Report Painter - Download Capabilities

Greetings - Does anyone have any experience in downloading reports in bulk from Report Painter? The scenario is that we want to create a new CO report, Plan vs. Actual by cost center in a different format then SAP standard. We then want to be able to run the report for all cost centers and then have each one downloaded at the same time individually so we can then send them out to each Manager of the individual cost center.
If anyone has any insights to this, that would be great.

Dear Sapmates,
I have created Cost element and Cost centere reports using report painter. Both the reports consists of nine coloumns. I would like to have the report in the excel. I tried the folliwng options :
1. System -> List -> Save -> Local file
2. Settings -> Options -> Microsoft Excel
3. Print and then try to save using the spool request number using SP02.
But neither of the ways worked to download or save the file in the excel format.
Could anybody of you please help me out with this.

After executing the report, select from the top menu:
Report --> Export
In the export to presentation server screen, select spreadsheet as the export format and enter the file location and name in the output file section. Then hit enter or click on the green check mark.
another pop up box will show and this time click on continue.
It will now create the output. check the output location you have entered before for the file.

i would like to create a report with the report painter which can be dowloaded to the application server. i have found under "report header" - "export parameters" - the button "export to application server", however there i am not able to specify the correct path and get the file downloaded.

/TD is appearing in the HTM document when downloaded from Report painter

Hi,
We are facing the below issue when we are downloading the report painter report in HTM format.
When I am downloading a report in HTM format (Web page or Excel) I see some special characters u201C/TD>u201D in the HTM download document. I am able to download this report in other clients and landscapes without any special characters.

Report Painter - Excel Download - Urgent

Dear All,
I have created a Report in Report Painter. How do I add an option for the user to export the file in xls. once it is executed? Where do I do this configuration?

After execution of report from menu - Report -Export you can select the export formate spreed sheet and give Xl file name and select export only
or
from menu -system-list-save-local file-then select spreed sheet
assign points if its useful

Report Painter Report - Leading White Spaces in Cost Element

When calling up a report painter report, e.g. S_ALR_87013613, with cost element characteristic in Office integration/Microsoft Excel as output parameters, the cost element (row item) is indented with white spaces. The number of white spaces seems to be in relation with summation levels (sub-totals) visible in the left panel. For some cost centres that only have limited transactions, such as no posting to salary account group, there are less levels of summation, meaning less leading white space in cost elements. Is there any way to eliminate or have a fixed number of leading white spaces in cost elements?
We export the report to Excel worksheet for further processing. VLOOKUP function is used to read the cost element into another workbook. The inconsistent number of leading white spaces creates a problem for the formulas to work properly.
Any suggestion is appreciated.

There are different ways of downloading the report to excel. One option is
System ==> List ==> save (to local file)
Please try with other options.
If still not working, then the work around would be
You can put ctrl+H (replace all spaces)
Then text to columns

Report Painter vs FM Drilldown Reports

Hello Experts:
We are upgrading from Former Budgeting to BCS and are attempting to use the report painter tool for our reports. I have not used the report painter tool much although it is similar to the FM Drilldown Reporting functionality. My question is:
With FM Drilldown Reporting, characteristic FM acct asst was available as a row choice and included fund, funds center, and commitment item. It appears with report painter that each of these is a separate characteristic which creates three lines on the report instead of one.
Example:
FM Drilldown Reports
Fund/Funds Center/Comm Item    $$$
Report Painter
Commitment Item $$$
Funds Center       $$$$
Fund                     $$$$$
I know that we could use Fund and/or Funds Center as variations but we want them to appear on a line in the report so that when the report is downloaded, the information appears as in my Drilldown report example.   Is there a way to create a characteristic that includes all three FM assignments? Or some other method to accomplish this?

I am still fighting with Report Painter. I am now trying to figure out how to pull Period in as a column characteristic even though I have it as a characteristic in the General Data Selection. I'm using Library 4FM for budget reporting. My end users want to be able to execute the report by period but for certain columns of the report be able to see all periods displayed. Example:
Adjusted Budget - All Periods
Commitments - Period from selection screen
Expenses - Period from selection screen
I do not understand the use of the GRCT transaction. Are there any links that might provide detailed instructions for it's use?
I would appreciate any assistance/guidance you can provide.

Display Profit Center & GL Account in 2 Seperate Columns in Report Painter Report

I am building a Report Painter Report for Inventory Balances. As psrt of my requirement I have to display GL Account & Profit Center ina different Column & their Balances for each month on this Current Fiscal Period. As/of now I am only able to have both GL Account & Profit Center in the Same Lead Column? And it is perfect if I look on the Report but when I download all the GL Account & Profit Center are not seperated with Color, so it becomes confusing. I need to have execlty the Report as Same Format S_PL0_86000030.
How can this be achievable? Thanks for your valuable input?

the account is probably in account group or set. Look for that one in report painter and then go to the set or account group and remove/add the account.

Report Painter Spool

Hi,
We are facing problem with Report Painter program. we developed one report in report painter program in CO. we are taking the report painter date into customised program and we are doing some calculations. From KE30 Transcation we can execute the report painter program. We are doing the BDC for that transaction, storing the final data into flat file and downloading that file into our customised program. But for KE30 Transaction dependency is there.
whenever we are executing that transction for the first time we have to enter some details. To remove that Dependecy we are trying with spool. When we execute the report painter program through SE38 output is going to spool. In spool the page width for that program is 85. We want it upto 100 characters width. We changed settings in spool but we are not getting the solution. Is there any other way to increase the spool width for report painter program? is Page width for report painter program fixed?
Please help me in this regard?

1.The page width is set with KE30 -> report -> print setup ->
drill down + detail -> maintain header -> edit -> page width
This will be saved with the report structure.
2. Variants and variant groups let you execute and save or print reports
in the background at pre-specified times.

The difference lies in the GUI of the report painter.

Report Painter - Transfer of report data to Z-program

Hello,
I have created a report painter report for P&L / Balance Sheet. I want to download the output, but in a specific format.   Is there any customizing option or a user exit or function module which can transfer the output value to a new z-program which can reformat and download the output in new format. I tried report/report interface option. But this does not work.
I read SAP help documentation on SAP queries wherein it is possible to pass the query data to another external program for further processing.    Is it possible in Report painter / drilldown report ?

Hi Alexander,
I have solved my problem. To send report to Solution Manager, you have to run few jobs in SDCCN of Satellite system. Procedure is as follows:
Create Refresh Sessions Destinations job and set its destination as RFC back destination to solution Manager and run this job daily. By default, it will be periodically scheduled to weekly. Change its schedule in Tcode SM37.
Upon Completion of above job, create Refresh Sessions job and run it manually.
Upon Completion of above job, create Maintenance Package job and run it manually.
In all of the above jobs, you will find set or have to set destination as RFC back destination to Solution Manager.
Hope this will solve your problem.

Report Painter copy screen to excel 2007

Hi
starting point: Report Painter.
we want to copy an area of a screen mask in excel 2007(Strg C Strg V).
The copy is not complete. column are different, grouping does not exist.
In Excel 2000 i had no problem with this.
Can anyone help me?

As explained by Andrew, you can please download the report painter report to excel. Then, you can do the manipulation you want in excel.
