made the Database Query Timeout to 10 minutes. finally it errored out.

Well, I found something that worked for me.
I found a blog post by Ryan Nielsen and it included these instructions:
    Original Post
    Article Text:
Reporting Services - Unable to Connect to Remote Server Error After a restart reporting services, you may come up with Unable to Connect to Remote Server Error when navigating to the web access. Typically an issue like this occurs in the RSWebApplication.config. This file is located in the ReportManager Folder (Example: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportManager) I checked the <reportserverurl> and <reportservervirtualdirectory> tags were the same as before.
    <ReportServerUrl></ReportServerUrl>
    <ReportServerVirtualDirectory>ReportServer</ReportServerVirtualDirectory>
    <ReportBuilderTrustLevel>FullTrust</ReportBuilderTrustLevel>
After changing the ReportServerUrl tag to contain both the server URL and the virtual directory, it could then connect to the remote server.
    <ReportServerUrl>http://Server/ReportServer/</ReportServerUrl>
    <ReportServerVirtualDirectory></ReportServerVirtualDirectory>
    <ReportBuilderTrustLevel>FullTrust</ReportBuilderTrustLevel>
No IP addresses were added or was any IIS settings that I could tell. Leaving the ReportServerUrl tag blank should allow for it to find the server locally.
    End Article Text
I did this and restarted the Reporting Services service and it now works without a problem.
    I hope this helps someone.

  • Report Manager: How to make value sets appear in security workbench

  • Who to manage TimeOut in BPM ?

    Hi Xi Experts,
In SAP WorkFlow, its possible to manage timeout in WorkItem.
I search in IR and ID on BPM design or configuration with no success . Does XI offers a simple way for this ?.
Thanks a lot for your responses.
    Etienne

    Yep,
    it's called deadline.
You can put all the steps you want to be under this timeout condition into a Block Step and then you add a deadline branch to it. In this branch, you configure the amount of time to wait (least granularity in minutes).
We've performed with success a workaround to use timeouts with intervals less than a minute. Use a fork step. In one branch, put the steps (as you would in block step). In the other, use a transformation step and in it you use a mapping to a dummy message with a Thread.sleep() method in a UDF. With this, you can set any amount of time you want.
It was not recommended by Tobias Breyer (for those who don't know, he's the BPE developer, at SAP AG) since fork step does not execute the branches with time paralelism but with logical paralelism (meaning that they'll not necessarily be triggered at the same time). But for practical purposes, it works just fine.

    henrique.

  • SSRS 2008 r2 - the Report Manager won't load unless "/Reports" is added to the DNS entry in address bar

    Need some direction, please.
We are moving off  SSRS 2005 to a new server with SSRS 2008R2. The old installation (2005) a DNS entry was created "reports" with the ip address and port number simple. In the Configuration manager the Report Manager Virtual Directory
is "Reports". Website is Default web site. Typing "reports" into the address bar opens up report manager. When this is done the address shows as reports/reports/pages/folder etc.
The new installation is configured the same(?). DNS entry "reports2" with new ip address and port number. In the Configuration manager the Report manager URL virtual directory is "Reports" URLs: =
http://servername:port/Reports. The issue is when typing "Reports2" into the address bar the report manager won't open unless "reports" is added to the dns name i.e. http://reports2/reports
    is entered.
This thread took me to more like kind thread than my searches. Went into IIS in the default web site I added an htm file with a redirect. Then started it, it works. Maybe due to my inexperience but seems counter intuitive as I thought Reporting Services did
away with any reliance on IIS.

    Hi Urquhart,
According to your description, if you type "Reports2" in the browser, then you want to redirect to the report manager homepage in SSRS 2008 R2, right?
In Reporting Services 2008 R2, it uses HTTP.SYS for HTTP access and it’s independent of Internet Information Server(IIS). The role for HTTP.sys in Reporting Services is that, HTTP.sys receive the user's request, and then send it to report server. Report
Server handle the request(e.g. authenticate the users), and then use HTTP.sys the send HTTP responses again. In a word, HTTP.sys is just a driver, which allow us to communicate the clients(browser) with Report Server without Microsoft Internet Information
    Server(IIS).
So, since HTTP.SYS doesn’t provide URL redirection function, we are not able to redirect "Reports2" to report manager homepage by default. If we want to use redirect function, we should add a .html file in IIS to redirect the user to the report
    manager.

  • Report Manager: Security Workbench missing Add Value Sets

When I navigate Report Manager Super User -> Security Workbench, I do not see the Add Value Sets button or link.

Hi. Thanks for your response. I did see that note, but it applies to 11i, not R12. I could not find that profile option in R12.Search for "FRM: User To Value Owner Access". • How to Configure PeopleTools 8.49 Report Manager ?

    Folks,
Hello. I am using PeopleTools 8.49. I run a process in Process Scheduler successfully but cannot see its output report. It seems that there is a procedure to configure Report Manager at first so that all reports are stored in Report Manager after run processes in Process Scheduler.
Do any folks understand how to configure PeopleTools 8.49 Report Manager properly ?
    Thanks.

Report Manager is a utility in PeopleSoft to view Reports from a different place than Process Monitor. Navigation: Reporting Tools -> Report Manager. It has fours pages: List, Explorer, Administration and Archives.
PSDSTSRV generates a message after a process gets posted in process monitor in order to display reports in Report Manager - List and Explorer page. Hence Integration Broker setup needs to be done and PUB/SUB App Server Processes required to be up and running. Here are the configuration steps:
    - Navigate to PeopleTools -> Integration Broker -> Integration Setup -> Service Operations
    - IB needs to be configured for four services
    •PSRF_FOLDER_CREATE
    •PSRF_REPORT_CREATE
    •PSRF_REPORT_DATE_CHANGE
    •PSRF_REPORT_DELETE
    - Open Service Operation PSRF_FOLDER_CREATE and make it active in General tab.
    - In Handlers tab add a handler and make it Active. Handler name might differ from the screenshots's name but the Application Class definitons must match. Package name is same as the service operation name.
    - In Routings tab, add a routing definition and make it active. Not sure, but I think only one routing definition must be active at a time... Sender and Receiver node are the local nodes - in my case it is PSFT_HR... to confirm your local node, go to PeopleTools -> Integration Broker -> Integration Setup -> Nodes and search for node...
    - Repeat the above activity for rest of the services PSRF_REPORT_CREATE, PSRF_REPORT_DATE_CHANGE, and PSRF_REPORT_DELETE also. Configuration is almost similar e.g., make the service active in general tab, Add a new handler and make it active (class id would differ for all) in handler tab, Add a new Routing Name and make it active in Routings tab.
You might want to navigate PeopleTools -> Integration Broker -> Integration Setup -> Routings / Services to check your routings or Services definition and status.
Here completes IB configuration from PIA. A prior understanding of IB setup would help troubleshooting or any kind of configuraiton understanding in case something looks missing here.
Next step is to start the PUB/SUB App Server Processes... Once these server processes are up and running, reports would get displayed in Report manager - List/Explorer page.
Of course, basic IB setup is pre-requisite for the above activity to work. This includes Gateway configuration (PeopleTools -> Integration Broker -> Configuration -> Gateway), Gateway Setup Properties (PeopleTools -> Integration Broker -> Configuration -> Gateway -> Gateway Setup Properties), Quick Configuration (PeopleTools -> Integration Broker -> Configuration -> Quick Configuration) where you need to Gateway URLs and IB domains are active.
let me know i f u have any questions or concerns... they are all delivered nodes by peoplesoft.
    Thanks!!....

  • Report keeps running in Report Manager

    Hi,
I have a report with around 300,000 records and has 25 columns. It has 5 row groups, toggling and sorting set on it which dynamically gets changed based on report parameters. So, based on what parameter is selected the 5 columns gets interchanged and accordingly
grouping, sorting and toggling on them. We have also heavily used many expressions, subtotals and total on the report. In short it is a very complex report.
I have couple of questions -
    1) ExecutionLog is displaying the RenderingTime but still report output is not displayed on ReportManager?
    2) I feel it is getting stuck while rendering so how to troubleshoot the same?

    Hi M_MAG,
According to your description, you have a large complex report which takes too long to render on Report Manager. Right?
In this scenario, it takes long time one data retrieval and processing, you can take reference to the articles below to optimize you report:
    Troubleshooting Reports: Report Performance
    Reporting Services Performance and Optimization
Also this long data retrieval and processing time may cause the time out issue, so we suggest you adjust timeouts in configuration files:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\ReportingServices\ReportManager\Web.config C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\Reporting Services\ReportServer\Web.config
    <httpRuntime executionTimeout="18000"/>
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\Reporting Services\ReportServer\rsreportserver.config
    <Add Key="SQLCommandTimeoutSeconds" Value="18000"/>
    <Add Key="MaxActiveReqForOneUser" Value="20"/>
    <Add Key="DatabaseQueryTimeout" Value="18000" />
    Also:
Report Manager->Site settings->Report Execution Timeout->select “do not timeout report execution”. And we suggest you cache your report on Report Manager. Please refer to the link below:

  • "Go back to..." Link in Report Manager doesn't go back to page

    Hello,
to use the standard PS report starting functionality I put the PRCSRUNCNTL_SBP on a page and put record name substitution to our runcontroll record. Report triggering works fine though but when I go to Report Manager and click the "Go back to ..." link there it doesn't go back to the runcontrol page instead it "get's stuck" in the search record.
Could this be because our custom runcontrol record has a slight different key structure than PRCSRUNCNTL?
Or is there some other property to be set?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ralf

Yes changing the runcontrol rec back to PRCSRUNCNTL makes the link work again, but then all runcontrolls are displayed in the search, not only the ones belonging to my runcontroll component.

  • Can not see the report in report manager/admin tab

    Hi,
in 8.49 on Win 2003 some users can not see the reports in report manager/admin tab. PS user can see them.
Should we add some grants in user profile ? Which ? Any query to compare that user profile with PS ?
    Thank you.

On the administration page, you will be able to see "View Reports For" header on the top.
Under that header you will see the following fields:
    User ID/Type/Last/Status/Folder /Instance
Above values will be used by PeopleSoft to filter and display the list of reports
If the user has selected Status as Processing and saved the page, PeopleSoft will only show reports which are in Processing status.
If user runs a report and it has been posted, it will not show up in report manager coz the filter value is set to Processing.
Hope this helps. I dont think Permissions has anything to do with this since user is able to view the page.

  • PeopleSoft Report Manager does not show up reports

    Folks,
Hello. I am using Peopletools 8.49.
The Report Manager has 4 tabs: List, Explorer, Administration, Archives
After I run reports using Process Scheduler, nothing shows up under the above 4 tabs and this message comes up:"Invalide or missing parameter in request" under List tab.
I have followed "Process Scheduler Documentation" - Chapter 5 "Using Report Manager" to configure it, but it's not working out.
The following solution is for PeopleTools 8.44:
    http://peoplesoft.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/peopletools-l/report-manager-nothing-showing-under-list-1011644
Can any folks tell me how to solve this problem in PeopleTools 8.49 ?

    Folks,
Hello Thanks a lot for replying.
    1) The default local node (PT_LOCAL) has been set a password that is login user password.
    2) I think I define the Report node correctly under "PeopleTools>ProcessScheduler>ReportNodes" as follows:
    Http Information is selected.
    URL: http://127.0.0.1/psp/ps/psreports
(psp is Domain name, ps is Site name while configure Webserver. psreports is a folder in C:\)
    URI Host: http://127.0.0.1
    URI Port: 80
URI Source: don't need this since Scheduler and Webserver are in the same machine.
    Logi ID: PSADMIN
    Password:PSADMIN
Under Intergration Broker, I have done the follows:
    1) Gateway, Domain, Pub/Sub Server are running.
    2) Service Operations: PSRF_FOLDER_CREATE, PSRF_REPORT_CREATE, PSRF_REPORT_DATE_CHANGE AND PSRF_REPORT_DELETE are set "active" and "Asynchronous One Way".
    3) Login User PSADMIN are granted Roles "Report Super User" and "Report Dist Administrator".
But Report Manager still cannot display Reports by this point.
The only problem is that under "PeopleTools>IB>Configuration>Service Configuration>UDDI Configuration", when Ping the Inquiry URL and Publish URL, I got such an error message: "External System Contact error."
    Inquiry URL: http://PTNTAS28/UDDI/INQUIRY
    Publish URL: HTTP://PTNTAS28/UDDI/PUBLISHING
I think the "External System Contact error" cause Report Manager cannot display Reports. This problem is caused by "Gateway" or "UDDI Server" not running correctly.
    Thus, I have 3 questions:
First, Do I need to change 4 Service Operations from "Asynchronous One-way" to "Request/Response" ? What is Receiver node for routings ?
Second, do I need to set up UDDI Server and configure it ?
Third,, where to set up single signon for the default local node (PT_LOCAL) ?

  • Report Manager problem: The user or group name 'BUILTIN\Administrators' is not recognized. (rsUnknownUserName)

    Hello,
I have a big  problem with Reporting Services 2005 working on Windows 2003 Server.
RS work as Network service, on subdomain reporting.mydomain with SSL wildcard certificate *.mydomain,
Anonymous access: disabled and basic authentication: enabled
ReportManager and reportServer has defualt virtual folders  (/reporting, /reportserver)
    My problem is:
    1) I can't manage security roles and site settings with report maanger. when I try assign roles to new user or group I get followng error:
"The user or group name 'BUILTIN\Administrators' is not recognized. (rsUnknownUserName) Get Online Help"
when i try to execute reports in report manager, parameters controls are not displayed correctly (very simple text boxes) and I can see:
The selected report is not ready for viewing. The report is still being rendered or a report snapshot is not available. (rsReportNotReady)
and I can't see my report in browser (IE 6.0) but only export to PDF, Excel...
other functionality are working  fine i.e upload new files, creatign folders....
    2) Also my reportserver virtual folder does not work correctly.
When I navigate to mydomain/reportserver I can see content of this virtual folder, than when I navigate to ReportService.soap i can see normal ReportServer view
    reporting.mydomain - /Reportserver/

I think it is security issue. What schould i do to solve this problems?
    Wojtek

    Hi Wojtek
I just wanted to know if you found a solution for part (1).  I just recently encountered the problem where:
"when i try to execute reports in report manager, parameters controls are not displayed correctly (very simple text boxes) and I can see:
The selected report is not ready for viewing. The report is still being rendered or a report snapshot is not available. (rsReportNotReady) "
However all my reports are run from the most recent data.  The rsReportNotReady message appears in Report Manager but not the Report Server interface; the latter is able to render the reports.   But both have incorrectly displayed textbox inputs.
    Thanks
    nemo
