Report Repository

Hi,
In the BI Publisher admin console on the "Admin" tab under "System Administration -->Report Repository", it looks like there is a way to configure where report templates are stored (file system vs. xml db).
We have shared BI Publisher environment in that different business users are using it to generate different types of unrelated reports. There are also different development teams authoring the different templates for each business unit. So, if possible, we would like to keep the templates stored separately. Is there a way to configure BI Publisher so that there different "Report Repositories" (i.e. storage locations) for different reports?

For now, it is single repository ,
why don't you restrict the user to their specific folders.

Error while saving model to the reporting repository with logical views

I have created a view object in the logical model based on objects from the logical model. When I try to save the model to the reporting repository, an error occurs.` If I remove the view object, I can successfully save the model to the reporting repository. Here is the log detail:

Where is the value of report repository stored in the database?

Hi all,
One of our developers is trying to write a code that would send the output report (pdf)of a process through mail, typical work flow stuff.But the problem is that we are not supposed to hard code the value of report repositiry from where the report has to be picked.can anybody suggest a table in the database from where the value of report repository can be queried.
we tried using
select reportrepositorypt from pswebprofile.
but this doesnt return the correct path. we went to PIA->peopletools->webprofile ->webprofie configuration
here we updated the value in report repository field and saved it and queried again.
But this didnt solve our problem.
Its showing the previous value which is different from the actual report repository path.
all the servers are in solaris box.
please suggets.

Right now, I am trying to send a PDF (XML Publisher report) as an email to our vendors (it is their ACH Advice).
What I have done so far is: Created an App Engine, one step to populate a state record with run control information and the second step that runs XML Publisher and creates PDF report(s) which are published to the Report Repository and saved to a file on our network. Now I think I just need to create a third step to recall the PDF(s) and send the PDF(s) out as emails to our vendors.
I have found that the PDF information from Report Repository is stored in the Database in the CDM_LIST_VW record (this is a view and the main underlying table is CDM_LIST, but this contains what I need for now, so I'm going to try using it first). The Report ID is stored in the CONTENTID field and the Report Description (description shown on the Report Repository -- which in our case contains the email address) is stored in the CONTENT_DESCR field. So I am going to try over the next week to write the logic to query the CDM_LIST_VW for the data needed for the email address and the ReportID to go and grab the file....The hardest part is finding the actual file but I am hoping that I can also find a URL on that table. I'd pull the file from the network, but XML Publisher writes them out into numbered folders where all the PDFs are named the XML Report Defn - thus same name). I have not tried any of this yet, but am hoping I'm on the right path.

Reports are not posting with report repository webserver configured for Sin

Hi Everyone,
We have configured Single Signon on our Test environment (UADB1) using Sun Authentication Manager. Everything went well, we can login using our LDAP accounts except for one thing. The reports are not posting to the report repository.
Our setup goes like this. We have used only one webserver for login and for report repository purposes. SSL certificate was configured in the webserver and we are using https in the report node. Both URLs https://dv001.test.com:8450 and http://dv001.test.com:8400 were configured for Single Signon.

List of reports in the reporting repository

Hello !
Some time after upgrading to SP15 I have found that there is no more list of reports in the configuration of reporting repository. Is it really so or it is my local problem, connected maybe with errors during installation of SP15 ?

It's all ok with your reporting repository configuration, this list was removed. Instead you can activate or deactivate single reports directly in the "Reports" area.
You find it after you turned on advanced mode within the repository manager area under "Related Areas".
It is better to have only one place where you configure a report. I always forgot to enable a report in the repository manager after I created it.

"Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler reporting repository required"

Hi all,
Trying to make use of Data Modeler Reports from within SQL Dev EA 2.1, but every time I try to connect to a DB I get the following message "Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler reporting repository required."
Any idea how to go about sorting this out?

Hi i have the Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler version 2.0.0 installed.
When i try to export one diagram to the reporting schema, i get the following error : "Error occurred while exporting to Reporting Schema.See the log file for details".
The log file has no errors.
The repository owner is DBA.
The connection is ok.
Can you help me?

Issue with report repository

Hi,
I installed the new peoplesoft FSCM9.0/PT8.49 environment for personal use. My PS_HOME path is D:/PT8.49. my appserver and prcs server name is PSFIN9. I am using the report repository path as D:/psreports when install the webserver and updated the web profile also with the same path.
In the report node if i enter URI source as SchedulerTransfer/<site name> reports are not posting to report repository. If I remove that entry from report node reports are posting to D:/PSFIN9 folder which is created when reports are posted. But when I click on log files link on process monitor getting the file not found error as it is refering to D:\psreports directory.
Please help me on this.

Report node and reports repository

what is the difference between report node and reports repository. I know that Process schedular picks the report from report repository in order to show in process monitor. Does report node and reports repository are same??

After a report runs to success in runstatusYeah, but the files are send to the report repository even if it is not successful terminated (run status is not sucess). If the files are not sent to the report repository, then the problem doesn't come from the process itself, but from the definition, space availibity...
When a report has been posted sucessfully (transfered from the process scheduler report repository - on the other hands the log_output dir, to the report repository defined into the report node), the status of the distribution status is Posted.
The run status and distribution status are independant eachother.

That is achievable.
The password on the login screen is saved inside an xml file snps_login_work.xml in an encrypted format.
All you got to do is distribute a generic copy that xml file with the connection information saved and distribute it to the users.

So far so good. One of the pieces of information I need out of the Oracle Data Modeler reporting schema is the columns in foreign keys. Foreign keys are not usually enforced in datamarts but data analysts must know what the foreign keys are to join tables.
There is a notation in Relational Model Elements.pdf "Foreign keys of DMR_CONSTR_INDEX_COLUMNS table are not valid since one column is used to refer to objects in two different tables"
This begs the question: Is there a valid foreign key in DMRS_CONSTR_INDEX_COLUMNS to join it to DMRS_FOREIGNKEYS or is the model documented incorrectly?
The repository adds tremendous value to Data Modeler.

SQL Data Modeler reporting repository data model

SQL Data Modeler (SDM) reporting repository data model
I exported several models to reporting schema and reviewed the reports. So far so good. The reports I need are not included so I'm creating my own. I imported the reporting schema to SDM to explore the model and see how to join the tables. Has anyone already done this exercise and produced a data model for the reporting schema with primary keys, foreign keys and relationships? It would save me a pile of work if I could download the model and import it to SDM?

Restoring Report Repository

Hello,
There was a deletion of a top level folder in our production environment that we want restored. I have exported a backup of files from our Production department to our Dev server. How can export the documents from our prod repository to our dev repository so that the reports can be seen in InfoView?

Just to confirm what happened and what you're asking.
PROBLEM - Someone deleted a top level folder in your PROD environment.
REQUEST - We want that folder that was deleted back.
Hopefully you've been backing up your file store (both input and output) plus your database repository.
I'd look to perform the following...
1. If you don't have a DEV Business Objects environment already install Business Objects on a DEV server.
2. Restore the PROD file store backup (before the delete occurred) to the DEV file store location.
3. Restore the PROD CMC database backup (before the delete occurred) to a DEV location and point your DEV Business Objects at it.
4. Verify that you can sign into your DEV environment and confirm that the folder that was deleted in the PROD environment is now in your DEV environment.
5. Using the Import Wizard in your PROD environment import that folder and objects from DEV to PROD.
I'm not sure why you are asking the following...
"How can export the documents from our prod repository to our dev repository so that the reports can be seen in InfoView?"
Don't you want that top level folder back in your PROD environment?
That's worked for us in the past.

Did you try selecting multiple reports and doing an export. It should create a zip file of all the exports.
I might be wrong and that is only available in a later version but I think it works all the way back to 7.x

How do I install / access / find Crystal Reports Repository for B1 8.81?

What are we attempting to connect to when we try to login to the Repository from Crystal Reports for B1? Is there server software we need to install? Buy? It's supposed to be a simple Access DB from all the CR 9.0 documentation we've read which seems to be the last documentation about this. Something that useful should definitely come with CR. Why can't we find any documentation on enabling or installing the Repository?

it is a separate software, a part of the CR server.
It's not free for SBO as CR is.

And as far as i know your not allowed to use CR for SBO to use the repository, you'll probably will also need a full CR licence.
If you are a VAR, probably a VAR evaluation version is available somewhere.
