Report - Drop down feature

Hi All,
My Requirement is in a Query
The main input will be the Ship to Customer Number. Since, the users are not familiar with the customer numbers (they only know the Customer names), in order to find the correct Customer number(s), the user can use the drop down feature that is available for the SHIP TO Customer on the selection Screen. A list of customers will be displayed. The user can then enter the Customer Name (In full or partially) and then press the find button to select the required customer(s).
Can any one please explain on drop down feature how we can give the drop down feature and on the slection area ..

Hi Karuna,
I am not sure about the drop down feature but you can go for a selection option variable.
This will have what you need, an option to search by name(Text or Key) and a list of all the values from which users can select.
both the search and List option are available in a single screen which is a popup.
You can use this feature except that the dropdown feature which you are talking about will not be available in this.

Strange behavior in Financial Reports (drop down feature)

Hello Gurus,
I have currently performed migration of Financial Reports from 11.1.1.3 environment to 11.1.2.2 environment with the help of a staging environment.
We migrated the reports over to 11.1.2.2 using LCM from the Staging 11.1.2.2 environment.
We are observing some strange behavior with the Financial Reports that have drop down functionality in our new environment.
When we open a report in our current environment (113) and select a particular member (India) from the Page dimension(Page has almost 30 members in it) it returns appropriate data, however when the same report is opened in new environment (122) and when we select the same member(India), it does not return appropriate data(Page has almost 30 members in it).
However if we design a sample report with the same member in the page (Page has only 1 member (India)) and then open the report it shows correct data.
So the issue occurs only when we have more than 1 members in page and it works as expected when we have only 1 member in page.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Web Reporting, drop down box.

Hi Friends,
Previously we have a variable for 'Selection Time Category'.
They no more want to use a varible instead they want to put as navigational, I think filters in web. Can I use a drop down box for this.
What I have done is I placed infoobject in Free char area in Query and Saved it.
Now I want to place use a drp down box in Web adjacent to other dropdown boxws. Please guid me. I am new to Web reporting.

- drag dropdown box web item to your web template
- do setting for properties for the dropdown box in 'specific' section
characteristic/structure : your characteristic to filter
read mode : posted values
take a look 'affected data providers', make sure data provider you want controlled by the dropdown box marked.

Reports drill down feature

there is drill down option that can be used during user-defined report creation
(SQL Developer 3.1 EA1)

Hi Slevi,
You are right with the understanding of the Drill down function. To have a drill down function available the minimum requirement is have at least a single group in the report.
When we have a group with some underlying data and then when we would like to see data for a particular group, we can see a u201Cmagnifying glassu201D symbol which indicates that there is data for this group and we can use the Drill down function.
When you drill on a particular group, the data for that group is shown in a new tab.
I hope this provides some information about the Drill down function used in Crystal Reports.

IE 10: SSRS Reports no longer allows Drop Down functionality

IE 10 doesn't support the SSRS Report Drop Down Functionality.
It works fine with IE 9:
The drop down arrow functionality only works with IE9 SSRS server for folders and reports. It does not work with IE 10.
Please advise.

How do I add a drop down Shadow with Photoshop Elements 12

I am having the greatest dificulty adding a shadow eccect to my photo, the tutorial is nothing like the software I am using, I have made the layers the back ground then croped my immage made i wanted to place on the background but when I try and use the Shadow drop down feature the bos when i hit control T is not controling the shadow but a copy of the image i want the to be shadowed withthe shadow, I am only guessing at this point but I think what I need to do is have a layer that has the shadow only but I am at odds on how to do It! I have found a tutoral video on line but the software is nothing like what I have I am in trial but at this point I am quite agervated and may soon deside on another photo editing software im a noob any help will be greatly apreciated. the effect i am trying to accomplish is place a dino at the lake with my grandson in it he loves dino dan and wanted to create a pic for him!

First of all, if a picture is too large to post in this forum, you can upload it to www.pixentral.com, a free service. The pic must be JPEG, GIF and PNG images under 2MB. Then post another reply here, giving the URL of the picture at pixentral.
Now as to your dino, try this:
1. If the dino is on its own layer, skip to step 3.
2. Select the dino using the various selection tools. Here I used the Magnetic Lasso which worked well. The selection doesn't have to be precise since the shadow will be distorted and blurred.
3. Duplicate the dino layer.
4. Fill the dino layer with black.
5. Image > Transform > Distort, and drag the top center handle to create the shadow. You can also activate the Free Transform tool (Ctrl-T) and hold down Ctrl while dragging the handle.
6. Apply a Gaussian Blur to the shadow.
7. If there is excess shadow below the dino you can remove this by moving the shadow layer up and/or erasing the excess.
8. To lighten the shadow, lower the layer's opacity.

Save file name auto correct (or drop down) on a mac

I have a problem.
I am trying to use a new workflow for my photo editing. I am going to trial a method used by many other photographers which involves something to quickly view and make selections from the images and then photoshop to save and rename.
The issue I have is that photoshop lies in the saving on photoshop part. On a PC when you save you can type a file name (a racing driver in my instance, followed by a XX format number) If you have already saved a file with this name then it would offer a dropdown with the similar names.
So for example I want to save a picture of a driver called Smith.
I type SM and a PC would offer a drop down of file names. SMITH_01, SMITH_02 .... etc...
However on a MAC it does not!
I need to have this autocorrect or drop down feature for this work flow to be time effective enough to use.

You can always click on the file in the Save As dialogue which has the name similar to the one you're trying to save.
Or just copy the part of the name which will be unchanged and then paste into the Save As line and type in the rest.

Drop down Issue

I have one report with using dashboard prompt and table.While filter the records based on that displaying the records.
In that table i used navigate another report. In navigated report developed pivot chart with using pages(drop down names).
1. My requirement is while without using dashboard filter it should display all the names in drop down list in my navigated report.
and it should display in drop down, which name selected in my table.
2. If i selected dashboard prompt it should display based on the names only in drop down and what name i selected in table that should be in my drop down.
E.g
1. I have names like Name1, Name2, Name3,Raj1,Raj2,Raj3 without using dashboard prompts.
While clike the Name1 it should be display my navigate report drop down corresponding name. and similarlly
it display all the name also in my drop down. How to do this.
2 In my first report i used Country='UK'
Under UK have the Name like Raj1, Raj2, Raj3.
This name should be display in my navigate report drop down. and If i select Raj1 that in my navigate drop down first.How to do this
In my first report i used country filter becos of Coutry is dashboard prompt.
In Navigated report i used country filter bcos of i should display the country name in navigated report.

Drop down help

How do i get the combo box to work?
I know how to label things but thats as far as i can get..
i need some help!
All i need is when someone picks an item from the drop down
list, that it goes to that frame associated with that item..
or would doing an input text and button be easier?
that way they just type in what they need and it goes there?
If thats the case, i cant get that to work either..
Any help is appriciated!

Any code i use isnt working, but its probably because i dont
know what code works and what code doesnt so i just put something
in and go from there, just nothing has worked.

Introduction
There is a scenario that thousands of values in the drop-down of a parameter. Scrolling through the large drop down list is slow and cumbersome. Is there a way that we add a search feature in the report, so that it can filter down the values in the drop
down list to a smaller list of values?
Solution
To achieve this requirement, we can add a parameter with multiple keywords ahead, then all of available values which are begin with the keyword will display in the parameter list. In this scenario, we can create cascading parameters. One is a keyword parameter,
and the other parameter is based on the keyword to display the available values.
In order to enable the user to type multiple keywords, we can use the query below to create a split function which takes the list and the de-limiter as input parameters and splits all the values in the database:

Hmmm. This didn't work. I even re-booted, and Firefox still doesn't show the search engine.
It was actually an update to an earlier engine, and I foolishly removed the old version rather than just updating it.
Is there anything elsewhere (eg. the registry) that might be preventing this?

Drop downs for report options

I don't know if this is available for Crystal but one of the managers was asking if the report could be setup as for example Quickbooks, where you apparently have drop down menus that allow you to filter the data. for example this month, this week, etc. I know we can program for such but is it available for the user.
I am speaking to the actual report not to setup a menu with such options.
I beleive this could be done in Xcelsius but they were asking per CR.
