Report loading Issue

Hello all,
I am using Oracle 6i  for  report and oracle10g for the database.I have created a matrix report in oracle Report but which report taking so much time  to show the output it almost taking more than 10 minutes,at the same time that query executed within 1 minute in toad which used in matrix report.
kindly guide me how to solve the loading issue.

I did not used any formula column in my report,all the values are taking from query.
But I used different types of format trigger in my report for the coloring purpose.Does it make any problem?

  • Crystal Reports Loading Issue

    Hello all - any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
    I have loaded Crystal reports designer onto 3 users machines and am unable to export any reports to pdf.  There is a Salesforce.com fix pack that I have loaded for my version of crystal designer, but I am unable to load it on these useru2019s machines.  They get an error message saying that they are running an older version of Crystal Designer and it cancels the download.  Is there a new fixpack out there for Salesforce or any known issues with connections?
    Thank you.

  • Report load is slow after changing database servers

    Here is the problem:
    Crystal Reports saves the design time database connection info in the rpt.  When our application tries to run a report against a production database, the rpt takes a long time (60 sec.) to load.  After it has loaded we can change the database logon (in our code) and the report runs successfully.
    It seems like Crystal is trying to connect to the development DB server (but it cannot see it from the production environment).  If we edit the rpt and save the production database connection info in it, the report loads in less than a second.
    We are an ISV and our application is used at over 2000 sights so it is not practical to edit each rpt at each location.  We have 737 reports and 908 subreports in our application!
    We are currently using the Visual Studio 2008 version of Crystal Reports.  This did not seem to be a problem with VB6/CR8.5.
    Is there some way to tell Crystal not to try connecting to the DB during the report.load?

    I had the same issue with Crystal Report XI R2. The issue seems to be when loading the *.rpt file. The Crystal Report API reads the *.rpt file and read all the relevant info from the report file and store it in the ReportDocument object and generates the object tree. It seem to do a database lookup for every database or table it finds in the main report and all the sub-reports and also for every SQL Expression you have in each report. Since the development database is different to the runtime database I think it waits until it times out. So more sub-reports you have the longer time it takes to load.
    You can resolve this issue by adding the design-time database name mapped to a runtime database ip. For this you need to update the host file in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc folder with the relevant info. By adding this there will be no name lookup.
    For example, if the report have the service ID as RACE, add the name RACE and the runtime database ip address in to the host file. Then there will be no lookup. Earlier it took 2 minutes to load the report but then the entry it took only 1 second.
    e.g.
    10.0.0.1     RACE

  • Reporting annoying issues for the entire Microsoft website (MSDN, forums, all)

    Is there any place where I can report bugs with how the Microsoft web sites behave? I can only find forums and "Microsoft Answers" categories about single products that Microsoft makes, but nothing about the infrastructure itself.
    For about two weeks now, I am required to log into my account every few hours whenever I access any Microsoft website. This includes MSDN help content, forums, or other resources. I need to login after opening the website through F1 help in Visual Studio
    as well as accessing a microsoft.com link from anywhere else like a web search or a direct link from web or an application.
    Auto-complete does not work either. My browser (Firefox) does save the password, but it never fills it into the form. Other people have already noticed that
    Microsoft applies some dirty tricks here. And even if the login is remembers for a moment, it's slow as hell. It takes a second or two to load the login.live.com page (which is not what I wanted to see), then it sits there for some more seconds before going
    anywhere. Other login services like Google or StackOverflow manage to log me in all within one second and most of the time I don't even see it.
    And then there's still that insecure SSL-to-non-SSL-submit warning that only occurs in other browsers then IE. Has anybody cared about that in the last couple years?! I'm not getting it now, probably because I'm not logged in anymore. It all slowly falls
    apart, piece by piece. Next step is probably losing my data or not loading it at all.
    THIS – IS – ANNOYING! And it really makes me feel like I don't want to use Microsoft products anymore (because even good desktop applications are connected to that silly website). I have opened a
    Microsoft Connect ticket for a part of this issue (it's grown bigger since then), but this ticket is totally ignored. If microsoft.com went down, they'd certainly care within minutes or hours. This bug is not even regarded in
    weeks!
    So do I have to write a postal letter to the president of the whole company or do they have support staff for that?! Do they have anybody who is capable of maintaining their website? It's really frustrating how Microsoft has a web presence that is worse
    than what our first-year trainees come up with. It's full of bugs and this is currently only the most relevant one. Do they even care about how the world sees them? Or is Microsoft currently preparing (and even failing) to move out of business?

    The brandings are fun. Here's this same thread in a bunch of flavors:

  • IE11 and Crystal Reports Viewer issue

    We have a Delphi application which launches Crystal Reports through a Java Web Module.  The Delphi application gives users the option to view a single report or multiple reports (Crystal Reports).  In previous versions of IE, everything worked fine.   However, when we launch multiple reports in IE11, the first report loads properly but the other reports do not open the report in the new window.  It opens our home page.  So, first pop-up window shows the report1 without issues.  Other pop-up windows for report2 – reportN, shows our home page instead of the requested report.   Is there a fix for this issue?

  • Better user experience for slow reports (loading in background, progressbar

    Hi
    In our application, some reports take a long time till they are displayed. Therefore it would be nice, if i could provide the user with some feedback (example: progressbar). Is it possible to have this? Upon print, when a pdf file is being constructed (in web) we already have such functionality in place, is it possible to have it generally?
    Mayb,e it would also be possible to have the report load the first page quickly, so the user has already something to look at, and load all the other needed data in a background thread. (i dont think it is possible, however, somebody may have an idea)
    Does anybody have an idea how we could achieve a better user experience for our reports. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
    Greetings
    I am using:
    Crystal Reports 2008 (in Asp.net, Windows Forms)
    Version .NET 3.5 (SP1)
    PS: of course a very fast report would be the finest solution. However, i guess this will not be possible with our reports and the volume of data they access

    Hi Daniel,
    Crystal Report 2008 we have a inbuilt functionality of progress bar .If you are not getting progress bar for every report that means those reports are not taking to much time.
    For more info regarding progressbar  this check this link:
    [https://boc.sdn.sap.com/node/8035]
    Look for processingIndicatorDelay and processingIndicatorText.
    If you want to improve performance of report then we need to keep in mind few thing while creating report in Crystal report designer:
    Here are a few points related to performance issue .
    The performance of a report is related to:
    External factors:
    1. The amount of time the database server takes to process the SQL query.
    ( Crystal Reports send the SQL query to the database, the database process it, and returns the data set to Crystal Reports. )
    2. Network traffics.
    3. Local computer processor speed.
    ( When Crystal Reports receives the data set, it generates a temp file to further filter the data when necessary, as well as to group, sort, process formulas, ... )
    4. The number of records returned
    ( If a SQL query returns a large number of records, it will take longer to format and display than if was returning a smaller data set.)
    Report design:
    1. Where is the Record Selection evaluated?
    Ensure your Record Selection Formula can be translated in SQL, so the data can be filter down on the server, otherwise the filtering will be done in a temp file on the local machine which will be much slower.
    They have many functions that cannot be translated in SQL because they may not have a standard SQL for it.
    For example, control structure like IF THEN ELSE cannot be translated into SQL. It will always be evaluated
    in Crystal Reports. But if you use an IF THEN ELSE on a parameter, it will convert the result of the condition to
    SQL, but as soon as uses database fileds in the conditions it will not be translated in SQL.
    2. How many subreports the report contains and in section section they are located.
    Minimise the number of subreports used, or avoid using subreports if possible because
    subreports are reports within a report, and if you have a subreport in a details section, and the report returns 100
    records, the subreport will be evaluated 100 times, so it will query the database 100 times. It is often the biggest
    factor why a report takes a long time to preview.
    3. How many records will be returned to the report.
    Large number of records will slow down the preview of the reports. Ensure you only returns the necessary data on the report, by creating a Record Selection Formula, or basing your report off a Stored Procedure, or a Command Object that only returns the desired data set.
    4. Do you use the special field "Page N of M", or "TotalPageCount"
    When the special field "Page N of M" or "TotalPageCount" is used on a report, it will have to generate each page
    of the report before it displays the first page, therfore it will take more time to display the first page of the report.
    If you want to improve the speed of a report, remove the special field "Page N of M" or "Total Page Count" or formula that uses the function "TotalPageCount". If those aren't use when you view a report it only format the page requested. It won't format the whole report.
    5. Link tables on indexed fields whenever possible.
    6. Remove unused tables, unused formulas, unused running totals from the report.
    7. Suppress unnecessary sections.
    8. For summaries, use conditional formulas instead of running totals when possible.
    9. Whenever possible, limit records through selection, not suppression.
    10. Use SQL expressions to convert fields to be used in record selection instead of using formula functions.
    For example, if you need to concatenate 2 fields together, instead of doing it in a formula, you can create a SQL Expression Field. It will concatenate the fields on the database server, instead of doing in Crystal Reports.
    SQL Expression Fields are added to the SELECT clause of the SQL Query send to the database.
    11. Using one command as the datasource can be faster if you returns only the desired data set. It can be faster if the SQL query written only return the desired data.
    12. Perform grouping on server
    This is only relevant if you only need to return the summary to your report but not the details. It will be faster as less data will be returned to the reports.
    Hope this helps!!

    Shweta

  • Report Load Error

    After running 30-40 Crystal Reports we get a 'Report Load' error on the .Load() command. At this point we cannot run any of our 8 reports created with Crystal Reports. To resolve the issue we restart IIS and then the reports load and run without problem.
    Recently we upgraded our project from .NET 1.1x, VS2003, CR 9.X  to  .NET 2.0, VS2005, CR 10.2. This intranet web site runs under IIS 6 on WS 2003. Prior to the upgrade we did not see this behavior.
    To create the report we send Crystal Rerports a dataset and then output the report to a PDF. Any ideas on how we can resolve this issue?
    Here is sample code for producing our reports:
    <code>
                       Dim amortReportDocument As ReportDocument
                       Dim reportPath As String = Server.MapPath("./amort.rpt")
                        amortReportDocument = New ReportDocument
                        amortReportDocument.Load(reportPath)
                        amortReportDocument.SetDataSource(ds1)
                        Dim myExportOptions As CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportOptions
                        Dim myDiskFileDestinationOptions As                                                                           CrystalDecisions.Shared.DiskFileDestinationOptions
                        Dim myExportFile As String = FilePath & FileStamp & ".pdf"
                        myDiskFileDestinationOptions = New CrystalDecisions.Shared.DiskFileDestinationOptions
                        myDiskFileDestinationOptions.DiskFileName = myExportFile
                        myExportOptions = amortReportDocument.ExportOptions                    myExportOptions.DestinationOptions = myDiskFileDestinationOptions
                        myExportOptions.ExportDestinationType = ExportDestinationType.DiskFile
                        myExportOptions.ExportFormatType = ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat
                        amortReportDocument.Export()
                        Response.ClearContent()
                        Response.ClearHeaders()
                        Response.ContentType = "application/pdf"
                        Response.WriteFile(myExportFile)
                        Response.Flush()
                        Response.Close()
                        Response.End()
                        amortReportDocument.Close()
                        amortReportDocument.Dispose()
    We added the following to the page unload event:
        Private Sub page_unload(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Unload
            GC.Collect()
        End Sub
    </code>

    Ok lets try this:
    Right click on the temp folder (where the .rpt filed are getting created at runtime) -> properties.
    go to Security tab.
    click on Add.
    enter (with out "") "IIS_WPG" in Object name window.
    Click on Locations.
    Select the machine name in the tree.
    Ok.
    Click on "Check names".
    OK.
    Give full control to it. (For testing purpose please ignore any warning signs).
    OK.
    Also please include the ReportDocumentObject.Close(), ReportDocumentObject.Dispose() and GC.Collect() in your page_upload event.
    Does it help?

  • Report.load hangs...

    Post Author: daryl
    CA Forum: .NET
    I am using vs2008 and crystal 10.2.xxx (which comes with vs2008)
    I have a windows service which attempts to load a crystal report.
    However on the load event, the program hangs (forever).
    The report is a report that was created using vs2008.
    one of the issues I have read about is that it may be trying to log into a database, which I don't want it to do.
    I just want to load the report so I can get the parameter values.
    assign a datasource then export the report.
    Is this a problem with cr10.2?  This used to work with vs2003

  • Slow report load...

    Hello all,
    I am having an issue with report loading...I have one report particularly that I am testing with and monitoring results. I am running CR2008 SP2 & VS .NET 2003 & Win XP SP3. At the start of my app, I create a report, load and dispose...I also create a new viewer and assign it the report and then close and dispose of it also just for the heck of it.
    This report takes about 53 seconds to load (report.load(reportname) takes 53 seconds to execute), but when I do the initial report on app load it only takes about three seconds to complete. If I run the report again it takes three seconds. This is all well and good, but if I wait a while (around two mins) and then execute again it takes 53 seconds again. Everything is great inside the "two minute" mark. It seems that the performance of report.load() decreases and is completely horrible by two minutes after execution time. Any help with this? If tried about everything I know and I'm getting nowhere really...
    TIA
    -Coty

    Hi,
    Did you ever resolve this?
    I have a client who is reporting similar behaviour:
    We monitored the following behavior.
    After a restart of the web/app server the first opening of a report takes very long (60 seconds or sometimes longer). I think this is normal, because of using .NET to open the report, .NET needs some time to recompile its application after a server restart.
    - Afterwards, opening the report takes 7 seconds.
    - Opening the report a third time, the same result.
    - Logging off from the application and logging on again (also with a different user) it takes 7 seconds to open the report.
    - Logging off from the system, wait some time (30 minutes or longer) and the opening the same report again takes MUCH longer (20-30 seconds).
    - After this it runs normally (again 7 seconds).
    Thanks,
    Nicola

  • Link to report an issue with Podcast update

    Someone posted a link so we could report an issue with the Podcast app the last time there were issues with an upgrade.
    I sync with my laptop iTunes. Since this latest update to the app, when I delete a podcast in iTunes on my laptop it will not delete on my i devices during a sync with my laptop. It just grays them out and leaves them on my device. It looks like I can manually delete them, but when you click the edit function to delete them, they are no longer grayed out, so you can't tell which to delete and which to keep.
    I don't do anything with the cloud, because I have limited wifi service and do most of my updating at a free wifi hotspot.

  • SAP Mobile Sales 2.0 delta load issue for Sales Orders

    Hello,
    we have used Mobile Sales 2.0 with a Windows app for a while now. Our current issue is that sales reps won't see any historical sales order data on their devices.
    Background
    Due customer requirements, we need to make small changes to customer master data attributes and reload all customers from ERP to CRM. Then we ran delta loads (MAS_PARTNER followed by all other objects) to DOE, in which virtually all 5000+ customer accounts were compared. The delta load ran for about 3 days (some performance bottleneck we haven't located yet).
    During the delta load, data on devices was inconsistent. Accounts were missing and all transaction data disappeared. After the delta loads, all accounts and contacts are OK, save for a few. Data from activities (appointments, tasks) have reappeared, as they should. Only sales orders won't reappear. The sales orders exist in the backend and belong to active accounts and sales reps.
    Settings and troubleshooting so far
    We don't have any limitations for sales orders in CRM Sales Mobile configuration.
    We've run delta loads for all objects in transaction SDOE_LOAD.
    MAS_CUSTOMIZATION etc seem fine.
    We've re-run initial load for sales orders from CRM.
    In the test system, we've even reinitialized the whole CDS database on DOE and on the devices, then re-ran the loads.
    Checked steps suggested in discussion
    SAP CRM 2.0 initial load issue
    Historical sales orders (those created before the master data reload) exist in the backend, but don't show up on the device.
    If I change one of those historical sales orders in the backend, it gets sent to the device.
    If I create a new sales order in the backend or on the device, it is saved and replicated just fine.
    To sum it up, it seems DOE is unable to identify the sales orders relevant for replication.

    First Doubt i got clarify by my self as we can go with Unwired Runtime option .
    But i still have doubt in :
    2. How can i Modifying the Main Menu for iOS.
    i am able to customize the same for windows using files SybaseCRM.Configuration.xml file.
    Same how can i do for iphone/ipad.

    I am getting a very strange data load issue in production, I am able to load the data upto PSA, but when I am running the DTP to load the data into 0EMPLOYEE ( Master data Object) getting bellow msg
    Request REQU_1IGEUD6M8EZH8V65JTENZGQHD not extracted; request is in obsolete version of DataSource
    The request REQU_1IGEUD6M8EZH8V65JTENZGQHD was loaded into the PSA table when the DataSource had a different structure to the current one. Incompatible changes have been made to the DataSource since then and the request cannot be extracted with the DTP anymore.
    I have taken the follwoing action
    1. Replicated the data source
    2. Deleted all request from PSA
    2. Activated the data source using (RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL)
