Report painter header text with customize variable

Hi All,
Can we have a customize variable/ logic based on the selection parameter in the header text(not in the report's columns) in report painter? understand the standard sap provides a few standard options, gen, variables, sel. parameters, spec. variables and characteristics but non meet the requirement.
Requirement:
get the selection parameter fiscal year variable, display the value with a logic where if the posting period = 9 the fiscal year +1

Can i concatenate or add to the existing header text with new text logic

Hi,
Is it possible to concatenate additional text into an existing text type? For example, would it be possible to write new logic where if certain conditions are met, the text in theheader detailswould be added to the existing Preparation Header text?
I have on e delivery , i want to add the header text with with date field (concatenate header text with date (godds issue date)in a single text
please let me know.

Unfortunately I am not aware of any such standard FM, I searched for it during my first reply itself, but no benefit.
You can develop one if no std FM is available for this with the help of your technical g uy.

Report Painter - adding columns with any texts.....

Whether probably in Report Painter to create additional columns (adhered to columns of data) and to write there manually demanded texts for lines ?

Hello - I don't see Insert Diving Line after I click Insert Blank Line.
Where is that?
If I insert a blank line and then double click on the blank line to add a line like the following: "__________" for sub totals, etc, I can't. I can only add another characteristic or formula in the blank line.

Report painter- problem in creating formula variable- ps

i have copied report 6P3 - 6PP1-001 Act/Com/Total/Plan from library in report painter.
our requirement is we want two user fields from cj20n in this report. they are prps-usr04
and prps-usr05.
i have added these in header as special text variable as they were ALREADY available at header under
MASTER DATA FOR PROJECTS / WBS ELEMENT IN REPORT-WRITER.
now my requirement is to add new columns. for that i required these two fields in formula.
but as they are not present in formula component i am not able to get it.
what should i do to enter these fields in component list in formula?

ActRunningBal is a running total calculated in crystal or database field? If it is a database field then you can try this
if {command.CR-Amount} <>0 then
{command.CR-Amount}
else
previuous()+previous({command.Dr-Amount})
If it is a running total you cannot apply previous function on it.

COPA report change Header text

Hi,
I am preparing COPA line item report. I am not able to change or add header text in the report as we do in report painter report.
The form I am using is KE94 Create and KE95 Chage.The report painter option extras-> Report Text -> header text is not available in KE95 forms.
Any Idea on how to do the changes in header text in this case.

Report Painter/ Writer - Query on customization changes

Hi All,
I had this query on report painter.
A couple of GL accounts are created newly.Now, the same are to be included as line items in existing 'Zee' report under Report Painter functionality. I went to GR32 > input selection for existing rpt >> took me to GR02. I made the changes in development client.
My dilemma is, how do I populate this report change upto Production system ? - by a transport or export/imp functionality.
Also, if request is generated through GR32(toolbar) what will it generate customization or workbench ?
I have read Wiki and tried to execute GR37, but not confident about the same.
Appreciate if you could share you inputs.

Thanks for your reply. But, if we have to move the changes to INT, Pre- Production and Production clients, then is
T-Code GCTR a better option so that the transport is generated and it will overwrite the report in the Production client with this change.
Also, if the transport is generated will it be customization or workbench as raised earlier ?
I do not intend to delete any report from the systems.

Get Header Text with special characters

Dear Experts,
I have written a program using READ_TEXT FM to get header text from Delivery.
However, one of the fields has a value "K&N".
When I get the header text, it shows "K<(>%<)>N".
How can I get back the normal text? Or do I need to replace the strings manually?
It is stupid.

Report Painter Library: troubles with new field in the additional structure

Hi, ALL!
I'm creating a new field in the Report Painter table GLFUNCT. Do do it I created my field in the additional structure GLDBZ for GLFUNCT and create an row in the T804C table for new field.
Who has expirience in customizing using T804* tables? What tables should be used and how? I have the following troubles:
- I do not see the new field as characteristic in the library - I don't know the customizing table to set fields from additional structure as characteristic
- in the generated Report Painter program my new field exists but call of filler routine is always disabled

Report Painter Long Text Display and fiscal year

Hi Gurus'
Could you pls let me know, how do I get Long text in the report. Usually we get medium text.
And in the selection screen if i have like:
Company code
Fiscal year
Period
How do I get the text along with the Fiscal year.
Like Revenue 2008

Hi,
For displaying long text in rows or column,
go to menu bar>Formatting>Rows/column texts. Under this tab, you can select shot, medium, long as required for both rows and columns.
Further, to display fiscal year along with text in column, you must have asisgned variable for fiscal year in column. Go to text of the column and mention &variable of fiscal year assigned for the column after the text.

Changing report painter header

Dear all,
I have developed report for balance sheet. Report execution screen fields are Period and fiscal year.
eg. If I give Period 11 FY = 2008
The header it is displaying is balance sheet for the period 11 year 2008
But My client wants to display " The Balance sheet for February 2009."
How do I get this? Can any body help me as i am in urgency

Hi,
For this Report has been created based on some Form. Choose that form by double clicking it.
Place the cursor in the text "balance sheet = " that you have already given. Click Edit in the
tool bar > Click Element > Click Change Text. Enter the Text you want short, medium & long.
Finally save the form.

BI Publisher -RTF Template issue: Output report not maintaining text with bullets and numberings.

Hi All,
I am currently working with generating reports using BI Publisher. My issue is that when I will preview the output(in PDF and RTF) format's of the newly created template, then, if the data coming from DB have some bullets or numbering, then the BI publisher output will ignore the same and will show the complete data as one single line.
For example if the data in the DB Field is like below:
The XYZ has the below sub-parts:
ABC : This again has two parts:
abc1
abc2
CDE
FGH
Then this data will appear as below in the BI Publisher output report's:
The XYZ has the below sub-parts: • ABC : This again has two parts: o abc1 o abc2 • CDE • FGH
I want the format of the data (with bullets and number's) should be maintained in the BI Publisher Report as well, but I am unable to find any solution for the same.
Any help on the same is much appreciated.

in your query will u get all the columns always null when column1 is null
in your template for each group u can write like below
think G_1 as group in your xml
<?for-each:G_1[COLUMN1!='']?><?COLUMN1?><?COMMENTS?><?end for each?>
or if u are not sure u get null in both places every time u can write like below
<?for-each:G_1[COLUMN1!='' and COMMENTS!='']?><?COLUMN1?><?COMMENTS?><?end for each?>

Populate header text with reference number and vendor name

Hi Experts,
My client wants to populate the line item text field - SGTXT in MIRO / FB60 with the reference number field XBLNR and the vendor name.
Is it possible to do it before the invoice get posted?. Like, just after the user entered the vendor account number and the reference number in FB60 system picks the vendor name against the vendor number from LFA1 table and the reference number entered in FB60 screen and populates them in text field ?
Similarly in MIRO - before the invoice get posted is it possible to pick the reference number from MIRO screen and pick the vendor name based on the PO number entered on the MIRO screen.
Please advise how to do this.

This can be achieved by using a User Exit in Substitution rule. This is done through GGB1. Define the rule
Prerequisite
(System T Code =FB01 or MIRO) and Account Type = K
Substitution

Report Painter - ERP Financials - Question on Value Variable useage

I want to use a value variable that works in Report Writer (table GLPCT, field MSL [quantity] but cannot select MSL as a variable field in Report Painter to insert the same variable (it is not a selectable characteristic) using the same Library and Table.
Is there a way to make the field selectable in Report Painter in order to select a value variable that uses the field MSL ? It is a valid field in the Library that I am building the report in.
In building the columns, I can select characteristic fields such as:
Ledger
Record Type
Version
Fiscal Year
Profit Center
Functional Area
Account number
Period
etc
but not MSL Quantity. Is there configuration to make this (or any field) accessible to Report Painter ?
Any advice is welcome.....

Quantity is a key figure. When you create the column values you would get this from the key figure drop list.
