Report registration

how to register a report with any custom responsibilities and custom application and run that report to get the output. Can someone please help me as I'm new to Oracle applications. I'm using report developer 6i and Oracle 11i application server.

I'm new to here, doesn't know the way to sort out your probs, but suggesting you to take help from google, i'm sure it might help you. Come in for new suggestion or idea or question. Thank again to the foru m admin to give me the platform for giving and taking own idea from this forum.

How to define parameters in custom reports registration

In my custom report i need to register some parameters and i did so earlier on .. but this time i need some kind of constant lov feild in my report parameters and i cant able to do that .. lets suppose i have parameter on flow status and it is 'SHIPPED' or 'CLOSED' . if i want to see data based on 'SHIPPED' lines, i want to select 'SHIPPED' from my lov, otherwise 'CLOSED' and one more condition may be BOTH for that i use '%' with LIKE ...
Right now i m using charector 10 constant in concurrent > program > define.
And when my report run it ask value for my parameter and i have write the exact value ..other wise it not run .. i want to creat fix lov feild for input parameter .
Do suggust me .. how can i do that .

You can create a new value set by following the steps:
Go to Application Developer -> Validation -> Set and create a new value set by giving:
1. Value set name
2. Type
3. Size
4. Validation type -> select as independent
Save the changes
Then go to Application Developer -> Validation values and query for your value set that you created in your previous step.
Then add the values 'SHIPPED','CLOSED','BOTH' on the list and save changes.
Then go to concurrent program -> define and query for your concurrent program and change the value set for that parameter to the one you created.
Then run the report by selecting a value from the LOV.
For Both you can use something like this:
a.flow_status:= NVL(:P_flow_status, a.flowstatus)Dont use LIKE operator as it my slow down the report execution in case if the reoprt is huge

Report registration troubleshooting

Dear all,
I am trying to convert a seeded report with output to excel but I when testing the report it is taking to much time to run and completing in error.
I am sure I have made some mistakes. I am listing the steps that I have performed.
Report- Asset Register Report
Responsibility- Application Developer
Copies the report
Change output to xml
Responsibility xml publisher
Downloaded the template
Created a new data definition
Created a new template
Responsibility System Admin
Attached the new report
Submitted the request
The request is taking much time to complete and completing with warning. I have tried several times with different reports but still have the same issues. I think I am not doing the steps well.

As per concurrent log ("Setting the profile option Concurrent: OPP Response Timeout to a higher value may be necessary.'" ), have you tried changing it ?
If not, by default, a timeout will occur if the report takes more than 5 minutes (300s).
You can use following to check value:
SELECT FND_PROFILE.VALUE('CONC_PP_RESPONSE_TIMEOUT') FROM DUAL;
These 2 profiles options that can be tuned to control the timeouts:
Profile Option : Concurrent:OPP Response Timeout
Internal Name : CONC_PP_RESPONSE_TIMEOUT
Description : Specifies the amount of time a manager waits for OPP to respond to its request for post processing.
Profile Option : Concurrent:OPP Process Timeout
Internal Name : CONC_PP_PROCESS_TIMEOUT
Description : Specifies the amount of time the manager waits for the OPP to actually process the request.
The value for the above profile options can be increased to avoid timeouts.
In your case:
If your report is taking about 30 min., then set this profile option to a value > 30 min. (1800s), for ex., 2000 or higher.
Don't forget to bounce the conc, manager.
Another option is to "optimize" the report (of course, not the seeded one, but a copied version ) so that it finishes 'fast' (< 5 min. if your OPP timeout is 5 min.).

RV042 VoIP-phone reports "Registration failed"

This is a continuation of a discussion that I erroneously marked "answered".
The title was "RV042 protocol binding for SIP and RTP (VoIP)"
I would like to provide a link to it here but I don't know how.

Problem is solved. Reason was that Network Service Detection was enabled and the Default Gateway did not respond to ping requests which resulted in a WAN failure condition with the consequence of protocol bindings failing over to the working WAN which is inappropriate for the IP-phone registering with the IP telephony provider.

Which API to update supplier site VAT registration number?

I am using the AP_VENDOR_PUB_PKG.Create_Vendor_SITE API call to populate the VAT_REGISTRATION_NUM field, whcih then appears as the "Default Reporting Registration Number" under the Tax Details page of the supplier screens.
Unfortunately the call to AP_VENDOR_PUB_PKG.Update_Vendor_Site does not seem to update the value in this field even though I am passing a new VAT_REGISTRATION_NUM value into the API. Does anybody know of any other API I could use to update this field?

Seeded Reports

Hi,
Are there any samples available to show the concurrent program seeded reports available with OLM?
I'm specifically looking for an example of the Attendance and Signature Sheet Report, Registration Report, and Student Sign-in Sheet.

9ias v2 - reports server failed, all else worked, how to fix?

My install went fine with the one exception of the reports server. It generated an error but all else kept on working.
A couple of answers if anybody knows though would be great.
1. How do you install ONLY the reports server.
2. I can't find the Discoverer Plus or Viewer html start files.
Could this have been caused by the reports server not installing?
3. I've installed 9i database v2, 9ias v2, 9ids, etc. Where is the documentation
to now get Portals up?

The answer is as you suggested in the Reports release notes. However,
the notes say to "Log on to the Oracle Internet Directory and obtain
the Oracle9iAS Portal user database password".
1. What the heck is that and how do I log on to it?
2. If I 'log on' to it, it'll show the Portal user database password?

Start up the Oracle Internet Directory administration tool:
Start > Programs > (9iAS Instance) > Oracle Internet Directory > Oracle Directory Manager
Log into the oidadmin tool using the OID administrator account
(cn=orcladmin) for the Infrastructure installation.
Username: cn=orcladmin
Password: administrator_password (note this is the one you set during install)
Server : host running Oracle Internet Directory and port number where
Oracle Internet Directory is listening (this may be 4032)
Navigate the administration tool.
=> Entry Management
=> cn=OracleContext
=> cn=Products
=> cn=IAS
=> cn=Infrastructure Databases
=> orclReferenceName=Single Sign-On database SID:Single Sign-On Server
hostname
(for example: orclReferenceName=iasdb:infra.acme.com)
=> orclResourceName=PORTAL
Click the above entry and look for the orclpasswordattribute attribute
value on the right panel. This value is the Oracle9iAS Portal user
database password

Solution
Checking completeness and consistency of SLD
First check whether the PI structures in SLD are incorrect. Start the SLD user interface (http:<host name>:<port>/sld), navigate to Technical Systems --> Process Integration
For a correct PI registration, the tabular display of the PI structure must contain the following entries:
- One entry for the domain of the Integration Server
- One entry for each PI component: Integration Server, Adapter Engine, Directory, Repository and Runtime Workbench (RWB). Each must be assigned to the domain above, i.e. the domain name must appear in column "Domain".
If some of the PI components Adapter Engine, Directory, Repository or Runtime Workbench are missing in the table, you need to explicitly register those as described below. If they appear in the table, but are not assigned to a domain, you have to delete them and register them explicitly.
Deleting PI components
Navigate to
Technical Systems --> Process Integration
Select the components you want to delete, push "remove" button.
Beware: Do not accidentally delete the XIIntegrationServer.
Triggering SLD Registration of PI components
You can trigger registration of a PI component by restarting the associated application. Navigate to the start/stop UI in the Netweaver Administrator:
http:<host name>:<port> --> SAP Netweaver Administrator --> Configuration Management --> infrastructure --> application modules
Here you restart the applications for the missing PI components:
com.sap.xi.directory (Integration Builder/Configuration)
com.sap.aii.af.app (Adapter Engine)
com.sap.xi.rwb (Runtime Workbench)
com.sap.xi.repository (Integration Builder/Design)
this is why i gave both notes as the information you provided was far from complete...
what version are you using? is it a new install? or a restore? or did it just go like this???

SPA112 FW bug confirmed: registration broken during and after outbound call

After receiving and configuring my new SPA112, everything seemed to work out just fine: registration to the SIP proxy, inbound calls, etc. However, at some point I discovered that outbound calls would typically only work for a certain amount of time, after which the connection to the callee would be lost, just like the my registration to the SIP proxy. In the SPA112's Web interface, the device reports "Registration State: Failed" in such cases. Only a reboot of the device will result in a successful registration again. Firmware version: 1.3.5(004).
To diagnose the problem, I enabled both syslog and debug logging and started capturing and analyzing what is going wrong:
[Before call]

These two registration sequences (regular SIP messages at the one hand and the debug messages at the other hand) are alternating, and the succesfull registration is followed by the failing registration in a short time, so most typical state is "Failed".
Any suggestion on what I could try to solve the issue is welcome!

I'm able to reproduce the problem in my test lab.
It seems that device can't fetch IP address of the SIP proxy from it's internal cache during active call (GetServerAddrErr error -101). And the issue doesn't solve in full even after the calls end.
It is not networking issue between device and DNS server as no DNS query has been issued (the IP address is cached from previous query that has been responded successfully).
As a workaround I configured proxy IP instead of name.
It work.
It seems we hit (another) firmware bug.

Please help me in this regardWhat all you have studied is basics. And in the institutes they only teach you 5% of actual work, Yes only 5%. They can not teach the whole 5 years learning just in few classes.
In real time When you are working as a technical consultant, you get to speak to functional consultants a lot of time for developing reports, customization, creating custom forms.... So thats why the interviewer has asked a mixture of both technical and functional.
The questions they asked also depends on the number of years experience you have in the resume ;).
How ever you can gain more knowledge from blogs and forums like this.

Changing File Adapter target directory - container bounce required?

I edited USPSshipment.wsdl in the FulfillmentESB project to reflect my desired target directory (/home/oracle/usps_ship instead of C:\temp) and then re-registered the project with ESB.
The registration completed normally, and I verified that the edited USPSshipment.wsdl file exists in the deploy and content directories in the ESB home. Also, checking the WSDL file from the ESB console showed the new value.
However, until I bounced the OC4J_soa container, order submissions continued to use the C:\Temp target. After I bounced the container, the next order submission went to the desired /home/oracle/usps_ship.
What is the expected cacheing behavior here? Is there a programmatic way to clear the cache after an ESB deploy. It is too restrictive if I have to bounce the whole container serving ESB and BPEL (perhaps many processes and ESB adapters) just to make a change in one particular project.

Example: Immediate reflection of change w/o further action
If I change the Shipment router filter criteria (Fulfillment_Shipment.esbsvc) to cut at say $750 instead of $500, then re-register FulfillmentESB with OrderBookingIS, JDeveloper reports:

The next submitted order follows the new criteria (e.g. a $600 order goes out USPS).
Example: Change not reflected in runtime, until OC4J container restarted
If I change the target physical directory of the USPS Shipment file adapter (USPSShipment.wsdl), then re-register FulfillmentESB with OrderBookingIS, JDeveloper reports:
Registration of Services Successful
However, the next submitted orders continue to be written to the previous target physical directory. Checking the value of the re-deployed USPSShipment.wsdl at the ESB host filesystem and through the ESB console shows the updated value, but the old copy is being actually used to process the message.
Restarting the OC4J container, causes the updated USPSShipment.wsdl to be referenced for messages submitted thereafter.

Standard vs Custom Templates view

Can you please explain what's the difference between these two views in Reports Registration view? When do we use which? Can we use the Standard Templates view for customized reports?

We need to customize SAP as per client requiremnt.
Its better to use standard material types always.... system performance and reporting wiill be good....
But we need to customize the system as per client requirement.. and reporting too....
based on the client requirement we need to use Custom Materil type for reporting purpose.....

Concurrent Request Output show in XML format

I have developed XML report and also registered with predefine procedure but when i run respective concurrent request it display in XML format instead of PDF/RTF.

Getting error when trying to use on 64bit server.

I have deployed my .NET app to 32bit workstations with no problem, but I have some users that remote in to the server to run and they cannot print reports. They are getting the following error
Either Crystal reports registration key permissions are insufficient or the Crystal Reports runtime is not installed.
Please install appropriate Crystal Reports redistributable
What do I need to do in order for this to work in 32bit and 64bit environments?

Need more info.
1) What version of CR?
2) What OS?
3) Is this a we app or some sort of server / client app?
4) What version of .NET?
Also, from your description, I'm having a problem connecting that to your query re 32 bit and 64 environments(?).
