Report Painter - Period Zero Balance Sheet Account

Dear SAP Experts,
I'm trying to create a balance sheet using report painter and understand from the forum users that we have to use Period "Zero" to run the report.
However, the report that I generated from SAP shows the yearly movements not the accumulated balance.
I'm not sure what possibly went wrong and would appreciate if anyone could please advise on how should I troubleshoot / fix it?
Many thanks.

CH

  • Aging Report does not match Balance Sheet Receivables/Payables Account

    Hi experts,
I am requesting your help to find out why our customer receivables/vendor payables aging reports total does not match our balance sheet accounts receivable/ accounts payable account for the same period.
    I would expect
Customer Receivables Aging Report Total = Balance Sheet Accounts Receivables Account
Vendor Aging Report Total = Balance Sheet  Accounts Payables Account
    Thank you.
    Jane

When you run the report with an ending/aging date in the past (like the end of last month), if you do not display BP's with zero balances, it will leave out BP's who have a zero balance AT THE TIME YOU RUN THE REPORT.  Some of them may have had a non-zero balance at the end of the month, but they will be left off anyway.  So if a customer owed money on the last day of the month and he paid it on the first of the next month, his balance will not be shown on the report if you run it even one day later.
I feel this is a design defect in the report, but it is the system behavior.

  • Report to retrieve balance sheet accounts in foreign and local currencies?

    Hello,
I have question regarding the availability of a report in SAP. I am wondering if a report exists in SAP to retrieve the total outstanding balances on any given date for all the balance sheet accounts (including GRIR trade) in both functional and foreign currency.
I am currently using the FAGLL03 to do this but the problem is that this report is timing out when I select too many accounts.
Does anyone know if such a report exists in SAP (besides the FAGLL03 which takes too long to run)?
Thanks in advance for your answer.

    Hi
A quick way is to  run FAGLL03 in the background as a scheduled job.

  • Translation of Balance Sheet accounts at Period End Rate and Income Stateme

    Hi All,
I have a requirement of Transalation of Balance Sheet accounts at Period End Rate and Income Statement Accounts at Average Rate.
How can we achieve this in oracle r 12.1.3
    Regards,
    Chirag

    Hi Chirag
As per Oracle following are the rules that has to be followed for translation.
    1. For Balance Sheet Accounts (Asset & Liabilities) GL as a default uses the YTD rule.
    2. For P&L Accounts you can choose between YTD and PTD rule. So in your case you can use the default PTD Rule. (Profile Option 'GL Translation: Revenue/Expense Translation Rule')
YTD Rule = (Translated Period Amount = Period-End Rate x YTD Ledger Currency Balance - Beginning Translated Balance).
PTD Rule = (Translated Period Amount = Period Average Rate x PTD Ledger Currency Balance)
    Hope this helps.

  • PCA for Full Balance Sheet Accounting

    Dear SAP Guru,
We're currently in 4.7. We've implemented PCA for Profit and Loss Accounting. There's business requirement to produce Full Balance Sheet Accounting in PCA, i.e. the one similar to Business Area. Can the standard PCA module (in 4.7) support Full Balance Sheet Accounting? If can, what are the settings and steps that need to be configured in the system? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Hello,
you can get the full balance sheet from PCA.
    The steps are:
    1. You must make sure that you have completed financial statement version (OB58).
    2. Copy this account groups to PCA. (Please check the paths to copy the FSV to your PCA.
    3. See the available reports in KE80. One of the report must suit your requirement.
    4. If they are not suitable to your requirement, create your own balance sheet format (using form and report) - Report painter.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Balance Sheet Accounts in PCA

    Hi,
If I only activated PCA to capture the balance sheet accounts (Profit & Loss will be done strictly in COPA), can I left the field PC assigment in Cost Center Master Data to be empty?
Because the structure of the CC is in departement view, while the structure of PC is based on Product Hierarchy.
And I need to create the Balance Sheet Report based on the product hierarchy as in PC hierarchy.
Could any body advice me regarding the mater, like what is the implication if I left the PC assignment blank in CC master data.
    Any help would be appreciated..
    Thanks
    Lea

If you do not assign any profit center to a cost center, anyhow the system would assign them to a default <b>Dummy Profit Center</b> which makes it more difficult to reconcile Cost Center Accounting and Financial Accounting. It is therefore recommended that you assign a profit center to each Cost center.
The following are some more analysis based on SAP documentation on concept and PCA assignments with reference to your dilemma of how to assign profit center to cost center which has been designed based on different characteristics namely product hierarchy versus function.
You have divided your company into profit centers according to product hierarchy.
This makes it difficult to assign cost centers that are divided by functions, to a profit center, which is divided  by another attribute. i.e. product hierarchy. This can be apparent in a case, where, a production cost center may be performing  activities relating to products which fall under multiple profit centers.
In these cases, you may want to assign these cost centers to one profit center (for example, "Production A"). If the cost center then performs activities for a production order, the system however credits the profit center "Production A" as well as the cost center at the time of settlement.  You can then either settle the over-/under absorption from the cost center (for example, to a profitability segment) or allocate it directly to the corresponding product hierarchy in Profit Center Accounting.
It is often not possible to assign administration cost centers directly to a profit center. In this scenario, you can create profit center named <b>service profit center</b> or <b>allocation profit center.</b>. Then you may assign the admin cost center to the service profit center or  allocation profit center. This profit center would then contain all the administrative costs which occur. At the end of the period, you can then either settle this over-/under absorption from the cost center (for example, to a profitability segment), with assignment to a service profit center.
To simplify you can ideally assess or distribute it directly in Profit Center Accounting, with the allocation profit center as the sender. In either case, the corresponding profit center is credited at the end of the period.

  • Zero-Balance clearing account - account determination

    Hi all
For the different accounting principle (US GAAP / IAS and so on) we do not use the ledger solution, we use the account solution.
There numbering for the accounts is as follows:
xxxx00 accounts for all accounting principles
    xxxx01 accounts for US GAAP
    xxxx02 accounts for IAS
    xxxx03 accounts for local GAAP
In the same way, we set up the cost elements for assessment (e.g. 920'003) and the corresponding GL-account for the backward integration from CO -> FI (e.g. 930'003).
    Requirement:
For the profit center, the must be establised a complete balance sheet and P&L statement. This for all 3 accouting priniples.
Means we need a complete P&L statement und balance sheet per profit center for US GAAP, IAS and local GAAP.
    Problem:
As soon as a cross profitcenter assessment is done in the CO-OM (form cost center A to cost center B), there is a booking on the zero-balance clearing account.
In the customizing you can just set one single zero balance clearing account (in our case 199'990). But for a correct setting up of the 3 accounting principles we should be able to customize different zero-balance clearing accounts:
    Example:
    in CO-OM (cost center assessment)
    Profitcenter A: -100 cost element  920'003
    Profitcenter B: +100 cost element  920'003
in FI-module (backward integration CO to FI):
    Profitcenter A: -100 GL account 930'003 -> ok
    Profitcenter A: +100 GL account 199'990 -> Problem  -> should be 199'993
    Profitcenter B: +100 GL account930'003 -> ok
    Profitcenter B: -100 GL account 199'990 -> Problem  -> should be 199'993
If you could set up different zero balance clearing accounts, then you could print out the balance sheet and P&L statement in the FI module per profit center as follows:
    US-GAAP:  accounts xxxx00 and xxxx01
    IAS:            accounts xxxx00 and xxxx02
    local:          accounts xxxx00 and xxxx03
Swiss GAP FER: xxxx00 und xxxx01 Konten
    Steuer: xxxx00 und xxxx02 Konten
    kalkulatorisch: xxxx00 und xxxx03 Konten
Thanks very much for any input.
    Pius

    Dear,
If I understood your requirement correctly then you want different ZERO balance clearing GL Account for below type  GL Accounts
xxxx00 accounts for all accounting principles
    xxxx01 accounts for US GAAP
    xxxx02 accounts for IAS
    xxxx03 accounts for local GAAP
Please correct me if I am wrong. If correct then you can post accounting entries to different GL Account by using Substitution OBBH. You have to decide the pre-requisite and on the basis of that you can write the substituon.
    Hope this helps.

  • Inheritation of tax codes in G/L balance sheet accounts (New GL)?

    Hello everybody,
one of my customers is migrating to New GL, where they want to use document split for some fields.
For some balance sheet accounts the they also want to inherit the tax code to the balance sheet account line (for reporting purposes).
Is it possible to inherit also the tax code to a splitted balance sheet line?
Thanks in advance for any help,
    Angela

    Hi Angela,
as Nauma already posted, inheritance is only possible for document split characteristics and tax code is not such a characteristic.
But even if its possible to inheritate / substitute the tax code into the BS sheet line item, what if the posting contains different tax codes (eg visiting an austrian restaurant: the bill contains 10% VAT items (Food) as well as 20% VAT items (beverages wo milk))?
What should be the rule for BS account tax code? So the requirement sounds strange...
    Best regards, Christian

  • Zero Balance Clearing Account for New GL

    Hi SAP Gurus,
We have one unique situation for zero balance clearing account for New GL.
We have one global chart of account to which all company codes are assigned. We implemented document splitting with zero balance clearing for 1 splitting characteristics.  We defined clearing account for zero balance for the same as well.
We need to post to different account only for one company code for zero balancing while other company codes will be posting to same clearing account.  But as per me, we can only define one GL Account per Chart of Account for zero balancing.
Pls. suggest if you have any solution to this situation.
    Regards,
    Chirag

    Hi,
Do you have a business rationale for this requirement? Apparently you are using the same Chart of Accounts and hence cannot assign a different GL Account.
This account will always have zero balance at GL Account level and will not be relevant to your legal reporting. A better solution would be to use the one account that all company codes can agree upon and use.

  • Balance sheet account postings to Internal order

    Hi All,
I have a situation in which I have to make a prepaid expense from a BS account but want to assign it to an internal order so that when this expense actually occur, I can use this internal order report for all the prepayment made against that expense. I can create a cost element for this BS account but this is not a good practice. Do you guys have any other idea that I can implement here which is good practice and also solve the problem.
    Thanks
    MKR

    Hi
SAP Best practises is not to assign Internal Order to a Balance Sheet GL Account.
In the Standard SAP, you might get an error if you assign an order to a Balance sheet account, but you have an option to change the error message from error to warning.
You might have to change the field status group assign to the balance sheet gl account to make the Order as Optional Entry.
