Report Navigation Using Hyperlinks to Another Report (not drill down)

I would like 2 sample reports.  The first report would have a hyperlink to the second report.  I want to publish these in BusinessObjects Enterprise and see this functionality using the Dhtml viewer preferably using the "my infoview".
Anyone have or know of samples for this?

Hi,
Go to report painter, in the report display you can see the output types.
choose output area as Info control, Navagation control, dril down control, detail control.
Choose HTML Templet - SAP Template
choose Classic drilldown, choose basic list drilldown
change all this parameters in the report then you will be getting drilldown fuctionality.

Padma

Any torrent program will and can destroy your computer.
You are not the first and will not be the last to learn this.
UnInstall and if your machine is capable Repair Permissions and shut your computer clear off, this allows it to reset and then restart your computer.  Be wary of anything you get from a torrent. Movie, Music, game, EVERYTHING.

  • Web Analysis does not drill down (Essbase datasource)

    Hi!
I have a web analysis document which does not drill down to next level when double clicking on a parent level. In my report I have children of Area dimension selected individually and their parent on rows ( this means I have not used selection where I select only top member and its children; this is because one of the children should not be in the report). This is not an security issue, because I have admin rights to the essbase cube.
Usually when double-clicking on a member in report it should drill down to next level. This report does not drill down.
The strange thing is that if I select "Keep Only" for the top member of that dimension and then double-click it then drills down nicely???
When using a excel add-in and retrieving data there the same kind of report drills down without problems. Any ideas why this drill down does not work properly in Workspace (and also in Web Analysis Stuidio) ?
    kind regards,
    user637777

    Hi!
I checked out the dimension in question. It seems to have implied shares (parent having only one child). There seems to be implied shares in almost all child hierarchies which might explain the web analysis behaviour.
We are using V11. The application is an aggregate storage application.

  • Essbase can not drill down items in Chinese

Hi, there, I just encounter the problem that Essbase can not drill down items in Chinese.
In the outline, I use code for member name. Zooming in at member code is OKAY.
However, when I changed alias table to show Chinese, I could not double click the Chinese item.
Could anyone help? Thanks in advance.

The problem only happens to SmartView 11.1.1.2. However both Essbase Addin and OBIEE works fine. Very riduculos.

  • Creating Hyperlink to Another Report in Same Document

    Hi
Is it possible to create a hyperlink from a cell in one report, to another report in the same WebI document, that doesn't involve the entire reloading of the document.
Also, I want to be able to pass through a filter value.
The reason for the request is we have a report which list certain information about an article. The 2nd report (still in the same WebI document) lists all sorts of other information about the article. The 2nd report contains a lot of information about the article, which doesn't make sense including in the 1st report.
I can create a hyperlink on the article number, which uses the OpenDoc functionality to reload the report and navigate to the 2nd tab (report). If the article number is provided as a prompt on the query, then the data is filtered according to the selected article. That works, but it is not nice, as the report has to reload, and when you click on the tab to go back to the 1st report, that article prompt has been applied there as well.
To get rid of that last error, we could conceivably create 2 queries, 1 for each of the reports, and only have the article input prompt on the 2nd query ... getting messy though.
I would prefer to pass the article number and have that applied to the filter on the 2nd report ... doesn't seem possible in OpenDoc format though, unless I just can't find the querystring parameter to use.
Is there not a way of linking to the tab, without reloading the whole document?
    Cheers,
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,
try getting the parameters to be displayed in a cell and use the parameter lsS or lsM(for multiple values) and pass the parameters to report 2 using openDoc.
The document here lists the options with openDoc,  might be helpful otherwise

  • Using Hyperlink in PDF Report

    Dear all,
i have created a PDF report using report 10g. now i want to put a hyperlink on that report, and when i press the hyperlink , i want to execute one stored procedure.
    how to do this?
    Thanks & Regards

    Omer,
In HTML you can set this with the attribute title. So in reports you can use the command
    srw.set_hyperlink_attrs('title=mytitle');
I've not tested with pdf, but should work also.

  • How to report texts - using infoset or another way?

I have a requirement to report long text fields in EHS incidents - such as an incident "Description of Events" and "Immedaite Actions". I have tried creating an infoset with the incident table EHHSSD_INC_BINFA joined to /BOBF/D_TXCCON, with an additional field to extract part of the TEXT field, but am getting the error ""/BOBF/D_TXCCON" must be a flat structure. You cannot use internal tables, strings, references, or structures as components. -".
How can I report on this TEXT field using infoset or another method?
    Thank you,

  • Line chart will not drill down

I am doing a drill down Group report which will show the Sum of Last year's Sales By Country, State and city over a period of time(by date) for throughout the year 2007. Every group will have a line chart with Data title as Sum of Last year's Sales ($), Group Title as Date and legends displaying countries (or states or cities) as USA,UK,Australia. etc.. I have same sort of line chart for State and City as well.
Now, the problem is my drill down would not work on chart lines or legends as it would do for a 2-dimensional data chart like a bar-chart or pie-chart. The reason is in the Chart Expert->Data->Layout:Group ->in the On Change Of event selection I am able to specify either Sales.Country  (or) Sales.country and Sales.Sales.State. Both options would not let me get the correct linechart with correct data and drill-down working as well.
The only work-around i got is to display the line chart with legends and and showing the Country(or State or City) names in a field in the Group Footer. The drilling will work on those fields, but not on the legends or lines of the line chart. This make my report showing the Country names twice once on legend (with no drill-down) and once on group-footer(with drilling ability to groups below) which is untidy.
Have anyone tried to make a drill-down crystal report on a 3-dimensional data like this? The World Sales report in Crystal reports Samples\General Business\World Sales Report is the best example of how i would like to see my charts to drill down. However, they drill down across a 2-dimensional data. I am publishing this Crystal Reports in Business Objects Infoview.

Wow. That post almost made my eyes bleed. You may want to add some white space for readability.
Anyways - as Falk said. You should move or re-post this in the [Crystal Reports Design|SAP Crystal Reports; forum. They specialize in this sort of thing. Us dev guys here make sure we can see the chart without errors and don't do much beyond that.

  • Displaying Hierarchies in columns (i.e. across not drill down)

    Hi Guys,
My client needs me to display the Organisational Hierarchy and its attribute (manager of each org unit) in columns. i.e. org unit level1, org unit level1 manager, org unit level2, org unit level2 manager, org unit level3, org unit level3 manager,.........
Typically the hierarchies are displayed in rows that is higher node on top and when drill down the subsequent levels underneath it.
Please guys help me out. my client is behind me for this

    Hi Raj,
I think we need some clarification what exactly you need.
The standard way of showing hierarchies is to show them in one column with different indents depending on the level of nodes. Another columns are to show key figures.
If you want to show the next level of hierarchy not only in the next row but also in the next column then this is not a standard solution and I'd propose to use VBA coding.
So, the answer depends on your needs.
    Best regards,
    Eugene

  • BexGetData over data elements that are not drilled down

    Hi,
I create a query in the query designer open the same in the analyzer. I perform navigations on the same and convert the worksheet to formula.
Now the BexGetData formula contains references only to the items that have been drilled down in the rows or columns. Is it possible to reference the data elements in the free characteristics section (which have not been drilled down in the workbook before i convert to formula).
Basically I am trying to avoid having to retrieve a large amount of information if I need to build a formula based on many data elements.
    Thanks

Well you cannot as the BexGetData  works with the Analysis grid and its cells which are displayed in the result areas (rows and columns) and doesnt refer to Free chars
    PS-
To avoid formula errors being displayed when you open the workbook in formula mode, configure the data provider for the analysis grid such that the results are displayed offline. This allows you to display the data in your result set without the need to connect to the server.
