Report Header split across two pages in preview

Hi there,
I've got a full page of A4 text as my report header which works fine in the Design view. However, in preview it splits across two pages leaving about a quarter at the bottom of the first page blank. The text should easily fit on one side of A4 - any ideas why it's being split?
Thanks

Hi
Ideally if you have inserted a cross tab on the report header, then it might split into more than one page.
Please ensure that you have not put a cross tab on the report header. You can also switch to Landscape and check if it fits the report header in one page.
Hope it helps.

  • In two page view preview shows the first page on its own

In two page view preview shows the first page on its own. I have recently downloaded an ebook which has image based tutorials and the pages are in such a way that pages 3 and 4 should be seen next to each other. Preview seems to want to have pages 1 on its own therefore making this rather difficult. Any help on resolving this issue would be appreciated.

Try selecting the first page, and then from the "Edit" menu select "insert blank page". This should put a blank page at the beginning of the document, shifting all pages down one and putting them in the order you want for your display.

  • How do I get an image to appear across two pages?

Setting up a book with iBook Author, and I want an image to appear across two pages, as it does with some of the images in the Life on Earth text. I've tried floating the image, but it only appears on one page, and the image cuts off at the page end. Anyone know how to do

A Page consists a readers spread. A left facing page, and a right facing page. In the caes of iBooks Author that thinking is throw out the window. I am going to reference page 2 and page 3 of that Life on Earth iBook. The planet earth image.
    1. Take an image/object and place it where you want on the Right side of your Page. Now select that image/object and COMMAND-C (Edit>Copy) so we have a copy in the pastboard.
    2. Go to the Left ajoining page by scrolling the layout to the right and simply COMMAND-V (Edit Paste) so the image/object now resides on the left page. Position this image so it mirrors the opposite side of the image/object you place on the Right page.
    Hope that all made sense.

  • How to stop table row from being split onto two pages

How do I stop a row of output from being split between two
pages. When the CFDocument loads, sometimes, the last row on a page
"spills" over onto the next. I'd like to figure out who to prevent
these "orphans" from happening, and force the row onto one page or
    the other.
Here's my code for the doc... I have a sp that querys the sql
db. Using CFDocument - CF Version 7.02

If you know roughly how many lines of output will fit on a
page (you can test to find out), then you can count result lines
(you should be able to use RecordCount and do some math) and cfif
against your counter and force a page break beforehand if the next
table will be too much to fit on the page. Then just reset the
    counter after you page break.

  • How do you get an image to spread horizontally across two pages?

My son needs to complete a project using DK style, where images spread across facing pages. Can this be accomplished with Pages? If so, please give me a step-by-step procedure. If this cannot be done with Pages, what reasonably-priced program can do this? Thank you for your time.

    Swift Publisher can do this.
In Pages split the image into a left half and a right half, positioning each half with the Metric inspector to appear on the left and right pages.

  • Spread image across two pages and print the full pages

    Hi there,
Im having a bit of trouble with InDesign CS3.
I want to place an image across two facing pages but can't seem to make it go further than one page.
Also I want to figure out how to print full pages, currently I am only able to print what is contained in the pruple bounding box on the page, any part of the image outwith this is cropped off leaving a white border on the page - this isn't an issue for all but my title page and this two page image I require.
    Any tips.
    Cheers
    malc

I don't understand the inability to place an image that spans two pages (not that I necessarily think this is a good thing to do under most circumstances, but that's a different discussion). Can you see both pages in the same spread? How about providing some details about what you are doing, and maybe a screen shot showing what's happening. Perhaps you're using a frame on the master page?
The second part sounds like a printer issue, but that's hard to know without knowing what your "purple" guides (presumably the page margins) are set to. Most printers are not able to print to the edge of the sheet of paper, regardless of what might be included on the page, so you get a white border that will vary in size depending on the printer model. Generally speaking, to print a bleed you must extend the items beyond the page edge (to insure there is no white edge left fom misaligment in the cutter) and print on a larger sheet, then trim to finished size.

  • Double spreads - can I place an image across two pages in facing page mode?

Hi, I'm just getting into Pages to be able to create custom wedding album designs easily (I use Aperture). I'd really like to be able to place an image across two facing pages and I noticed that there is a 'facing page' mode, but this looks like it only applies to the view.
I tried laying an image across two 10x13 inch pages, but of course this doesn't work. I also tried to insert a 10x26 inch page as an alternative so that I can treat it as a double page. However, when I try to do this, every page resets to that size.
Is there a way of creating two page sizes (one normal, the other double width) in the same document so I can do this, or is there a way of spreading an image across two facing pages?
    Thanks

    brown,
You've bumped into one of Pages' limitations -- it won't allow one image across a spread. I've heard rumors of people kludging it by cutting the image in half, and putting each half on the spread pages.

My problem now is, how can i include TOP-OF-PAGE for every new page in my report? When i click on the button, the TOP-OF-PAGE will not trigger by my report.

  • Extending header/footer across entire page

I was wondering how to extend the header and footer of a web page so that it will always extend all the way across the width of the page no matter what the size of the screen is. I have heard removing the padding works but I am not sure how to do so.

For best results, use pen and paper to rough sketch out the layout you want. Then choose an appropriate pre-built CSS layout or grid/framework to build your own.
Example of a liquid header and footer layout.

  • Report Layout split over several pages

    Hi,
I am trying to design a report which will print a three page application form. But I am unable to design the format of second and third page as in layout model we can design the format of single page. So, Plz advice me how can switch to second and third page while working in layout model?
    Thanks in advance, Khawar

    Extracted from Oracle Reports Help:
"A boilerplate object is any text, lines, or graphics that appear in a report every time it is run. Reports Builder creates one boilerplate object for each label selected in the Report Wizard (it is named B_columnname). For example, if a column is named ENAME, a boilerplate object containing "Ename" is generated for the column. For some report types, Reports Builder also generates lines under the labels. "
Creating a boilerplate object for text
To create a boilerplate object for text:
    1. In the Paper Design view, Paper Layout view or Paper Parameter Form view, click in the tool palette.
    2. Click and drag a rectangle.
    3. In the new boilerplate object, type the desired text.
The text you type is composed of paragraphs which are separated by new lines. Text within a paragraph is word-wrapped inside the boilerplate object's horizontal size.
    4. Click outside the boilerplate text object.

  • Split of metadata across two copies of the photographs

My metadata for the catalouge has become split across two copies of the photographs on different hard drives. Is there a way of recombing the two so that lightroom only uses the photographs at one location? It is difficult to work out which copy of the photo on which disk has the metadata asigned to it. Thanks for any help.

You can copy the metadata from one photo to another, select one, the ctrl-click on the other, and use Sync Metadata button.
It is difficult to work out which copy of the photo on which disk has the metadata asigned to it.
I don't understand, LR shows the metadata on the right in the Metadata Panel.
split across two copies of the photographs on different hard drives
Normally, I would advise not to have two copies of the same photo imported into Lightroom

  • Splitting an A3 page into 2 A4s

    Hi!
I'm a journalist and after publication of the magazine, my editor sends me my articles in pdf format to use in my portfolio.
The problem is, when the article is longer than one page, they send me the pdfs with 2 pages as one - an A3 instead of two A4s, if you'd like. I've been looking through every menu in Acrobat trying to figure out how to simply split the page in the middle and make two pages out of it, but I can't figure it out.
I guess I could go through several stages of cropping, creating new documents, merging them... etc - but I'm sure there's a faster way!
Any help would be most appreciated!
    Many thanks
PS: if you need to see what I mean, check out my portfolio on issuu - the first couple of pages are A4s, then suddenly I get A3s : http://issuu.com/princesskarlotta/docs/art_film

Acrobat can do it, but it's not a feature with a simple user interface - you have to write a reasonably-complicated JavaScript, and of course many of the people who write those scripts do it for a job, hence need to charge for their products. If you spend enough time reading up about Acrobat scripting you could write a script yourself for "free", but the time it'd take is probably worth more to you.
If all you want to do is view or print the resulting PDF, just re-fry it (print from Acrobat to the Adobe PDF printer, choose the "tile all pages" page scaling, and pick A4 portrait as the paper size so your A3 page splits across two sheets). The file you'll create will lose any accessibility tags, layers, video, comments etc. but it won't cost you anything to do.
If you have Adobe Illustrator you could open the PDF and re-export it from there, splitting the page using Artboards. Again it will lose all your interactive features, comments, tag structure etc but would preserve layers, unlike a re-fry.

  • SSRS - Is there a multi thread safe way of displaying information from a DataSet in a Report Header?

In order to dynamically display data in the Report Header based in the current record of the Dataset, we started using Shared Variables, we initially used ReportItems!SomeTextbox.Value, but we noticed that when SomeTextbox was not rendered in the body
(usually because a comment section grow to occupy most of the page if not more than one page), then the ReportItem printed a blank/null value.
So, a method was defined in the Code section of the report that would set the value to the shared variable:
    public shared Params as String
public shared Function SetValues(Param as String ) as String
    Params = Param
    Return Params
    End Function
Which would be called in the detail section of the tablix, then in the header a textbox would hold the following expression:
    =Code.Params
This worked beautifully since, it now didn't mattered that the body section didn't had the SetValues call, the variable persited and the Header displayed the correct value. Our problem now is that when the report is being called in different threads with
different data, the variable being shared/static gets modified by all the reports being run at the same time.
So far I've tried several things:
    - The variables need to be shared, otherwise the value set in the Body can't be seen by the header.
    - Using Hashtables behaves exactly like the ReportItem option.
    - Using a C# DLL with non static variables to take care of this, didn't work because apparently when the DLL is being called by the Body generates a different instance of the DLL than when it's called from the header.
So is there a way to deal with this issue in a multi thread safe way?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Angel,
Per my understanding that you want to dynamic display the group data in the report header, you have set page break based on the group, so when click to the next page, the report hearder will change according to the value in the group, when you are using
the shared variables you got the multiple thread safe problem, right?
I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue, according to the multiple safe problem the better way is to use the harshtable behaves in the custom code,  you have mentioned that you have tryied touse the harshtable but finally got
the same result as using the ReportItem!TextBox.Value, the problem can be cuased by the logic of the code that not works fine.
Please reference to the custom code below which works fine and can get all the expect value display on every page:
    Shared ht As System.Collections.Hashtable = New System.Collections.Hashtable
Public Function SetGroupHeader( ByVal group As Object _
    ,ByRef groupName As String _
,ByRef userID As String) As String
Dim key As String = groupName & userID
If Not group Is Nothing Then
    Dim g As String = CType(group, String)
    If Not (ht.ContainsKey(key)) Then
' must be the first pass so set the current group to group
    ht.Add(key, g)
    Else
    If Not (ht(key).Equals(g)) Then
    ht(key) = g
    End If
    End If
    End If
    Return ht(key)
    End Function
Using this exprssion in the textbox of the reportheader:
    =Code.SetGroupHeader(ReportItems!Language.Value,"GroupName", User!UserID)
Links belowe about the hashtable and the mutiple threads safe problem for your reference:
