Report execution status
Dear members,
Is there a way to get the execution status (success / failure) of a Report from Forms (6i) when launched with "run_product" ?
Any clue will be much welcome,
I've seen this often here. Check the log files on the OWB server and you may see that control center service was force restarted. I have an SR opened with Oracle on this.
The symptoms I've seen are:
1. The mapping reports success
2. Some or all of the levels of the mapping show "*" for the statistics
3. The mapping completion time shows the mapping start time.

Dear members,

Any clue will be much welcome,Hello,
The RUN_PRODUCT built-in is a procedure, and does not return any report jobid information, which can be used to track the report job's status at a later point programmatically. Further, RUN_PRODUCT is a generic procedure capable of calling many other Oracle products from Forms.
In order to be able to track the success/failure of your report run from Forms, you should use the RUN_REPORT_OBJECT builtin, which is a function that returns a jobid value, which can be used to ascertain the report's status using the REPORT_OBJECT_STATUS builtin. Please take a look at the Forms Builder Online Help for the syntax and usage examples of these builtins.

Why OWB Execution status report showing wrong status ?
Hi,
I created a process flow. It executed successfuly.
In that process flow I used 4 mappings. and the data is updated in 4 tables. In all the tables data updated successfully.
But the execution status is showing that , in one table the records inserted are 0.
I verified in the Runtime Assistant. There it shows correctly.
Why it is showing like that?
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks and regards

Discrepancy in report execution duration
Hello,
Everyday we are executing audit reports which tells us report execution time for all our daily scheduled reports. Here we have observed some discrepancy between the time shown in the instance history verses auditing report's data. For example, if XYZ report took 120 seconds to execute, our auditing report shows 110 seconds only (-10 sec difference); however instance status in report history shows 120 sec only.
Here are environment details:
Product: SAP BI 4.0 SP6 Patch 6
Server OS: Windows Server 2008 R2
CMS DB: Oracle 11g R2
Auditing DB: Oracle 11g R2
We would like to know why there is a difference? Please advise!

Runtime error and mapping execution status
We have set maximum no of error parameter to = 50. When our mapping encounters an exception like Unable to extend space on some table space and at the time of encoutnering this exception no of error count is less than 50 - mapping returns success status. With the result that execution pipe continues with the next mapping. Though we would like to keep error count to 50 or higher value - so as not to interrupt the pipe if there is an insertion or updation failure but we would like the mapping to stop when space error or such an exception comes. Please let us know how can we achieve this.
Borkur,
I believe that if you look at the execution status in Workflow Monitor, you'll see that Workflow handles and reports status correctly within the top level flow and all subprocesses.
However, OWB Audit information for subflows is NOT registered as expected, the subflows always appear with status successful to me, even when mappings fail. I'm not sure whether it is a bug or that success actually means that the flow has concluded/finished (as opposed to status busy). I've had difficulty with OWB Workflow language before, as eg. the workflow AND operator has nothing to do with execution status logic, only with sequencing (ie. a wait-for-all-before-continuing-operator). The operator name and icon graphics are counter-intuitive to me.

COPA Report - Execution in Background
Friends,
We have a COPA report that takes very long time to execute. For this reason the user wants to schedule the report such that it executes in the background at month-end.
In order to test the scheduling of the report execution in background in Development system, I followed the following steps:
1) Selected the report to be executed using the t-code KE30.
2) Clicked on Report - Execute in background.
3) Filled in the execution parameters and since I did not want the print of the report, I ticked the checkbox 'Rebuild frozen report data' (I was getting the error message "Select either 'Print' or 'Save'".
4) Executed the report by pressing F8. I got the message 'Report data for the report saved'.
My question is how to view the report on screen when the report is executed in background?
Please advise at the earliest.
Thanks & Regards,

You cannot see this data as it is.
When you see the message 'Report data for the report saved'. It means that the system has performed a kind of summarization for the selection criteria you have entered. This is performance enhancement tool.
So you have to run the report again to view this report; but this time choose the option Read saved Data for the Read Mode under Status of Data. You can get to the see report output fairly quick.
SAP documnetation reads thus " <b>You create report-specific frozen report data by executing the report in the background and by choosing the Rebuild frozen report data option in the selection. When you call up the report again using the same selection, you have the option of displaying this frozen report data. If you would like more up-to-date frozen report data, you need to create this data again."</b>
Good luck.

Software Distribution results in "The exit code is 1, the execution status is FailureNonRetry"
I am using sccm 2007 to deploy Symantec Edntpoint Protection. The software is installed OK but the execmgr.log shows "The exit code is 1, the execution status is FailureNonRetry" and registry entry for the package shows failure code 1 and status as failure. However, the application runs properly without any problem.
I recall that someone posted that if you let the system to reboot after installation, the installation would be logged as successful. However, I tried both "Software restarts computer" and "ConfigMgr restarts computer", but both configuration settings did not re-start the computer and I still get exit code 1.
Any suggestions?
I am also wondering if there is anyway to prompt the user for a manual reboot of the system after the installation.
Thanks.
StephenHi Stephen,
the configmgr client reports the exit code which was returned by your package installation. For example if an install package returns an exit code 1, it will be reported as error, if it returns exit code 0, it will be reported as success - whether or not the package "really" installed successful or failed.
The setting "Program restarts computer" will not reboot your client but assumes that the package you created automatically reboots the client after installation.
My suggestion is to verify/modify that your software package returns exit code 0.
This post may help you as it details how to deploy Symantec Endpoint Protection as an msi (not setup.exe) to also prevent the exit code 1 http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/smslist/archive/2009/01/05/mssms-symantec-endpoint-protection-deployment-77s677.aspx -
How to generate a MSDS report from status GP (Generation possible) to RE
Hi EHS Goeroes,
I'm struggling with the Generation of the MSDS. I have done the following procedure and settings:
a) Create MSDS report (CG42)
b) Edit Generation Variant (CG2B)
Settings:
(I have assigned my template to the Generation Variant)
Generate manual request automatically: marked
Change Marks: 0
Initial release status: RE (released)
Version requirement: unmarked
Set historical automatically: unmarked
c) EHS > Specification Workbench > Report from Template (to test the design - display is correct and all phrases can be found)
d) EHS > Specification Workbench > Create new report
(report has been created succesfully and appears in Report Management).
e) EHS > Specification Workbench > Report Management:
MSDS_29 Material Safety Data Sheet for China World
Chinese Not Relevant Generation Poss. => generation possible.
Feedback affter clicking on Accept: You tried to carry out action 'Accept' on a report with status GP. However, this action is not allowed for reports with this status.
Feedback after clicking on Generate: You tried to carry out action 'Generate' on a report with status GP. However, this action is not allowed for reports with this status.
d) SE38 I have no jobs scheduled yet, so I run the following two programs to start the worklist manually, RC1AVGE1 and RC1AVGE2.
RC1AVGE1 - gave allot of feedback information regarding to changes and so on (first time I run it).
RC1AVGE2 - feedback: EHS: 'Worklist Generation for Reports - Selection for Check. - 0 reports to be checked were found'
From my understanding program RC1AVGE2 - should generate the MSDS.
e) WWI - monitor display (CG5Z):

110 @03\QNo background processes in client@ 5 SBR WWI-00000000000000000063 FREE A132645
xxx SV001 @5B\QWWI server is active@ @02\QNo background processes on WWI server@
xxx SV003 @5C\QWWI server is inactive@ @02\QNo background processes on WWI server@
I checked if I had any jobs running in the background or has been finished, but it seems like it goes wrong here, the system does not generate a job for the generation of the MSDS_29. To be able to get the status of MSDS_29 to RE (Released).
Does anybody has an idea what I do wrong, or which settings might be incorrect? Futhermore, what are the further steps to issue the report in the SD module - report shipping?
Help is much appreciated!
Roy DerksHi Roy,
Check and activate the QWWI server for the second job wwi - 110. Try once to generate the MSDS.
I will revert back if i get information.

Help! about process chain execution status
hi:
we nearly have one problem about the process chain execution status,
when error occured during process chian execution, we fixed it in time,
however, even the error repaired, its status still showed yellow, and this
stop the subsequent process to excute.
Any body who can provide some help to solve this problem? thanks in advance
and looking forward to one reply.Hi ,
Try this method
Open the messages of a failed step by right clicking on it and selecting 'display messages'.
In the opened popup click on the tab 'Chain'.
In a parallel session goto transaction se16 for table rspcprocesslog and display the entries with the following selections:
1. copy the variant from the popup to the variante of table rspcprocesslog
2. copy the instance from the popup to the instance of table rspcprocesslog
3. copy the start date from the popup to the batchdate of table rspcprocesslog
Press F8 to display the entries of table rspcprocesslog.
Now open another session and goto transaction se37. Enter RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH as the name of the function module and run the fm in test mode.
Now copy the entries of table rspcprocesslog to the input parameters of the function module like
described as follows:
1. rspcprocesslog-log_id -> i_logid
2. rspcprocesslog-type -> i_type
3. rspcprocesslog-variante -> i_variant
4. rspcprocesslog-instance -> i_instance
5. enter 'G' for parameter i_state (sets the status to green).
Now press F8 to run the fm.
Now the actual process will be set to green and the following process in the chain will be started and the chain can run to the end.

Reporting Services R2 log entries have stopped generating on report execution.
Hi -
I have a new instance of a reporting server and the log files have quit generating on report execution.
When the services restart this is the log file:
rshost!rshost!8e8!01/22/2014-17:08:33:: i INFO: CLR runtime is initialized.
rshost!rshost!8e8!01/22/2014-17:08:33:: i INFO: Derived memory configuration based on physical memory as 3931704 KB
rshost!rshost!8e8!01/22/2014-17:08:33:: w WARN: Failed to initialize performance counters: ffffffff. Possible setup issue.
rshost!rshost!8e8!01/22/2014-17:08:33:: e ERROR: Failed to start service, error=1063.
We have logging turned on on the server. Report Server Mode is Native. Dont see anything in the application log about failed service.
Any ideas?Hi dwrco,
Have you recently install any update such as MS12-070 (KB2716440)? If so, it is a known issue for some patches for SQL Server. The reason is as follows:
When a .NET application starts up, the .NET Framework tries to check if the Microsoft assemblies are right and have not been modified, this is done through connecting to a server that has a revocation list in internet. When the framework tries to connect
to the server to check if it has access to internet with an elevated timeout, this makes that any other .NET application that has less timeout setting fails (such as SSIS or SSRS) with timeout error.
For example, the error message "The request failed or the service did not respond in a timely fashion." means that the SSRS timeout is lower than the timeout of the connection to the revoke list server established by .NET Framework.
To work around the issue, we usually use two approaches:
Increase the value of ServicesPipeTimeout registry key of Reporting Services
Disable generatePublisherEvidence element of ReportingServicesService.exe.config file
For the detailed steps, please see:

Approval Date

Thanks
DanieleHi Daniel,
You will probably have to create a join with the MSP_ASSIGNMENT_TRANSACTIONS Table.
See reference here:

Stored subprogram execution status
Hi Friends,
I need a information regarding PL/SQL stored procedure and function.
My query is whenever i am executing a pl/sql procedure or function, how can i get the execution status of that stored procedure or function..that means whether it is already executed or still running.
Is there any data dictionary views provided by oracle or any supplied packages to track this.
Pls help me.....
Thanx and Regadrs
somyum.. what i am telling you is the similar thing whats been done in my application,
create or replace procedure p_test is
being
--make one table execution_state
--make an entry for procedure p_test = 'BUSY'
-- this should be done at very start when procedure is executed
--if procedure is successfully completed make the state p_test = 'IDLE'
exception
--if there is an exception make state p_test = 'ERROR'
end;
now if you want to check where this procedure
is running just query the table execution_state
for entry p_test if the state is BUSY
i.e. procedure is running,
if its IDLE its successfully completed
like this you can trace it,Message was edited by:

Oracle Apps - How to create a table before report execution?
Hi,
I'm new to oracle apps, I created a procedure to get some values for a report and created a query to get the remaining values. Now I need to populate those values into a temporary table and after the report execution I have to delete the table. In apps there is no before parameter form. If any one can help me, that will great.
Thanks in advance.Hi,
Do you really need to create a table INSIDE the report? It doesn't look like a good idea to me. For instance, what happens if 2 users try to execute the report at the same time? I would create a global temporary table before any execution of the report, and then I would just populate the data in the table in the 'Before Report' trigger. The data in a global temporary table is only visible at session level, so you wouldn't have any problems with multiple users executing the report at the same time and the data disappears once you finish your session, so you don't need to take care of deleting the data.
Hope it helps. -
Report execution time should displayed in Local Time
Hi,
I have a query related to the Report execution time.
Our SAP Servers are available in US. The Servers are configured in US Time.
We have developed a Z report and used SY-UZEIT to display the Report Run Time.
we also have a plant in India.
When we execute this report for India Plant we are getting the execution run time for US.
But we need to get the run time in India Time.
Please help ASAP.
Regards,
ShankarHi Shankaran,
In your Z report, give a condition to check if the Plant is in India. If it is in india, then get SY-UZEIT and add the time difference to get IST.
Display this time on your report.
For implementing this, you will have to convert the Date and Time into Timestamp (use FM "LXHME_TIMESTAMP_CONVERT_INTO"), add the Time to this Time stamp (use FM "TIMESTAMP_DURATION_ADD" and convert it back to Date and Time (use FM "LXHME_TIMESTAMP_CONVERT_FROM").
Reward points if useful.
regards,
Raj
