  • How to start Report Server automatically in developer suit 10g

    Hi all
I have an application implemented using Developer Suit 10 g forms and reports builder.
For this application, the first report to be printed after booting the computer takes a long time (around 5 minutes)
when printing any more report (even if it was the one printed before ) it takes a little time, this means that the first report made the report server start.
I rebooted the computer, but this time i started the report server manually using this command :
    <strong>rwserver server=report_server_name</strong>
Now, the report is printed after a little time, It's OK.

  • Oracle Report Server 11g Start Automatically

    Dear All
IF you want to start the report server in oracle forms 11g , you must go to this link :
    https://localhopst:Port No/reports/rwservlet/startserver
I want to start the report server automatically as windows service without that step .
    Thanks in advanced

The following can be used to start the managed server (i.e. WLS_REPORTS). Although this will not start the Reports inProc server, it will get the managed server started. A stand-alone rep server can be monitored by opmn and started automatically. See MyOracleSupport note 1126019.1
Refer to the product documentation for more info about Windows Services and working with WLS Managed Servers.

  • How to close report Server?

Is it possible to shut down report-server after closing the Form which started report-server?

Unfortunately, the report designer figures that there has been a change to the report, so it wants to save it. There is nothing you can do in the add-in, or else where to change that. Other than killing the crw32.exe process in the add-in after the add-in saves the report (yuck).

  • Reporting Services will not automatically use a different replica for the report server databases when a failover occurs. How to overcome this issue

Reporting Services offers limited support for using AlwaysOn Availability Groups with report server databases. The report server databases can be configured in AG to be part of a replica; however Reporting Services will not automatically use a different
replica for the report server databases when a failover occurs. How to overcome this issue? is there any workaround for that..
    Rahul

    Hi.
With the AlwaysOn listener you should have a single DNS name to connect to regardless of which cluster node is active. Are you using the listener service? If not, please refer to the link below.

  • When Starting OC4J, why the report server doesn't start automatically? !!

    Dear All,
I have DS 10g on my system and I start the OC4J when I have to run either forms or reports.
But when I attend to start the do the following command from the form:
WEB.SHOWDOCUMENT(..../getjobid<jobid>?server=<servername>...), I have an error: FRM-41213: Unable to connect to the report server <servername>.
I noticed that if I run the following URL:http://<server>:.../reports/rwservlet, it gives me a list of command, but the server still not running..But if I add any command to the above URL like for example "getserverinfo" or "showjobs" then the server is started. Now, and after the command, if we return back and we run the report from the form, the report will run successfully.
    The question WHY??

If you are using Reports Server as an in-process server (the default configuration), sending a run report request starts the in-process server; however, if you are sending a request through a command line, the servlet must be invoked first using either the run report URL or the Web command URL. • SSRS Report Server Could not establish connection. The underlying connection was closed. Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS Secure channel

    Hi
Had to un-install and then re-install MS SQL Server 2012 with SSRS.
After we re-installed we are able to get to the Web Services page but not the Report Server page and get the above error message. We need to use SSL and when we bind the cert in RS Configuration Manager it says it does this successfully on the WebServices
tab. We also do a similar exercise on the ReportServer page.
    Any help warmly welcomed :D
    Thanks

    Hi Rich Whight,
According to your description, after you re-installed SQL Server 2012 with SSRS, you are able to access Web Service URL, but when you tried to access Report Manager URL, the error occurred: The underlying connection was closed. Could not establish trust
relationship for the SSL/TLS Secure channel.
The issue may be caused when the certificate isn't installed correctly in the trusted root for the local computer. To verify and install the certificate, Please refer to the steps blow:
    In RsReportServer.config file(default location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer), change the “SecureConnectionLevel” element value from 0 to 3.
Add correct value to <UrlRoot> element.
Add the same value to the <ReportServerUrl> element as step2.
Go to Microsoft management Console, add the certificate which you use to access the report server under “Trusted Root Certification Authorities”.
For more information about SSL configuration and Managing Trusted Root Certificates, please refer to the following documents:

  • After restart Oracle Report Server some reports start automatically to run.

When our report server is restarted always a number of reports are started automatically.
I don't know why these are started automatically?
Is there a avoid starting these reports?

    Hello,
If you are storing the jobs on the database then please check:
Using the Reports Server Queue PL/SQL Table and API - RW_SERVER_JOB_QUEUE (Doc ID 72531.1)
otherwise just rename the report server .dat files
    1- Go to $ORACLE_HOME/reports/server directory
2- Rename Reports Server dat file.
    Unix example :
    mv reports_server_name.dat reports_server_name.dat.old
3- Try again to start Reports Server
Possible causes of the issue are:
    1.scheduled jobs
    or
2.restart of report server while some jobs were waiting in the queue
    Regards,
    Alex

what might be reason for above issue ?
    Thanks ...

The reports server is not shutting down but rather engines used by the reports server are being stopped and started. A reports engine requests data from the data source, formats the report, sends the output to cache, and notifies the Reports Server that the job is complete. These engines are cycled like connections in a connection pool. You can configure them in the ORACLE_HOME\reports\conf\rwservlet.properties file. Look here for details:

    Hi all,
Can anyone please give me some clues on how to generate reports automatically from report server? e.g. generate daily sales reports on everyday 11:00pm.
    Thank you.

You can use scheduling feature of reports.
You need to give in cmd line
    schedule=schedule_param
Refer in [     Publishing reports to web  - 10G  ] (see link below)
the command line param - "schedule"

  • Automatic reimport of subreports on Crystal Reports Server 2008

    Hi,
if I import a subreport into a report, there is IMHO an option "automatic reimport when opening". Does this work also if I upload both report and subreport to a Crystal Reports Server 2008? If so, on which base does the report find the subreport (relative path, UUID?) ?
    Thanks for information
    Joern

I think if its supported for Crystal Designer then should be supported on Server also.
Also, posting this questions on Crystal Reports forum might give you fast and reliable ans.

  • Automatic SQL Report Server extension installation

    Hi,
I would like to know if there is a good way to automatically install an extension like a delivery extension on a report server.
The reason why I need this is simple: We have integrated the report server into our solution and we want to install our extension alongside our solution. The DLL and its registration is not an issue but adding everything to the configuration files is.
Is there a prepared solution for this or do we have to care about this ourselves?

    Hi guw,
According to your description, you want to Implement custom Extension in SQL Server Reporting Services, you have integrated the report server into the solution and want to know how to modify the configure file to use new extension.
To use custom extension in SQL Server Reporting Services, please refer to the following steps:
    Compile custom code extension.
Copy the Custom extension files to the "PrivateAssemblies" folder.
To use reference in the report, we need to grant the permission for assembly by following steps:
    • Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio10.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies \RSpreviewPolicy.config.
    • Give “FullTrust” for Report_Expressions_Default_Permissions.
    • C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Reporting Services\ReportServer\rssrvpolicy.config
    • Give “FullTrust” for Report_Expressions_Default_Permissions.
Modify rsreportserver.config(default location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\ServerInstance\Reporting Services) to accept the new extension.
For detail information, please refer to the following documents:

  • Crystal Reports Server 2008 dispose not closing document

    Hey everyone,
I;m running some reports through Crystal reports 2008 server (no service packs) using the RAS sdk and Java.
This was working swimmingly for a while until yesterday when the server hosting the RAS and app server fell over. I tracked it down to a problem with the RAS server. The error i got in my logs was General Exception, Report SDK Exception Not enough memory for operation.  I reran the process and when i watched task manager the memory being allocated to crystalras.exe went through the roof! it went from 50k to 1.8g of ram in under 10 minutes.
I tried lots of the other suggestions in here for the errors about memory that are similar to mine (increasing the heap memory etc.) and none of them worked.
One thing i noticed though is that when I run the process and watch the metrics page of the RAS server on the management console the number of Open documents does not decrease even though i am 100% totally and utterly calling .close and .dsipose after every report i open. Definitely. Ive debugged it a million times and it is calling these methods. It is successfully releasing the connections fine but does not seem to releasing the open documents. After the Open documents metric went down to 0 (im presuming after a timeout) the memory that crystalras.exe was reduced. I then  changed the timeout tag in CRConfig.xml to 1 minute to see would this help out any but the open documents did not timeout any faster.
Would i be right in thinking that these open documents would be causing my problem of the aggregated memory? Im at my wits end here so any piece of help is greatly appreciated!

    Hi Ted,
Thank you for getting back to me, i was on vacation there for a while so that is why i didnt get back to you.
When I call reportClientDocument.isOpen() just before i dispose of the report it is true and after i dispose of it it correclty returns false.
I am really stressing out over this as we are reduced to running 500 reports through the server (one after another) and then stopping the process and restarting the RAS server and then running another 500 reports.
crystalras.exe gets up to about 2g of ram consumed for only 500 reports.
I even changed some of the timeout settings on the settings page of the management console to see would they timeout and release the memory but alas it didnt release as much as a byte. I left it for 3 days and it didnt deallocate one piece of memory.
Im currently investigating is there some way from my code that I can restart the RAS server, either through the SDK or through a windows process or scheduled task.
Ted, as far as i can see there are no service packs for Crystal Reports Server 2008, is that right? when i go to the downloads page there only ones listed for release X1.
    Thank you for your help.
    J.
