Report on Journals, SQL reporting service error

Hi Experts, I have one issue on BPC MS 5.1 "Reports on Journal" issue. When trying to run the report on journals, the pop-up web base screen returning "SQL Reporting Service Error". Going to check the SQL reporting services configuration, all the services are green beside the two optional configurations - "Sharepoint Integration" and "Encryption Keys", and going to webadmin tasks - publish reports, all the items have been build and published. Any clue?

Thanks Sorin, I have no access to the SQL currently, I will get the info ASAP with our basis. By the way, when I run the report from BPC server side, the extra msg came out(not only : Error Msg: Reporting Services Error)

Is this mean something missing when system trying to build the report? since I can't find the Journal report format when I open the link "Http://domain/reports"

This KB article was issued as fix for known Issue as per below link.

Now I assume you are getting this error because downloaded file seems corrupt to me.Can you download again and copy it to local disk and start running from there.

Migrating reports from MS SQL reporting services to BO(Crystal reports)

Hi Folks,
I am looking to migrate my existing reporting application to BOXI and crystal reportsXI. The current reports application is build on Microsoft SQL reporting services platform. I have thousands of reports in the application and am looking for a solution to migrate all these existing reports into BO compatible format, i.e., .rpt format.
Anyone with previous experience of this kind of migration/conversion for suggestions on the quickest and most cost effective solution.
I do not want to be developing all the reports again on BO.
Appreciate any kind of assistance on this.

But to implement this we have to change the architecture of our existing application as presently we are directly accessing the report in URL to run the report. I was not able to found any solution that implements this architecture.
Does Business Object Enterprise 11.5 still supports this architecture?
If we use the architecture specified in the above URL for URL Reporting for Crystal Reports then how we can migrate all our reports to BOE 11.5? We have to use the Publish Wizard for that, to get the ids for our reports?
There was a parameter APSTOKEN how can we get a token. Can it be a static token that can be used by all the users to access the reports?

Ok, this sounds like a known bug ( Bug 5908689 ) in 10.1.3.1, but this was specific to non-Windows platforms. Are you on Linux/Solaris or any other platform? It might or might not be the same problem you are hitting but it does seem quite close (can't say for sure without a close investigation, I am afraid!)
In any case, this bug is fixed in the 10.1.3.4 patchset (besides quite a few other fixes and enhancements) - so would recommend you to first apply the 10.1.3.4 patchset and retest. The patchset is available on My Oracle Support (formerly Metalink) under Patch 7272722. Or you could go a step ahead, and apply the 10.1.3.5 patchset (Patch 8626084) instead which is the latest patchset for OracleAS 10.1.3.x.

Testing PL/SQL Web Service Error

I've generated a web service using JDev 10.1.2, ran it in the embedded OC4J Server. I then generated a stub to test it with, browsed to the web service wsdl file in the original project, and ran the stub. The stub project returns the error:

I was trying to create a webservice based on a function in the package and that's when I got this error. I tried the same with a procedure in the same package and it works.
Am I not supposed to used functions for creating webservices then?

SQL Report Service Stopped error

Hi,
I have problem using BPC and I run the diagnostics in SAP Server Manager. It reported that the SQL Report Service, which is under Computer Services Status, is Stopped.
Then I tried to manually start the SQL Server Reporting Services (MSSQLSERVER) but I got the following message.
Could not start the SQL Server Reporting Services (MSSQLSERVER) serivce on Local Computer.
Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly.
How can this be fixed?

I assume a reboot of the server didn't work?
Like Joost said, perhaps an incorrect installation.
You can check whether reporting services is working by typing //servname/reports in the URL of a web page.

Add SQL reporting services to get Azure sql db data

Dear all,
I have read recently that SQL server reporting services as been remmoved from Azure services. I have a SQL server database on azure which collect different type of data which are collected from a web admin portal by my users.
I have a strong need to bring to that admin web portal a flexible reporting solution for my users to monitor collected data.
Of course I can bring dash board to web application but often it is painful to change web app when a user want different type of report.
What could be the way now to use online reporting service in orde to bring online report for my user of my sql azure database ?

Based on my understanding, you want to use SQL Azure database to design the report, right?
As you mentioned,
Azure SQL Reporting is officially discontinued, so that we can’t design reports with Azure SQL Reporting. However, only the Azure cloud implementation of SQL Reporting is discontinued. All other forms of Reporting Services technology are unaffected. In

Group box vs SQL Reporting Services Bookmark box

Hi,My name is Peter Mead. I have started a job where they have a bunch of Reports written using SQL Reporting Services. My job is to convert these reports in to Crystal Reports to be used in an Enterprise Reporting methodology. The first problem I have is that SQL Reporting Services viewer has a Bookmark box down the left hand side. This Bookmark box looks like a Group box but does not function in the same way. SQL Reporting Services designer allows for the creation of any definable bookmark to be placed in this Bookmark box. How can I replicate or emulate this Bookmark box? Thanks in Advance,Peter Mead

The problem is that SQL RS can only create queries against ODBC and OleDB providers. One of the solutions would be to create a view in SAP DB and query against it, but the logic behind is just too complicated for a view that you can create in SAP. Is there another way that I can interface SAP real time to SQL RS? Anyone had experience with that, or is there a solution from SAP with similar capabilities?

Hi Leon,
maybe you can use the SAP.NET Connector and save the results in SQL-SERVER-Tables or use the OLEDB Provider for SAP from NSX software.

Sql reporting services shutdown

Hello.
In azure portal under SQL reporting there is a message that service will discontinue on 31st October 2014.
Is says that users will have one year to transition...
Does that mean that we can still use full functionality of reporting services until 31st October
2015 ?

Yes, SQL Reporting will discontinue service on October 31, 2014. Customers have 12 months to transition from SQL Reporting, Current SQL Reporting customers can continue to use the self-service option for creation of new report servers in SQL Reporting. But
I suggest you consider to use Azure Virtual Machines running SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to benefit from the full reporting feature set and cost controls features.

Hyperlink from PL SQL Report to a branch

Hi,
Is there a "good" way to hyperlink from PL SQL report to a branch?
I cant use the regular report, as there is a lot of data and I need to control the layout.
I would like to go to another page and pass data to one known field.
Have tried googling and I found this page:

But it seems a bit "hacky", eg.. many places to edit if the page where to move or change in the future (or if one copies the page).
Is there a more "clean" way to do this, or does one have to get his/her hands dirty for such a task?

I managed to write the other code too:
"f?p='||:APP_ID||':686:'||:APP_SESSION||'::'||:DEBUG||'::P686_TBNR,P686_VIS_REGISTER:'||oppdrag.PE_TBNR_BET||'%2CHUSKNYTT"instead of firing the branch and using JS, I just set the two fields that change the logic and basis of the page. However as you see, the "flaw" with the code I wrote, is that if the fields or anything were to change, it will be harder to go in and edit reports that have this type of code.
Have just started with APEX, but I must say I like it a lot..
Just wish there where something inbetween the sql reports and the pl sql reports..
The possibilities of the PL SQL Reports meeting the SQL Reports flexibility would be super.
However, maybe it's good not everything is served on a plate, as this forces me to learn it more in depth. I also love challenges and I like making things properly :-)

SQL Report Viewer Web Part Not displaying Report

I have just completed updating an old report using report builder 3.0. I have added it to SharePoint Designer but have not replaced the old report file.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
All I did was export the old report from sharepoint designer to my desktop. Then opened it with Report Builder 3.0- made changes to the report and saved it with a different name (for safety in case i break things) and then upload it back to the same place where
the old report was located using SP Designer. I then went back to the site in sharepoint that is displaying the old report, and changed the URL path in the SQL report viewer to the new report.
Now the SQL Report Viewer web part isn't showing anything (blank)
