Report painter - eliminate zero columns/rows

Dear Experts,
Can anyone tell me how to hide (or) remove the columns and rows contains zero values, in a report which is developed by report painter.

Hi
It is available to control the display treatment for column/row item with zero amount by Standard Layout.
1. From report
If you change this behavior online during checking report such as cost center report: S_ALR_87013611, go to menu -> Settings -> Report Layout.
You can hide/unhide the column/rows with zero value in Tab Rows and Columns.
2. Default setting for report execution
As described above, this setting comes from Standard Layout.
You can change it by transaction code GR12.

Report Painter - Period Zero Balance Sheet Account

Dear SAP Experts,
I'm trying to create a balance sheet using report painter and understand from the forum users that we have to use Period "Zero" to run the report.
However, the report that I generated from SAP shows the yearly movements not the accumulated balance.
I'm not sure what possibly went wrong and would appreciate if anyone could please advise on how should I troubleshoot / fix it?

Report execution error with columns,rows truncating

One of abaper executing report in background and he selected Output device:LOCL and format type:X_65_512/2 but some columns are truncating with that properties.to overcome this can i create new page format or format type? how can i assign page format to device type and device type to output device?

Report painter - customer balance not accurate

Hi Expert,
I am using report painter to create a cusomter balance by months for user. I realised that some customers the balance print from this report not tally to debtor ledger balance but some are tallied perfectly. Anybody know the reason?
In report painter I on the row field I chose CUSTOMER on column name with SET or Hierarchy note on, variable on, General data selection Ledger = F2, Record Type = 0, Version = 1.

Check the SET' used in that - Check any other selections filtering some of the line items (may be the cost centers, profit centers, etc.,) - Take one customer showing inaccurate figures and check all line items, try to identify the difference where exactly.

(Report Painter) Display differnet language in one report.

i want to know can (Report Painter) display differnet language in one report depends on different user login.
like user with chinese lang login can display chinese in the report
and
user with english lang login can display english in the report?

may be my poor english make u guys misunderstand my question.
actually i am talking the first Top row (which is lead column/ descrption column)
and first Left column in a report painter.

currently i am using "change text" to type in description(english) by manual(), and the problem comes out when i login with other lang, say chinese lang for example, the column and row didn't display any text on it(all blank) after different lang login.
so just wonder is there any way to have a auto translation when different lang login.

Report painter: Carry Forward (KSLVT not available)

Hi,
I am building a report based on table GLPCT (using report painter), in a column I need to have the carry forward and the records of the current year . Aim is to have, for a group of accounts, the total from the begining in SAP to today: Carry forward (KSLVT from previous year) + Janvier (KLS01) to KSL03 or KSL05 (depending of parameters filled in selection screen).
I don't know how to select or add the carry forward (field KSLVT).

thanks for your answer. For Library 8A2 in GR22, there is no dedicated fiedl for carry forward (KSLVT) in key figures, but there is:
- KSL-GES_JAHR (Total year)
- STOCK_ACT (Closing bal. in PrCtr-Currency)
- IST_KONZW_KUM (Cumulated actual)
I think that could help me. I will check and keep you update.
An other think is we did a profit center reorganisation (hierarchy modification), in March, and we did delete entries in GLPCA (but we did not do anything within GLPCT, tha's were balances are stored).
And it seems transaction 2KES has not been re-run after the reoarganisation, I have those points to check also.

Report Painter - What is value type 10 Statistical Plan

One of my customers is running report 6o00-001 Orders: Actual / Plan / Variance. This report is displaying a plan value when, they say, no plan value has been entered. I have checked normal planning and this is correct - there is no plan value. However, when I check the report painter definition, the column in question will display value type 1 (Plan) and value type 10 (Statistical Plan).
Can anyone tell me:
- what is a statistical plan on an order?
- how can I remove the statistical plan value?

But checking the correction constructions the code do reference to the operation RKP5 and the posting are being recording with operation RKP1.
I'm checking for a similar note but with this operation but I can't find it.

Issue with row/column text lengths in report painter

Hi Gurus,
I have created a report painter report with formatting of the row/column length text as medium, but for one FS item/GL Account the report when executed still picks up only the short text length. I am not sure how this can be resolved.
Any ideas is appreciated.

Report painter:display of G/L with zero amount

Hi,
I have created a report in report painter for expenses by profit center. however the system is not showing the G/L for which no posting has been made although i have maintained those G/Ls in the report. Is there any way to display G/L with zero values also?
I am running the report at fiscal year level.

Hi, you can try to go the report painter (GRR2)
Formatting - section layout - Columns make sure the suppress zero columns is unchecked
and also you can go to Formatting - section layout - Columns - Treatment of zero rows - Print Zero Rows

Report painter issue regarding break up of gl accounts for rows

I am facing a problem while designing report for balance sheet in report painter. while selecting report format option in formatting option in menu bar system is displaying even zero value rows also. but the problem is for rows which have n number of accounts , it is not showing break up. it is displaying in a single row as a range and its total .
If i go for " print row option" in formatiing in menu bar, then system is not displaying rows with zero balance in accounts . but i am able to get break up over there.
I need both 0 balance rows to be displayed in output as well i need breakup for remaining rows also.
plz suggets me .

Hi vijay kumar,
You need to explode the charactor of Account Number for the item you want to "show break up".
In tc: GR32, double click the item you want to "show break up", system popups the screen for changing charactors values, scroll the horizontal scroll bar to right, you will see the column Explode, change the default value "No explode" to "Explode" for the charactor Account Number and save the report. Then you will see the accounts when you run the report again.

Dynamic Rows in Report Painter

See I have the below Rows
Total Revenue
Cost2
Cost3
Direct Cost
Gross = Total revenue - Direct Cost
Gross % = (Gross/Total revenue ) * 100
I have Columns as with basic Key figures and Formulas
Year(basic key Figure)
Year+1(basic key Figure)
Total = Year + (Year+1)
Its giving me correct values in case of Basic Key figures and not in the formula case.
It giving error when there is formula both in Row and Column.
In the above case last row and last colum. Only Column formula is getting implemented.
Here for example I have mentioned 4 rows and 4 columns.. But I have 15 Rows and 30 columns .. out of which 15 rows and columns have formulas...
% Rows are problem.. which gives me errors... I tried using Special cells, but I am not 100% sure how to use them.
I would be very thankful if you can help me out.. Please

Report Painter Column Header to display on continuing page

I've report painter issue. When out of a report is printed, and when it is longer than one page..... the column header description is not getting displayed on second page.
how can i show column header description on subsequent pages?

I have the same issue. I have also de-selected the 'Allow row to break across pages' for the whole table but still the table breaks and continues on the next page.
I see that the question has been answers correct but no solution provided. I would appreciate if you could post the solution.

Report Painter - Display two characteristics on one line in lead column

I have a requirement to produce a Report Painter report to display values by Cost Centre and Cost Element.
The requesting user wants to see the Cost Centre AND Cost Element keys displayed on each row of the report, to allow for manipulation in Excel.
I have no problem grouping Cost Element within Cost Centre or vice-versa, but am not aware of any way of displaying both key values on each row in the lead column (or anywhere else).
Has anybody done this?

the request is not unusual. However, report painter does not allow for two key columns or a key column combining two characteristics. You might consider using SAP Query (with table COEP or COSS/COSP for aggregates) if you do not want to resort to developing the report in ABAP.

Hi HIren,
There can be only one lead column in report painter.
However within the one lead column you can identify more than one characteristic - e.g. cost center and cost element. You can then identify that both characteristics should be exploded.
If you go Edit > Rows > Explode, you have the opportunity of identifying which characteristic takes presidence over the other, and how they expand. So in this example, Cost center will be 1 and cost element will be 2.
The output will be dependant upon your report layout, but you should have the layout so that you have:
Cost Center A:
- Cost Element A
- Cost Element B:
- Cost Element C:
Cost Center B:
- Cost Element A:
- Cost Element B:
- Cost Element C:
And to distinguish the cost centers from the cost elements, you can format the cost center row "Color for Totals"
