Report painter:Deletion of multiple report groups

Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement of deleting multiple report groups and reports created through report painter since these are no more used
I checked in options/functions available in SAP, but couldn't find any option for mass deletion of reports groups available
I understand we can use an LSMW to do this for multiple report groups however apart from this is there any function provided by SAP for deleting multiple report groups
Thanks,
Gaurav

Hi Ajay,
Thanks for the suggestion
I also couldn't find anything handy. In my case the time in manually deleting would have taken less than creating an LSMW for such one-off situation so just delete the obsolete report groups manually
Thank you,
Gaurav

  • Report Painter vs FM Drilldown Reports

    Hello Experts:
We are upgrading from Former Budgeting to BCS and are attempting to use the report painter tool for our reports.  I have not used the report painter tool much although it is similar to the FM Drilldown Reporting functionality.  My question is:
With FM Drilldown Reporting, characteristic FM acct asst was available as a row choice and included fund, funds center, and commitment item.  It appears with report painter that each of these is a separate characteristic which creates three lines on the report instead of one.
    Example:
    FM Drilldown Reports
    Fund/Funds Center/Comm Item    $$$
    Report Painter
    Commitment Item  $$$
    Funds Center       $$$$
    Fund                     $$$$$
I know that we could use Fund and/or Funds Center as variations but we want them to appear on a line in the report so that when the report is downloaded, the information appears as in my Drilldown report example.   Is there a way to create a characteristic that includes all three FM assignments?  Or some other method to accomplish this?

    Hi Everyone:
I am still fighting with Report Painter.  I am now trying to figure out how to pull Period in as a column characteristic even though I have it as a characteristic in the General Data Selection.  I'm using Library 4FM for budget reporting.  My end users want to be able to execute the report by period but for certain columns of the report be able to see all periods displayed.  Example:
    Adjusted Budget - All Periods
Commitments - Period from selection screen
Expenses - Period from selection screen
I do not understand the use of the GRCT transaction.  Are there any links that might provide detailed instructions for it's use?
I would appreciate any assistance/guidance you can provide.

    hi,
Report Writer functions can be accessed from within the Report Painter.
The difference lies in the GUI of the report painter.

  • Report Painter - Hide library and report instead of deleting

    Good Afternoon Everyone,
My finance users are pressuring me to clean up the navigation in the GRR3 report painter transaction.  Many of the libraries that are displayed are standard SAP libraries and I'm hesitant to begin deleting standard SAP libraries, reports, and report groups since you can't get those back once deleted.  Is there a possibility to hide libraries/reports that are not being used any longer?  I'm on my own and would like your input about what the best practice is when faced with this scenario.  Thanks in advance for the help.
    Jordan
Edited by: Jordan Simons on Apr 4, 2011 9:06 PM

    Hi,
    I don't know if its possible to suppress/hide libraries/reports.
Create T-codes for the reports the users really need and add the reports to the corresponding area menu in SAP. Thus users don't have a need to use GRR3 anymore, remove the T-code from the authorization concept.
    best regards, Christian

Thanks to all for the help, I solved my problem looking into older topics from the forum.
To all who may have the same problem:
    1 - Go to SE93, create a parameter transaction;
    2 - Report = 'START_REPORT' / skip initial screen = 'X' / Inherit GUI attributes = 'X';
3 - In the parameters table you will type:
         D_SREPOVARI-NOSELSCRN = blank
         D_SREPOVARI-VARIANT = blak
         D_SREPOVARI-REPORT = blank
         D_SREPOVARI-REPORTTYPE = RE
         D_SREPOVARI-EXTDREPORT = KP  01RPSCO_X                       NAME_OF_YOUR_REPORT
4 - Special atention to the last parameter as it is the most important in this transaction, the first part (including spaces) are always the same, the last one is the name of the report you created through the CJE*.

  • How do we track back the ABAP queries/report painter used to custom report?

    Hi Experts,
I only have some ideas about report painter and ABAP query. If a company has a number of different Z reports in production.
    1. How do we identify if it's report painter/writer or ABAP query??
    2. For ABAP query report, suppose that i can identify one. If i am given a Z tcode of that report and identify the program of that report behind it, How do i know what query that program belongs to?? What are the steps i go back in SQ03 to view that query??
    3. For report painter, starting from ztcode of the report, where do i check and track the original painter of that report??
    Please help clarify my doubts..
    Monica

    Hi Monica,
For report painter/writer, you can identified it by go to
Environment --> Technical information when you execute your Z-tcode.
To refer back to the report painter/writer t-code you just need to double click oh the report group that you see by clicking the link above.
    Thanks,
    Victor.

  • Attaching Variable to the Library for Report Painter for Cost center report

    Hi,
I want to attach the Variable - "Cost element group" to the Library for Report Painter for getting Cost center report. The Cost center report should be cost element group wise with actaul, budget and variance. Please let me know the process.

    hi..
I think you have to first define Attribute mis as "V" in Cost element master basic data tab for the elements you want to capture as varible.
Then make a Cost element group / set in KAH1/GS01 and use it in your report.

  • Report Dasiy Chaining - 1 report, combined output of multiple reports

I have a question here. Is there a way to create a report that will combine the output of other BIP reports into one report? In my case, the person who runs out reports want to run every report concerning units from 1 report. Right now the reports consist of 3 individual RTF templates spread over 2 individual reports. I have attempted combining the data templates and rtf templates where each report was in its on section but this is not working very well because I have no way to reset page numbering when the reports flip over from one to the next. I have it set in word to reset at the end of the sections yet instead of 1 through x in report 1 then 1 - y for the pages of the next report I get 1 through (total number of pages). But is there an easier way to combine it?

  • Report painter execution error - KH014  "Report does not exist".

    Hi All,
I customized one report in FSI3 and used SE43 to create a t code for this report. In the development system, report will be executable from this t code.
Transport requests are successfully transported from development to production without any error. But on production when I tried to execute the report, I am getting the error KH014 - "Report does not exist".
While checking in production I found that the report was missing from report tree in FSI3 and as a result the customized report cannot be executed. As per basis guys there was not a issue in request transportation.
Has anyone encountered similar problem? How was it resolved?
    Thanks.
    Prashant

    Hi Mikko,
Thanks for your reply but your solution is not working.
    Hi Stacy,
I can execute the report from t codes like FSI3 & FSI0 in development.
I used SE43 for t code creation. At the time of t code creation there is a option called "Drilldown" under Report type heading, In drilldown option I selected my report from report type 002 (Financial Statement Key Figure) and created the t code. After this I transported both the request to production server.
Please let me know if this is wrong method or there is any other option to transport this report in Production.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Prashant

I have a standard report and it uses a structure to pull the data for the report. I need to create a custom report which uses the same structure, selection screen but a different layout. Could any of u plz advice, if its doable in report painter or just plain abap program?? Also I am interested to know how the report painter stores the actual report?? as ABAP program?? Please help..urgent..

I had made couple of SD reports in report painter 4 year ago .. as far as process is concern you have create library , but it deals with information structure which start with s0* , after defining information structure in library it take to select the fields and display them on your out put . information structure have the statistical data most of the time . As i worked on information structure , so31,32,33 .....
I t creates ABAP program like ABAP query creates in background . if you execute Customer Over due analysis or in Co02 cost analysis report or MC* ( MM stock reports ) those are in report painter .
Hope this'll give you some guide line ...
As far as I know about report painter, It create a report in background..Like when you make ABAP query (SQ01, 02, 03 ) .. It will create a report. You cant modify the report . You have to get OSS id in order to do that. if you're ready do it then you can pass it to Memory and can achieve your goal ...
I think it will give you some hint. I wish I could have authorization to use report painter on my this project so I can help you out practically.
Please see these steps , it`ll help you ...
    http://www.thespot4sap.com/Articles/Code_CostCentreReport.asp
The variation objects are coming from the sets.
For example, when you read the report 'Cost Centers: Actual/Plan/Variance'(T-code : S_ALR_87013611), you can find the characteristic 'Cost Center' is set as a 'set variable'. So the cost center in the report left side are coming from the cost center group that you input.
Does any know if we could use Report Painter across two controlling areas? Any documentation available will be great. Yes. When setting up a report in CCA you can have multiple controlling areas. In the General data selection you will have the option for the CA as a selection.
You can also use standard references objects to construct your own reports: libraries, standard layouts, default columns, and row and column models, all in the standard R/3 System, are available for custom reports.
Report Painter report definition requires several Preparatory Steps, depending on the complexity of the report to be generated.
    1) Create a library and pick your reporting tables.
    2) Create your report
    3) define your set up within the report
    a)General data selections
    b)Colimns
    c) rows
    d) formulas
Standard layouts are maintained in the IMG "Financial Accounting" under "Special Ledger -> Information System -> Maintain standard layout.
Create libraries, which means assigning the
    characteristics
    key figures
    Predefined columns
For each of these categories you need to select the objects to be used in reports of the specific library. You define the sequence of the objects in the selection lists of the Report Painter in field "Position". Frequently used objects should be at the top of the list.

I have created a report through report writer/Painter(GR51). My query here is to link this report to a transaction code. Could you please suggest me how can I acheive this?
Go to SE93 and select the Transaction with Parameters ( Parameter Transaction)
Then in the Transaction field give: START_REPORT
    Skip initial screen
    Screen 0
In the default value for the parameters give
    D_SREPOVARI-REPORTTYPE RW
    D_SREPOVARI-REPORT ( Give your Report Group )
If you have any doubt pick any report painter tcode and check in SE93
    Follow below steps
    1) Execute report through report painter
    2) From system status get the program name
3 ) go to se93 and select report transaction and assign
    program name .
Is it possible to make bigger the text a I have on a text field?, Im using the screen painter and I need to put the title bigger (as a requirment).
You can define your text as any length. If you are talking about the font,i am afraid you cannot do that.
No, you can not change the size(font) of the text on the dynpro, you can hightlight it, which changes the color to "blue" to make it stand out. You can change this on the attributes tab when double-clicking on the element in screen painter.
what is the sentence that open a screen painter file
Don´t really understand what you mean with "open a screen painter file".
If you are speaking about showing a form generated with the screen painter,
    Dim oXMLDoc As New MSXML2.DOMDocument
    oXMLDoc.load("Form.xml")
    SBO_Application.LoadBatchActions(oXMLDoc.xml)
    Dim oForm As SAPbouiCOM.Form
    oForm = SBO_Application.Forms.Item("YourFormID")
    oForm.Visible = True

  • REPORT WRITER AND REPORT PAINTER

    hi santosh,
Where Is Report Painter/Report Writer Used?
Initially, both tools were only available to the FI/CO modules. Later, with the introduction of the Logistics Information System and Flexible Analyses in Release 3.x, the functionality of these tools was further expanded. It still is not widely known that the Report Painter/Writer can be used for reporting against structures other than those delivered in FI and CO (see TechTalk on page 8-4).
A common misconception in the user community is that Report Painter/Report Writer can only be used to report against a single table. However, some reporting structures do report against multiple tables. For example, CCSS (for Cost Center Accounting) refers to tables COSP, COSS and more, depending on the key figure configuration. Similarly, FI-SL (Special Purpose Ledger) reporting structures include summary and line-item tables (the key figure set determines where the data comes from).
To configure other table joins, views may be created joining the necessary tables, and views can be added to the control tables, via Flexible Analyses in LIS. Report Painter/Report Writer can be used in almost any application area in R/3 to report on currencies and quantities.
    Data tables supported
Both Report Painter and Report Writer can be used to report on the following tables and tables types:
< Evaluation structures set up in the Logistics Information System (LIS). These structures normally begin with an “S” or “ZF.” Several different tables and views within the R/3 System can be added as evaluation structures.
Note: You cannot add cluster tables, such as BSEG.
< CCSS is used for Cost Center Accounting (CO-CCA), Internal Orders (CO-OPA), Activity Based Costing (CO-ABC) and for cost element reports in Project Systems (PS).
< GLFUNCT is used for functional area reporting in cost-of-sales accounting.
< GLPCT and GLPCOP are used for Profit Center Accounting (CO-PCA/EC-PCA).
< FILC is used for Legal Consolidations (FI-LC).
< COFIT is used for the Controlling Reconciliation Ledger (CO-CEL).
< ZZ tables are created for the Special Purpose Ledger (FI-SL).
< FIMC is used for consolidations in the Enterprise Controlling module (EC-LC).
< GLT0 is used for Financial Accounting (General Ledger) reports by account, company, and business area (FI-GL).
< KKBC, KKBE, and KKBU are used for the Controlling Product Costing module (CO-Costing).
< New in Release 4.0A: RWCOOM is used for CO-CCA, CO-OPA, and CO-ABC. RWCOOM is used for special standard reports like internal order budget reports, cost center budget reports and cost component reports.
Note: RPPS was used for Project Systems (PS). However, it is obsolete and will no longer be supported in Release 4.0. In Release 3.x there were only two special reports (6P70 and 6P71) using RPPS. These reports cannot be called directly, but via ABAP reports RKOPLAN0 and RKOPLAN1.
How to Access Report Painter/Report Writer?
To access the Report Painter you may use either of the following two methods:
    < Transaction FGRP
< From the SAP main menu, choose Information systems ® Ad hoc reports® Report painter.
Report Writer functions can be accessed from within the Report Painter. To access Report Writer, choose the following menu path from the SAP main menu:
Information systems ® Ad hoc reports® Report painter® Report Writer.
How Is Report Painter/Report Writer Organized?
Report Painter/Report Writer has four main components:
< Sets: Sets are logical groupings of characteristic values. For example, a cash line on a balance sheet is made up of a set of cash accounts or an energy product line on an inventory report is made up of a set of energy products. Variables can also be created which are placeholders for sets, or values within sets.
< Libraries: Libraries control which characteristics and key figures from a table are available for reporting.
< Reports: Reports hold a definition of the rows, columns, and overall data selection. They also include the header and footer texts and layout settings.
< Report Groups: Report groups can contain one or more reports. The report group is what you execute—not the actual report. A report group is generated to create a set of ABAP programs that produce the reports.
How Does Report Painter Differ from Other Reporting Tools?
< With the exception of row titles which have text fields, Report Painter/Report Writer reports display numerical fields only (for example, dollar and quantity fields). This is not a requirement for ABAP Query and typical line item reporting tools, which can display arbitrary text columns.
< While printed Report Painter/Report Writer reports appear much the same way on paper as they do on screen, the Drilldown reporting tool produces a different output format. Drilldown reporting is an online analytical tool which can be used to drill down to different levels of detail, but it is infrequently used for printing.
< Report Painter/Report Writer reports are hierarchical and take advantage of configured hierarchies (for example, with cost center hierarchies). You can also execute Report Painter/Report Writer reports from each level within a hierarchy.
< Report Painter/Report Writer reports can handle multiple currency/quantity units within a single column.
< Report Painter/Report Writer is well suited to handle reports that require mass production. For example, Report Painter/Report Writer is a particularly effective tool for creating month-end reports.
