Report Painter - new Basic Key Figure for Currency Translation

Hi,
I need a report painter report which allows to translate the company code currency HSL in GLPCT into several target currencies. Theoretically I need to translate each month with an own translation rate and possible different translation keys.
In table T804B I tried to create a new basic key figure for GLPCT in order to translate the HSL amount with a second TCURR rate. I copied the original basic key figure GLPCT - CC_HSL. I selected structure GLBDZ and fields CCH++ as data source and assigned new variables for the TCURR selection.
The report painter report is setup with three columns : one in HSL, one with CC_HSL and one with the new key figure. In the selection screen of the report painter report I can enter two rates. But after execution the translation of the new basic key figures is done with the same rate as the CC_HSL column is using.
Did anybody encounter an equal problem?

have you created a new calculation routine in form pool SAPFGRWG equivalent to E06_CALC_CURR_CONV_HSL? doesnt this explicitly get the company code currencies

Hi Experts. I am working my reports with library 4FM. I need to create a new basic key figures in order to create a new report with severals currencies, like group currency or transaction currency.

Yes I did. they told me: "availability control only works with local currency. Transactional currencies are not supported in availability control (neither BCS nor Former Budgeting). The developer confirmed the information above. At this moment that thereare no plans to support transactional (non-local or non-FM area) currencies in BCS in a future release. I am really sorry, but I cannot provide you with a more positive answer,anyway, I propose you to refer to note 11. 11 Requested function is not in standard system. Note 11 will guide you to request the suggested changes, this is the correct channel and the chance to provide the requested functionality asstandard. Thank you very much for your understanding! "
I wrote them back and I said "we don´t need availability control in another currency, we only need that SAP add a key figures in FMAVCT table in order to have FM reports with different currencies"
Should I say another thing?

Trade Funds report to update Settled key-figure for rebate scenario

Dear Experts,
We have a scenario where we are triggering rebate creation in ERP from Trade Promotion in CRM.
The rebate accruals are generated over a period of time based on sales orders.
Now we have 3 standard SAP Trade Funds reports which helps us in extracting the accruals data from ERP rebates and updates "Accrual Balance" key-figure of the Fund associated with the Trade Promotion.
Now in ERP once the rebate settlement is created, is there any standard SAP report which will update the "Settled" key-figure in the Fund.
Please advise.
N.B. Our scenario has TPM integrated with Trade Funds & we are using CRM 7.0 EhP1

problem here is that, since i had declared this particular fileld as a integer type key figure, it is not allowing me to enter characteristic values in update formula .
and venkat, how can i change that key figure to char? is that possible? they have specifically told to write as a key figure. and in this model we have only one key figure ( this particular field ).
that infoobject is not available in BW as of now. so i had created it as a key figure as was told by them.

Hi,
1. To check the definition of the CKF you need to go to the query designer.
2. Once into the query desiger switch on the technical names in the query. THis option is available in the Icons displayed on the top of query designer
3. Then right click on the CKF and click display. You will find the necessary details.
4. If you are not able to see the definition of the CKF, then you may need to go in the change mode and then . Try this in development environment.

i did not find any currency translations in URs nor in TRs nor in report KF properties!
where else can be possible?
i guess it is in extract structure? are there any still methods available to define currency translations.
while running the report it is asking for currency variable in the selection screen!
but really no idea what does this variable will have the effect on translation!
any inputs?

Table fields used for basic key figures in report writer/report painter

Does anyone know how I can find which table field is actually being used for SAP defined basic key figures in report writer report? For example, HSL is a basic key figure for income statement, library 0F1, report 0F-GUVV. It only shows data is coming from table GLFUNCT. How does the report writer program knows which fields to select? What is the logic behind the basic key figures?
Any advice is appreciated!!

I have now resolved this issue.
I had to manually update TablesT804B and T804F.
I've added entries to T804A in the past without the need to update T804B or T804F manually so it appears that the way these tables work together has changed following an upgrade or application of support packs.

Basic Key Figure - SWZG - Total cost in target currency

Hi there,
    Just wonder if it is possible to translate from Object currency to Target currency in customized CO report painters if basic key figure SWZG - Total cost in target currency is used. I've tried to maintain Reference currency under reporting currency in RPC0 - User Settings, however it seems the translation is still based on controlling area currency to target currency.
    Is basic key figure SWZG is fixed at translating from controlling area currency to target currency? If so, any other option to allow SAP to translate from Object currency to Target currency in CO reports?

Hi Hari,
These keyfigures are there in the ODS but i cant see in the update rule with 2LIS_03_BX but when i try to create update rule with 2LIS_03_BF it shows me an message that keyfigure is set to no update !
But the same when i do with BX it does not show me the keyfigures in the rule!

How to create Basic Key Figure, Key Figure and Characteristic

Hello Gurus,
I have copied a standard layout of KP06, named it as a Z- layout and made changes to it, like defined the plan data upload field as Object Currency enabled.
However I want to add a Z-Field , tax holiday unit as a column to this layout which I am not being able to do. The reason is when I go to Insert a new element from Edit > Element > Insert Element and click on 'Key figure with Characteristics' I do not get the Z-Field as a key figure.
I want to define the Z-field as a key figure, so that I can add it as an element.
Would be really nice of you if you can let me know the t-code/menu path to do that.

I wanted to share this information with you, hoping this will help you to help me.
I also tried to create a Key Figure in t-code GS32. In the table I mention --> FAGLFLEXR and hit enter. It says no Key figure has been defined for FAGLFLEXR. Then I put the cursor on the 'Reference Entry'and click on copy. Then give the name of the Key Field I want to create.
'Create Key Figure' dialog box appears. When I input the 'Row Text' 'Column Text' and click enter, I am getting an error 'The basic key figure entered for table FAGL is not defined'. I go back and do an F4 on 'Basic Key Figure' field, then I do not get any options.
I would be highly grateful if you can let me know how to create this 'Basic Key Figure' for table FAGLFLEXR.

Report painter is giving wrong figures

After year-end activities my report painter is giving wrong figures for detors, we have implemented special purpose ledger also, is there any year-end activity for SP ledger, or , what could be the reason this report painter is giving wrong figures. for december it is giving correct figures, after Y-End activities it is giving wrong figures

should we do balance carry forward for special purpose ledger also in GVTR, if so in which cases.. my report painter is giving wrong figures for january( after year end activities), but without doing GVTR quality server is giving correct figures ( in QAS also we did year end activities) ... what could be the reason...

Basic Key Figures in Report Painter.

Hello:
Im working with report painter. I already did a report and in every columns I used (HSL-Local currency) as Basic Key figure. But now, I need to add a column and use Basic Key Figure (MSL-Quantity).
If I check in the library (tcode GR22) this Basic Key figure exists, but when I try to create the column I don't have this Basic Key figure as available.
Does anybody know what is missing?

You are right Sue. But unfortunately way back in the 90's when our company implemented SAP, those company codes did not activate the 2nd LC as USD. Thus, these companies only have figures updated in the 1st LC which is USD.
Subsequently, we acquired new companies overseas and then for these co's we switched on the 2nd LC as USD with the 1st LC as the country specific currency.

"new selection", restricted key figure and basic key figure

I have a test report and i have a basic keyfigure "ZRevenue" and "restricted key figure"(its defined over "ZRevenue") and
a "new selection"(its defined over "ZRevenue").
Now that i have "material number" and "material color" and "request id" in the rows. ("Material color" is a navigational attribute of material number).
In the column level i have a basic key figure "ZRevenue" and "restricted key figure"(its defined over "ZRevenue") and
a "new selection"(its defined over "ZRevenue") .
In a "restricted key figure" or "new selection", we can include a basic key figure or new formula or calculated key figure or an already restricted key figure into it, then we restrict it, with one or more characteristic values. In the report output we get KF values only for those characteristic values, with which it has been restricted. Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.
Initially i restricted the "new selection" (with material number 1 to 3) and "restricted key figure" (with material number 1 to 4).
In the cube i have material numbers 1 to 11. Now all the values were displayed from 1 to 11, but for the
"new selection" (with material number 1 to 3) and "restricted key figure" (with material number 1 to 4) i got values only for 1 to 3 and values for 1 to 4 respectively. This is as expected and is working fine.
Now i tried to restrict the basic keyfigure "ZRevenue" with material number 1, the output was only until the material number 4 (this is the greatest value of the material number defined over the "restricted key figure").
Then i tried to restrict the "new selection" (with material number 1 to 9) , then the output was from 1 to 9 material numbers.
If i remove the restriction over the basic keyfigure "ZRevenue" , then i get all the material numbers from 1 to 11, for "new selection" i get values for the material number 1 to 9 and for "restricted key figure" i get values for the material numbers 1 to 4.
Can some one explain me why this behavior?

This is where set theory comes in handy
So what you have is a basic KF (BKF), a selection (SEL), and an RKF.
When producing an output, BEx seems to be looking for the union of all the restrictions you place on these. So when your BKF is not restricted, the union comes out to everything in the underlying DSO. When you restrict the BKF for material number 1, this is how the restrictions might have been processed internally
BKF: Restriction on material 1
RKF: Restriction on material 1-4
SEL: Restriction on 1-3
Union of these three: 1-4
When you remove the BKF restriction and make SEL restricted to 9, this is how it plays out
BKF: NO Restriction on material
SEL: Restriction on material 1-9
RKF: Restriction on 1-4
Union of these three: everything.
As the union ends up giving you everything, you get 11 records. However, as SEL is restricted for 1-9, the SEL will have values for the materials 1-9. Likewise for RKF, you'll get values only for materials 1-4. Hope this clears things up!

Subject: Displaying key figures without currency unit in BEX reports

Hello,
Is it possible to display key figures without currency unit in BEx reports? For example; Material Costs 1000 EUR
should be shown as 1000. Currency unit EUR and also scaling factor (*1000 EUR) does not interest us.
When we use display options in query properties, we just see an option of displaying key figures with/without scaling factors, which does not solve our problem.

thank you very much for your quick reply. We have very detailed reports with min. 10 columns, I should have defined 10 more formula columns to realize this (NODIM), but anyway there is no other way to do this, am I right?

Report painter question regarding amounts in different currencies

Hi,
I have a report created in GRR2 using library 1VK. We display the total costs SWOG here but have the request to see in addition these costs in USD simulteanously. For that I included the basic key figure SWZG. When executing the report there is now a new selection parameter Target currency, Exchange rate date and Exchange rate type. I can see a new column with USD values, so far so good. But when I check the calculation I find that it can't be right, it differs from what it should calculate.
If I execute the report and select currency tranlsation of the key figure SWOG with exactly the same exchange parameters as above I'm getting different values in USD which match my manual calculation.
Any idea why this happens? What do you recommend to have both currencies ate the same time on the screen?

New Restringed key figure

Hi experts!
We would like to ask if it is possible to create a new calculated key figure within an BEX report in this way.
If the key figure is between a range of two key figures calculated, we would like to make it have a value in letters.
For example, we have the KF 1 with value and the KF 2.
     We would like to have two new key figures having into account KF1.
          If the difference of Key figure is +/- 1, we would like to see a value (ideally in text)
          If the difference of that key figure is supeior to 1, we would like to see other value (ideally in text)
     The the idea is: ¡
          KF3 =>If the value of KF1 is between +2 / -2 over KF2 ==> Value "OK"
                    KF 1 = 10
                    KF 2 = 10,5
                    Range (-1,+1)
                    As result => KF3 with value " OK"
          KF4 => If the value of KF1 is superior +2 / -2 over KF2 ==> Value " NO OK"
               For example:
                    KF 1 = 10
                    KF 2 = 14
                    Range (-1,+1)
                    As result => KF4 with value "NO OK"
In case that text is not possible, do you see any other alternative?

create two restricted KF with the above logic which you have mentioned.
and then follow the below procedure
1) click on the exception button in the tool bar
2) you will get separate tab 'exceptions' .
Rclick on the area, and click 'create exception'.
3)Rclick edit --> New
4)select Good(green)/average(yellow)/bad(red) and the values.
5)in the definition tab of your exceptions, select your keyfigures
6)save and activate the same

How to cumulate key figure for whole fiscal year with one time variable?

Hello everybody!
I have a problem creating a query that allows to get cumulated key figure for whole fiscal year (FY), when I actualy type only last period for the FY.
The query itself is very simple:
- I have "Organization" characteristic in "Rows" section
- I have one key figure "Number of invoices" in "Columns"
- I have "Fiscal year variant" 0FISCVARNT defined in "Filter" that has 12 periods within Fiscal year
and then
- in section "Free Characteristics" I have "Fiscal year/period" 0FISCPER.
I want to be able to provide ONE single value when run query, which is last period of a FY (like 012/2003), but then in report see cummulated number of invoices for WHOLE fiscal year.
Will appreciate any help!
