Report in GRR3

Gurus,
I want to chnge the output of a zee report in GRR3 transaction.
In which it gives the output in year wise summary but the client wants it to in month wise breakup seperatly.
Is it possible to copy this program in another zee report with requirement changes or any other ways in GRR3 transaction to get the expected output.
help me to slove this issue.

I think it os certainly possible to code a Z-Report as per client requirement. Better is to get the basic flowlogic such as
1.Input Parameters
2.Processing Logic
3.Output format
You should be able to design your own Z-report

Dear Experts,
In report painter GRR3 > 1VK
1. Column of Actual Quantity to take in Basic Key Figure from Statistical Quantity
2. The value is 4 (Actual) and Version is 0
I found that the Actual value appeared are actually taken from the previous fiscal year. I have checked the line items and their document posting date it shown as last fiscal year.
In this case, where should I amend to have the report pick up only actual value of this fiscal year? or Is there any value to maintain for GRR3 to pickup the current fiscal year actual posting?

hi..
Goto GRR3 > click on Lib 1VK it will show you all the report in 1VK library > select your report & double click on it
It will display the report format. Then go to Edit at the top. you will find General data selection.click on it you will find available characteristics. Then goto GRR2 for making any change/selection for Fiscal year char
If your report is a standard one you can not change. then copy the report from GRR1 and make the changes.
You can also see the char in GR23 by selecting 1VK lib.

Executed report problem GRR3

Dear Experts,
While executed my report in GRR3 I have error with the following message:
Set 0101XXX in set 0002$ZACT does not contain any entries
Message no. GR 657
Diagnosis
You cannot use empty sets to define reports. The single-dimension set contains a basic set that does not contain any values.
Procedure
Use a set that contains at least one value, or enter values for the set defined.
How to find set 0101 in set 0002ZACT as explained in error message?

As per your error message, Set 0101XXX is a subset of 0002$ZACT.
First identify the hierarchy of the 0002$ZACT, which are the sets used under this set. Now check any set which has ab empty fields, without mentioning the cost elements.
I think any one set under this 0002$ZACT is empty without any valid records

Error in report painter GRR3

Dear All,
In the report GRR3, one GL (600056-COGS - Sales reversa) is not picking.
Because of that report showing the difference amount.

Implicit enhancement for report painter reports(For GRR3 and CJE3)

Hi,
We have a client requirement to add 5 fields (In selection screen) to report painter reports ( Reports of CJE3 and GRR3 ).We created Z reports as a copy of standard reports, added required 5 fields by implementing SAP notes and other settings.We have also done implicit enhancement for all these reports to make change in the behaviour of new fields.This is working fine in the development client but the problem is once we transport this to other client new reports get generated( With new name ) and implicit enhancement will be lost.
For eg:in development client for CJE1/CJE2 report the program name will be "GPAVPSATWFP4NN0YRDBIQBHI8MQ"
but when we transport it to other client new program "GP8O1UCNZTJYY5LTO8GN0UW2GQB" is generated in which implicit enhancements are not found.
Can you please suggest how to handle implicit enhancement in such cases? Or what is the correct way to transport it.

I have already done implicit enhancement as you said ,my problem is to transport it to another client.
I have implemented implicit enhancement for one report lets say it as "ABC", and i transport it to another client with all the enhancement. But in another client new program "XYZ" is getting generated for same report( dynamic programs ), so my implicit enhancement is present but its applicable to "ABC" program but not for "XYZ".
Can you please suggest how can i handle this??

Authorization of Report Painter GRR3

Kindly help me to restrict our users on Tcode GRR3 for Report Painter.
There are number of reports under Report >>> Library.
on authorization at PFCG I created a role and has only one tcode GRR3. under this there are four objects
Report Writer: Report
Report Writer: Libaray
Report Writer: Report Group
how I restrict users at this stage...how to define authorization group ???? is this work able.

I think there are a coupleof ways to do this
1.
Go to GRR3, check the report(s) that is(are) to be executed. Check the hierarchial assignment of the report(i mean check the Report group & Library they are under)
based on the above information, you can make restriction on the following objects:
G_800_GRP (For the actual report itself)
G_801K_GLB (For the report Library)
G_803J_GJB (For the report group)

an alternate but somewhat tricky way to do this could be, For the user who needs the access/restriction check the roles that have the object S_PROGRAM , make sure that there is no (*) value in this.
Give free access to GRR3, without any specific restriction. BUt in the role that has S_PROGRAM - give access to only those program authorization groups that are shown for the reports to be executed
I think i made it too complex. OK.......if the user needs to run schedule 10 reports, go to GRR3 go the report he needs to execute, check the program behind - go to SE38, RSCSAUTH execute, check the authorization group of the program - make your restriction of program execution (S_PROGRAM) based on this

Report painter GRR3...Division problem.

In report painter i have a division problem. I am calculationg Gross profit percentage as
Gross Profit % = ( Gross Profit / Sales ) * 100.
So the value should be
GP % = ( 2523302.56 / 14067690 )*100 = 17.93 ( As per calculator )
But the SAP is showing the value as 18.09. Can you please guide me what could be the problem?

I didn't chosse the copy function, instead I insert row 104(other current asset) , but I find the first column (which should be a formula)corresponds to row 104 is empty, and I check all formula ID under formula components, there is no other current asset
formula ID, what should I do?
Row 103(current asset) has a formula ID, but new inserted rows can't find formula ID

Report Painter GRR3

Hi all!
This is my first time to create a report painter, i'm creating a report painter to display individual Cost Centers for each Cost Center Group. The report is working fine. However, i just have a problem in the selection screen.
My selection screen only has 3 fields: company code, period and year. But, i would like to add 1 more selection field that is "Cost Center Group" in the selection screen to give more choice when execute the report.
But when i go to Edit --> General Data Selection, i Could Not find available characteristics which is "Cost Center Group" there.
Any advice how to add or where to find the "Cost Center Group" characteristic?

The way report painter works is that you can pull the characterstic only on row or column or general data.
If you cannot see cost center characterstic in general data , then check row or column and it might be getting called there.
Do remember that if you want it to be called on the selection screen then you will have to make a variable and its better if you take out the cost center from all the rows or columns and pull it in general data with variable as it will be easier to maintain .
Just a suggestion.

Actual Value displayed in GRR3 report painter Library 1VK

Dear Experts,
In report painter GRR3 > 1VK
I have summarized the Consumption according to Cost Centre of each activity types, I have set;
1. Column of Actual Quantity to take in Basic Key Figure from Statistical Quantity
2. The value is 4 (Actual) and Version is 0
Once I run the GRR3 report, there is some figure in that particular column and does not know where to trace the origin of those value. This actual figure appears on current period onwards where actual data does not been distributed on the system yet.

GRR3 Deleted Report Painter report

I deleted a Report Painter report in GRR2. It no longer exists in table T008 or assigned to any report group. However, the deleted report still appears in GRR3 under the respective library. How can we remove permanently a deleted report from GRR3?

Okay, good to know. Now I have to figure out how to import an updated version of library, or the whole Report Painter tools. Thank you Navneet for indirectly helping me resolve the problem.

GRR3 report name changes when assigned to report group

I have define report title to be "expense report" in Grr3(both short/middle/long text), but when I execute it, I assigned it to one report group, in GR53, I found the report name is changed to "cash flow report", even I removed it and insert again, it still be cash flow report,,
The report result is fine, only the report title got this problem, anyone can solve it?

1.Use transaction code: GRR2.
2.Double click on the report
3. Click on Extras, Report Texts and then Select Headers
4. Define your report title under headers.

No Program generated after creation of new report via Report Painter

Hello,
I have created a new report after copying an existing report from report painter GRR1. The new report has also been assigned to a new Report Group relevant to the same library.
There is no Syntax error. The only change has been to the Title of the report.
However when I am trying to execute the report nothing happens. ABAP found that no program has been generated by SAP for this mew rpeort. We confirmed this by searching with my user ID in table TRDIR.
However there is no trace of it.
We have tried to execute the report from GRR3 & GR53 (report group). The report & report group is having the same attributes as the old one.
Unless the report is in executable stage we are not able to go to the Selection screen & finally from the Technical Information to the program name.
Please could you let me know what can be the possible cause for this & how can we resolve the same.

I think an approach using a console app could work, but rather than having the web app spawn it, an alternative would be to do the following: (1) have the web app insert report generation requests (including all necessary report parameters) into
a database table, and (2) have a console app, periodically invoked by Windows Task Scheduler, which reads that database table and then uses the SSRS API as you describe to generate the report, save the byte stream to a file, and finally send
the e-mail notification to the user.

What you've described will work but saving report generation requests in separate table may not be necessary. I don't have much experience with web services but can they just spawn C# console app with needed parameters and exit without waiting for console
app to complete?
The positive side of using database to store report generation requests is that you would have complete log of all requests. Your console app can then update database with completion status.

Expanded Profit Center Hierarhcy display in Report Painter.

We have built a report painter based P&L report with variation on company code and profit center. The profit center hierarchy has multiple levels. User requirement is - The report output should show the profit center hierarchy fully expanded till the lowest level at the first instance itself. They do want execute the report and then manually expand the profit center hierarchy. Please suggest some ideas to achieve this requirement.

Have you created any report in GRR1 till now?
If yes, explian the structure.
If not, just give us the basic structure how you want. So that will try to give the inputs create the report

Along these same lines. I have a user that cannot drill down into a drill down report. Let me clarify. This report does have drill down capability as some people can drill down into it but others cannot. If a user has authorization to run a report via GRR3. When they click on an item to drill down they do not get an authorization error statement, all they get is a statment that says "list contains no data". Any ideas why some can drill down and some can't? Thanks

While running GRR3 the new cost element I have assigned did not display there.
Characteristic value for our report in Grr3 is taken from cost element group zzz.
