    Hi,
Can you run the report successfully from
    /Reportserver">http://<servername>/Reportserver ?
If the reports cannot run successfully, please try to fix the SSRS problem.
You could also try the steps in Garth's reply.
Remove the reporting point from CM12
    Remove SSRS from SQL
    Reboot the SQL server
    Reinstall SSRS
Ensure the right Service package and CUs are installed on SQL.
    Configuration SSRS
Ensure that SSRS works before moving forward. <aka browse to
/reports">http://<server>/reports make sure that you can see the CM12 Folder and reports

  • XML errors when running specific reports in SCCM 2012, using SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services

I've posted this to the SCCM 2012 forum and only received one response so far that states that this is a known issue that has been discussed before and isn't easy to fix;  I was not given any actual solution either.  Since this involves SSRS I
thought I would try my luck here as well.
I'm having almost exactly the same problem as is referenced in this article:  http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/uk/sqlreportingservices/thread/587a3319-bc54-4d30-bb3f-bb90a0c6ec50.  When
I try to run either of these reports (Computers with specific software registered in Add Remove Programs; Count of instances of specific software registered with Add or Remove Programs) I receive the XML error shown in the attached screenshot.  I'm fairly
sure the problem is the same as the other admin was experiencing and I just need to remove the unprintable characters (of the application name) from the dbo.v_Add_Remove_Program column.
The error references 0xFFFF but I could not find what that exactly translates too, other than it appears to be at the end of the spectrum for Unicode characters.  I used the following sql query to search for the 0xFFFF entry, but no results were found:
    use CM_UV2
    Select distinct
     CHARINDEX(cast(0xFFFF as varchar(1)),DisplayName0),
     DisplayName0
    from
     dbo.v_Add_Remove_Programs
    Where
     CHARINDEX(cast(0xFFFF as varchar(1)),DisplayName0) > 0
When I used the original hex value of 0x28 I get plenty of results returned with "(" in them so the query seems sound.  One of the articles I was searching mentioned running the query manually using the Management Studio and looking for strange characters
there but I'm not sure how to do that.
Basically I just need help finding the offending character and removing it.  I also need to be able to replicate this for other strings as this looks like an error that will reoccur whenever any new software appears that has weird encoding in the title.
Thank you in advance for any help given.

    Hi Uber,
This is a known issue that error occurs when running report "Count of instances of specific software registered with Add or Remove Programs" due to non-printable characters for XML. Based on internal research, the hotfix for this issue will be
included in the System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Service Pack 1.
As a workaround, you can remove the nonprintable character populated into the report parameter by referring to the following KB article:
    http://support.microsoft.com/KB/914159
    Hope this helps.

  • Error when i try execute report in SCCM 2012 R2

    Hello, good morning.
Sorry for my english. Im Brazilian!
I have an environment with SCCM 2012
    R2 and when I run a direct
report server I get the following error:
The DefaultValue expression for the report parameter ‘UserTokenSIDs’ contains an error: The referenced account is currently locked out and may not be logged on to.
When I run a report I created with
report builder does not bring me
    error.
    Thanks!!!
    Atenciosamente Julio Araujo

    Hi Julio,
It seems to me that the data source, being used by this report, has some saved credentials which are not valid anymore (locked out). Edit the report to use the same datasource you use for your custom reports. Also make sure that your datasets use the correct
datasource after you change it. Do not used saved credentials in your reports unless necessary. And in case you do: use a service account of which the password never changes or expires.

  • There is a problem connectiong to the specified reporting Server SCCM 2012 SSRS

    hi,
I'm Trying to install reporting services point SCCM 2012,  I configured the
site system role without problems, but when I tried to configure the report options I get this error:
"There is a problem connectiong to the specified reporting, please check the conection and make sure SQL Reporting Service is running on the especified server. "
The reporting service is running on remote server, I'm using SQL SERVER 2008.
    Two Questions:
1: Which is the cause of the error?
2: Which right permissions must have the reporting services point account?
    Thanks.

Are you allowing port 1433 through the firewall?
Which release of SQL Server are you using and have you applied the relevant minimum CU? Details here

  • Some reports in SCCM 2012 show no information

    Hello!
I have ran report "Computers with low free disk space (less than specified % free)" but it shows no information regardless of that what collection I select (All systems, custom created collections).
The reports about another hardware parts show the requested information successfully, for example about processor speed, hard disk space etc.
In addition to that, the report "Computers that meet the recommended system requirements for Windows 7" does not show any information either.
For information, the Hardware inventory works fine and there are no errors related to client status.
Also in report "Logical disk space history for a specific computer" I can't select Values for "Computer name field" as it's inactive.
I can't understand why some reports don't work correctly, as in SCCM2007 all worked fine without any reports and settings customization.
Does anyone encountered with such issues? Should I extend any inventory classes or enable any ones?

I have found some information about situation with free disk space reporting on URL http://e-enfra.blogspot.com/2012/02/sccm-2012-free-disk-space-is-not.html
I hope it will help me.
But the other questions still remain.

  • Boot\BCD error - SCCM 2012 R2

    Hi,
This is a last ditch attempt before I throw in the towel and rebuild the server.
I am running an SCCM 2012 R2 Hierarchy with two primaries and multiple distribution points.
One of our main DPs has started coming up with an error when pxe booting a windows 7 machine. This happened after a corrupt driver was added to the boot image. The driver was removed and all the DP's rolled back but the issue still remains on this server
alone. We use an IPhelper to point the pxe requests at this server.
    The error message is:
    File: \Boot\BCD
    Status: 0xc0000098
Info: The Windows Boot Configuration Data file does not contain a valid OS entry.
    I have tried the following:
    1. Removing the PXE role and reapplying it.
    2. Removing the Boot images and reapplying them.
    3. Removing the DP altogether from the console and reapplying.
    4. Removing all data from the DP and starting again.
    5. Redistributing the boot images. both x86 and x64
    6. creating a new boot image for both x86 and x64 and applying those.

    Hello,
Is your WDS running properly? If WDS is stopped, can you start it manually?
Or you get an error like 'The service did not respond in a timely fashion'?
The symptom is so similar to that I have encountered. You referred that you have tried to remove WDS, DP, but I wonder how. Before removing WDS and DP role, try to delete corrupt package in SCCMContentLib folder.
I just recreated SCCMContentLib, and WDS did start working. I guess there are corrupt packages in the my folder as well. But another problem occur, I installed all the roles on the same server in my lab, so it is a primary site server as well. As a result,
it seems that I have to re-deploy all the packages. Not sure if there is any further problem yet. Since it is just a lab environment, it doesn't matter for me.
I hope what I have done will give you some clue.

  • Help with Linking A Report in SCCM 2012

I've got a report that shows us Flash Players Versions by Count. I'd like to be able to create a linked report that shows the specific computers that have a specific version. The current report looks like this
I'd like to be able to click on a link in the Version column that would display the result of this somehow.
Are any SCCM 2012 reporting gurus out there that have done something like this?
For example, I'd like a link from the Version field to run a report that
    Orange County District Attorney

My first recommendation is to adjust the query you are currently using as it will only show you x86 software titles.
As for how to do it, that is easy (sort of). Write your two reports,Make sure that your second report have prompts of everything that you want to pass to it.
Now are you sign BIDS or RP to create your reports? You need to know this as it is a lot harder to do this with RB vs BIDS.

  • Software center permissions error, SCCM 2012

I'm getting a strange error in the software center.  The applications and packages deploy without any problems but users receive an error when trying to install the application or package through software center.  They receive the error "Insufficient
Permissions for Software Installation" and "Your IT department has set restrictions for this software that prevent it from installing on your computer".  I have attached the screenshot.  We are running SCCM 2012 on Server 2008 R2 with SQL Server
2008 R2 on a separate server.  If this is something that is configured on the server I don't remember ever doing it but I can't find that error anywhere on Google so I'm kind of at a loss for the moment.  Again, any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

EDIT: Found this in the SCCM Documentation Library doc file (Feb 1, 2013).
Why do I see an error message about insufficient permissions from a Windows Embedded device when I try to install software from Software Center?
You can install applications only when the write filter on the Windows Embedded device is disabled. If you try to install an application on a Windows Embedded device that has write filters enabled, you see an error message that you have insufficient
permissions to install the application and the installation fails.
