css class names.
In my example, the colouring is done by the style attribute on the TD tag. For "normal" rows:
<td #ALIGNMENT# headers="#COLUMN_HEADER#" class="t18data">#COLUMN_VALUE#</td>for highlighted rows:
<td #ALIGNMENT# headers="#COLUMN_HEADER#" class="t18data" style="background-color:red;">#COLUMN_VALUE#</td>Have you defined "t1Data" and "t2Data" in STYLE tags on your page?

<add assembly="Microsoft.ReportViewer.Common, Version=11.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845DCD8080CC91"/>
May be I have to change these versions to 9 or 10.
First I will try adding Microsoft.ReportViewer.ProcessingObjectModel.dll .
Once thanks for your reply.

System info: SAP GUI 720 (patch 10007878), ECC 6.0, SAP_APPL/EA-APPL 605, WWI 2.7 (patch 20000084)
Hi, folks.
I was able to execute CG02 'Report from Template' function. My local MS Word 2003 would open successfully to display the report as expected. Suddenly, I couldn't do that anymore. I'm now getting msg "An error occurred when starting the display application" (C$772). And I didn't change anything.
Any clue to what has happened or why it is happening? In my Word, I have 'C:\Program Files\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui\wwi' set as the file location for User templates. What else should I check?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, Caroline.
Thanks for pointing me (back) to it! (I've encountered a similar issue with the same param back in 2010...)
I'm positive that the problem started after I tried to run the transaction code (of my custom report program that does the CG02 'Report from Template' function) from the web gui ('You Can Also' menu function). Somehow, the standard SAP fms within It changed the param ESWWI_INST value from 'EXISTFRONT' to 'WWISERVER'. So when I ran CG02 and the WWI server is not available yet, I received the error msg.

• Dynamic Time Selection in Plug-in Report Definition

I've been trying to add the ability to select the time range to a report I'm writing for my plug-in. According to the documentation, the following block can be used:
l_param_values MGMT_IP_PARAM_VALUE_LIST;
l_param_values := MGMT_IP_PARAM_VALUE_LIST();
l_param_values.extend(3);
l_param_values(1) := MGMT_IP_PARAM_VALUE_RECORD(
'oracle.sysman.eml.ip.render.elem.TimePeriodOption',
'true');
l_param_values(2) := MGMT_IP_PARAM_VALUE_RECORD(
'oracle.sysman.eml.ip.render.elem.TimePeriodUserCust',
'true');
l_param_values(3) := MGMT_IP_PARAM_VALUE_RECORD(
'oracle.sysman.eml.ip.render.elem.TimePeriodParam',
'0:0');
I then add that to the report definition like this:
l_report_guid := mgmt_ip.create_report_definition (
p_title_nlsid => l_report_title_nlsid,
p_description_nlsid => 'Display my report',
p_owner => l_report_owner,
p_category_nlsid => 'Category',
p_sub_category_nlsid => 'Sub Category',
p_late_binding_target_types => l_target_type,
p_show_table_of_contents => 0,
p_system_report => 1,
p_component_name => l_target_type(1),
p_parameters => l_param_values
Alas, I see no new drop-down widget to select the 24 hour/7 day/etc... range to set my graphs with. It does appear to set the current value though, when I change TimePeriodParam it does appear to change for the graphs bound to the value.
I should be on the latest version, has anyone seen a similar problem? The owner is SYSMAN and it does appear as locked, are there other settings that may have to be changed to allow user "modification" at report generation time?
Thanks,
Paul

One of the reports is made up entirely of metricDetails (no custom SQL). The other one it is not showing up on is made up of three tables and a chart with the following (yes, I just did just notice parameter 4...I will take that out but don't expect a change since the METRIC_DETAILS don't do anything like this).
-- the next element is a
-- capacity consumption graph that shows used capacity over
-- time
l_param_values := MGMT_IP_PARAM_VALUE_LIST();
l_param_values.extend(4);
l_param_values(1) := MGMT_IP_PARAM_VALUE_RECORD(
'oracle.sysman.eml.ip.render.elem.sqlStatement',
'select a.COLUMN_LABEL, a.ROLLUP_TIMESTAMP, a.AVERAGE
from MGMT$METRIC_HOURLY a
where a.TARGET_GUID = ??EMIP_BIND_TARGET_GUID??
and a.METRIC_NAME = ''LogicalStatus''
and a.METRIC_COLUMN = ''SpaceAvailable''
and a.ROLLUP_TIMESTAMP > ??EMIP_BIND_START_DATE??
and a.ROLLUP_TIMESTAMP < ??EMIP_BIND_END_DATE??
ORDER BY a.ROLLUP_TIMESTAMP'
l_param_values(2) := MGMT_IP_PARAM_VALUE_RECORD(
'oracle.sysman.eml.ip.render.elem.ChartParamController.chartType',
'timeSeriesChart'
l_param_values(3) := MGMT_IP_PARAM_VALUE_RECORD(
'oracle.sysman.eml.ip.render.elem.ChartParamController.width',
'800'
-- 0:0=24 hours, 0:1=7 days, 0:2=31 Days
l_param_values(4) := MGMT_IP_PARAM_VALUE_RECORD(
'oracle.sysman.eml.ip.render.elem.TimePeriodParam',
'0:1'
);

• Template changes will not propogate out to the child web pages in the defined site.

I have a user in my organization who regularly makes changes to a dreamweawer template in order to universally change content on pages that are internal to her office. The site that serves her office has been defined in dreamweaver (we're running dreamweaver CS4). Normally, after saving the template changes on her way out of the dw session, she would be asked whether or not she wanted to propagate her template changes out to all of the child web pages (.htmls) in her site. This has stopped happening and sure enough she can see that the change doesn't exist on the child pages. Does anyone know why this might have happened, how to restore that prompt for propagation or, most importantly, how she can get those changes propagated to the child pages?

That may be an eventuality, particularly assuming I'm never able to work on this fulltime...which is likely. =) Anyway, thanks so much for the link. We'll try this again. Hopefully, you'll be able to read it. Even if it's clear, it may still just be clearly ugly, but please let me know what you think. Thanks!:

• Web Template Changes not visible after transport from Development to Test

Weu2019ve run into a problem doing web development in BI 7.0 that I suspect someone has seen before and may quickly be able to point us in the correct direction. Changes that are made to web templates in the Web Application Designer are correctly transported from development to the test environment, but we are still seeing the old version of the template when the report is executed. We are able to see the web template changes in the Web Application Designer in the test environment. We believe this is a caching issue and have cleared the query cache and the HTTP cache in SMICM. Unfortunately, this has not resolved the issue. Can you suggest another approach to resolve this issue?

Not sure what you mean by browser cache. We have deleted history, cookies, and all temporary Internet files. The issue isn't limited to a single user, but exists for all users. Through extensive testing we have established that you are able to see the web template changes in test in the WAD(Web Application Designer) after they have been transported from development, but can only view the changes when the web template is run for the first time. Changes to existing templates can be seen in the WAD in test, but are not seen when the report is run. The old version of the template appears to held in cache somewhere, but we haven't been able to find it and clear it.

Hi All,
Kindly note that we have requirement in KE30(profitability report) where the client wants to see the posting date and period for which the report is ran in the header.Right now we can see the current data i.e the date on which report is generated.
in brief:
Currently
header data: the date on which the report is ran.(report run date)
Expected
Header: posting period and date for which report is run.
Please provide some information as to how do we move with the changes.
Regards

Hi
Char PERIO is available in KE30 reports which is in the format MMM.YYYY
In your header text, use "Selection Parameters" and insert PERIO... you can write the header text as below
You have executed this report for period from "Per1" to "Per 2" for the company code "BUKRS1"
Where Per1 and Per 2 and BUKRS1 are the variables taht you used in your report definition
