Report Painter - Available characteristics

Hello all,
Simple Question on report Painter...
When I select characteristics to the lead column I expect to see al parameters that been choosen for the library. However, only part of the characteristics are available.
I try to figure out how can I  approach to the rest of characteristics that are in the library.
Thanks in advace and best regards,
Nir

Hi Jasmina,
I created a new Report by coping a standard one in Library 6P3 (T-Code GRR2). I need to select data also with the Dimension "Hour" for quantity that been planed with activity input method(I'm not in front of a system now so I can't give you the technical name), However, when I look into Library 6P3 with the rellevant t-code and get into the characteristic list I can see  that it in used, I can see the rellevant charcteristic with a number and the 'V' sign beside it. When I try to choos it at the lead column - it is not appear at the list of available characteristic.
I Cheked also standard report from 6P3 and this behavior act the same.

  • Report Painter - New Characteristics in General Selection

    Hi,
I'm trying to modify a custom FI report (that uses CCSS reporting table) by adding additional characteristic fields into its general data selection.
So far i've added these ZZ fields into CCR1S, and activated characteristics in library.
I can see (by debugging SAP standard) that fields being populated from table COSP. As those fields are not in table COSP but are from AUFK, what are the following steps to take for correctly populating these and being able to use as general selection criteria? (GRCT Maintanence?how¿)
    Any help/suggestion greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, Regards.

have you created a new calculation routine in form pool SAPFGRWG equivalent to E06_CALC_CURR_CONV_HSL? doesnt this explicitly get the company code currencies

  • Create new report in report painter

    Hi
Can any body let me know the steps for creating new report in report painter.
    Thanks in advance
    Prasad

    Hi Hari,
Please find below mentioned and overview on report painter and its usage.
The Report Painter is similar to the Report Writer, but is simpler to use. Most of the functions in the Report Writer are also available in the Report Painter. The Report Painter is based on the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) principle.
    Report Painter Structure:
Characteristics must be defined in your report, either as data selection criteria, report rows, or report columns. To improve processing time, you should specify all characteristics in general data selection that are not needed in the report rows or columns.
The process flow used for creating reports using report painter can be summarised as following.
    Create set->Select library->Define report->Check report->Assign report to report group->Generate report->Execute report
Hope i had been of help to you, please reward points.

  • Available characteristics and key figures in drilldown reports

    Hi,
I'm wondering which table /structure defines what characteristics and key figures are available for drilldown reports (eg. G/L), and if it is possible to add new chars/key figs.
I reckon there must be a structure resembling Report Painter libraries, where you can select fields from a reporting table. I just can't find that structure anywhere.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Jarkko Kuusisto

For GL the menu path is Financial accounting-general ledger accounting-G/L accounts-Line items-line item display.
Here you select the way the line item display is set up. Also you can select the fields you want and additional fields as well. Some tcodes range from O7F1 and O7FE.
This varies by module but is generally in the line item or information systems section in configuration.
Go to GR21 and drop down the tables and you can see all the tables availble for report painter.
You can add tables to report painter in sm30 in table T804A. That makes it availble for report painter.
please assign points. It is appreciated.

  • Add new key figure with characteristics in report painter

    Hi expert,
I am create a new report painter in GRR2 under report group 8A2 (EC-PCA: Standard Reports) and i would like to create a report show on G/L amount with segment.
When i click on first column to assign "key figure with characteristics" i am not able to find characteristics "segment".
Please kindly advice how to create in new characteristics in report painter?
    Thanks.
p/s : profit center number is same with segment number
    regards,
    ng chong chuan

    Hi,
"segment" is not a characteristic of classical profit-center accounting (libraries 8A*). Its a New GL characteristic, thus create a report painter report for New GL library.

  • Report Painter - Display two characteristics on one line in lead column

I have a requirement to produce a Report Painter report to display values by Cost Centre and Cost Element.
The requesting user wants to see the Cost Centre AND Cost Element keys displayed on each row of the report, to allow for manipulation in Excel.
I have no problem grouping Cost Element within Cost Centre or vice-versa, but am not aware of any way of displaying both key values on each row in the lead column (or anywhere else).
    Has anybody done this?

    Hi Robin,
the request is not unusual. However, report painter does not allow for two key columns or a key column combining two characteristics. You might consider using SAP Query (with table COEP or COSS/COSP for aggregates) if you do not want to resort to developing the report in ABAP.

  • Report painter: Carry Forward (KSLVT not available)

    Hi,
I am building a report based on table GLPCT (using report painter), in a column I need to have the carry forward and the records of the current year . Aim is to have, for a group of accounts, the total from the begining in SAP to today: Carry forward (KSLVT from previous year) + Janvier (KLS01) to KSL03 or KSL05 (depending of parameters filled in selection screen).
I don't know how to select or add the carry forward (field KSLVT).
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Br,
    Aymeric

    Hi Sridhar,
thanks for your answer. For Library 8A2 in GR22, there is no dedicated fiedl for carry forward (KSLVT) in key figures, but there is:
    - KSL-GES_JAHR (Total year)
    - STOCK_ACT (Closing bal. in PrCtr-Currency)
    - IST_KONZW_KUM (Cumulated actual)
I think that could help me. I will check and keep you update.
An other think is we did a profit center reorganisation (hierarchy modification), in March, and we did delete entries in GLPCA (but we did not do anything within GLPCT, tha's were balances are stored).
And it seems transaction 2KES has not been re-run after the reoarganisation, I have those points to check also.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Report Painter Characteristics Long Text

    Hi all,
I'm trying to correct a report painter report that was developed by one of our consultants some time ago.  The same consultant also created the library from which this report is based.
The library uses our ZZSPLITT table.  Apparently this is an FM table based on FMSPLITT.  I gather those not in US public sector have little or no use for this table, but as a county government, we use it a lot.
The problem is that I cannot get the long text to appear for the characteristic Fund (RFUND).  The report EXPLODES both the RBUSA and RFUND fields.  I can get the long text to appear for the Business Area (RBUSA), but not the Fund.  When viewing the long text for the fund, the fund number itself appears rather than the long text.
Does anyone know how the long text is retrieved?
For awhile I thought maybe the problem was the ZZSPLITT was defined.   I could see that RBUSA had a foreign key (check table) pointing to TSGB while there was nothing similar for RFUND.  I have since corrected this and am using FMFINCODE as the check table, yet the problem report still does not pick up the long text for the fund.
I've also experimented with the variables for RBUSA and RFUND used in the General Data Selection without any progress.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.  Thanks!
    Shaun

Do obtain text from table STXL you can use FM: READ_TEXT.
Get the entry from STXL that you are requiring and get the text using this FM.
    thanks.

I had made couple of SD reports in report painter 4 year ago .. as far as process is concern you have create library , but it deals with information structure which start with s0* , after defining information structure in library it take to select the fields and display them on your out put . information structure have the statistical data most of the time . As i worked on information structure , so31,32,33 .....
I t creates ABAP program like ABAP query creates in background . if you execute Customer Over due analysis or in Co02 cost analysis report or MC* ( MM stock reports ) those are in report painter .
Hope this'll give you some guide line ...
As far as I know about report painter, It create a report in background..Like when you make ABAP query (SQ01, 02, 03 ) .. It will create a report. You cant modify the report . You have to get OSS id in order to do that. if you're ready do it then you can pass it to Memory and can achieve your goal ...
I think it will give you some hint. I wish I could have authorization to use report painter on my this project so I can help you out practically.
Please see these steps , it`ll help you ...
    http://www.thespot4sap.com/Articles/Code_CostCentreReport.asp
The variation objects are coming from the sets.
For example, when you read the report 'Cost Centers: Actual/Plan/Variance'(T-code : S_ALR_87013611), you can find the characteristic 'Cost Center' is set as a 'set variable'. So the cost center in the report left side are coming from the cost center group that you input.
Does any know if we could use Report Painter across two controlling areas? Any documentation available will be great. Yes. When setting up a report in CCA you can have multiple controlling areas. In the General data selection you will have the option for the CA as a selection.
You can also use standard references objects to construct your own reports: libraries, standard layouts, default columns, and row and column models, all in the standard R/3 System, are available for custom reports.
Report Painter report definition requires several Preparatory Steps, depending on the complexity of the report to be generated.
    1) Create a library and pick your reporting tables.
    2) Create your report
    3) define your set up within the report
    a)General data selections
    b)Colimns
    c) rows
    d) formulas
Standard layouts are maintained in the IMG "Financial Accounting" under "Special Ledger -> Information System -> Maintain standard layout.
Create libraries, which means assigning the
    characteristics
    key figures
    Predefined columns
For each of these categories you need to select the objects to be used in reports of the specific library. You define the sequence of the objects in the selection lists of the Report Painter in field "Position". Frequently used objects should be at the top of the list.

I have created a report through report writer/Painter(GR51). My query here is to link this report to a transaction code. Could you please suggest me how can I acheive this?
Go to SE93 and select the Transaction with Parameters ( Parameter Transaction)
Then in the Transaction field give: START_REPORT
    Skip initial screen
    Screen 0
In the default value for the parameters give
    D_SREPOVARI-REPORTTYPE RW
    D_SREPOVARI-REPORT ( Give your Report Group )
If you have any doubt pick any report painter tcode and check in SE93
    Follow below steps
    1) Execute report through report painter
    2) From system status get the program name
3 ) go to se93 and select report transaction and assign
    program name .
Is it possible to make bigger the text a I have on a text field?, Im using the screen painter and I need to put the title bigger (as a requirment).
You can define your text as any length. If you are talking about the font,i am afraid you cannot do that.
No, you can not change the size(font) of the text on the dynpro, you can hightlight it, which changes the color to "blue" to make it stand out. You can change this on the attributes tab when double-clicking on the element in screen painter.
what is the sentence that open a screen painter file
Don´t really understand what you mean with "open a screen painter file".
If you are speaking about showing a form generated with the screen painter,
    Dim oXMLDoc As New MSXML2.DOMDocument
    oXMLDoc.load("Form.xml")
    SBO_Application.LoadBatchActions(oXMLDoc.xml)
    Dim oForm As SAPbouiCOM.Form
    oForm = SBO_Application.Forms.Item("YourFormID")
    oForm.Visible = True

  • In report painter GRR3 1VK  Actual Value picked up from previous year

    Dear Experts,
    In report painter GRR3 > 1VK
    1. Column of Actual Quantity to take in Basic Key Figure from Statistical Quantity
    2. The value is 4 (Actual) and Version is 0
I found that the Actual value appeared are actually taken from the previous fiscal year. I have checked the line items and their document posting date it shown as last fiscal year.
In this case, where should I amend to have the report pick up only actual value of this fiscal year? or Is there any value to maintain for GRR3 to pickup the current fiscal year actual posting?
Thank you very much and Best Regards,
    Anne

    hi..
Goto GRR3 > click on Lib 1VK it will show you all the report in 1VK library > select your report & double click on it
It will display the report format. Then go to Edit at the top. you will find General data selection.click on it you will find available characteristics. Then goto GRR2 for making any change/selection for Fiscal year char
If your report is a standard one you can not change. then copy the report from GRR1 and make the changes.
You can also see the char in GR23 by selecting 1VK lib.
