Report Designer with two Structure in Column

Is not possible a Report Designer use a query with 2 structure in column ?
If i need use two structure in the column, exist a workaround for this case ?

You may try to work around to have set of virtual chars and key figures; but resposne time will not be encouraging.

Will Java UFLs satisfy reports designed with COM UFLs

cr_xi_java_ufl.pdf notes that "When using Crystal Reports" to design reports that contain user-defined function libraries (UFL), you can use only Java UFLs or only COM UFLs, but not both".
Is that purely a statement about configuring the Developer to access the UFLs or does it indicate some sort of distinction between COM and Java UFLs.
In particular can I take a report designed on Microsoft Windows and including a call to a UF that happened to be exposed by a COM UFL and then run it under Crystal Reports Server XI R2 for Linux using JRC and have the function call evaluated by a Java UF of the same signature within a Java UFL?

Business Objects led me wrong. Java UFLs DO satisfy reports designed with COM UFLs.
If I take a report that was designed under Microsoft Windows and I added functions that were there via COM UFLs (certainly I have proved it by typing the UFL name in directly into the formula editor; I presume it will also work if you drag the COM UFL into the formula editor) and I then place that rpt file on my Linux machine and view that report using Crystal Reports Server XI R2 and Tomcat and JRC and I have Java UFLs on that Linux machine that have the same name and arguments as the COM one then the report runs OK and the Java UFLs do their job.
(Now that is great news)

Crystal report based on BW query with two structures

Hi,
I use a BW query with 2 structures. In the rows there is a structure of restricted characteristic 0material. I used this characteristics several times in different rows to restrict these rows to specific products.
Cars
motorcycles
Others
In the columns I have a structure of key figures. Every key figure is restricted to a specific time intervall.
So in BW the executed query looks like this:
                       Key figure 1         Key figure 2        Key figure 3
Cars                   10                     30                         100
motorcycles        20                   100                          30
Others                30                    40                           39
If I use the same query in Crystal then I have access to the 3 keyfigures and to one structure element.
How can I ensure that the query is displayed in CR like in BW? I tried to work with crosstabs but I was not able to get the same display like in BW.

XL Reporter: Report Designer - Sales Document Type as Column

Hi Everyone,
I have a question regarding report layout in XL Reporter - Report Designer. Here's the scenario:
I have created a Sales Volume Report wherein the report should be able to display the quantity per material per sales document type (Sales Order, Invoice, Credit Memo). The Sales Document type is expanded as Column so that the user can view the total per Sales Document. My problem is, can i re-arrange the order of display of the 3 sales document selected. The current (and I think the default order is alphabethical) which is A/R Credit Memo, A/R Invoice, Sales Order. Can I re - arrange it in my Report Designer so that Sales Order will be the 1st column, followed by the A/R Invoice then lastly the A/R Credit Memo?
Another question, can I change the Display Name of the 3 Sales Document Type? By default, the Sales Document Name is being retrieved by the system. For other fields which where not expanded as column, I can easily change the Display name of the field, but for the sales document, I don't have an idea. Hope anyone can help me.

If you want the document types in a specific order, don't add as an expansion, but as individual summary comuns, then you can add them in the order you want.
You can use simple Excel formula to rename the columns - hide the row with the column names & add a new row with if statements based on the value in the cell e.g. if (cell = 'Invoice" , "Inv-AR",'')

Report designer - Printing option - chops off columns to fit in page

When I run a report from report designer, it runs perfect(can scroll to end with all the columns) - but when i try to change to print format(PDF), it chops of many columns of the report to fit into the page... I have a query with 15 columns but in the PDF i get only 4columns.
Is there any workaround to squeeze in the whole report (*might be landscape) or Is this issue addressed in any OSS or SP?

Hi Karol, thanks for the answer. Sorry for all the dumb questions, but the report designer is altogether a new animal. Not to mention I havent worked on this.
I havent specified any page size for my report. When i run the report in the portal, the web page contains all the columns and not in PDF. Where can set the page size in the report designer to determine the size of my page.
And is there a way, where i can set an option to embed the report into PDF as a landscape(not while printing, but embbeding).

Problem reporting design with ireport

i have database with table msFish, this table have 3 column.
id+name+size
i want make a report with 4 report in one page that show each fish data
example report

name : marine name : piranha
size : 10 feet size : 0.3 feet

but all of this show in one page and design with ireport?

do i need to have jasper reports installed to use ireports.
i have dowload ireport.tar file extracted it and im using it.
I didnt set any path..

Creating View
     From initial screen of data dictionary(T.Code: SE11), enter the name of object i.e. view.
     Select view radio button and click on the push button.
     Dialog box is displayed for types of views.
     Select the view type.
     On the next screen, you have to pass following parameters.
     Short text
     In the table box you need to enter the table names, which are to be related.
     In join table box you need to join the two tables.
     Click on the TABFIELD. System displays the dialog box for all the table fields and user can select the fields from this screen. These fields are displayed in the view fields box.
     Save and Activate: When the view is activated, view is automatically created in the underlying database system. As long as the table exists in the database, the view also exists (Unless you delete it).

Reporting data with quotes around each column, separating with ,

I want to report data with quotes (") around the data and make is CSV.
I use colsep , to allow the comma separator, but how can I get " around each column?
I do not know the column I am dealing with, since it's over several tables from a dynamic script.

Help with two DIVs as columns at 100% page height

I've got two DIVs side by side on my page and I want both columns to fill the page from top to bottom.
The left DIV stops about half way down the page.
There are DIVs inside of each column.

You cannot safely force the height on those divs, without also getting ugly vertical scrollbars.
Your choices are three -
1. Use Faux columns (Google it) to make it *look* like the divs are the same height.
2. Use javascript to actually dynamically determine what height to use for the columns.
3. Use CSS3 to make the adjacent columns behave as if they were two adjacent cells in a table, resulting in them being the same height.
My preference is #1 - it's easy and VERY effective. I don't like #2 as a solution, and #3 works beautifully if you are not worried about supporting IE6 or 7.

Interactive Report, issue with backgroud color of Column Heading.

I am using Theme -16
and there is a Interactive Report with the following columns Headings
Employee Name Employee No DOB
Now, the label of the first column is changed from Employee Name to Employee name.
The column heading is now displayed as follows.
Employee Employee No DOB
Name problem is when I add a break in any of the column heading..the background color of the column headings is different than the first one (little bit darker).
Why the background ground of the column heading is different in both these cases??.

As the background image doesn't repeat vertically, when the height of the heading is more than the height of the image the gradient is replaced by the underlying background colour (#4e4e4e). This is what's happening when the break is inserted into the header text: the height of the heading increases, causing more of the darker area of the background image/underlying colour to be visible.

Read Purchase data using Report painter with CCSS structure

I'm triying to set-up a simple Budget by material procedure using Rosurces defined as material and KP06 to plan Qty and Values.
All works fine.
Later I need to write a report for Compare Planned vaues and Effective values at material (resource) level.
Unfortunately resource can be used only for planning, so none Effective values is available in CO.
I thought to write a Report using Report painter and library 1VK (CCSS structure) for planned values and import from a LIS table the effective values (Ordered, Invoiced) directly from Puirchasing environment.
Is it possible by using exit or other tools, import LIS data into a CO Report painter program ???

I try to specify better my need.
I've defined using report painter a Z report using Report Painter.
Inside teh new Report, I can use a Customer key-figure which does'nt exist in the CCSS structure.
Is there any solution to Read data from other SAP tables and use these info into the report.
I'm not very frioendly with Set, Key-figures and variables, and I'd like to undestand if my needs can be solved using Report-painter.

Ted,
When I connect to the Derby database in Eclipse using the embedded driver, I can successfully drag and drop tables to create a report. This driver uses the derby.jar file and has no package sealing violations popping up.

The error I initially posted resulted after I added the derby.jar as a driver file in addition to the derbyclient.jar, which I don't think is supposed to be done now that I am thinking about it, but I did it because of the class not found exception above. Is this perhaps simply a bug that it is trying to utilize the derby.jar embedded driver when the client driver should be used instead? Or am I doing something wrong myself?

Report Designer - place two queries side by side in a report.

I have a need to place two queries side by side in a report, I get a message that it is not possible to insert all fields. What I am doing is placing each query in a report section and then trying to move the fields from one section to the previous section. I am not sure if I am doing this correct. Can someone let me know if this is possible and if so what am I doing incorrectly? Thank you for your time and assistance!

Hi Margaret,
It is possible to display two queries side by side in a report.
You just need to adjust the layout by dragging the each query along side each other - as you want to see it in the output.
There is no need to move individual fields.

Inter-AS design with two ASBR

I was trying to prepare an Inter-AS design, where planning to connect ISP PE routers through a L3 switch. All ISP PE and ASBR switch runs LDP & MP-EBGP. I am little confuse here whether it would work or not, bcause all document says to connect ISP PE's through another ASBR but MP-EBGP peering between PE's dirrectly. Where as in my scnario MP-EBGP runs between PE-ASBR switch as below. Can anybody help me to understand if this will work or not .

Inter-as VPN can provisioned either via MP-eBGP between ASBR routers or MP-eBGP between RR/PE routers.
There are 3 flavour of Inter-AS VPN
1. Option-A -- Back to back VRF
2. Option-B -- MP-eBGP between ASBR routers
3. Option-C -- MP-eBGP between RR/PE routers and ipv4 eBGP + label between ASBR routers.
You are trying to implement Option-B that is possible. For Option-B also you have two sub-options
a. redistribute link connecting ABSR into IGP.
b. Next-hop self on ASBR router while advertising over ibgp session
