Report Export 64k rows?
Is it now possible to export a report of more than 64k rows now that Excel has increase this limit? If so, how?
Thanks!
Hi,
Yes you can export more than 64k rows.
1) Create a SQL Query region and enter your SQL.
2) In Report Attributes in Maximum Row Count enter 99999999
3) In Report Export, enable CSV output

Access Report exporting to Excel Horizontally
I've got a rather large report in Access, based on a couple of forms.
When i preview it looks fine, Textboxes are all in order with the make and model then the data in text boxes in a column below.
There are 7 columns of text boxes like this.
When I export to a PDF, it's in the right format, 7 columns next to each other.
When I export to Word and even a text file it works fine.
When I export to Excel, they all go horizontal...textbox name in row 1 and all the data in row 2, clear to column IV and that's it.
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you for any help.
GeeHi Gee,
According to the desription, when the report exported to Excel, the layout is incorrect.
Based on my test, the Access doesn't export the textbox into Excel, it just export the data in the report. Here are the test steps for your reference:
1. Create a table with some fields in Access 2013
2. Create a reprot based on the table by default
3. Export the report to Excel by External data->Export->Excel
Did I misunderstood? Also a demo database to help us reproduce this issue is much appreciate.
Regards & Fei

Report Export option on the top
Hi In Oracle Apex reports,
Can we have Report Export option on top and bottom simultaneously?
Thanks,Hi,
You can't do that using any report settings as such, but you could update a report template to do that. In a report template, you can use #CSV_LINK# wherever you want the export option to appear. By default, this is underneath the report (in the "After Rows" template setting), but you could also add this in above the report (in the "Before Rows" template setting).
When working with templates, it is always a good idea to work on a copy of an existing template - especially if the change is only for one report. In Shared Components, Templates, create a new Report Template and base this on a copy of your existing template. Once created, make the change as above and Apply Changes. Then, on your report, switch its template to your new one.

Expense Report Export - Payment Method is invalid
Hi all,
We are using 12.1.3 . We entered data for creating invoices via Payables > Invoice > Entry > Expense Reports. After submitted Expense Report Export with source - Payables Expense Reports no invoices was created. We can see in Expenses: Export Results/JSP/ the error : Payment Method is invalid. Any idea how to debug this? We have already payment methods defined and their statuses are 'Active'.
Thanks in advance,
Bahchevanov.Hi all,
When creating an employee we have checked the option each employee to be a supplier too. But when trying to find that employee as supplier/or even as employee/ we received no rows as result via Suppliers JSP... Any ideas how is that possible?
Thanks,
Bahchevanov. -
Report Export without the report itself
Hello everyone and Happy New Year!
Is there a way to display "Report Export" link (button, function, procedure, or whatever) on a page WITHOUT having to display the report itself?
Using Oracle 10g and ApEx 2.0.
TIA
VojinCarl:<p>
thanks for your reply. I have to admit, at first, I had no clue where to start from. Being a novice, my facial expression was like my 2-year old if I was to tell her to "just make me a cup of coffee." How does one "just create a report template"?
<p>
Anyway, looks like it worked. I went to "Shared Components", selected templates under "User Interface." Then I copied a "standard" template from, renamed it, and deleted everything, except for:
<p>
</table><div class="t10CVS">#EXTERNAL_LINK##CSV_LINK#</div></td></tr>#PAGINATION#</table>
<p>
located in the After Rows region.
<p>
The best "look" was when I used a new custom template, and used "no template" for User Interface template. So, the only thing displayed on that part of the page is "EXPORT TO SPREADSHEET" link. It is, however, surrounded with couple of inches of blank space above, as well as below the link. Maybe your comment about "placeholder comment tags" (what is coffee, daddy?) will solve this issue, but I did not have time to play with it.
<p>
The export function itself works great. Again, thanks a bunch for your advice!<p>

Ok It's been 2 days now and I'm forced to ask for help. It's such a tiny detail but it's making me crazy. My boss is going to kill me.
This particular report exports to excel, and when a frame doesn't fit the current page, it moves the complete frame and all it's content to the next page. This is OK, it's a reports feature and it works perfectly.
This problem is when exporting to excel and tries to export the non-fitting-in-the-first-page frame, I get the rows that didn't fit in the first page AND the rows that finally make to the NEXT page. So I'm getting duplicate rows.
At the moment I'm trying separate repeating columns with srw.get_page_num(<global var in pkg>), but I fail.
excel output: (the report output works fine)

Web report Export to Excel Issue
Hi,
I've tried to look at one of the issues already logged about the Export to Excel functionality and I was not able to find a solution to my problem.
In my organization we are using BW 3.5. And when I run a web report, and try to export to excel a 15000 line report, I'm always getting only the first 400 or 500 rows. If I go to the last line and try to do the same, I will then get the full report exported to excel.
Any idea why this is happening?
Thanks,
JSTry to run the report using the 0ANALYZER template and see whether you can replicate the issue. If the behavior is same with 0ANALYZER then it will be a issue with SAP code.

Hi All,
I have one developed SSRS report which is a matrix report (having customer name in column area and customer code in row area);
and it is working ok no issue here.
Now I want to do something like :
Is it possible while exporting to excel, I can interchange rows data to columns data and columns data to rows data ? (so that customer name comes in row area; and customer code comes in column area)
Hope question is straight forward and clear.
RegardsHi ,
I have tried to do dynamic grouping based on the Format of rendering, however in dynamic grouping not allowed to use the Global Built-In Fields, Variables, ReportItems collections.
Finally only way left for us to use our classical trick to set the visibility on and off.
This trick can be applied by creating two different Matrix and show one matrix depending on Format rendering.
My trick is to create two groups within the matrix and hide and show one group based on format rendering.
I have created detailed level of post in below link.

Report export to csv - no data found in report
Hi all,
I've followed the steps to export my report to a csv file. In the Report Attributes, Report Export section I have:
Enable CSV output: Yes Separator: , Enclosed By:
Link Label: Export
Filename: Changes.xls
But when I open it in excel, no data found is the only test showing in cell A1.
Is there something else I need to do? I don't understand why it's not exporting my report - there is data on my screen in the report.
Thanks,
DaveDave,
Have a look in my blog:
http://deneskubicek.blogspot.com/2007/03/csv-export-problem.html
There is an explanation on how to avoid that.

Will SUBMIT report EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY work, when Run in Background?
You can use SUBMIT <report> EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY, and then Call the FM LIST_FROM_MEMORY to get the Data.
This works fine, when the Program is Run in Foreground. My question is, will it work when I Run the Program in Background? i.e. When I Run the Program in Background, will the SUBMIT Statement, Export the List to Memory? Because only then the FM LIST_FROM_MEMORY will get the Data.
Any alternate solution to meet the same requirement will be appreciated.It works for me... my spool output looked like:

Added the following to the instanceconfig :

<Export xsi:type="excel">
<DataValue>UseFormattedValue</DataValue>
<RepeatRows>false</RepeatRows>
</Export>
</Download>

See this part of the query:
<br><br>
if :P15_GESTOR_PROPIETARI='-3' then<br>
w:= w||' AND (("STASVWREPORT_TASQUES"."GES_GES_ID"=:GESTOR ';<br>
w:= w||'OR "STASVWREPORT_TASQUES"."GES_GES_ID_ESTA_ASSIGNADA"=:GESTOR)';<br>
w:= w||'OR ("STASVWREPORT_TASQUES"."AGR_***_***_ID"=<FONT color=red>:P15_CANVI_DE_CLUB</FONT> ';
w:= w||' AND "STASVWREPORT_TASQUES"."PUBLICA"=''S''))';<br>
end if;<br>
<br>
when instead of :P15_CANVI_DE_CLUB I put a value (say ''EE'') it works correctly, finally I created an application item (ASSOCIAT) and when when I change :P15_CANVI_DE_CLUB I set :ASSOCIAT to the same value and the query is based on this application item:
<br><br>
if :P15_GESTOR_PROPIETARI='-3' then<br>
w:= w||' AND (("STASVWREPORT_TASQUES"."GES_GES_ID"=:GESTOR ';<br>
w:= w||'OR "STASVWREPORT_TASQUES"."GES_GES_ID_ESTA_ASSIGNADA"=:GESTOR)';<br>
w:= w||'OR ("STASVWREPORT_TASQUES"."AGR_***_***_ID"=<FONT color=red>:ASSOCIAT </FONT>';<br>
w:= w||' AND "STASVWREPORT_TASQUES"."PUBLICA"=''S''))';<br>
end if;<br>

Crystal Reports export and print fails with SSL / https but works with http
Windows 2008 Server, 32-bit (IIS7)
ASP.NET 2.0
Ajax 1.0
Crystal Reports version 10.5.3700.0
http: printing works, export works
https: printing not working, only export to MS Excel and MS Word work.
I am able to generate reports using both http and https, and the toolbar icons are all showing. However, I am unable to print or export properly with SSL.
Printing prompts me with a select printer window, and then a window 'Retrieving Page 1' follow by two messages from Crystal Print Control both stating:
A communication error occured. Printing will be stopped.
Exporting generates various errors depending on which export method is being selected (however Excel and Word work over https).
I've found the same problem on this site and other forums, but never a resolution to get exporting and printing to work with SSL. Will someone please provide me assistance or possibly relay what settings they're using if they have Crystal Reports export or printing working over SSL in IIS7? Everything works fine when I change the address from https to http.
Please let me know if I can help by providing further information. We've gone through a great deal of possible solutions with code and I'm currently looking in to IIS settings again.
Thank you.Thanks Ludek. I got it by searching KB number.
Unfortunately, it didn’t fix my problem even my IE (IE8 and IE 9) has correct setting. I double check my version. PrintControl.CAB is version 10.2.0.1146. we use VS 2005 Crystal report and VB .NET. It works fine on HTTP. But when we use HTTPS (SSL Certificate from go daddy).
1: Crystal report export
Export to MS Excel, Word: pop us “File download”, then click “Save”. It says “Internet Explorer cannot download ReportView.aspx from my site. Internet Explorer was not able to open this internet site. the requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try it again later”
Export to RPt, Rich text format: It says “Internet Explorer cannot download ReportView.aspx from my site. Internet Explorer was not able to open this internet site. the requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try it again later”
Export to PDF : nothing happened.
2: Print:
Pop up dialog to select printer, click “Print” “. Shows windows “Crystal Report Viewer” and pop us error message box. Title is “Crystal Print Control”. Message is “An communication error occurred. Printing will be stopped”. Click “OK” and pop up error message box again.
Please advise.
Thank you very much! -
Apex 4.0.1 classic report export
Hello once again all you Application Express experts.
I am having some difficulty getting an apex classic report to export the results of the report grid.
This is a classic report being run, not interactive.
It is also as an SQL Query (PL/SQL function body returning sql query) for the report identification type.
The function body is of decent size, maybe 200 lines at most, but i have narrowed it down a couple of problematic lines.
The report runs perfectly when I take out the follow line from the function...
v_return := v_return || 'AND instr('':'' || ''' || :p3_status || ''' || '':'','':'' || xel.employment_status || '':'') > 0 ';
So :p3_status is a checkbox item on the page, with three options: Active, Terminated, Retired.
In the repeatable failure scenario :p3_status = 'Active'.
One of the interesting parts is the report grid always returns the right results to the screen, it is just the report export that fails.
It never errors, it just returns a no data response to the file being exported.
This is Application Express v 4.0.1 running on Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bit.
Any thoughts or any troubleshooting hints anyone can provide?
Thanks,
HaydenHayden,
Why do u need to append the item value in the PLSQL function body when apex will take of that(using its bind value).
Your predicate is actually a static one since only the item value changes (and that can be handled by its bind value). So avoid concatenating it in the function body to build the clause(which has the additional problem of passing in the item value to the function)
Change it to
v_return := v_return || q'!AND INSTR(':'||:p3_status||':',xel.employment_status) > 0!';
Notice that the :p3_status item evaluation happens only in the apex page
Also making use of the q function to escape quotes, it makes life much more easier in these cases.
