Report output showing in technical names

Hi,
When I execute a query, input variables and report out put are shown up generally in InfoObject descriptions before. Just suddenly what happened don't know these reports are showing up output in Technical names, Input variables and the report as well. Where do you make this to set as default to display in InfoObjects descriptions input variables and the report as well instead of technical names. Kindly help, I appreciate your answers. Thanks

Sometime it happens because of the lanugate setting of the browser.
If the browser is internet explorer, you can go to Tools > Internet Option > General > Language and if you are using English, it should be added there (and I guess as first language).
Try if it solves your issue.

Let me give you some background. In the Windows registy, every Oracle Home has a setting called NLS_LANG. This is the variable that controls, among other things, the numeric characters and the language used. The variable is made up of 3 parts. These are:
language_territory.characterset
Notice how there is an underscore character between the first two variables and a period between the last two. This is very important and must not be changed.
So, for example, most American settings look like this: AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252
The second variable, the territory, controls the default date, monetary, and numeric formats and must correspond to the name of a country. So if I wanted to use the Greek settings for numeric formatting, editing the NLS_LANG for Discoverer Desktop to this setting will do the trick:
AMERICAN_GREECE.WE8MSWIN1252
Can you please check your settings? Here's a workflow:
a) Open up your registry by running Regedit
b) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE
c) Look for the Oracle Home corresponding to where Discoverer Desktop is installed. It's probably called KEY_BIToolsHome_1
d) Clicking on the Oracle Home will display all of the variables
e) Take a look at the variable called NLS_LANG - if it is correct Exit the registry
f) If its not correct please right-click on it and from the pop-up select Modify
f) Change the variable to the right setting
g) Click the OK button to save your change
h) Exit the registry

Hierarchy in BW and showing the technical name

I have created a Hierarchy off 0COSTCENTER. I only want the technical names of the cost centers itself to show. All other node levels I do not want the technical name to show up.
Can someone let me know if this is possible?

We had the same problem. Unfortunately this setting only seems to be available for a query view. We were using web reporting anyway so we just converted the dataprovider to be a query view where this setting had been made. It's a bit ugly but it worked.

Currency Conversion Variable is showing the Technical name of the variable.

Hi friends,
We are using currency conversion Variable in our querie, it was showing the description of the variable until yesterday.
Somehow something has changed and suddenly its showing up the Technical Name inteasd of Description. This is happening not only to one variable but for many of them.
Can someone pls guide me how to rectify this?

Display description of report rather than the technical name

Hi all
I have made a few reports using the Bex report designer that have been emailed to end users by the bex broadcast facility as a PDF
However, when end users receive the email the attached PDF received has the technical name rather than the description.
Does anyone know how to change this so that end users receive the PDF with the description rather than the technical name.

Yes the DOS 8.3 shortname format is the only accepted for the ThinkVantage button registry key.
One general way to obtain DOS 8.3 formats from a path except from DIR /x in a CMD window is to use execute a VBSCRIPT file that uses the FileSystemObject class
If you save the following sample vbscript code to a text file with .vbs extension and open it in file explorer it will write the short path of LSC.exe to a file text file named "Path_DOS83.txt":

PO custom XML report output shows junk characters

Hi,
One of our PO custom XML report's output(pdf) shows junk characters. when these junk characters are copied to any text editor, it shows correct text characters.
Below are our environment details:
RDBMS: 10.2.0.
Oracle E-Business suite: 12.0.6
OS: Oracle Sun 10
This is a clone system and the issue started after cloning

Run report that show "BOTH" campaign name AND contact when getting integration error message that relates to Lead Campaign Association

When running an External Calls Failed report for Lead Campaign Association (e.g.Attempted to add a campaign member where either the member id 00Q70000015ngo5 or the campaign id null is null.), the report show me the contact but not the campaign the contact was trying to associate itself to in SFDC. In order to see the campaign, I have to click on the downward arrow and click on the "view external call details" FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL CONTACT.
Is there a report I can run that shows me both the campaign and contact for the error? I can't efficently trouble shoot issues in Eloqua if I have to view each individual record with two or more clicks.
Any advise?

I am getting the same error when opening the J2se Development Kit 5.0 Update 8 after I press the Run button. ( "This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and than you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package").
Is there a solution ?

RTF Report output shows Duplicate or Missing lines

Hi,
We have a program which prints XML output into the concurrent program output file and the output for this file is set to PDF attached to an RTF template.
The RTF output generated should ideally have the output in the following manner
Header 1
- Line 1
- Line 2
- Line 3
- Line 4
Header 2
- Line 1
- Line 2
- Line 3
- Line 4
But, once the concurrent program completes execution, the RTF template displays data as -
Header 1
- Line 1
- Line 2
- Line 3
- Line 4
Header 2
- Line 1
- Line 1
- Line 4
Here HEADER1 section is working perfectly fine. But HEADER2 section shows duplicate lines and line are missing as well.
I checked the XML Output - The data is perfect as required. In case we fetch the concurrent program out file (.out file) and load this into the RTF template offline (in MS Word BI - Addin), and do a preview, the output there too is fine and as required.
I am doubting that the XDO process which merges the XML into RTF template, after the concurrent program generates output, is creating this effect.
Could someone please let me know the reason of this behavior. Is there any metalink note or procedure that we need to follow.

In addition to this, I executed the 'XML Publisher Template Re-Generator' program in XML Publisher Admin resp. The RTF template shows no error.

Reporting output shows no data

hi everyone .. i have a problem with service manager reporting that it shows no data when i run any reports !! .. i have registered the data warehouse management server and its been months since the service manager has been installed so it has to be synchronized
by now !! .. i have noticed that some of the data warehouse jobs didn't run such as
MPSyncJob so i did run it from the console but nothing got solved .. i have also restarted the 3 services in both
management server and data warehouse
server but it didn't work also !! can anyone here help ??

Click: Alt+F12
A new window will pop-up. Here Click: Option.
Go to Tab: Expert
In Sub-Tab: Control,
Check the Boxes:
1. Show Keys in All Drop-down Lists
2. Sort Items by Keys
On to the same Main Page: SAP Easy Access,
Click: Shift+F9
Check the Last Box: Display technical names

Why dont you use WAD and then switch off these properties in Webitem paging properties.
i think that would give you more flexibility with paging,scrolling but with some extra effort of creating a WAD

Field description in chart legend instead of technical name (BW query)?

I am building a report from a BW query. The report has a grouping field and a bar chart in the group footer. When I execute the report the legend shows the technical name of the key figures even though I checked the "Show description" field in the "options".
I can change the labels in "preview" mode (provided I can guess the real names), but just like in the field explorer I would prefer to always have the text instead of the nonsense technical name.
Is this possible?

hello all,
you can use a 2 chart workaround for this.
1) the first chart is the Group chart you already have...just disable the legend
2) now create an Advanced chart using the description field as the On Change Of
3) set the Order of chart to correspond with the technical field that the group is based on
4) preview the chart and right click on the x axis area and format the axis so nothing is showing
5) do the same for the y axis
6) keep right clicking on all of the chart objects and changing them to transparent
sounds annoying, is annoying, but it works.

Display the technical name of the last level of the hierarchy

I have a report with hierarchy. Each level of the hierarchy uses different infoObject. I want the report to display the technical name only for nodes from specific infoObject. For example if the infoObject uses 0cust_grp1 (for the first level), 0cust_grp2 (for the second level), 0cust_grp3 (for the third level) and 0customer (for the last level) and I want to show the technical name only for the 0customer infoObject. I know how to do it in WAD reports. Is there a way of doing it in the Query Designer?

Check the below possibilities.
1. You can do that in a workbook.
2. Create a copy of the same hierarchy and for the 0CUSTOMER object and nodes give tech names as text also.

Technical names in Business Role selection screen

Hello,
When I log on to the WebUI I get the selection screen for the Business Roles (correct because I'm assigned to multiple).
But in the selection screen the Technical Names of the Business Role is hown too and I don't want to show these to the users.
So does anybody know how we can disable showing the technical names in the business role selection screen?
Can it be done in BSP crm_ui_start > Page Fragments > selectBusinessRole.htm Selection of Business Role? If so, what do i have to change?

This technical information is the tooltip that is comming from the following line.
crm_ui_start > Page Fragments > selectBusinessRole.htm
at line no 29
tooltip="<%= profile_detail %>"
If you can remove this line then technical information, that comes up when you do mouse over the role description, wouldn't come.

Make appear technical name and name of a query in separates columns

Hello everybody,
I have a question about menus of the Bex explorer (but maybe it's related to any menus of SAP).
I would like to show the technical name of a query or a workbook in a single column, something like :
Technical name | Name of the query/workbook | Last modification
For now, I can only the technical name or the name (or both side by side) but I can't have three separated columns.
Is there any mean you know to do this ?

When I speak about the bex, I mean when you click on the icon to open a query/workbook, you see all of them inside a window.
