Report Launchpad in HR administrator

I  AM configuring the new report launchpad (ABAP based )  in HR Administrator, using transaction LPD_CUST. And wonder  How to export manager desktop reports to the new launchpad? For MSS we have used Convert MDT Data to MSS reporting Launch pad in spro  (transaction PWPC_CONV_MDT_TO_LPA) , but I can not FIND anything similar for HRADMIN launchpad.
COULD YOU PLEASE HELP?
cheers

Hi Andrew
Thats because the Iview is a Web dynpro for Java Iview. And it wants to call the Web dynpro application mss~lpa application.
So, that means that you have to deploy the MSS business package with the (pcui package also). Setup jco connections etc...and see if that helps.
However, interesting enough there is a launchpad iview for ABAP, where you can call the Launchpad directly from backend.
Se for example the business package for Quality Inspection ENH3, here they instead uses an webdynpro for ABAP Iview for the launchpad(com.sap.pct.erp.common.lpd_application).
I am curreently trying to figure out how i can get it(business package for internal sales rep.) to use the web dynpro for ABAP Iview instead of the Java Iview which apperently needs the business package for MSS. And It all boils down to configuring the launchpad in the backend...which is not at all documentet as i have experienced it(if you find any doc...please forward).
Also remember to deploy the business package for Common components or business the common package .

  • Report launchpad is not working under MSS

    Hi,
We are configuring MSS and now the report launchpad is showing errors like Role: MSS instance: REP NOT_FOUND.
I know we need to configure the MDT scenario and then change the iView property. But I could not find the documentation on which property in the launchpad iView to change and how to change it to mactch the scenario we defined in MDT.
    Can anyone help?

    hi,
Even i had the same probelm.. which i reported to SAP.. they replied me with folowing message :-
    hanks for the message.
Kindly check whether corrections of Note 940552 are implemented in your
    system.
Some of the customers reported the same issue. In their case they
got no reports if they run program #PWPC_CONV_MDT_TO_LPA# with type
#RPT0# because the Report Launchpad was not initialized.
You could also solve the problem if you start the customizing of the
    report launchpad. ( Transaction FPB_LP_MSS_REP_CUST )
If you do that the first time you will get a popup
that ask you whether you want a tree at the left side or not.
For the Manager Self Service you could say no and then you must save
    the launchpad.
Now the launchpad is initialized and you could run the report for
    inserting the MDT reports.
If you want also add the financials report please implement at first
    the correction at note 954301.
After that you could also insert the Financials reports.
I asume certain table contents are not delivered, because they form partof Launchpad customization.
    Please implement any of the two solutions;
    1) (Preferred sol.) Start the customization of the Launchpad (
Transaction FPB_LP_MSS_REP_CUST ). Check that table FPB_LP6_SNI is no
longer empty, and has the required entry. Then run the transaction to
    convert.
    2) Manually add the line to table FPB_LP6_SNI. The values are role =
'MSS', instance = 'REP', and sni_used = ' ' (blank). Then run the
    transaction to convert.

  • Report Launchpad in Portal. BP for ISR 1.41

    Hi Experts,
I've just installed in the "Business Packages for Internal Sales Representative 1.41" and carried out the necessary configuration. Everything seems to be working except the Report Launchpad. When I click on "Analytics" I get the following error.
com.sapportals.portal.prt.runtime.PortalRuntimeException: Failed in WD JNDI lookup. javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: No child found in WebDynproContext with name mss~lpa
mss~lpa is the report launchpad that comes with ERP Common Parts 1.41 and I can see that it exists in the Portal Content Directory.
Do you have any idea how I can get this working?
    Kind regards,

  • Report Launchpad (WDA) with APB_LAUNCHPAD

    Hi,
I'm exploring the lpd_cust (Report Launchpad ABAP) in conjunction with APB_LAUNCHPAD to configure our application homepage. I have several questions :
    1. Within LPD_CUST, I cannot configure or influence how each of the folders (along with the applications) appear, i.e. layout in row or column-wise. I have 2 folders, each folder is displayed on a separate column. I would prefer the 2 folders to be displayed within a column. How can we influence the layout of the folders (and the applications under the folder) ?
    2. Is there a BADI or exit where I can show/hide the display, depending on user criteria ?
    3. Whether it supports ITS based applications. I don't find it under the list of application category.
    Appreciate any advice. Thank you.

    Dear Siddharth Rajora,
I have the impression that manager desktop is "phased out", and furthermore, I am not using MSS. I want to design a homepage to group some of my custom Web Dynpro applications, and am thinking to use lpd_cust along with the application APB_LAUNCHPAD to display the page. Is it a must that I have to use Manager Desktop in order to fullfil my requirement ? Thank you.

  • MSS Report Launchpad

    Hi everybody!!!
We're implementing Manager Self Service EHP 4 , and we are facing an issue when whe execute any report in Report Launchpad.
    We get this message : <CacheRefresh mode="Partial" execution="asynchronous" />
And we dont know if some configuration has been skipped, cause we have executed PWPC_CONVERT_MDT_TO_LPA in SE38, also FPB_LP_WRITE_ENTRIES program.
Please let me know how can we fix this issue.
    Best Regards!!!

For reports to work properly you need to have BP for common parts working fine. Redeployment of this package can also help.
The only configurations from R/3 end are activation of services (your EP person would know), along with standard steps given in N06_BB_ConfigGuide_EN_US.doc of Business Best Practices.

  • NWBC MSS Reporting launchpad caching reports

I have been configuring the MSS reports using LPD_CUST and I found that my changes weren't being reflected in the MSS Reporting launchpad.  When I then moved on to another user the changes were there.  There must be some sort of Caching going on and I wonder if anyone knows how to clear this.
I have tried clearing the table CKLTEX and this doesnt work.  I saw Chris Paine had detailed on another discussion how to clear the NWBC cache but we are using NWBC html not desktop and this option doesnt seem to be available.
If I could find the function/class/method that  gets the report list for a Role|Instance this would also help if anyone knows that?

  • Collapse reports in reporting launchpad

    Hi,
We are using reporting launchpad for MSS just connected to a ERP system.
At the moment we have long list of reports in diffrent categories. Does anyone know if it is possbile to group the reports, and then collapse the "category".
i.e. we have three reports under leave overview. It look now lik this
    leave overvirew
    - report 1
    - report 2
    - report 3
I want to hide the reports so that the end user must click on the heading leaveoverview befor he sees the report.
    Ingvild

    hi ingvild
you need to carry out a development of webdynpro page where this can be achieved.
you can use old reporting iview.
if you use old iviews then it has a different way of presentation which will allow you to achieve the objective.
    thank you

  • No reports displayed in MSS Report Launchpad

    Hello everybody,
We set up ESS/MSS on a distributed environment.
    Backend:
         ECC 6.0 EhP 3
         Single-ABAP Stack
         Installed Backend Component EA-HR 603
         Activated Backend Function EA_FIN_1
    Portal:
         NW 7.0 SPS 17
         Single-Java Stack
         Installed Components: SAPPCUI_GP 603 SP4, SAP_ESS 603 SP3, SAP_MSS 600 SP15
    Problem
The configuration works fine for a couple of ESS and MSS iViews and pages, but we get the following problem with MSS Reports:
-> When calling the Launchpad no reports are displayed and an info message is shown telling "No objects were personalized".
-> When clicking on "Change Launchpad" you see several reports sorted in groupings. They are already listed in the table of shown reports but are not displayed in the launchpad.
-> When clicking on "Save and Exit" you get two additional info messages telling "No Applications entered", but no reports are displayed. When you then open "change launchpad" screen again the reports totally disappear from table of shown reports.
    Portal Launchpad Configuration:
    -> pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.erp.common
-> The launchpad iView connects to the backend via SSO which works fine for a lot of other ESS/MSS iViews
-> As application parameters the following is configured: "class=CL_FPB_SNI_ACCESS&role=MSS&instance=REP&display_external=X"
    Backend Customization:
-> When launching transaction "fpb_launchpad_cust" with role MSS and instance REP you can see all the reports which are displayed in "change launchpad" screen.
-> All the reports are Transaction Reports
-> The Manager's Desktop (MDT) is not used
    So:
1.) Why are the reports not displayed in the launchpad, but in the "Change Launchpad" screen?
2.) Did we forget any customizing?
3.) Why do we see such info messages like "No objects were personalized"?
4.) And what refers the application parameter "class=CL_FPB_SNI_ACCESS" to?
    Please help me,
    Dennis

    Hi everybody,
finally we managed to fix this bug on our own.
We set up the Managers Desktop (MDT) as suggested by SAP. But the MDT's reports could not be converted to the launchpad.
Then we recognized via debugging that for any reason the following entries were missing in table FPB_LP6_SNI_REQ:
    - Role ROLE C 3 MSS
    - Instance INSTANCE C 3 REP
Adding these entries manually fixed the problem.

  • HR Administrator Business Package - Reports ( APB_LAUNCHPAD )

    Hi Experts ,
what are the customizing steps needed to get the Report Launchpad to work !
I set up the customizing entries in IMG/Personnel Management/Hr Administrative Services / hr Administrator / Store reports  .
the role used is ASR ( Hr Admin ) , Instance :  ( HRU)  but each time the web dynpro is launched it displays no object selected.
Anybody has further information on that launchpad configuration, please let me know !

Alright, thanks anyway!  I am trying to deploy the Internal Sales Representative Business Package, and it says in the configuration steps that I am to configure the launchpad.  I think I can do it in transaction fpb_launchpad_cust, but I'm not sure.

  • Launchpad report issue

    Hi,
Im trying to implement ESS-MSS(1.0 SP 8) on EP 7 SP 11. There is an iView know as Launchpad under MSS -> Reports. On opening the page Im getting the following error:
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.controller.MessageManager$AbortMessageManagerException: Role: MSS instance: REP NOT_FOUND
I guess this is a problem with the configuration of Launchpad reports in R/3 (ECC 6.0). Also there is something known as MDT (Manager's Desktop). I have no idea about these. Please provide me with the steps that need to be done to configure the above things. How to check if Launchpad is working fine in R/3?
Also provide me with the things that has to be done in EP side. The application parameter of iView is "class=CL_FPB_SNI_ACCESS&role=BUA&instance=REP&display_external=X".
    Regards,
    Piyush.
ps: expect points for any relevant answer. )

    Piyush,
I can provide you some information on Manager's desktop but do not know much about the portal side.
There is a section in the IMG under the following path Personnel Management->Manager's Desktop->Enhancement of Function Codes.  If in the past you were using MDT, this is where you would add your own functions.  This section can now be used to set up reports in the reporting launchpad.
If you select define function codes, you can now define which reports will be available.
We defined 2 basic things, this is controlled by the "type" column:
<b>REPO</b> - Report - If you set up a report, the launchpad is expecting a report based on PNP logical database.  The launchpad will provide you with an employee selection which is passed to the report.  Note:  The report does not stop on the selection screen.  It passes in the Pernr and immediately displays the results.
<b>FUNC</b> - This type of function code calls a function module.  The function module needs to have specific interfaces (review some of the standard function modules provided already).  We use this case to call reports where we want to stop on the selection screen or reports that are not PNP based.  Within the function module, we do a check on the function code defined and a submit to the approriate report.
    hope this helps.

  • Launchpad reports are not updated if customised

    Hi all
We have implemented Portal v7 and leaders are currently using the report launchpad with a number of reports on it.  We have recently had the need to add new reports and also alter the reports that are currently already available.  I have added the new reports using txn FPB_LP_MSS_REP_CUST with no probs.  These new reports show up for leaders.
The problem I am having is that if a leader has altered the name of one of the existing reports, when I convert the reports (SPRO>Personnel Management>Manager's Desktop>Customer Adjustment>Convert MDT Data to MSS Reporting Launch Pad) the leader doesn't get the updated report.  Is there a table that holds individuals customizations?????  How can I overwrite their changes???
    Any comments would be appreciated.
    Cheers
    Phil

    Hi,
This certainly sounds like a caching issue, you need to decide on a method for purging the cache of stale entries. My personal favourite is a custom informatica WF added as a following task to the DAC execution plan. This WF calls as OBDC function against the Analytics ODBC which purges the cache, ensuring that there are no stale entries after the ETL has finished.
For more info on caching please see my blog entry here:

    Hi..
We have developed custom reports that launch from the reporting launchpad.  When selected, the LPA reporting application provides a list of employees.  After selecting an employee, the report fails to launch with selected employee.  The report input screen is displayed in ITS.  Are there any configuration that maps the LPA employee selection field to the receiving ITS report?
