Report painter: include new Field

Hi Experts,
I would like to create a new report painter based on table GLPCT data.
But, I would like to include this field CCSS/KSTAR in this report. I have create a new variable ZKSTAR for this.This variable is not included in table GLPCT.
I don't know how to include this variable in my report.
Please help,

Hi,
KSTAR is cot element, which is not a part of PCA document, stored in GLPCT as totals. You should use RACCT (account) field for this purpose.

Generate Data selection in Report Painter using Z fields

Hi all,
I had created Customer specific fields in project definition and now i want to use them in PS reporting.
I did what note 929889 say to do that, i created structure CI_CC1S and included my Z fileds. Then i entered GRCT and create a new entry: CCSS in field table and in Field name ZZDEPARTAMENTO.
I went to GR22 and modify 6P3 library to check this new characteristics.
In report writer i created the variable with a set , execute report and may new field appears in selection screen, the problem is that the program SAFK21R doesn't consider my new field in the selection so the display is wrong... what is missing? CAn any one help with this issue?
I think it's because structure CCR1S is empty in the Z fields.... what i need to create to report recognize z field as selection options.

hi poonam,
u can add the field by selecting one of the radio buttons. i.e.,
keyfigure with characteristics.
predefined key figure

Then u select the field which u want to add and provide options as per ur requirement right..
i dont know why r u getting dump...

The server uses Crystal Reports Embedded Server 2008 SP3 (running on Windows Server 2008 R2 / IIS 7.5), and I am using Crystal Reports Developer 2008 SP3 on my PC.

I am a MSSQL database administrator with little experience with Crystal Reports. At my job, we have a need to add a couple of fields to a report. The report comes with an enterprise procurement web-based application and displays the details of a given purchase order. They want me to add the supplieru2019s address below the supplieru2019s name on the report. I was hoping there might be a fairly straight-forward, not overly complicated answer to my question.
The report works with a stored procedure (OrderForm1) which creates a temp table called #ReportParameters. It then executes another stored procedure (GetReportParameters), in which it uses 'sp_xml_preparedocument' and eventually 'sp_xml_removedocument'. It then executes a stored procedure called (OrderForm1Main) which contains the select statement that brings in the bulk of the fields and joining the pertinent tables. I made a backup copy of OrderForm1Main and modified the original, to include the supplier address fields.
Don't know if I'm on the right track, but hereu2019s what I tried so far:
When I open the OrderForm1.rpt in Crystal Designer, I have found that I can go to Database > Set Datasource Location, create a connection (OLE DB (ADO)) to the database, highlight the name of the stored procedure under u2018Current Data Sourceu2019, then find the same stored procedure in the database in the section u2018Replace withu2019:

When I clicked the u2018Updateu2019 button, a u2018Enter Valuesu2019 for parameters window pops up:

Iu2019m confused as to what to do at this part. Whether I click u2018OKu2019 or u2018Cancelu2019, it then adds my database connection with stored procedure to the list in the u2018Current Data Sourceu2019 section:

After completing this data source change, in the Field Explorer under Database Fields > OrderForm1, it then includes the new fields I added to the stored procedure. However, when dragging the new supplier address fields to the report layout, saving the report in this state, and trying to run it in the web application, the report window displays the message u2018Missing parameter valuesu2019 instead of the report:

In Field Explorer > Database Fields > Parameters, Iu2019m seeing a list of parameters that arenu2019t the exact ones in the stored procedure, which leads me to believe, they are somehow defined in the report itself. Also, under u2018Parameter Fieldsu2019 in the Fields Explorer there is the @fParameters listing with a question mark icon, that appeared since the data source change:

There does not seem to be an equivalent set of parameters in the database, as there were defined in the report. I imagine that the actual parameter values come from the data held in the currently displayed purchase order (from which you can push a button 'Print PO' that will display the report in question). I have read that when you change a data source in Crystal, you have to complete the task of resetting, or adding back in the parameters. That would be easy if they were in the database somewhere. Whenever I attempt to look at the properties of the u2018ReportInformationu2019 in u2018Set Datasource Locationu2019, or simply try Database > 'Verify Database' to refresh the datasource, an u2018ADO.NET (XML) windows pops up with a file path in it, something to the effect of:

I did a search on the entire server for the file OrderForm1.XML and could not find it anywhere. So Iu2019m thinking that the software companyu2019s development team used that file originally, to create the report (did they use a dataset to do this, or is the temporary XML file created during the process actually the schema here?). I think Iu2019m basically trying to change the data source in the report, to an updated version of the original stored procedure referenced, while still somehow leaving the parameters list in the report alone and have them still work?
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I realize that this type of work most likely is routine stuff that can be learned by taking the time to do so. My team is only interested in allowing me a certain amount of time and resources to delve into Crystal and we do not have a Crystal dev team. So, hopefully you understand my dilemma here.

Hi Mike,
CRSE is an OEM Product and for use with a custom application they have written. Unfortunately we don't their reports or how they are connecting, it would appear they were originally built off a SQL and then set to a Dataset in the app or they could be adding the data source at runtime. Lots of variations and without access to the source code to see what they are doing not much we can help you with.
You need to contact the OEM Partner for help in resolving this and find out what you can and need to do to update your SP and work with their canned reports,

Report Painter for New GL

Dear experts,
I need to create a custom report with ReportPainter with the data you see with t.FAGLB03.
Since there are no standard reports for New GL, to copy and modify, i created a library by copying the library 0FL (Table FAGLFLEXT) and i stopped after :(. For example, "Lead column" must be a hierarchy of profit centers. In the "Element definition" i added "Name" - "Profit Center" and chose "Characteristic is Interpreted as Set / Hierarchy," and "Characteristic is Interpreted as variable. In the list of "Value of variable" for the "From" there is no variable that refers to the table FAGLFLEXT, PRCTR field.
What should I do? I create all the necessary variables with T.GS11, or is there an easier way? Can I use something existing?
Please, can you give me an explanation step-by-step what I should do. Any advice is welcome!

As stated you can create your own reports using the standard SAP library 0FL
you do not need to create a custom library.
One tip I have is that If you are creating reports with the Profit Center scenario active then
you can still use transaction code KE5B to copy your Financial Statement Version (FSV) groups to EC-PCA.
Even though your reporting source will NOT be EC-PCA in the New G/L, this method can still be
used as a short cut to create account groups that can be referenced as sets in Report Painter.
I used this method in the lead column for "Account Number" to easily generate a FSV style report
in report painter in the New G/L with the profit center scenario activated.

How to include new fields in PRICAT

Hi,
My aim is to import a new field to the PRICAT price catalogue, and be able to
maintain this field in transaction W_PRICAT_MAINTAIN.
I have entered the new field in table PRICAT_K003 (using an append structure),
and have used the Badi implementation WRF_PRICAT_DIALOG to include the new field in the ALV report definition for transaction W_PRICAT_MAINTAIN. For this purpose I also included the field in structure WRF_PRICAT_K003_STY.
However, when trying to make the necessary changes to copy the field content from PRICAT_K003 to the new screen field, I encounter a few problems.
For this I have created a new Badi implementation for Badi definition
WRF_PRICAT_POOL, method IF_EX_WRF_PRICAT_POOL~EXTEND_ARTICLE_MASTER.
This method uses parameter io_inbound_item (type ref to CL_INBOUND_ITEM). The field doesn't seem to be visible in any of the available structures in this method. I have attempted to include the new field in some of the other structures (in addtion to WRF_PRICAT_K003_STY), but have been told by the system not to do this.
Any suggestions on how to solve this problem?
If there is anybody out there who have a description on how to import new fields
into PRICAT and further on to the article master, I would very much appreciate if you could pass it on to me.

I have a similar problem with inbound pricat. I extended PRICAT_K003 with a few custom fields. These fields are filled using a BAPI table extension and implementing IF_EX_PRICAT_IN_EXTIN. The fields show up correctly in W_PRICAT_MAINTAIN and are also filled when I look in the database table. But when I create an article master from an entry in the pricate catalogue, all custom fields are cleared. I wanted to use IF_EX_WRF_BADIPRE_POST_MAT~PRICAT_PRE_POSTING_PROCESS to transfer the custom fields to MARA, but the incoming structures of the method only include blank custom fields.
So I found IF_EX_WRF_PRICAT_POOL, but it's methods include only structures which are not extendable. So I don't see how I can preserve the data in my custom fields.
Per Erik, have you found a solution for your problem?
Is there anybody else out there who knows how to transfer custom fields from the price catalogue to material master data?

Here are general instructions for adding new fields to the dynamic selection:
1) Call Transaction SE36
2) Enter logical database DDF, KDF or SDF (for FBL5N, FBL1N, FLB3N)
3) Menu -> Extras -> selection views
4) Here you can find 2 origins of the view (SAP and CUS).
   The standard view SAP is used. Create your own using view CUS. First copy the view SAP.
   On the left side are the functional groups.
   01 Customer master => fields from table KNA1
   02 Company code     => fields from table KNB1
   03 Documents        => fields from table BSID
Only those fields from these tables can be used for dynamic selection
5) To get another field from e.g. table KNB1 for the dynamic    selection double click on the right side on
    table KNB1. The field in the lower area will be changed. Search for the desired field and enter a 03
    in front of the field. Save.
6) Test in your report.
Note: Not every table and field can be used as dynamic selection. It is also necessary that the report
           allows selection for that field."
Furthermore I suggest You to have a look at the note number 310886 that can be useful.

Permitted tables:
KNA1, KNB1: All fields are permitted that are contained in the VF_DEBI view. If necessary, you have to
                     include additional fields in the view fields category using Transaction SE11.

Hi,
I have not worked on it but you can try this out:
TCODE for report writer table is GRCT.
There You need to add your z fields in some pre-defined structure like CCSS and then activate the structure and then activate characteristics.
NOTE: 24 charcter is max. length for the characteristics.

PO Release Strategy, include new field.

Thanks for your reply. My requirement is to exclude a material group from PO release strategy.
If I include the characteristic related to material group in PO rlease class, and subsequently change the PO release startegy below is the problem.
Suppose PO contains one item or multiple with same material group, then only it is picking release strategy ( let us say all materials belong to mat group: 101)
If PO contains multiple items with different mat groups ( for e.g: 101, 102 & 103 ), then it is not picking up the Release strategy.
classification data is perfect and release strategy is ok for all material groups ( if PO contains only one material group)
I have checked in the program : MM06EF0S_STRATEGIE_CEKKO , the logic written in the program is such a way that, if two values exist for a doc field, then blank is passed to CEEKO structure.
I will try with user exit, and please let me know if you have any other idea.

You can use the abap includes:
RPCEDDZ9 Data definitions
RPCEDSZ9 Abap code to fill new fields
to add the new fields. You firts add the fields definitios in tables:
V_T514K -> Table
V_T514N ->Field
V_T514N_A ->Field
o via transacction PE51_CHECKTAB. You define the data structure in the include RPCEDDZ9 with the same name, and the coding in RPCEDSZ9.

How to include new fields for output conditions
