Report: passing values to item page

on Apex 3.2
Hi,
I need help.
Does anyone knows a way to pass values from a report to a page item?
This is what i want: when i run a report i want to fill a page item with the value from an item report.
Thanks,

Hi Austin,
Thank you for your reply.
I've writen a query that gives me the accounting movements.
In this query the user can pass the rownum because there are about 1million records in the partitioned table.
But the diference between credit and debit must considered all the movements that are not closed.
I'm using analitics functions to do that, so for each line the value is already calculated.
With one report region: If i group and break the report it takes about 13 seconds to display the information.
If two report regions: One for the movements other for the "Debit: Credit: and Total:". It takes about 6 seconds to display the info.
Its more fast, but i have to run the query twice. The idea is to run only once.
The values that i want to pass from report to page items, Debit: Credit: and Total:.
Is there a way?
Thanks,

  • Column link - call java script & assign current report column value to item

    Hi,
    How to call java script and assing current report column value to item?
    I have a button column in the report to 'delete' the selected row.
    I want to first show dialog box with message 'Are you sure?'. If yes, process to delete
    will be executed, else no action.
    In order to fire JS, I used Column Link ->Target=URL.
    Problem: The alert is showing but I don't know how to pass selected row's primary
    key value to process (to delete selected row).
    I have a item which can be used to store selected primary key value but don't know how to assign the value
    when button pressed.
    Thanks in advance

    Ok. The issue has been resolved by following way.
    PAGE PROCESS: delete_request

    commit;
    end;BUTTON URL:
    javascript: DelRec(null,'CREATE', 'f?p=&APP_ID.:8:&SESSION.:delete_request:NO::P8_id:#id#');Java Script:

  • How to call & pass values to custom page from seeded page table region

    Hi All,
    can anyone tell me how to call & pass values to custom page from seeded page table region(Attribute is not available in seeded page VO)
    it is urgent. plssss
    Regards,
    purna

    Hi,
    Yes, we do this by extending controller, but you can also try this without extending controller.
    1. Create Submit Button on TableRN using personalization.
    2. Set "Destination URI" property to like below
    OA.jsp?page=/<yourname>/oracle/apps/ak/employee/webui/EmpDetailsPG&employeeNumber={@EmployeeId}&employeeName={@EmployeeName}&retainAM=Y&addBreadCrumb=Y
    Give your custom page path instead of EmpDetailsPG.
    EmployeeId and EmployeeName are VO attributes(Table Region)
    If you dont have desired attribute in VO, then write logic in your custom page controller to get required value using parameters passed from URL path.
    In this case, only personalization will do our job. Hope it helps.
    Thanks,

  • Passing values to iframed page with flash chart.

    Hi,
    I'm trying to dynamically generate a series of charts within a sql report.
    In my report i make several calls to a page with a (flash) chart and i pass some values to this page/chart by setting page items through the source url of the iframe.
    The problem is that all the iframed instances of the page in my report display the same data although each iframe sets specific page item values through its source url.
    (only the page item values that were set by the last call to the page are being used by all the other chart instances)
    So why does this happen?
    Are the iframed charts rendered to slow?
    Is this a flash problem?
    Should i call each iframe within a seperate session?
    And does anyone know how to correctly pass values to the iframed page / chart so each instance of the page/chart displays the correct data?
    Thanks
    Niels

    Solved my problem by leaving the SESSION part blank in the src url of the iframe.
    Apex creates a new session for every iframe now, the page items values are not overwritten and the data is displayed correctly.

        var empNum = $(el).children('td[headers="EMPNO"]').text();
        var eName  = $(el).children('td[headers="ENAME"]').text();
        window.location ='http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=71510:2:&SESSION.:::2:P2_X,P2_X2:'+empNum+','+eName;

  • Passing values to another page with %

    I have a button that redirects to another page in my application. I am passing the value of one my fields to the target page via <Set These Items> and <With These Values>. The source field has a % at the end of it. When the value gets passed to the target, the % is not passed. Is there a problem passing values with % in them?
    Here is the passing parameter list:
    Set These Items: P22_DB_NAME
    With These values: &P2_DB_NAME.
    The value of P2_DB_NAME is "ESB%". When it gets to the target page it is "ESB".

    Brian,
    you will need to encode the percent sign and use
    %25
    instead of
    Make your button an url and use this link. It will replace the percentage with the encoded value and pass the value to the specified item.
    redirect('f?p=&APP_ID:22:&SESSION.::::P22_DB_NAME:'+$x('P2_DB_NAME').value.replace(/%/, '%25'));

  • Reporting - Pass value on url (Querystring)

    Has anyone out there had success passing values into Configmgr 2012 SSRS reports through "QueryString?"
    I'd like to be able to email clients a report (either that I create or canned) that I can pass a variable in the http url and it presents that data.  That way the report can be dynamic - but allow us to email the exact data we want to the client.
    I have read several posts it is possible, but I have not been able to successfully do this with any of the existing SCCM reports.
    Any ideas or thoughts?

    So I sort of stumbled upon a bit of the solution after doing a bit of research on the SSRS technet articles.  It appears that it matters how you access your reports.
    There appears to be a different report engine if you go to ReportServer and ReportViewer.aspx instead of Reports and Report.aspx.  The ReportViewer.aspx must give you access to querystring and other command options you pass in including the rs:.
    SO - other folks with more SSRS experience may be able to explain with greater details the real reasons this works but if you need to do this - simply change your URL to the following:
    http://<ServerName>/ReportServer/Pages/ReportViewer.aspx?%2f<SSRS-Folder>%2f<ReportHTTPName>&rs:Command=Render&variable=<VariableValue>
    So a real example would be:  http://<ServerName>/ReportServer/Pages/ReportViewer.aspx?%2f<SSRS-Folder>%2fHardware+-+Memory%2fMemory+information+for+a+specific+computer&rs:Command=Render&variable=Computer1
    The two keys I saw are:
    rs:Command (this forces the report to run and execute and not just load up and ask you for a value)
    variable=xxx - this is the name of the parameter in the SSRS report.  So you need to edit the report and then determine the name of the actual variable.  Also - this appears to be case sensitive.
    If someone out there is a report expert and wants to clarify my statement - please feel free to do so.  Hopefully this helps out someone else who needs this!
    We have requests for data from clients who want a "live report" - but explaining the values in the fiels (or getting them not to type computer names incorrectly) is a pain - so this will help me significantly in day to day reporting for clients!
    We also have a report for App Dev folks to see their distributions (pie-charts) - and I can now send them a dynamic report of their specific app w/out having to filter down and remember what I named their package or application.  Direct link to their
    data!
    Thanks again if anyone wants to add to my "solution here" and clarify the technicalities of SSRS and Querystring.

  • Passing values to next page on Update image click?

    Hi Everyone,
    I have developed one OAF page which has onw table data to show. The last column is Update Image icon.
    Columns are like this: Eno, enmae, comm, address, salary, update.
    On clicking on update icon on any row the corresponding Eno and Ename should be passed to next Update page and these two values has to be displayed on teh Update page.
    How can i do that?
    Please help...
    Thanks.

    PPR event on Update Image would do the magic for you.
    Go to the properties of the Image icon and select below
    1) Action Type : fireAction
    2) Event : updateEmp (This event needs to be captured in the page CO)
    3) Parameters :
    a)pEmpNo : ${oa.current.EmpNoID} (EmpNoID is the view attribute for Employee Number. You keep proper name of your VO attribute here)
    b)pEmpName : ${oa.current.EmpName} (EmpName is the view attribute for Employee Name. You keep proper name of your VO attribute here)
    c) Add more parameters if you want to pass maore
    4) In processFormRequest of the page catch the event 'updateEmp' and forward to the next page
    String eventRaised = pageContext.getParameter("event");
    if ("updateEmp".equalsIgnoreCase(eventRaised)) {
    HashMap actionHashMap = new HashMap();
    String pEmpNo= pageContext.getParameter("pEmpNo");
    String pEmpName = pageContext.getParameter("pEmpName");
    actionHashMap.put("pParamEmpNo", "{!!" + pageContext.encrypt(pEmpNo)); --always encrypt
    actionHashMap.put("pParamEmpName", "{!!" + pageContext.encrypt(pEmpName ));
    pageContext.setForwardURL(include the next page function/URL and other parameters along with actionHashMap);
    5) In the next page CO, get the passed parameters in processRequest using
    String pEmpNo= pageContext.getParameter("pParamEmpNo");
    String pEmpName = pageContext.getParameter("pParamEmpName");
    --Do your other stuff on how to use these parameters
    Hope this will direct you properly.

  • How to pass values between two pages

    also see:
    In portlets, how to use a html form passing  values to the another page?
    and
    htmlFormActionLink() method
    in common B/S developing, use html link add with a parameter or some parameters or we can submit it in a form to post values to another page .but how to do these in portal?
    I tried to write the code, but couldn't run at all!
    the provider.xml is still no problem!
    would you be so kind as to help me ?
    thanks!

    Hi Ravi,
            Using the call
    navigation->set_parameter( name='myparameter' value = myvalue ).
    you can set the page parameter myparameter to the value myvalue. This value can then be used for processing in the subsequent page.
    If the form field (in the layout part) and the page parameter are of the type string and are specified by the same name (in this case, myparameter), the following abbreviation can be used:
    navigation->set_parameter( 'myparameter' ).
    Using the set_parameter you can pass only the parameters of type string. If you wish to pass more set of values then you can call a method and then export the values of the drop down.
    Pls reward if useful.
    Thanks.

  • Pass value from one page to another

    Hi All,
    "How to pass the value from one Flex page to anothere Flex
    page".
    In First Flex page contains One Inputtext and one button is
    there.After entering the data in inputtext box,the user clicks on
    the button then get the data from inputtext box and then i need to
    send that value to another flex page and display there.
    Can u tel me plz............
    Thanks & Regards,
    Nagarjuna.

    I believe you are thinking in terms of HTML and traditional
    page coding. As an old school ColdFusion guy I understand it is
    difficult to leave that behind. (at least it was for me.) Unless
    you literally have two different HTML pages that each have their
    own Flex app running in them you do not need to send data from one
    page to the next like you would with Web Forms. (If you are doing
    that you may want to simply write the data to a Shared Object, Pass
    it to a server to store and then feed back into the second Flex App
    when it loads or perhaps use the ExternalInterface to then pass it
    through as a series of URL parameters that can be loaded into the
    next Flex App.)
    In Flex you do not have to worry about loosing state between
    pages because there are literally no pages. Only different views.
    You would not "Send" the value from one page to another. You
    provide a mechanism for the second view to reference the same model
    or data object (most call them ValueObjects) that the first view is
    setting via the form fields.
    You would want to use a ValueObject in the first VIEW and
    then fill the object with the form data using setter methods on the
    object. For example set the fields onChange event to call the
    setter on the object and pass it the form fields value as the
    property. Alternately you could bind the values of the model
    directly to the fields so that they automatically obtain the data
    that is being filled in.
    Depending on how complex of an application you are going to
    build and how scalable it must eventually be you have many
    different options to choose from to allow the second View to use
    the data set but the first. However to make the application
    ultimately more scalable you are going to want to keep your view
    separated from the controller and that separated from the
    Model/ValueObject. (By seperated I mean in different classes.)
    I would suggest looking up the subject of MVC in Flex and
    also the Mediator Design pattern. There are many great sources of
    information.
    Here are a few links that may help with ideas.

    </body>
    </html>
    The 3rd jsp page is:
    <%@page contentType="text/html"%>
    <html>
    <head><title>JSP Page</title></head>
    <body>

    <%-- <jsp:getProperty name="beanInstanceName" property="propertyName" /> --%>
    </body>
    </html>
    Your help is appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply, it works. I was wondering whether this is an efficient way of doing this. What I want to do further is to setup a connection to a database and use the value I got from my previous page to query the DB and get the results and display.
    I have see some code in the java website and a lot of people do by writting a bean /class(believe bean is just a class) and then importing it and do the things that way. I have good knowledge of OO and Java as a language and would definitely love to do it this way.
    What i think i am missing is the basic idea to doing this way. So if you could let me know how to do this using java classes I would really appreciate it. If its too much to explain can u point to some good source(URL's) that explain's this. I have searched on this and all i find is code with no good explaination.
    Thanks a lot

  • Pass value between JSP pages

    I would like to pass values between pages.
    I don't want showing up on the url. Ex: some.jsp?param=value
    I don't feel it's safe.
    It's not coming from form either....
    How can I hide the value and pass it to next page?
    I want to pass the value when the user click on a hyperlink
    Thanks In Advance.

    Client side information is never safe no matter what you do. If the values don't end up in the url, they are always present SOMEWHERE in the html content.
    If you don't want the values to end up in the url, rework the page so it DOES do a post form submit. You could turn the hyperlink into a javascript call that submits the form for you.

  • Process - Pass values to another page

    Procedure for passing parameters.
    Hi
    I have a report region on my page, where the each record have a checkbox to reference a Identifier..
    I want to pass all identifiers referring to the checkbox selected to another page.
    For this I created an item called: P20010_NIVEIS_SEL .. I put the values in it and his step to another item on another page.
    But is not working.
    The process is this:
    DECLARE
    BEGIN
      IF htmldb_application.g_f01.COUNT <= 1 THEN
          : P20010_NIVEIS_SEL: = htmldb_application.g_f01 (1);
      ELSE
        FOR i IN 1 .. htmldb_application.g_f01.COUNT LOOP
          : P20010_NIVEIS_SEL: =: P20010_NIVEIS_SEL | | ',' | | htmldb_application.g_f01 (i);
        END LOOP;
          : P20010_NIVEIS_SEL: = SUBSTR (: P20010_NIVEIS_SEL, 2,: P20010_NIVEIS_SEL.LENGTH);
      END IF;
    END;It´s importante say that to pass the parameters I created a branch to another page, where while the contents of an item to another.
    This giving an error:
    ORA-01008: not all variables are limitedthanks

    Hi,
    Quickly I noticed few mistake. I did not test this, but you could
    DECLARE
    BEGIN
      IF apex_application.g_f01.COUNT <= 1 THEN
          :P20010_NIVEIS_SEL := apex_application.g_f01(1);

  • Passing value to LOV page scope

    Hi ,
    In my application ,I am using ADF task flow and af:region
    to display lov (each lov search content is in a seperate jsff file).
    I have to pass some parameters to fragment page flow scope and
    for that I am declaring parameters in base page def and task flow def.The problem
    with this is, the passed parameter does not contain the latest value. Though
    I have made sure that each time the passed parameter must refreshed by setting
    refresh condition of base page def config as ifneeded and each time I am passing
    a dummy parameter (containing Math.random() value) only to make sure that
    each time it passes a different set of parameters.
    Can anybody find out what is going wrong here?
    One more thing... If I put the values in other scopes (process, session) and try to
    access, the value passed is null.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ghosh

    Hi ,
    I have tried out ur suggestion but it's still not working ,here i am attaching my code,

    String nbrOrgvalue = (String)pageContext.getParameter("OrgNameChoice");
    frmBean1.setValue(pageContext,nbrOrgvalue);
    i also mapped this OrgFrmValue as critem item in LOV , which in turns refers to UserIdFrmValue bean of LOV Page from value Item .
    I am using following code in my LOV Page CO :

    The Success message is as follows:
    Article &DOCID. Created/Updated Successfully

    Shivanand,
    There's no need to post that much code when you could create a very short test case that demonstrates only the problem you are having.
    You're using &NAME. notation on something that isn't a page or application item. You can't reference PL/SQL variables that way (or any other way) outside the PL/SQL scope. For your situation, you could create a page item named P55_DOCID and assign it a value in the PL/SQL process (:P55_DOCID := DOCID;), then reference &P55_DOCID. in HTML areas like the success message.
