  • Crystal Report 9 How change graphic location?

    Post Author: Maroxye
    CA Forum: Formula
    Hi!,
We works with Crystal report 9. I know that in X1 version, you can change the graphic location but how can i make that in version 9? I put a picture in my report and i want to change the source of this picture according to a parameter.
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi
once u have process scheduler setup, under server definition u will add crystal to run with min and max api ware. this will take any crystal running on that scheduler.
on the psprcs.cfg file u will add the path where it should pick up for running the report. if u look into the install guide, everything is clearly mentioned.
    Thanks!

  • Report 2.5 and Graphics

I cannot embed any Graphics Display into Report.
    I run Reports 2.5.5.2.7 on Windows 2000.
every time I get the following error:
    <<
REP-0075 Error occurred when running called product.
OG-00064 Program unit parameter extraction failed.
    >>
I have tried many times with different settings and posibilities and always got such error. can't help it
does anybody knows what is going on?
    JH
PS. In Reports/Graphics 6i I do not have such problems.

    Hi JH,
I'm afraid that 2.5.5.2.7 was desupported sometime ago and was never certified for win2000. I don't know however, if that's related to your problem. You can try seeing if you can get the latest patchsets for 1.3.2, but I don't know if those are even available anymore. I did find some references to this error but that was if you had NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS set to '.' and were using an eastern european character set. Those appeared in 6i, however, and were fixed by 6i patch3a.
    Sorry,
    Toby

  • [Web Report]: Error in loading graphics.

    Dear Expertise.
Could somebody tell me the way to solve this problem?
    I got this error :
<b>Error When Calling Up IGS (ListenerRfc: unknown error)</b>,
when i attempt to load the data through graphic (chart component).
Is that any setting that i have to do in IGS ?
If yes, could kindly tell me how to do it (step by step) ?
    Many thanks fellow ..
    Kind regards,
    Niel.

    Wow a quick response.
Tks a lot bro for the explanation ..
I've done all (Nick & Edwin) for your suggestion.
But the outcome after i ran those things was white/blank screen, without any messages.
Did this figure mean that the IGS must be run/restart by Basis Team ??
    Many-many tks bro.
    Still need your guidance.
    Kind regards,

  • 10g reports performance--too much graphics?

    Hi everyone,
I hope someone out there can provide some tips or insight into this issue.
I am executing performance testing on certain reports for my work. This report is 4 pages with a total of 7 line graphs (time series with begin and end dates provided by user). Now I realize there are multiple issues here, underlying SQL, report server config, hardware, # CPUs, RAM, etc...
my test server is a windows 2000 server, 3 GB Ram, 1 2.4GHz CPU. all allocated to a VMWare image running the app server/report server. The reports server has the default config except I changed the initEngine to 4, maxEngine to 6, and minEngine to 1. There are 4 users concurrently running reports by invoking a URL via a JSP page.
Most rdf reports that are run come back between 10 to 20 seconds. but this report takes 20 to 70 seconds. I followed the reports tuning section in the documentation. The only thing I can't do at this point is replace my rdf with rep files (long story). The trace file seems to indicate a the vast majority of time (>65%) dedicated to processing images. There doesn't seem to be anything I can do about that or is there?? btw, the SQL takes about 100 milliseconds when I run it in TOAD.
Their white paper on scalability tests a windows box with 1 GB RAM and 1 866MHz CPU and it shows it can scale up to hundreds of users with response time less than 10 seconds! Base on my config above, I should be spitting these reports out in no time! They did not show the report that was being executed. If I created a text only report and kept retrieving from cache then it would be blazing fast also. but that's not the real world scenario for me.
I guess long story short...is there anything I can do to quicken the response time via the reports or reports config or is it just a matter of getting more hardware resources?

    hello,
please make sure when you read our scalability whitepaper and compare the results with yours that you also carefully compare the report samples. your report has 7 line graphs and that is, to my knowledge, significantly more than in our test scenario.
since you did not specify the exact version of your installation i assume its 9.0.4. you might want to take a look at the REPORTS_DEFAULT_DISPLAY and REPORTS_GRAPH_DPI settings which have impact on image performance. overall, we are aware, that extensive use of graphs has negative impact on performance and the next release of reports will have improvements in this area.
    thanks,
    ph.

  • Improving graphics performance in DIAdem 11.0 Report?

    Dear Forum,
when working on a Report layout, the poor graphic performance of DIAdem is a real problem for me.
For example, many diagrams with lots of data are on one page. One opens the proficiencies of one of the diagrams and changes e.g. the curves color or whatever and closes the dialog window. After this, the whole Report page is refreshed - wich takes up to one minute, depending on the amount of data displayed.
The strange thing is, when I close the given dialog window, and while the report page is being refreshed sent DIAdem to the taskbar and open any other application window, the process of refreshing the screen takes only 1 second instead of 30 seconds.
The question is: Is there a tweak to improve the speed how DIAdem refreshes the report page? Or is there any workaround other than switching applications during refreshing?
    Thanks a lot.
    Greetings from Germany
    Oliver

    Hello Oliver,
The easiest way to speed up the graphics performance in Report with large data files (or 3D graphs with lots of nodes) is to turn off the "Data Layer" (German: "Datenebene") in the "View" menu (German: "Ansicht").
That function basically turns off the display of all data in Report, but retains the axis systems, texts, etc., so you can still move them, place them and edit them without having to guess sizes. Once you're done with the report, simply turn the data layer back on and you're ready to create a PDF, print or save the result as an image file (JPG, BMB, etc.).
I think the performance difference you described (1 vs. 30 seconds) is due to the fact that once DIAdem has drawn a page, it retains an image in memory and will simply draw that image when you bring DIAdem to the foreground (or maximize it). After any edits you make to the report (e.g. change the color of a graph), DIAdem redraws the complete page from scratch, which takes much longer then just re-displaying an image that has already been drawn previously. Someone from the DIAdem R&D team could probably do a better job explaining this, but I think this is the explanation for the time difference in drawing.
Anyway, the "Data Layer" trick should hopefully solve your problem, let us know if that works for you.

  • Customized Reports - Graphics / Calendar Style

    Hi,
    I'm a project scheduler,
    experienced with P5 & P6. I'm currently using
Primavera P6.1. I haven't done much report writing, and I
am currently tasked with creating two customized reports.
    <strong>GRAPHICS ON
    REPORTS?</strong>
    One of the reports is
an overall look at a project, so it would include the
project start/finish and project level user defined field
values. The UDFs are indicators. I want the report to show
the graphic value of the indicator, but I'm not sure how
to make P6 report editor give that. It seems to only be
able to give the text value ("green"). Is there a way to
make the report choose a graphic based on the value of the
    UDF or code?
    <strong>CALENDAR
    REPORT?</strong>
I know a lot of people
want to create a report that is essentially a lookahead,
but on a calendar layout. I've asked Primavera if this is
possible but they referred me to the PARs. I contacted a
couple but haven't found a calendar report. So does
anybody have any suggestions for creating a calendar style
report? It would list each task that is either starting,
ongoing, or finishing on that particular day.<br
    />
    All suggestions appreciated!<br
    />Thanks,
    Sarah

    Hi Jim,
    Thanks for the reply. I
don't like the sound of that - exports for graphics.
Do you mean export all project data & then use it
in some other tool to create the report? Like build an
excel template to process csv data? :cringing:<br
    />
I'm using P6 Web and it's got nice
graphics but you can't create a full PDF printout of
all the data which is why I'm trying to build the
    report.
    PAR = Primavera

  • Calling 6i reports containg oracle graphics in ias 10.1.2.0.2

    Hi,
i'm having troubles calling a report containing an oracle graphics chart.
i'm using ias 10.1.2.0.2 and the corresponding forms tools. and the ias 1.0.2.2.2a isuite server.
Compiling and running the forms is not a problem and neither is caling ordinary reports. i.e reports not containing any oracle graphics. So i'm confident that my server setup is correct.
When i'm calling reports containing oracle graphics charts the reports simply hangs.
Consulting the ias server reports queue i can see that status is 'running the report, now executing pre-form trigger' and that's it. status never changes and the report never finishes.
In my ias 101202 home i've set the following environment variables:
ORACLE_GRAPHICS6I_HOME -> E:\oracle\806 which is where my oracle graphics is installed
GRAPHICS60_PATH -> e:\mastra\rep which is where i store my reports and oracle graphics charts
I keep both the .rdf file and the compiled .rep in the e:\mastra\rep directory.
Strange thing is that if i don't include the full path to the oracle graphics component in the report it's not able to find it at runtime. I can see in the reports status screen it complains about not being able to fond the chart.
what parameter should i set so i don't have to hard code the path to the graphics chart?
If i include the full path to the chart it probably finds it because it doesn't complain but now it hangs telling me that it's running the preform trigger. and then nothing happens.
please help me cause im stuck here.
    thanks for any input.

    Hi Frank,
Our reports are all called from Forms...using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT in the 10g environment. We have hundreds of reports (6i based) that all work fine when run on the 10g app server. The only ones that fail to complete are those that have Graphics embedded. Yet they work just fine when run Client/Server under 6i. On the 10g app server they just run forever/get hung.
If I launch Graphic 6i Builder on the 10g App Server box, I can connect to the database without any problems. And Graphics 6i do run just fine from my 10g forms (converted from 6i Forms) on the App Server. NOTE: My Graphics 6i uses the same tnsmanes.ora and sqlnet.ora that my App Server uses (via a TNS_ADMIN setting in the Windows registry)
Is there something extra special I need to do in the report itself?
    Thanks,

  • How can I run graphic object on report. ( I got REP-1246 Chart not found)

    Hi All,
I made a report that consists a chart object. When I run it on report builder, it works well. But When I call the report from client side, I got "Rep-1246 Char Document not found" . I tried to solve it , I couldn't solve the problem . If I delete chart object from report , then report works well on client side. I didn't use graphics builder to create graphs I used only report builder to do it. I read the threads about it , but I couldn't find the solution. All solutions are about path of graphic file. I don't understand it. Because I only have *.rdf *.rep file. There is no any graph file in my system. I can create it in graphic builder but I don't know how can I deploy the graph object into report layout and run ?
    I need urgent help ..
    Thanks in advice
    Suleyman

Hi again , I used developer 2000. In order to show graphic object on report firstly
I created my graphic object on oracle graph builder. After that I save it like mygraph.OGD . Then I added graphic object on report builder by using graphic object on report builder. When you click the graphic object you will see CHART FILENAME part in part of CHART. In this field , you should add graphic file path that you created on graphic builder. I added mygraph.OGD into this filename part. I worked well.
    Good LUck !

  • Graphics Display in Report

    Hi,
I put a graphics display in a report. I always got 'Floating exception r25desm (core dumped)'. I am using Reports 2.5 and Graphics 2.5 on Unix. What is the problem?
    Lu

What error did you get? Please give the original error code and message to help us diagnose the problem.
In order to run OGD, you definitely need Oracle Graphics installed on the same oracle home as reports.
    Thanks,

  • Slow Graphics in Reports 10g?

    Hi
we are currently building a massprinting engine based on the oracle 10 Reports server.
Now we have the following problem:
Building a normal report without any graphics on it takes under normal conditions not more than 2 seconds.
Based on the same report, we added a graphic on it. a simple pie chart.
NOW IT TAKES 20 seconds to generate that report. This is an impossible time for MASSPRINTING. Now it takes 15 days for our planned massprinting (or better massreporting).
Any ideas or experiences about that problem????
    Thanks anyway.

    Hi,
It is difficult to pin-point the problem without looking at the report and your environment. As I said, it may depend on how many "data points" are you trying to plot on the graph. For example, if there are 1,000 data points (slices in your pie chart), the performance will be slow.
One may need to test the performance on other output formats like HTML, RTF, etc. Then one can say whether this is an engine formatting problem, data fetching problem or PDF outupt problem.
What I would suggest is that you open a Service Request with Oracle Support, who can then get more insight into the problem and advise you accordingly.
    Navneet.

  • Report 2.5 with embedded Oracle Graphics

Can I change the graphics file in runtime?

I haven't been able to change on runtime. What I have done for my purpose is to create a temporary table inside reports and inserted data into the table. Then I called another report that has the graphics in it and the query on that is based on the temp table in the first report. I was able to order the way I want in the second one.

  • Convert Graphical 6i Reports to 11g

    Hi,
I have requirement to convert Graphical reports built using version Report Builder 6i to 11g.. As per the "A GUIDE TO CHANGED FUNCTIONALITY BETWEEN ORACLE REPORTS 6i AND 10g" Graphics functionality is deprecated in Oracle 10g and above...
Can anyone please guide me with which steps i need to follow to achieve the requirement..
    Regards,
    Priyanka

    Hi Andres,
Yes, I did that on one of the report. I converted the report into .rex file, changed all the FONTSIZE to slighthly smaller, but still quite a lot of manual intervention required.
I think that option is certainly to be considered, but may have to write some "clever scripts" to update all the fontsizes quickly and correctly.
I was hoping for some kind of setups that may be required and 11g would automatically correct it at runtime.
    Thanks for your advice though.

  • Reports 2.5 with embedded graphics

When I run the report, the report server and graphic server automatically start. If I passe the parameter Oracle_Shutdown, the report server shutdown when the report close, but the graphic server will stay active. How can I shutdown the graphic server.

I have been searching for an answer for your question as well.
what is the code for shutting down the report server?
    thanks
