Report is Blank Until you Click Group Tree

Hello,
I have a report that is opening as a totally blank page (except for group tree). When you click on group tree, the report appears. Once this happens, you can refresh the report, and it is fine.
Can someone tell me what is happening, and how I can fix it?

As you've discovered, this can be caused when the Preview app on a Mac saves a PDF form. Any script you download has to be installed in the correct location and then Acrobat has to be restarted. An alternative to using a script with Acrobat is to export the form data and then reimporting it into the form.

Safari users see my web pages as blank, until they click the screen

Our company web page works well in Internet Explorer and Firefox, but using Safari some pages intially appear blank until they are clicked on. Once the user clicks in the safari window, the page loads instantly.
The pages that appear blank seem to vary from user to user. On this mac with Safari 1.3.2, it rarely happens - only when I click on a thumbnail to view the full size image. On another mac running Safari 2.0.3, it happens on every single page.
I created the site with another co-worker using Dreamweaver, but both of us were learning as we went along. A friendly web developer I ran into suggested the problem might be to do with using 'padding' in our css and 'cellspacing' in our tables. We used both these to define the look of the universal grid we use on all our pages.
If this is the case, then it would seem to require rewriting every one of our web pages so that they don't use the offending system, but still look the same.

Does anyone here know what is causing the problem? Was this developer correct? Is there a simple way to correct it? I really would not like to have to re-write all our pages. I'm not even sure how to accomplish the look we want by another method.
Where else can I look to for help and advice on this issue?

Thanks for replying. The problem does not occur when I follow your link - which you believe would suggest it lies with frameset forwarding.
After a quick google to find out what frameset forwarding is, it seems I should switch to a redirect forwarding instead? What would you advise? \
I am relieved the problem is not to do with the code. I was worried I would have to re-write the code.

Photoshop Elements 10 editor lags... doesn't show changes until you click a different tool?

I've been using PSE for many years now... started in 3, moved to 7, and just upgraded to 10. I got it all installed fine, but when I open a file to edit it in the editor, and make a change (add text, change text, run action, erase something, ANYthing I do to the file) the changes don't show until I click a different tool. This is VERY frustrating and there's no way will be able to use it if that's just how 10 works... but if it's a preference somehow I can't find it! Anyone know what's going on? I can try to explain further if this doesn't make sense.

Reports Builder 9i when you click Run web Layout error

Hi,
After creation of a new report within the reports builder 9i and then click Run web layout I got the following error: Failed to locate the browser.

the browsers are not properly set to your report builder
check these registry settings

Form field answers appear blank until I click on them - why?

I have created a form using InDesign, however when customers submit the form, the fields appear blank. Only when I click on the field the information appears. How do I solve this so I can see all answers without having to click on each individual field?

How are viewing the PDFs? This doesn't sound like an InDesign issue at all but you should be viewing PDFs with Acrobat or Reader. All bets are off for anything else, especially Mac Preview.

Scrolling makes screen go blank until I click near top. Individual boxes go black. The 3.7 version works fine.

Every time I move mouse over a box, it goes black. moving elsewhere restores it. If I scroll with cursor or mouse whole screen goes black except for some of the navigation at top. If I click at top, screen comes back.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in <u>[[Safe mode]]</u>:
* Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
* Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)
In Firefox 4 [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode Safe mode] disables extensions and disables hardware acceleration.
* Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

Main Reports' Group Tree doesn't retain last record selected

In Crystal 2008 Viewer, when you click one of the last tree nodes on a long Group Tree, the program jumps to that part of the report for that group. But when you return to the Main report tab the Group Tree pane returns to the top.
According to my users, previous Crystal versions used to outline the previously selected tree node and keep that section in the left pane, so the user could see where they just were.
This partially works in the Crystal 2008 Developer version. If I preview the report and drill down with the group tree, the Preview tab's group tree pane stays in place. I do not, however, have any outline or indication of what group was just selected.
I found this in the help text: "For longer reports or reports in which you wish to jump back and forth between different groups, the smart navigation features of the Group Tree make your work extremely efficient." For the users to jump back and forth efficiently they need the Main Reports' group tree to remember the general location from which they came (at a minimum) AND/OR the previously drilled record also be highlighted/outlined (at best).

Flash site loads blank until clicked on

I'm getting reports back that my site will go blank while
surfers are navigating through it and only reappear when they click
somewhere on the page. Specifically I was told that when people
click the "discography" link from here:

That the destination page, discography, will just be blank
until they click somewhere on the page.
Unfortunately I'm dealing with getting the information second
hand as I can't reproduce the error on my computers.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

maybe you can use updateAfterEvent() to force a screen
refresh. Other than that you could play around with adding and
removing event listeners.
It may well be my ignorance but event listeners don't always
seem to behave as expected in AS3.

Crystal Report Viewer 13.0.2000 Group Tree does not properly display in IE8

We migrated from crystal reports 10.x.x to Crystal Reports 13.0.2000.
The group tree when rendered in IE8 shows the group icon in the middle.
See the attached picture.
However, the display is good in Google Chrome and IE11.
Since we already have a customer base using IE8, need a fix to resolve the IE8 issue.

Not to argue with Brian, but the Supported Platforms still contains IE 8 as being supported.
You do not mention the service pack you are using or if you can reproduce the issue on your test environment(?).

Hiding report title in Group Tree View Pane

In a .rpt file, if I provide a Group Field, it is displayed in the "Group Tree View" when I preview the report.
The Group Tree View pane also contains the name of the report - actually the title. Is there a way that I can choose not to show report title on this pane?
Here is my requirement:
I'm localizing the report file and that includes localizing group names too. I've also localized the report title by using a formula and displaying the formula in the report header. But this pane - Group Tree View - uses report title from "Special Fields", which I'm not able to modify. So I'm always getting the non-localized report title displayed on this pane, which I want to avaid somehow.
If I remove report title from the report properties, this pane shows report file name instead, which again i do not want to be displayed.

After removing the report title from the report properties try to place a space " " in the report title field in summaryinfo so that a blank space is shown in the group tree.

PDF Export - Group Trees When Using Sub Reports

Hi
I have a complex Crystal Reports 2008 report which links to various Sub Reports using a classic Master-Child relationship via the Sub Report Linking options.
The report works fine but when I am Exporting the Master report to PDF and the Group Tree gets exported correctly for the Master but none of the Group Trees in the Child Sub Reports get exported. Unfortunately the report Preview doesn't show the Group Tree for Sub Reports either - I'm guessing that both issues are intrinsically linked.
Does anyone have any ideas? Is this a bug or does Crystal Reports 2008 not support this?

Group Tree Blank key suppressing

Is it possible to suppress the blank key value from a Group Tree when this key is intentionally suppressed using customizable option? This blank key is appearing in the Group tree as a separate node.

Actually the blank node in the group tree appears due to a group added for implementation. This Group key is not needed in the tree. Can we keep the additional group and rid of its node from the tree ?

Group Tree issue when refreshing- Crystal for Visual Studio 2010 WPF Viewer

Hello,
We've run into an issue when refreshing reports with the WPF viewer for Visual Studio 2010. After the report is refreshed, the Group Tree is blank and it should have values. For example, you run a report and see values in the Group Tree. If you refresh the report with the same parameter values the Group Tree is blank.
Has anyone run into this yet?

That is correct.
I just did a quick test and was not able to reproduce the issue.
Details of test:
1) Create a new app;
File | New | Project
Visual Basic | reporting -> Crystal Reports WPF Application
2) Add the "Open File" button to the viewer (ShowOpenFileButton off of the WPF viewer properties)
3) Run app
4) Browse to a report that has a number of groups >250
5) Refresh report using the Refresh button on the viewer
I'll work on this a bit later today, see if I can repro it another way. Meanwhile, can you provide mode details (code) on how you repro the issue?

Having issues viewing interactive parameters and group tree in Visual Studio 2013 design view.

Hey Guys,
I'm a web developer (front end and back end, kind of a one man army sort of deal) and my current employer wishes to use crystal reports to display the results of the online survey apps/tools I have been working on for the last few months. However, I have been having trouble getting the reports to render in browser, and a lot of the ui components of the browser based report viewer (the interactive parameters and group tree) will not render properly in the design view of visual studio (ive attached a screen cap of what I'm talking about) or in the browser itself.
I am new to crystal reports and its community and if I am leaving out any critical details or have posted in the incorrect section please inform me and I will make changes as necessary.
Additional info:
Visual studio version: 2013 professional (trial)
Plugin version (exe file name): CRforVS_13_0_9.exe (I also installed the 64 bit run-time from this)
Server and OS versions: IIS 7.5 on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2
Any help you guys could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mike
First thing you want to do is uninstall CRVS SP 9 and install CRVS SP 10. SP 10 is the first SP to support VS 2013.
Once that is done, let us know if that helped any.

Group Tree Problem

Hello Everybody,
I have a report which was developed by previous developer.This report is working fine execpt no group tree was displaying on preview mode on left side of the report. Now users want's to display this tree,so that they can navigate to each group. Can anybody please tell me how to display this tree.

Hello Ram,
1) Open your CR Designer-->File tab->Report options--->Check "Show Preview Panel"
2) In the designer toolbar, click on "Toggel Preview Panel" button.
