Report-generation with Excel97 (german-version)

When I send values to excel97 (german) using "excel easy table.vi" (numeric or string format) or "Append Numeric Table to Report.vi" the values are not represented as numbers but as text. Only after double-click on the cell (same as additional enter) excel automatically takes it as a number. (Not possible/stupid with large number of values.)
How can I make excel dirctly accept my values?

Sorry, been on Holiday...
The number is aligned left in the excel cell and ignored in further calculations. (See the attached example).
Meanwhile I found some "trick": I run an excel-macro to reformat all cells (should be included in the example-file).
But is this the right way (takes time), or is it possible to make excel directly accept the values?

Maybe you already know this but the font settings is a cluster of 4 elements: 2 integers and 2 strings. The 2 integers are character set and weight. They default to -1. The two strings are font name and font size. The default to blank strings. Are you wiring this cluster into your font settings terminal? Do you have -1, -1, Arial, and a number for font size inside the cluster (I use 4 for HTML reports)?

Where can I finf this ? I have 3 Cds with labview:Labview 7 express, national instruments device drivers and DIAdem.
I have download an install update bur does not work.

Report Generation with Endeca

Hi ,
We are trying to implement the Endeca Logging and Report Generation in our application. I have followed LogServerReportGen.pdf provided by Endeca.
1. We implemented logging API calls in our code.
2. Created a logserver component in Workbench and specified all the neccessary details
3. Created a report generation componentin Workbech
When i am trying to start the Report Generation component its failing, i am not able to figure out what is the problem here.
Aslo do we need to develop and new script and provision it in workbech for Generating report ? How this report generation works.
Can some one list out what i am missing ?

Hi Praving,
I tried to run it from scripts tab in Workbench admin console. It ran fine without any failures
What i am seeing in the view reports tab is empty all 0 values.... but we could see lot of our call recorded in Logserver output files... somewhere the connection between them is missing. I just used the existing logserver and report generation scripts provided OOB from Endeca.
I havenet logged the key SESSION_ID in loggin calls, will it matter, do you see this as the reasong.

Reports created with CR prior version 9

Dear all,
i am just a "user" of an application in which the reports had being created with CR prior version 9. These reports need to be modified. But if i do with CR XI i will get the information "does not support reports prior version XI. and the reports in my application are not shown anymore and error 2147206429 message "Invalid TLV Record" is shown. Kindly i would appriciate your support very much

could be the reason, sounds good. I can remember we had this problem (or similar) about 2 years ago, by changing or adding a small file it was solved. However i guess its worth to follow up, here are my questions
1. where do i get the print engine (or driver) for CR XI ?
2. is it possible to have two print engines installed at the same time and location? as most of the reports do not need to be changed and can still work with the old one.
3 how is a print engine named (file type or name) so i could locate the old one and will know where i do have to place the new one. Can anyone forward me the print engine as a attached file on email? Sorry guys as mentioned i am just a user who try to solve a problem and over here (Thailand, Pattaya) i havent found a specialist which is for sure be able to solve it in less then an hour. But i highly appriciate that all of you trying to help and support me. Many thanks to all at this point.

I can see from your code that you are a beginner. Your coding style is very Labview no-no. English language Plug in for PS CS5, with a German version of Photoshop

Hello everybody!
I bought a software 'plug in' in English language(German was not available), for a German version of PS CS5 and the first time(I did that many times) it's not working! I also tried to solve this problem with the support of the software company, without success. Of course I don't want to buy a new full PS version, to make this work. Any ideas, what I could do? Thanks!

How can you be sure that the language version is the cause of the trouble? Please provide more information, e.g. operating system, Photoshop version (do you have all the updates?), error messages, description of problem, name of plug-in, etc.

Report generation with XML

We already generate reports without OracleReporter. We build a xml file and based on this file we generate reports with the report-server. But these are very easy tabular reports.
Now we want to generate more complex reports (eg. matrix reports).
Is anybody out there who already made this by generating xml files? Maybe there is some ready to use code for solving our problem.

Report is defined through a XML file. The format of XML definition follows : Reports.dtd in ORACLE_HOME/reports/dtd/
That means the data comes out of a XML file :XML Data can be treated as data source(reading data from xml file) is possiable through
Oracle Reports 9i feature XML Query. if you do not want to use ReportBuilder, You have to manually
write the XMLPDS portion in XML Report. Please make some XML Query report from Builder and try to
follow the same format while you write your XML Definition.

What version of SBO are you using? I understand that only the latest 2005A version of XL Reporter can access user-defined fields and that this functionality is not yet available at any patch level in 2004.

Hi Mike,
Here are stylesheets taken from teststand. I tried using one of them by a simple VI having some String controls like Name, Age, Address etc. and logging it to an xml file using this stylesheet. Is there any format or something I am missing?
If you have any sample VI for me, it would be of great help if you attach it.

Word report generation VIs are not found.

I've installed LabVIEW 6.1 followed by installing Report Generatio Tool set, but I don't find word specific VIs and excel specific VIs on Function Palatte. Could u plz. let me know what I m missing there.

Which version of the toolkit did you install?
Do you see the Report Generation Toolkit listed under the Add/Remove Programs in control panel?
If you have multiple versions of LabVIEW, check in which folder did the toolkit get installed.
Can you find word and excel llbs under ...\LabVIEW 6.1\vi.lib\addons\_office directory?
If these VIs didn't get installed, you should check the version (LabVIEW 6.1 needs toolkit version 1.0.1) and reinstall the toolkit.
If you do have these llbs, try to manually edit the palettes and add new subpalettes linked to these menu files:
LabVIEW 6.1\menus\default\excel.mnu and
LabVIEW 6.1\menus\default\word.mnu

Report Generation - Build an exe from a PC with different Office Version

Hi,
I want to build an exe from a VI that uses Report Generation Toolkit. The application has to be deployed on several PCs that use Office 2000. During development phase I installed on my PC, Office 2000 and everything was ok. After I was done with it, I reinstalled Office 2007. So, the Report Generation Toolkit from my PC is for Office 2000 (it was installed when I had Office 2000 on my PC).
These days I had to fix some bugs from my application, I made a new exe but the part that generates Word reports (using RGT) is not working anymore - I received that error with -35...9935 (or something like this).
I tried to search for the problem and I found it: with exactly the same VI's (_Word Dynamic VIs.vi - for Office 2000) the invoke nodes from a PC with Office 2007 and a PC Office 2000 look different. For example in Word_Open_Document.vi, the invoke node Document is different for a PC with Office 2000 + RGT for 2000 and a PC with Office 2007 + RGT for Office 2000 (no mistake).
So, I've tried to copy the VI's from a PC with Office 2000 + RGT 2000 to my PC but I cannot build it because I get the error: There are some errors in _Word Dynamic VIs.vi (the invoke nodes do not fit).
Finally my question is: How can I build the exe on my PC: Office 2007 but with RGT for Office 2000??

Thank you for your advice. Can you please tell me what you want to say with the wrapper vi? I don't really understand what you mean.
By the way, I solved the problem. I discovered that the Invoke Nodes are updated based on the Object Library for the ActiveX control (in this case the MS Office). The data types are store in the msword9.olb (version 9 - for office 2000 in Office folder) and msword.olb (version 12 - for office 2007 also in Office folder). I tried to register the msword9.olb (using the regsvr32.exe) but it doesn't work for olb files - I need the ocx or dll. But, if I replace the msword.olb from Office 2007 with msword9.olb from Office 2000 everything work.
Ok, steps that have to be done:
1. Install the RGT for Office 2000 on the PC
2. DO NOT Change anything in _Word_Dynamic VIs.vi. When Office 2007 is installed the VI arrow should be broken (error in VI)
3. Copy the msword9.olb from a system with Office 2000 (or your version) and copy it to your system with Office 2007 with the new name msword.olb. DO NOT FORGET to make a backup of the original MS Office 2007 file and to restore it at the end.
4. After the new msword.olb is there, the _Word_Dynamic VIs.vi should have no error
5. Build your exe application
6. Restore the old msword.olb
7. ENJOY your life !

Report Generation Toolkit with Excel 2003 and Excel 2000

I'm using the Report Generation Toolkit to generate an Excel report from an Excel template.
The "NI_Excel.lvclass" is included in the "source" section of the application builder options.
I create an exe file on a PC where Excel 2003 is installed. On a Notebook, where only Excel 2000 is installed, the application crashes at the generation of the report:
I guess the problem is the different version of Excel but I don't know. On the developer PC with Excel 2003 it works fine.
In this document it's only talked about different Word versions.
How can I use the Report Generation Toolkit here?

Oh, it seems that the Report Generation Toolkit "only" supports Excel XP/2003/2007.
I think, that's the problem.
