Report Height?

Hi all,
I am using report 6i. I designed a master-detail report.
It is working fine.
But i want the output as every page shoud contain 3 reports(i.e 3 master records with details).
For that i set maximum records per page and minimum windows records as 3.
first 2 records coming fine. but there is no space for 3rd record. So Half of the record went for second page.
If i increase the report height in layout editor main section property pallete im facing rep-1219.
How to over come this? How to increase page height?
Good help will be appreciated.

  • Report height problem from 6i to 10g migration

    Hi,
We have a 6i report and now try to migrate to 10g. When the report is printed, the report is shinked and printed in half upper part of page because of the height of main section we defined is 22" instead of 11". We don't have problem in 6i environment.
The reason is we have two different layouts and each occupies 11". Only one of this will be printed at one time but we don't want to create two report for this.
is there any way to solve this problem in 10g?
    Thanks in advance

  • Character mode report and Report Width & Height

    Hi
I need to print a report on a pre-printed pay slip which is 4" height x 9" width.
May i know what value should i set for these parameter?
Report Level: Unit of measurement: Inch
Report Level: Design in Character Units: Yes
Layout Model, Main Section: Width: 9, Height: 4
Layout Model, Character Mode: Report Width: 132, Report Height: 24
Apps SRW driver: width: 132, height: 24
If i need to print the character with 15cpi, is the value of 24 for the height (above) correct?
What should be the value to set for Ruler Settings, character cell size: horizontal & vertical?

In fact the ISO standard is 8.3" × 11.7". 8.5" x 11" is "Letter", which nobody uses any more.

  • Can't see new added columns in Report 6i

    Hi everyone,
I have added new columns to my report, but when I print the report, those new columns are not printed in the paper.
Can anyone please help me to solve this issue?

How can I do that, so I can add more space on the right?
Ok, now I'm on my Layout: Main Section and I have 2 options:
    1) Section:
    Width: 10
    Height: 11
    Horizontal Panels per page: 1
    Vertical Panels per Page: 1
    Orientation: Landscape
    2) Character Mode
    Report Width: 80
    Report Height: 66

  • Run report in character mode

I changed the settings of Report Properties to "Design in Chracter Units", and properties of Main Section, Section: "Width" and "Height", "Report Width" and "Report Height". I also changed the settings Preferences of Menu-Tools to "Character Mode" and Rulers in Menu-Format.
However, some reports were changed to character mode (interface), some not when I run them in Report Previewer.
I do not know why. I created and run them on Windows NT.
    Thank you for any instruction.

Did you set the system parameter MODE = Character?

  • Warning Msg: Character Mode report is being opened as a Bit-mapped report

    Hi All,
I am opening a Oracle Standard Report in Oracle Apps "INVISMMX", while opening it shows the below warning message:
"Character Mode report is being opened as a Bit-mapped report"
What is the reason for this?
How can I open this report in ASCII mode itself?
    Thanks,
    Gowri

I believe Oracle Reports by default will open a report as a bit-mapped report. You can change the poperties of the report to make it a character mode report by:
    1. If this is a new report, in the Object Navigator, click the Reports node,
    then click in the toolbar.
    2. Double-click the properties icon next to the report node to display
    the Property Palette.
    3. Under the report node, set the width and height properties as desired:
    for example, 11 (or 15) width x 8.5 height for landscape or 8.5 width x 11
    (or 15) height for portrait.
    4. Under the Character Mode node:
    a. Set Design In Character Units to Yes.
    b. Set the report width and report height to the appropriate
character-mode dimensions for the report, such as, 132 (or 180)
    width x 66 height for landscape or 102 width x 85 (or 116) height
    for portrait.
    5. In the Object Navigator, expand the Data Model node, then the System
    Parameters node.
    6. Double-click the MODE properties icon to display the Property Palette.
    7. Under the Parameter node, set the initial value for property to Character.
    8. In the Object Navigator, double-click on the Layout Model node icon.
    9. In the Layout Model view, choose FormatLayout OptionsRulers to display
    the Ruler Settings dialog box.
    10. Set Units to Character Cells and Number of Snap Points Per Grid Spacing
    to 1. Click OK.
    11. Click View in the menu bar and make sure that Snap to Grid is checked.
    12. Choose Tools Preferences to display the Preferences dialog box.
    13. On the Preferences page, set Horizontal Interfield to 1 and Vertical
    Interfield to 0. Click OK.
    14. Choose Format Font, and select the font, style, and size that most
closely approximates the character-mode font (such as, Courier,
    Regular, 12 point).

    Hi
How long is too long? You are using 240 as widht, son wichever line is longer than that will cause it to wrap. I'm in doubt regarding the report width, as 150 inches would allow for many more characters wide.
If You know how long is the longest line, try this formula to determine the report width by the following:
    ceil( characters * 7.65 / 72 )
Modify the width to that number of inches and layout the report to that extent, making fields long enough to allow for the greatest values to be displayed without wrapping.
Then, when defining Oracle Applications concurrent program, specify with accordingly. If BACS is not enough, You may use Dymanic% styles.

  • Character mode report cuts off last character on a line

Reports 9i, Windows 2003 Server. Printing character mode reports to IBM 6400 printer. I have a variable text column (multi line) and randomly the last character on a line gets cutoff. I'm using Courier 10 as my font. It is only 1 character that ever cuts cutoff. Any ideas? I'm desperate.

    Hi,
change the reports height& width for landscape /portait.
and go to edit margin in layout.
see the layout and move to left if it has lot of gap in left side.
we can get correct output if the right side border is upto 8.2.
    try with this.

Any ideas what is happening here.

There are two ways you can work around this bug.
    1. Layout Model/Main Section\Property Palette --Set Report Height - 9999.
Do this after you complete creating the layout. After completing the development of the report just change the report height to 9999
    2. Set page height to 0 in the report .prt file and use that file name in system paratmeters. ( desformat - *.prt file ) You have to copy this file to the server if you are running web reports. This will take care of all your delimited reports.
To get rid of the asterisk try adding to_char for all the amount columns.
Also, the font on Red Hat Linux may not be an exact match to the font in the report.

  • Pagesize in reports 6i?

    Hi,
I am running a report on reports 6i, i have to print this report on legal
    size paper.
i have set the main section width 20 and height 20 and as well as
report width 120 report height 80 i set.
but when iam running its fine but when iam printing the report its
printing from half the page skipping in the beginning of the page.
is there any where that i need to set the page size, because we are
upgrading reports from 3.0 to 6i.
    any thoughts will be helpful.
    thanks.

Because you want legal size output, you need to set the report header/main/trailer sections size to 8.5 in x 14 in. You can do that by bring up the property sheet and change the width and height for each section in the navigator under page layout. When you do print, select page setup from File menu and choose legal size paper.

Ok It's been 2 days now and I'm forced to ask for help. It's such a tiny detail but it's making me crazy. My boss is going to kill me.
This particular report exports to excel, and when a frame doesn't fit the current page, it moves the complete frame and all it's content to the next page. This is OK, it's a reports feature and it works perfectly.
This problem is when exporting to excel and tries to export the non-fitting-in-the-first-page frame, I get the rows that didn't fit in the first page AND the rows that finally make to the NEXT page. So I'm getting duplicate rows.

  • Can interactive report size be controlled?

I have an interactive report. I know the region size grows based on the number of rows I asked to display. However, what I really want is to set the region size and instead of it growing if they ask for lots of rows I would like to have a scroll bar appear so that the report height remains constant. I don't like having them have to navigate using the Apex navigation because it is easier to just drag the scroll bar up or down as desired.

  • Convert Report to PDF

I have a standard oracle applications report that I have modified the formatting and layout on. I have not actually changed any code. I can run this report in Reports 6i just fine and have loaded it into applications and it runs just fine there too. However, when I change the output format type from Text to PDF and run it, the report generates an error.
The log file just states that the Concurrent Manager enocutnered an error while running the request. Nothing more specific than that.
Does anyone have any idea what would be causing this? I have ruled out an error in the report since the only thing I have changed was the output type withing applications.
Any help you can give me would be great. I would really like to avoid having to create this report from scratch.
    Thanks,
    Matt

What is the error message you are receiving?
Does the concurrent manager not complete (red bar through the concurrent request and states ERROR) or does IE launch and you receive an error there?
If you can't get IE to launch at all, then this is curious.
Have you specified a layout style in the concurrent program definition? There may be conflict between the .RDF setting for report height & width and the application setting (which you may or may not have specified) I believe the application defaults to portrait style.
As you may imagine, it is quite difficult to troubleshoot with no definitive error message and I completely understand that the log file is not really helpful in this case. I would just double-check my settings and make sure it is only that one .RDF that is giving you grief and if so, re-writing the report may actually be the best option instead of taking shots in the dark.
