Report on Yellow Bang in Device Manager

Is there a query or report I can use in ConfigMgr 2007 that will list all systems with a Yellow Bang (or UNKNOWN device) in Device Manager? Is that collected as part of Hardware Inventory?
Thanks!

--Joe.

You should actually be able to use the data in Win32_PNPEntity -- Nick wrote a script for it at
http://t3chn1ck.wordpress.com/2011/03/30/script-to-check-devices-without-drivers/
I don't remember if this class is collected by hardware inventory by default or not but it would be easy to add and then create queries and/or reports from the collected data.

  • Microsoft ISATAP and 6to4-Adapter yellow triangles in device manager

    Hello,
we´ve disabled IPv6 via Registry. Now we noticed that the ISATAP and 6to4-Adapter have yellow triangles in device manager. My question is: is that normal behavior, when disabling IPv6? Can we remove this adapters without no issues? Or schould we install
    drives (which)?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
This adapter is used to transfer IPv6 site to IPv4 site, if you disable IPv6, this adapter is useless.
You can directly delete is if you don't need it anymore.

  • Sound issue in WXP - one yellow ! in device manager on Equium

When installing the sound drivers it finds a modem on hih def audio, then when you reboot it throws up an error message. I rolled back the driver but still need to solve the sound problem, in device manager I have one yellow, other device, PCI device.
The sound drivers appear to be there and working, the drivers are Legacy is this right? Looks like a conflit somewhere. I dropped Vista after network problems now XP has sound problems.
    Any Ideas please

    Hi David
Ive checked your other postings created here in the forum and it seems you are a owner of Equium A100-027 PSAAQE series.
    Am I right??
First of all I would like to clarify some things.
Mostly the yellow exclamation marks appear in the device manager because something could went wrong during the driver installation procedure or you used simply a wrong drivers.
I think you should firstly find out if you used right drivers!
Please go to the Toshiba driver page and check again the driver versions and download it again.
Ive noticed that many users download the wrong drivers and try to install it.
On the Toshiba page you will find also the installation instruction. There are 2 txt files available.
One for XP and one for Vista.
Please be sure that you use the right installation instruction for the right OS.
Then download all drivers and follow the installation order mentioned in the txt file!
Usually everything should run ok and you should be able to install all drivers!
    Best regards

  • 15-g092sa - yellow sign in device manager for "PCI Device" (win7x64). Missing chipset drivers

Hi, I just installed Win7 64 Pro - very happy with the machine, it's all crisp and light.
My device maneger reports a missing driver for PCI Device. I can't tell what's missing exactly, the laptop works fine.
I noticed the chipset driver was missing for Win7. For win8.1 it was an Intel driver (?!?, The laptop is an AMD A8).
Was wondering if you can pitch in some info about what is missing and how do I install it.
    Thanks

    Hi:
You need this chipset driver for your model.  Install and reboot.
    http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset?os=Windows%207%20-%2064
You need this driver for the PCI dev.  DL and install the first driver on the list.

If you already tried recover system to factory setting, then you might consider send the laptop in for further inspection.

I tried setting startup to legacy but then the computer doesn't start F11 has no affect and if i set startup to UEFI/CSM i cannot load bios or boot menu. What do i do?

  • K7N2G-L & Bad Processor LED Notification/Yellow Bang

My configuration, as listed below, is continuing to experience a couple of issues:
    1) During *almost* every reboot (cold or warm), the D-Bracket indicates that there is an issue with the processor, and it beeps at me incessantly.  The FSB speeds are correct, and it will even do it if I lower them as well.  I eventually get it to boot, and everything works great.  Any ideas?
    2) I also have a Yellow Bang in Device Manager (Windows 2k Adv Srv), and it states it's Motherboard Resources.  Everything that typically works, has not.  Any thoughts?
    Thank You!

Do you have the ATX12V 4 pin "P4" connector in?
Sounds funny, but download Memtest86 and run it on each stick of RAM independently.
Make sure your CPU and RAM isnt set to performance, also, check to see if theres any thermal compund on the face of the chip, ESPECIALLY if its Arctic silver.
Finally, try resetting your CMOS and make sure you have the latest BIO revision in.
Is that a fresh install of Win2K? If not, backup, format and reinstall, adding the nForce2 drivers first, followed by external sound card drivers (if your using one), network drivers and graphics drivers.

  • T61 yellow devices in device manager

hello, i hope someone can help me
i installed xp and i am getiing the following devices with a yellow flag in device manager
    biometric coprocessor
    network controller
    pci device
    pci memory controller
    unknown device
i try running system update  and it gets an error
networking does work though and i can go to lenovo's site
is there a magic file that will fix this
    thanks
    Steve

I would recommend to download Lenovo System Update that should fix most of the missing drivers. If you still have any missing drivers after updating the driver with system update you could post again, but i'm sure the list should be shorter then.
You can find system update here:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/tvsu-update.html
    (version 3.14 is for XP)
Optionally you can download and install each driver manually from here:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/homeLenovo.do
(select you system and you should be given a list of drivers for your computer. Since you didn't specify the type/model of your T61 i couldn't give you the correct direct link)
    - "biometric coprocessor" is the fingerprint software
    - "network controller" might be the wireless adapter
    - "pci memory controller" should be fixed with the chipset drivers i think
    - "unknown device" need the hardware ID found in device manager to say what this is
    - pci device could be the Intel AMT driver or modem drivers....not 100% sure

  • Devices Not Showing Up in Device Manager After WinXP Install

I installed Windows XP Professional CD after re-formatting and partitioning the hard drive in my ThinkPad T42 (2378-FVU).
After finishing the install and running Windows Update for an eternity, Device Manager still can't detect several items.  (I was able to get my wireless networking to work after installing a driver from Intel.)  These are the "Other Devices" in yellow listed in Device Manager:
      - Ethernet Controller
      - PCI Modem
      - Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
Yes, I dutifully downloaded and installed these and other device drivers from Lenovo's website.
Why doesn't WinXP SP3 detect my devices?!?
I saw other posts about a WinXP Pro install on T41 Thinkpads with the same problem.  The recommended solution was to install the device drivers "twice."  I'm sorry, but I don't understand what that means, twice?  The solution also seemed to indicate that the install is supposed to be done at two different locations.  But, only one path is listed in the solution and my drivers are installed in the solutions' paths.
Hopefully, someone can be more explicit about how to do the driver installations twice.
Thank you in advance for your help.

  • Device Manager - manage hardware device error

I have tried everything I know including Microsoft Detect and Fix It, reinstalling the driver.   Well, it was detected but still not fixed.  The issue is from day one.  Getting a yellow rectangle in device manager.  How do I fix
    this?     see below
    Intel Pentium(R) processor N- and J-series / Intel(R) and Celeron(R)
    Processor N- and J-series EHCI USB - OF34

Hi, this is the Small Basic programming language forum so moving where you may get better redirection.
You should state exactly which device you mean, which OS version (XP SP3, Win8.1 etc) and exactly which device driver (e.g. a link to its download loacation).  For all of these it must be full details and probably the device manufacturer will be the
best bet for info.  Sometimes the yellow rectangle in device manager refers to something that isn't a problem - if it is a processor not working then I would't expect to even start the PC so it may not be an issue at all.

  • Non Functional Wireless Adapter: Visible and Functional According to Device Manager Doesn't Appear in IPConfig

    Hi all,
This one has me completely lost. The user normally connects via a USB wireless adapter, which stopped working a few days ago apparently of its own accord. The device is detected and reported as working by both Device Manager, and the Network Connections
menu, however it doesn't appear at all in ipconfig- Not even to say that it isn't connected to anything. When I try to connect to a network, it reports no connections available as if it was out of range. However, I'm sitting right under a known working access
    point.
The device is enabled in devmgmt, there is no physical switch to disable it, and the adapter itself is tested as working both on different hardware running Windows 7 and 8, and the same hardware running Slax Linux. Wired connectivity to the affected machine
appears to be fully functional, which leads me to discount the TCP/IP stack.
I've tried the default PnP driver, the driver that came with the device on a mini-CD, and the latest driver from the manufacturer. I've also tried a completely separate USB wireless adapter, made by a different manufacturer, which proved to have the same
    problem with identical symptoms.
I've been through power settings, it is set to Maximum Performance as per the default. I've checked the WLAN autoconfig service, which is running and starting automatically as it always has. I've even checked registry settings suggested elsewhere on technet,
and those are fine. System restore produced no results. Virus scan came back clean.
The only two things that seem unusual are A) the fact that the adapter doesn't appear at all in ipconfig, and that Cisco AnyConnect VPN client begins complaining in the event viewer, error description "ROUTTABLE_ERROR_GETBESTROUTE_FAILED" - Presumably
due to the sudden lack of usable interfaces
With all this, I'm out of ideas. Thanks for reading, and any suggestions (even insane ones) would be much appreciated.

    Hi Blexie,
According to your update, I think you have fixed it by yourself.
I am glad to hear the issue is resolved .

  • Device Manager reported driver missing for Officejet 7310 printer

I used the full-feature install software downloaded from HP site to setup an Officejet 7310 printer on a Lenovo T540p laptop with Windows 8.1 64-bit OS.  The install and the printer appear to work correctly as I can print and I can also scan from the HP Solution Center utility.  However, the Device Manager reports two errors/anomolies as follows.
Under the "Multifunction adapters" entry the Officejet 7300 series Properties shows the Device Status as:
This device is disabled. (Code 22)
Click Enable Device to enable this device.
Under the "Other devices" entry theOfficejet 7300 series Properties shows the Device Status as:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.
I find this a bit baffling as I believe the install software is supposed to include the driver(s), plus the printer seems to function (which could be due to default Microsoft drivers).
Any thoughts on how things got in this state and how to recover would be deeply appreciated as I prefer to not "ignore" the error messages.
    Thanks,
    Glenn

Yes I was able to remove the USB instance and rename the network-connected printer instance as the sole printer.  I thought that should work, but I was a bit paranoid given the other weird things that happened with the package install.
I'm good to go; thanks again.
