Report painter,  Internal orders and profit center accounting

hi,
I want to do a report using data from internals orders (AUFNR) and profit center accounting (PRCTR).
I can make individual reports for internals orders (6O1, CCSS) and for profit center accounting (8a2, GPLCA) but I can't combinate data from internals orders and profit center accounting.
Is it possible make a report using report painter that show data of internals orders and profit center accounting.
All my internals orders have a profit center accounting.

    There is no standard report to see both the sale order reference and profit center.  However, if you go to SE16 and use table VBAP, you can see the required details

  • Origin Object Type for Plant Maintenance Orders in Profit Center Accounting

    Hi,
    I want to make a selection for plant maintenance orders in transaction KE5Z, report for line items in Profit Center Accounting. When checking possible input options for the selection field <b></b>Origing Object Type<b></b> the system shows value 15 for Maintenance Orders. However I discovered in our system the maintenance orders are reported as Origing Object Type 03, which is Overhead Orders according to the selection list. So I cannot distinguish between overhead orders and maintenance orders in this report.
    What is the cause our maintenance orders are assigned to Origin Object Type 03 in stead of 15 and what is the customizing transaction to correct this ?

    Looks like, this is no longer supported. Refer to note 168004 and  102434.
    Cause and prerequisites
    These functions were not programmed to meet the above requirements.
    As of Release 4.0, the object type is transferred directly.
    Solution
    Once you have implemented the advance correction. the origin object type 'Overhead cost order' (03) is assigned irrespective of what is the SCOPE for orders.
    As a result of implementing this note or as of Release 4.6B, the order category distinguishes between overhead cost orders and production orders in the origin object type. In this case, the following origin object types result (as described above in 1.):
    Order category 04 to 10, 40 => 04 (production order)
    All other order categories => 03 (overhead cost order)
    The logic that the origin object type was set depending on the object class (as described above in 2.) is no longer supported. The object class can be evaluated separately in Reporting. -
    The corrections of this note refer in Release 4.0B to the corrections from Note 102434.

    hi guys
    can anyone please explain me why do we have cost centers and internal orders?
    If we can track cost to cost center then why do we need internal orders?
    please give some detailed explanation.

    when you are posting a document and if the g/l is created as a cost element then
    you have to either assign a cost center, profit center, internal order etc
    so when you are posting an expense and if its for that project you assign the
    internal order and when the project is finished you can settle it to a cost center.
    If we can assign both internal order and cost center i dont think so but not very
    sure. Best way to learn these things i would recommend is try it in test system
    that way you will understand better about the whole flow and it will stick in your
    mind.

    Can any body explain about difference between business area and profit center accounting .

    Business area will have many profit centers. For example Vehicle is a business area in a company. Vehicle can be cars and Bikes etc. Here Vehicle is business area and Cars and Bike are profit centers. In broad Vehicle is a profit center. But as it has sub areas those are profit centers. So profit centers cannot be replaced with business area and vice versa. We can replace business area by Profit centre, only condition is that it should be in same controlling area. The business area is more like a business unit of a company. You can have multiple profit centers within a business area.
    Main distinguish factor is that distribution and assessment in possible in profit center but not in business area.
    One more distinction is that Business area need not be attached to any organisation structure. But profit centres can be created only under the controlling area. Business area can be across controlling area.
    Business area concept is used for making stragic decisions by the management whereas the primary purpose of profit centre accounting is responsibility accounting.

    We are Public Sector and using ECC 6.0, we have been using Business Area with Fund Management. We also use Special Purpose Ledger with Document splitting. Before migrating to New GL functionality, we want to understand
    -     The possibility of using both Business Area and Profit Center Accounting, and the impact on the system
    -     If we activate Profit Center Accounting before migration, how will it work with the splitting process?
    -     If we migrate without Profit Center Accounting, will this cause the activation of Profit center accounting later to be more complicated, even if we migrate again?

  • Cost Element and Profit center accounting

    hi to all,
    in my production system,  most of  PL accouts have been created as cost element. but some revenue and COGS accounts have not been created even there existed transaction data.
    now i want to create all PL accounts as cost elements. revenue (category is 11) and COGS(category is 12) accounts link with Logistic, so i am not sure the effluence in the auto posting with Logistics.  if there is any problem?
    by the way, after create all PL accounts as cost element, i want all the transaction data for PL account can flow into profit center accounting because i want to generate profit center PL report.  what shoul i do?  set the profit center field mandatory or set Substitution? or some more reasonable solutions ?

    Hi,
    After creating P/L accounts as cost element when ever you will post to that account it will ask for posting to true CO object it can be a real cost center, real internal order or profitability segment etc.
    If you want all P/L account to post to profit center,  you can  set profit center field mandatory and you can enter profit center  manually.If your CO account assignment  is cost center System can also derive profit center from cost center master data.and OKB9 is more option which u can make use of.

    i am uploading one file into sap and here i am giving GL accounts cost centers and WBS elements.
    once i have done with upload.when i am checking in BSEG its showing one internal order and one default cost center with internal order.
    i can not understand how its finding internal order and default cost cente(which diffetrent from those cost centers i have mentioned in excel).

  • DOC Splitting in New GL and Profit center accounting activation

    Dear All,
    I am in a dilemma regarding the following -
    We are activating doc splitting with profit center and segment as characteristics.
    1) While maintaining Controlling area settings(OKKP) - do we need to activate "Profit Center Accounting" component?
    2) Similarly, in IMG-Controlling - Profit Center Accounting- Basic Settings-Controlling Area Settings-Maintain Controlling Area Settings (0ke5), do we need to maintain any settings?
    I am of the opinion that ,based on the SAP Note - 826357, that we need not activate PC accounting as it is built into New GL Accounting.
    I am also of the opinion, again based on the note, that we can use classic PC accounting, but the note recommends and I quote
    we do not recommend you do this on a long-term basis due to the increased data volume and the increased time and effort required, and in the case of active document splitting, the update response changes.
    But I am not able to come to a conclusion.
    In earlier  implementations, I activated PC accounting in OKK5 in New GL doc split scenario. So keeping that in mind, pl guide me.

  • Internal order's profit center overrides FI document profit center

    Dear all,
    I have a problem in posting FI document. here is the situation.
    1.the company create statistical IO as jobs to see performance by jobs.
    2.when receive money from customer. accountant post FI doc. ref to stat IO and manually judge how much to split revenue to each profit center for each line items.
    3.after press enter in FI doc posting. IO's profit center from IO master is always overrides field profit center in FI doc which accountant enter manually.
    please tell me protect field profit center form the override of IO master

    Alternativey, you need not enter profit center in the statistical internal order. This will allow user to input profit center of his choice at the time of posting. For this you need to change the layout of internal order to make profit center optional in case it is mandatory now.

    we want system show error message if user post to expense account 5****** with cost center and internal order together, i.e.
    we can only post to cost center or internal order, but can't be both, can it be done by co validation? or do we use user exit to do it? which user exit? thanks

    we have a requirement to create the Report painter report where in the Revenue will be By business area and cost of the particular cost center by Cost element.
    i.e revenue by Business area against cost by department.
    It it possible to use report painter to create such report?. when i was going through the report painter it does not allow me to pull the cost  by department .

    Hi,
    Business consolidation is for more of consolidation purpose and cost center grouping is more for management reporting purpose for cost control purposes.
    Both the organizational units serve for different purposes. Consolidatied business will not have much meaning unless you go with EC-CS.
    Cost Center Groups are much for control purpose and help in managerial reporting.
    Business Units are part of FI Organizational Structure and Cost Centers are part of CO organizational structures.

    There is a requirement is to post statistical posting to Cost center and IO while real posting to PA. I tested and found that I can have only either of Cost center or IO as statistical receiver. Is this standard behaviour or some error in set up.

    I am not sure how IS-H works.. But for sure, it should allow you to enter 3 stat objects...
    There would be some ABAP trick pertaining to IS-H which I am not aware of...
    I can guide you a bit...  During SD billing, ask abaper to put a break point and manually enter the values for cost center and IO and then post the doc.... One of these 2 will be the outcomes
    a. Either it will get posted or
    b. It will get over written before posting....
    based on the outcome, you will have to decide your next course of action
    Also, if your cost center to IO is one to one mapping (Chances would be rare), you can simply write a substitution which would always prevail
    I am sorry I could not offer you a complete solution.. But, this is what comes to my mind...

I have created a copy of this report and has added select option. But I am unable to find any method to apply authorization check.     0EC_PCA_4 is for balance accounts only and has no debit/credit fields, balance only.
