Report Displays in Viewer but Web Print produces blank pages

I am using VS 2008 w CR 2008 SP2 in a web application deployed on Win2008.
I have set the report to display all pages so that the users can hit the print button on their browser (IE7).  When the report is shown in the report viewer it looks perfect.  When the print button on the browser is used blank pages with the url on top/bottom of each page print, but there is no report.
If I use the print preview and turn on the background layers, I can see that the report background is on two and half pages, which would be corect; but there is no report text or data.
Any ideas?

Hello,
If you page through the report in the viewer is all the data visible?
Have you handled the postback event so that the report is in session before you print?
Look at the samples in the Crystal Reports Visual Studio .NET [Samples|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/sdklibrary?rid=/library/uuid/d0bf8496-2a81-2b10-95ac-b1f48d5b63f5]. Go to the "ReportDocument_Object_Model_Tutorials" and look at the "RDObjMod_Session" sample.
There are also different methods for printing from the web. Printing from the Print control on the viewer downloads an ActiveX print control to the local system. The user needs to have Administrator rights for it to install and register. For information on web printing options look at the article[ "Printing Web based reports with Crystal Reports for Visual Studio .NET"|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/600c24a3-ab1d-2b10-1bb4-c50562e353cb].

  • Email prints produce blank pages, both from Mail and from other apps

I've just discovered that, when printing an email from the Mail app, the printer produces a blank page. So far, I've tried the following to no avail:
    Trying different print settings
Saving the mail as a PDF, then printing the PDF
Printing the email from my Google account in Safari
Copying the email text into a TextEdit document and printing the document
All produce a blank page, except the Google prints from Safari, which prints the Google logo and the page footers, but omits all the email text. In the end, I resorted to taking a screenshot of the email and printing the image file.
Any similar experiences and possible solutions?
Interestingly, I've recently had problems copying and pasting text from emails, too. Wonder if this is related?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Burnhug 54,
Thanks for the post.  With this one, I've included a document below that should assist with this one.  It was some very good basic t-shooting tips.  If after going through these steps, you are still getting blank pages, then be sure to check your driver from control panel and from one of your applications.  Ensure that it is indeed the PSC2115.  Good Luck!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium will not print docs from computer, but will print a test page.

HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium will not print docs from computer, but will print a test page.  I continually get a message that the computer cannot communicate with the printer.   Not only will it not print docs, it will not print web pages using IE 11 or Google Chrome.
I've used Print and Scan Doctor, it always reports there are no issues and prints a test page even though I can't print anything else.
Each time I want to print, I must reboot the computer.  After reboot I have one chance to print.   This problem started February 15, 2015.
My operating system is Windows 8.1.   I have unintalled the HP software, rebooted, then reinstalled the software:
    OJ8500_A910_1315-1.exe
HP Print and Scan Doctor - HPPSdr.exe
    HPSupportSolutionsFramework-11.51.0049.msi
All versions were last downloaded on April 4, 2015.
I have a home wireless network (Ubee DDW366 router).  All other devices in the house will print to the 8500A printer without issues:  2 Toshiba laptops, 2 Android phones, and 1FireHD.
The desk top is installed with a Netgear Network card I don't know the model, but I had it tested by a PC Tech to confirm that the card is working.   The card and Windows 8.1 were installed on January 3, 2015.
I have run virus scans and malware scans.  Each time they show there are no issues with my desktop.  What kind of desktop? Specifically made to my specs from store parts. . . no brand name computer.  ASUS Motherboard P6X580 Premium.  Now I will probably get hacked!
I am at my wits end.  And it is frustrating when I need to make a print of something and the system locks up.  I often resort to screen printing to a word document to save in order to reboot. . . .but then I lose all sorts of capabilites when I salvage what I needed.  Also this is a time consumer.
This printer has served us well for two years and I have expensive cartridges waiting; another two rounds of refills.
    Help?
Addendum:  I can scan using HP Printer Assistance.  I open the HP Printer assistant, it "retrieves" info from the printer, then I select "scan a document or photo" and the printer responds.   I have no trouble with scanning.

    Hi Dominic,
Thank you for the link. The problem that I have is when the job specification last page prints on the front of the page, and the next job specification prints on the back of that page. There is no way I can control what page it is going to print on. This is depending on how much description the user puts in. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.
I do have another issue too, and you maybe able to help me with this. Below is a list of form fields on my template. When the job specification is printed on more than one page, I could not get the fk_job_title to print on the continuous pages. Is there a way I can code this fk_job_title to print on all of it's continuos page? I have tried many different ways but could not get it to print. I also posted this in the forum, but didn't get any respond.

  • HP c4280 printing out blank pages

No matter whether it is color or black, it prints completely blank pages. It sounds like it is doing the print job, but comes out blank. This printer has not been used in 3 or 4 months, but I know the cartridges have ink in them. Is it possible that I need fresh cartridges or could this be caused by something else?
    Thanks

I forgot to add that im using windows vista home basic and this is the first time using the printer on this computer. I did install the drivers though.

LR 4 only prints a blank page on Epson 2880. Print preview panes remain blank. Window 7 OS. Need help desperately!

    Bob
Thank you for your kind consideration of my problem. Up until the software started to print blank pages the preview pane always showed the selected print within the selected layout. Something has changed. Lightroom will print to the JPEG file but only a blank page on the Epson 2880. I've been in contact with Epson support and an IT tech and they tell me the problem is with Lightroom. I'm at my wits end and thinking of upgrading but the glitch may carry over. Uninstalling and reinstalling and deleting the preferences file did nothing to rectify the situation.
    Thanks again!

  • HP 6510 printing only blank pages after changing print cartridges

    Hi,
My HP 6510 is printing only blank pages after I installed new print ink cartridges. I tried cleaning the print heads, aligning the printer... which did result in some pages printing with a little color (but it seemed "off" to me). That said, when I try to print a regular document from my PC it only prints a blank page.
I can't seem to figure this one out on my own - please help!
    Thanks!
    Chloe

The document here may help resolve black not printing on your Photosmart 6510.  Be sure the cartridges are vented as shown in solution two.
Is your printer still in warranty? You can check with HP's warranty tool here.

  • Setting on Economical - blank ink produces BLANK PAGE

I always put my setting preferences on "black only" and  economical.  Suddenly I got blank pages.  Color worked, plenty of
black ink. Cleaned printer heads.  I saw a fix--"use color" and change color preference to Applicantion Managed Color. That worked in terms getting the document printed in black.  But, it was not economical. It used more ink, and ran slower than my preferred setting of "economical."   How do I get my economical setting to work? It makes no sense.  Is this some kind of conspiracy to use up ink quicker?!!
One person suggested removing printer heads and cartridge and washing them.  I don't even know what a printer head looks like.  That would be a sure way to destroy the printer completely.  Besides, if it printer fine in slow mode, why shouldn't it work in economical mode?
    Any fixes???

    Hi @hjanfar,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that you are getting blank pages when using the Economical setting with your HP Photosmart c309a. I am sorry to hear this, but happy to look into this issue for you!
I would suggest to go through this guide, Printer Prints a Blank Page or Does Not Print Black or Color Ink for the HP Photosmart Premium C309a....
If the guide does not resolve your issue, take a look at this post, Re: Black not printing, by @Ciara_B.
You will want to make sure that you are using genuine HP ink cartridges, and that none of your ink cartridges are low or empty. See this guide, Ink Usage in Inkjet Printers, to learn how the ink is used in this type of printer.
Hope this clears things up for you, and thank you for posting!

  • HP 6310 started printing 2nd blank page

    Hello,
After a year or two of use, my printer ALWAYS prints a second blank page after the document is printed. Paper jams are also getting more common. Is there a "fix" or is there somewhere I can get a repair done if needed.
    Thanks,
    Tom Allen

    Hello there @sirknite ,
I read your post about your printing out blank pages from your Windows 8 system however, this issue does not occur on another PC. In the details you have mentioned, it seems to be an issue with the software on your Windows 8 system, as the other computer does not have a problem. To test this theory, try printing from another program to see if blank pages will still print out. This way, we will know if the problem is originating in one specific program, or in the printer driver.
Skipping ahead a little bit, try running the Print and Scan Doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for any conflicts that could be causing the issue. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there was a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results.
Try printing again, and if any blank pages still print out, try Uninstalling the Printer Software, restarting the computer completely, and download and reinstall the printer here: HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers
Please write me back with your findings and all of the results from your troubleshooting. Include which programs you have tested out and any other helpful information you may have came across.
    Happy New Year!

  • My HP LaserJet 1018 has started printing only blank pages.

My HP LaserJet 1018 has started printing only blank pages.
    Help?
    Using Windows XP (Home Version)
    Product # CB419A

Could be a number of issues.  First could be a bad or not connecting transfer rollers which moves the toner from the drum to the paper.  Only way to test is a half test by putting paper on the manual tray and printing a self test.  When the back edge enters the printer, open the toner door to stop printing.  Remove the toner and flip back the cover over the toner drum to see if there is any image on the drum.  If image is present then it could be transfer roller issues.  Use the service manual and look under engine diagnostics in the index and it will direct you to a page that shows how to perform an engine test.  Do the test to see if you get a sheet of paper with lines on it.  If you get lines, then the issue could be the formatter.  If no lines and the shutter has been removed then I would think you are having high voltage issues.  You may have to bring the printer in for service.

  • HP L7680 printing extra blank pages

I had repeated issues with LHP 7680 printing extra blank pages.  Tried the "new driver" fix and that didn't work.  Found the fix:  Go to Start, Control Panel, Printers and Faxes, RIGHT CLICK the L7680 Printer, click on Properties, click on Advanced tab.  "Spool print documents...." is selected.  Change the selection to PRINT DIRECTLY TO PRINTER.  Tested and resolved the issue when printing Word and Excel docs

    Try this...
    1. Go to the Printers folder and right click on the printer icon, then select ‘Run as Administrator’, and select ‘Properties’.
    2. Click on the ‘Advanced’ tab, and click on the ‘New Driver’ button.
    3. When you have to select the printer driver, select the ‘Have Disk’ button and point it to the installation CD or the ‘7zSxxx’ folder and install it from here. Or you can look under the ‘Manufacturers’ list and select ‘Hewlett-Packard’ instead of ‘HP’, and then select the appropriate printer driver.
    4. Complete the wizard, then apply the settings by pressing the ‘Apply’ button. Try printing again, and the issue should not reoccur.
Also, are you using Windows Vista?
