Report experience

Hi, xperts
I really got good knowledge from SDN .
I am very thank full to all guys, who believe to share our though and to help.
Creating report on infoset,
Selection screen having fields
1 – Vendor (range)
2 – Company code
3 – Profit Center (range)
4 – Posting date (range)
Want output field.
1-     Opening balance.
2-      Period balance in 0-30, 30-60, 60-90, 90-365 (days total 4 column) .
3-     Vendor
Opening balance column --- need balance amount (I have) of vendor, till the previous date of postig date(low value) in variable.
Period balance—
This should come according to given posting date for report.

Examples you can use
Variable of key date
CKF1 total balance 0-30 open = RKF1 balance 0-30 open + RKF2 balance 0-30 cleared
RKF1 item status = 0 posting date <= key date 0deb_cre_amt_lc. due date between key date and key date +30 (in the variable offset)
RKF2 cleared date > key date, 0deb_cre_amt_lc, due date between key date and key date +30 (in the variable offset) posting date <= key date
Then repeat for the rest of the aging but change the variable offsets (you end up with quite a few CKFs and RKFs)
Take some time to go through the above example to really understand what is going on - then it will become clear what is happening
BTW - I don;t think you are going to see profit centres - as the AR4 shouldn;t contain the proft centre as that is a revenue.cost posting (ie the opposite side of the FI jnl)
ie one AP posting can have multiple profit centres on them
And what are you going to do about partially allocated/referenced items? ie credit notes or accounting journals
Not a good idea to have a posting date range
What I would do with this is to split it up into two queries - one an aged creditor and the other a Vendor turnover by profit centre

  • How to Invoke a report from java?

    Hi,
I am a java / web developer with no reports experience.
We wish do the following from a java based web application:
On a web page we have two buttons
    1) Print
    2) Create file.
We want these two buttons to perform the following tasks:
    1) The print button should run a predefined report with a set of parameters and send the output to a printer.
    2) The Create File button should run a predefined report with a set of parameters and send the output to a rtf file on a temp area, which the java app can pick up for further processing.
Both actions should be triggered from the web app without the need for users
to have any knowledge of reports at all.
    We are running ias 9.0.2.3.
Is the use of the plsql SRW package the best way to achieve this kind of functionality
or are there other JAVA APIs or any other ways to solve this scenario?
    Any comments appreciated!

  • Understanding Oracle BI Mobile App

In ["New Features" of BIP 11.1.1.5 |http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-publisher/bip-11115-newfeatures-395605.pdf] you can read:
Native and Web App for iPad & iPhone
+More and more business tasks are performed on mobile devices like iPhone and iPad, so why not browse reports and interact with your data on your mobile device with BI Publisher? Simply access your BI Publisher reports with Safari or other browsers on your iPad or iPhone, or install the Oracle BI Mobile App for iPhone and iPad to enjoy the same rich, fast interactive reporting experience as on your desktop or laptop.+
I tried to connect the BI Mobile App (Ipad) with my BIP 11.1.1.6 installation with no success:
    Error 404--Not Found
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.5 404 Not Found
Am I wrong with my understanding? Why I can't connect?
    What's the minimal setup?
Or do I need to install the (whole) BI Suite?
The "New Features" List makes me think that BI Publisher Standalone is sufficient!?
    Thank you,
    Florian.

    Hi
Importing apps into the Apperian platform is very easy. There is no SDK or other limitation that is required for the app to work once deployed with Apperian. Inboarding is a very easy and quick process that requires the binary and some metadata information from the administrator and takes a couple of minutes max.
Apperian also provides a Publishing API (public) that enables one-button integration from a development platform into Apperian. While Oracle BI Mobile App Designer is not yet integrated that way, it is a very quick process that took very little effort with other platforms.
Once inboarded, any process to integrate the app with company policies (via inspection of the app, applying security or adoption policies, integration with corporate identity management, etc.) is done without having to rebuild the app. All in all, it is a very easy process to follow.
    Hope this helps!

  • Using COGNOS as an infoprovider/data source for WebI...?

I saw a job posting today that listed a requirement that I am pretty sure is IMPOSSIBLE...
WebIntelligence report experience with using COGNOS as an infoprovider/data source for BOBJ is an important skill.
Data sources for client will be both COGNOS and SAP.
Now, it wouldn't be the first time that a client spec asked for the IMPOSSIBLE- but it got me to wondering if maybe I am wrong in my understanding that COGNOS 8 still uses PowerPlay cubes that are 100% proprietary and can only be read with the CONGOS report-design tools.
Is there actually a "supported" way to use COGNOS as an infoprovider/data source for BOBJ...?
Maybe using some COGNOS equivalent of QAAS...?
I have no intention of applying for this job - but would like to know if it is technically possible.

It's been more than a week since I posted this question and nobody came up with a "YES" here or on the BOB Forums...so I am going to close this question as an IMPOSSIBLE request.
Based on the current technology - COGNOS cubes can not be used as an infoprovider/data source for WebIntelligence.

  • Organisation management or business partner groups

    Hi,
we are using the change request management in the SAP solution manager. All relevant persons are modelled as business partners.
As we want to use our organisation management (from our SAP-HCM-System) to build the organizational structure of our company.
Does anybody synchronized the organisational structure or would be to create business partner groups the better way, because only some departments are using the crm.
Thanks for any hints and reported experiences.
    Kind regards
    Peter Lintner

Synchronization with HR can of course be done. But if you don't need so complex organization on crm side or even what to have it a bit different, then you can build on crm organization from scratch. That's what we did.

    Lucky you
I thing we are looking at EU Directives here on power saving.
The BT Extender data gives 1 min inactivity on the ethernet port then goes into power saving.
So if I'm reading a long article that is already loaded I could be effectively disconnected, then it will depend how fast the power line adaptor comes back up before the Hub says.....
Don't know what to do. Cat5 would have to go through a wall. The ambient temp' dropped when I mention this to Judith

This is a forum for Reporting Services (SSRS). If you're using Jasper reports then you should be posting in relevenat forums. I'm not sure there would be enough people with Jasper report experience here to help you out!
Anyways in SSRS when  we use Temp tables in procedure it will throw exception in editor but when you save and run it will still work fine. Did you try saving it and executing report? Did the error still persisted?

    4. Total Exp in Forms/Repots is 08 years.
I m confused to join the latest Oracle Products.
Now a days, Oralce has many latest products. So pl guide/advice me best Oracle Product to
    suit my experience.
    Oracle E-Business Suite ? Oracle Financials ? Oracle Apps ? Oracle 11g Form/Report ? Oralce 11g Java Developer ? Oracle 11g Java with ADF ? ....etc.
    Thanks & Regards.
    Sukhvinder Singh

    Hi,
It's depends with your final goal.
    01. If you want to be a good programmer then you might need to think about moving in to Java with Oracle (Ex: ADF Faces). Here its good to move from Oracle Forms and Reports because most of the companies start migrating their Forms/Reports applications into different technologies. Mainly to Java. Even Oracle Corporation itself provide more guidance for this.
    02. Oracle E-Business Suite is one of the best ERP application. But again this application has many modules. So if you wnat to be a application specialist then you have to deside some area (Ex: HR, GL) and then expert on this. Because application specialist need to have in-depth knowledge in some area.
    03. Oracle E-Business Suite has another area for those who build new reports, integrate with other applications. For this area you don't need in-depth knowledge. (But you need to have some knowledge in those modules). But here you need to have very good PL/SQL and Report Experience. Because you have experience in Reports and PL/SQL , you need to get some knowledge in E-Business Suite and other integration techniques. (This area is always depends with the current trend. So you need to do more research on it and find whether your living area has any demand for e-Business Suite)
    04. Oracle Warehouse Builder is another good area. Because these days almost all the companies start using historical details and most of the companies understand the important to have a data warehouse application. So its a good thing to get to know warehouse builder and related ETL technologies as well.
I just gave MY OWN IDEA with my experience. Someone else can have other ideas (sometimes against the things I mentioned here.). So all comments are welcome!!
    Thanks,

  • Photoshop CS4 and 2 graphic cards

I have a Apple pro last model with 2 graphic cards:
    1) ATI RADEON HD 2600 XT
    2) NVIDIA G FORCE 8800 GT
I need 2 video cards since i do work with 4 monitors all togheter (i'm a photogrpaher and video maker).
The huge problem is that PS CS4 seems to not support OpenGL using 2 cards.
If i disconnect the montiors connected to one video card (no metter which one) i can use OpenGL capabilites, but with 4 monitors i cannot.
    Any idea/help and hopefully solutions?
    Thanks in advance
    MG

    Marcog,
    Yes. I knwo
for sure. Read my reply. I went through all sorts of testing when CS4 was released. YOU MUST demount the card to fully test. Apple's video drivers are messed up. Only demounting a card will clear up their confusion. Needing identical video cards may be a hard pill to swallow, but that doesn't make it any less true.
I have first-hand experience here with my system. When CS4 was released I was running 2-nVidia7300 Cards. Limited GL features and known crash issues with those cards. I purchased 1 nVidia 8800 card and installed it. So, at that point I was running 1-7300 and 1-8800, GL was not avaialble at all. Installing the AllowOldGPUs plug in allowed GL but there was constant crashing. I then bit the bullet and purchased a second 8800 card. Today, 2-nVidia 8800 Cards, all GL features, including advanced drawing, are supported and I have not had a crash since.
If you do a simple Google search you'll also find other places where users are reporting crashes and in almost all cases where video cards are discussed, they are running two non-identical cards. In several of the cases they report experiences similar to mine, where installing identical cards corrects all issues.
Ramon, with all due respect, has no direct experience and is simply basing his reply on technical documents and hearsay.
If you choose not to beleive me, thats obviously your perogative. However, I've been there, done that. It's now up to you to sort it yourself if you won't listen to others.
As for noone else reporting this.. perhaps the following thread may assist you if you'd rather not search yourself.
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b6e56d/47
    Ramon,
The bumblebee isn't supposed to be able to fly either.
    Here:
    3 monitors, 2-nVidia 8800 Cards.
    Card1 = 30" Apple Cinema, and 20" Apple Cinema
    Card2 = 24" Dell Ultrasharp
I can move a document window to any of the three monitors and rotate the canvas, zoom, pan, and all the juicy GL stuff without a problem.
I would guess that the tech note is more of a safety net, possibly? All I know is it works here with two cards and there are no issues (provided the cards are identical).

  • New Mac Pro Due...Monitor Options

    Hi,
I've ordered a new MP, due in 3-4 weeks, but now I need a Monitor. I also have a late 2012 iMac 27".
I'm a semi-pro photographer who prints so a monitor that calibrates reasonably well is important. I find the iMac is not so great.
I'm considering Dell U2713H, Viewsonic VP2722, NEC PA272W and good old Apple Thunderbolt Display.
Does anyone have any experiences to share in terms of getting the ATD to profile well for printing. The price of the Dell and Viewsonic is nicer but I have heard bad reports about OSX issues with the Dell
    Grateful for any reports/experience
    Thx
    Paul

I haven't used most of the models you listed, but it would be very hard to go wrong with the NEC PA272, especailly if you buy a calibrator that is compatible with the monitor's internal calibration through DisplayPort (like the SpectraView that comes bundled if you buy that version). The PA272 totally blows away the Apple display no matter how you look at it: Gamut size, calibration accuracy, calibration versatility (multiple presets), tilt and pivot, KVM capability... The only measure where the Apple is better is that it costs a little less.
I'm a big Apple fan but there's no way you could convince me to take an Apple Thunderbolt display over the PA272.
The Dell looks like a good alternative because it seems of the same generation as the NEC. Another one to look at which seems to use similar hardware as the Dell & NEC is the Asus PA series. All three use wide-gamut GB-LED panels if I am not mistaken, so that puts all of them in a class above most consumer monitors. I don't know much about the ViewSonic.
Overall I'd say the Dell and Asus would be the reasonable mid-price options (though I have also heard some OS X issues with the Asus too), the NEC for the tried and true though more expensive, and the Apple display not really in the running. Compared to the Apple, the other three monitors use much more up-to-date and wide-gamut panel technology and simply have more useful features than the Apple.
