Report Painter Lib 8A2 selection groups

Hi,
I want to modify a customised report painter report in library 8A2 (EC-PCA), I want to bring one of the field for selection in u2018Selection groupu2019 eg currently I have profit center group and Profit & loss account group and I want to bring in balance sheet account group, I tried thru GRR2 but could not see the Account in the available characteristics to be selected, please let me how to modify the report.

Hi,
I guess you already use the field 'account' in somewhere else in the definition (row or column) , that is the why the field doesn't appear.

Report painter - library : 8A2 - characteristic isn't available

Hi
I'm trying to use characteristic "Record Type - RRCTY " in a report from library 8A2, but this characteristic isn't available to use.
I check the definition for library 8A2 and field "record type" is ready to be used (Indicator: Use characteristic is on ).
why this fiel isn't available to be used ?

Hi,
Please check whether characteristic has been already included in columns or row.
This is a standard characteristics and is always part of reports.
You could check for example report 8a22-001, column definition.

Report Painter - title for selection screen

Hi
I have created a report for PCA within GRR1/2 transactions. When I run the report, at the initial screen where I select the period for example, there is no title on the screen, it just comes up as ": SelectioN". However when the report runs, I actually see the name of the report.
How do I add the name to the selection screen?

I believe, the name of selection screen comes from the name of the Report Group, but I could be wrong...

Hi expert,
1)What report painter -output parameters,Data source,Extract parameter, report mean for and what are the difference?
2)I have create new report painter and transport to Test server using T-code:GCTR and I find that the T-code always point to old report. As I had check the SE93 the D_SREPOVARI-REPORT is point to report group.Why this happen?
3) Does creation of new report or modification of the report always need to select the extraction option so that it will able to display the relected changes? Because, I have done modification on the report but it is not reflected the changes even i save until i have to create the extraction is able to display the report but every time i run the report need to select the extraction with option to choose new extract or old. Kindly advice how to save and create the report painter and save will display reflected result .

I have few querys as below:
1)Do we every time create new report by copying the existing report painter need to select output parameter, data source and extract parameter in order to be able to display the new report?
2)when modify existing report painter and save it do we need to select output parameter, data source and extract parameter in order to be able to display the modify report correctly?
3) What are the different between right click copy the report inreport painter compare with create report painter with copy GRR1?
4) What are the T-code for modify the report group?
5) When I create a new report with the right click copy in GRR1 and modify the report painter column only and everything remain the same just the report name different why when execute the report it always appear in the selection screen with report button which have option button to select the 2 version of report which one is the destination report that I copy from and one is the new report? How to set the report when execute will only display the new report only without need to select the option with just new report only?
6)For transferring reports you can use GR37 (export) and GR38 (import) can be use to transport from one client to another client? What is difference between GR37 compare with GCTR?
7) If I use GR37 and GR38 it is mean no need to create the transport request which as usual we create transport se10?
we can directly import to another client ussing GR38?

Changing header in report painter

Hi All,
I have a requirement to change the header(column). I am using the global variable &5PY(Period/Year) in the characterictics value. So it displays an output like 06.2008. But the client needs this to be displayed as June 2008.
Kindly help me out with this.

In report painter you can select variouselements based on which the data will be pulled. I haven't seen any report painter with two header lines and don't think report painter allows that. But for your requirement I believe you can select the periods in the header line itself.

How to create 2 lines header in Report painter

Hi. I am not good at Report painter. I want to create 2 lines header in Report painter just like SAP std report.
When I create a new form, I only have one line header form but cannot add additional header line.
I am looking at the 0SAPFS10-01 Trans.Fig.- Balances. which has two header lines
                           Debit              Credit            Balance       Accumulated Balanc
Periods                     &1FY               &1FY               &1FY               &1FY
I can create only one header just like
Periods                 Debit              Credit            Balance       Accumulated Balanc
cannot add additional line for
      &1FY               &1FY               &1FY               &1FY
please advise me

Report Painter in FI/CO

While creating a row in report painter,i have selected character and created a row gross sales.Now if i would like to assign a formula how do i do it.

I dont think thats possible. You have to create another row as formula. A formula row have to get a base line. And the baseline should be based on another Characteristic row. But you can choose to hide the Characteristics line if u dont want to show the details just the totals.
But there are other ways to do it like setting the charateristics setting to N- No explode to get a total, you dont have to create a row formula, you can also change the row format to reverse sign +/-

Report painter Sets

Hi friends,
I have a query regarding report painter using single dimension sets.What i need is to create financial report for Mexico and Spain. The financial statement verision or the reporting structure of GL accounts is different in both these FSV's.
So if the user selects a particular financial statement version, say MEX for Mexico in the report painter general data selection the report should display as per MEX structure.
I think its possible to declare single dimension sets FSV1 with basic set as assets,liabilites..and so on as per financial statement version of Mexico.
Similarly another FSV2 as per financial statement version structure of Spain.
But how the system will select the required set based on the FSV selected by the user? Is it possible to give two sets in single report painter row line item?
Hope i am clear, please correct me if i am wrong.

If you create the entirety of the account reporting hierarchy within the single dimension sets, you could be sure that the set is also defined in the reporting row as a hiearchy and variable with one of the sets as a default.
When the user goes to execute the report, or via reporting variants, they can simply replace the default MEX single dimension set with Spain's single dimension set and it will utilize that to drive the hierarchy of the same row.
If for formatting purposes, however, you need to break that out into multiple report rows, then this becomes slightly more challenging. As long as you can at least keep the highest groupings of major accounts, though you can do it even if it means having multiple single dimension sets to default and have for replacement when executing the report (or via the program variant).
This all assumes the use of Report Painter (GR55) for execution and not the FI Financial Statement Version.

Profit center group number on the report painter report.

Hi,
We have a client requirement where we have to develop Profit center by Functional Area report by using report painter report functionality, however we are able to bring profit center group description on to the report as per the requirement, but not able to get profit center group number displayed on the report.
Can anyone please advice me if we can get the Profit center group number displayed on the report in Report painter report. Else let me know if we can get the requirement met by an ABAPER.

Hi.
First of all, through transaction GS01 create a set ID for profit centers.
Give table GLPCT, let the set type be the default (basic set) and give field name RPRCTR. Then define the range of profit centers you want. If you want all the profit centers give * in the "from value field".
Then create a variable through transaction GS11. Give table and field as above, choose variable type set and at the default set field choose the set you created.
Finally, at report painter go to Edit/General Data Selection and select profit center.
Check both flags (for entering sets and variables) and give at the form field the variable you've made.
Now the progit center group will be available in the selection screen with default value the set you've made.

Requirement to add new parameter in selection in report painter report

Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement to add an extra field in Cost center:Act/Plan/Comm CC Cur report.This is otherwise a Z report in report painter with 0% code (T-code : GR55-> Report group->Report).But,when we go to technical information of this report,it has four standard sap programs,which contains code for this selection screen.It does not even have a modification scope.
Selection screen of this report contains following parameters:
Selection values:
Controlling Ar
Fiscal Year
From Period
To Period
Plan Version
Selection Groups:
Cost Center Group
Or value(s)
Cost Element Group
Or value(s)
My requirement is to add one more parameter : Purchase oeder in new block:
Is there any way to achieve it.
Note: Copying the standard progs into custom prog is not working,i already tried that.
Please let me know your suggestions,if any one of you came across such requirement before.it is very impoertant for me.

Hi,
This report (and all generic reports which are based on the same library) looks on CCSS structure. This structure extracts data from totals tables. Therefore, it's not possible to add the parameter of purchase order, as it's a detail line attribute.

In the characteristics you have defined if you double click you can see on top BASIC KEY FIGURE select Group Currency and the same shall happen.

In general data selection, i have already cost center, but it is not apprearing at selection screen. Only three field are appearing (Year + Period + Forecast), and i want to add cost center at the selection screen. How to make cost center field at selection field from General data selection option. Please guide me
