Report server cann't work

IBM computer
Application server 10.1.2.0.2
When user call report from form by RUN_REPORT_OBJECT procedure,most time work done,Today suddenly cann't run report,raise error
REP-300: OCI_INVALID_HANDLE. ==> SELECT ,then raise error REP-501 Unable to connect to the specified database,but form is ok,only call report from form is not running;
I restart report server, then report can work.I don't find the reason of report's error.
Why the report's server don't work?
How can I deal with the matter?

Crstal Report Server does not working on installation of Crystal Design

Hi,
I had installed Crystal Report Server 2008 on a machine, I was able to login and open the CMC console as well but on installation of Crystal Desing the CMC and inforview are not opening. its displaying some dll file is missing.
Kindly inform whether Server does not work after installation of Design on the same machine.

From long time i am trying to run the report server in Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2 (Production) without Network( IP) configuration.But i did not do it.But
its working fine with IP address.Is it possible to run report server without IP addresss? Help me out thanks in advance.

In rwnetwork.conf in $oh/reports/
- remove or commented the following
<multicast channel="228.5.6.7" port="14021" timeout="1000" retry="3"/>
- And then uncommented
<namingService name="Cos" host="%NAMING_HOST%" port="%NAMING_PORT%"/>
- replace the
%NAMING_HOST% with your computer name or specify an IP address
%NAMING_PORT% with 14021
execute in the command line : namingservice.bat 14021
(To shutdown the namingservice, use : namingservice.bat 14021 shutdown)
try restarting the reports server and test ..

I have installed DeveloperSuite 10g R2 on my laptop and also Oracle 9i database
this URL is wroks fine <http://chirag:8889/reports/rwservlet/getserverinfo?server=cyan> when netwrok cable is plugged !!
when I go to client side and I do not have netwrok cable there
without network connection this URL is fails "http://chirag:8889/reports/rwservlet/getserverinfo?server=cyan"
what can be the issue ?

i face the same problem,and i tried what did you say,but the problem is still there
at first,when i was trying to run a report from the form ,as is always do,i got the error message that "UNABLE TO CONNECT TO THE REPORT SERVER"
it was working correctly before that message.

Oracle Report Server wierd problem

Hi All,
I am facing very wierd problem with oracle report server.
I am using Oracle Report Server 10g R1. The problem I am facing is as under:
There is custom parameter form where user enters report filter criteria and press a button to create the report.
The problem is that report is giving output some times and sometimes it gives no output at all. Both the times, the parameters passed by user are same. The report executions are done for both runs one after other. We have tried to look in report server trace file but could not find anything. When report server fails to give any data in the report, at the same time, we have tried to execute the report query on SQL prompt and it did return data.
Can any one give any hint where the problem could be ?

Hi,
When i used to get only one page the options like facing, continuous facing are disabled. And displays only single page.
These options are enabled only when there are multiple pages in pdf.
One more thing i found that it happens when I first view the report as pdf it displays
all the pages, then i change the display format to csv and again when i change
the format to pdf the problem starts.
And when I will restart the report server service, it works fine again until i wont view it in CSV format.

Crystal Reports Server XI On-demand Subreport does not open

Hi,
I'm using Crystal Reports XI and have a report with two on-demand subreports. In Crystal Designer, both work fine - that is when I click on either on-demand subreport in preview, it opens in another tab.
But in Crystal Reports Server, one subreport works but the other one just opens another tab with the main report. What could be the problem?

I solved it - Both subreports have no name but the one that wasn't working apparently needed a name so I just typed "." (a period) and now it works.

opmnctl startall, report instance cann't run,and the report instance will restart every several minutes,then the form instance will restart following the report instance.
When ias installed in window system,all instances will work,
the same verison ias installed in AIX 5L,then the report install cann't work,why?
Do it need some special config?
The report instance work at same config at some time,one week later report called from form is not done,throw a error rep-300,
but the test.rdf can run in internet explorer address with "http://report_servername:7778/reports/rwservlet?report=test.rdf&destype=cache&desformat=pdf&userid=username/psw@db",
that is say the report instance can work.
How can I solve the problem?

Start report server from forms.

Hello everybody, merry chrismats to all.
Im working with Forms & Developer DevSuite in Red Hat Linux ES/AS.
Sometimes when I call a report from form using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT the report server is up & working but the forms dont find it & say FRM-41213 error, but after trying sometimes it begin to work.
Question : ¿ Is there anyway to start and stop report server from forms ?

Admin4133f Stops the Report Server

Hi,
I am using 9ias 1.0.2.1 on windows NT with oracle 8.1.7.0.0 database. When i tried to install Discoverer Administrator from admin4133f.zip, the Report Server, which was working on default port, stop working and gives the following error while startup :
"The Oracle Reports Server [Rep60_<server>] services returned service specific error 1"
and the result is, Report server is down.
Here i want to share that the D2K, 806 RSF and discoverer administrator's home and path is default_home and <drive>:\orant.
Has anybody faced the same situation.

It is nice to reply myself but in the favour of all, i am sharing this experience :
The installation of Discoverer Administrator was installed in the default_path of D2K and 9ias1021 (806_RSF) path and it gives error in installing some (.dll) files. Then the installation was reverted. Meanwhile this installation has disturbed the registry entry and after repairing the registry database, everything is in order and working perfectly.

Clustering Report Server on 10g

I have one machine installed infrastructure and Middle Tier. I have created a manual report server and it works fine but when the load is more is take more time. I want to create report servers with clusters option. How do i create cluster report does it need 2 server or it is ok with one server.

Well we are trying to run a report without exactly specifying the name of reports server anywhere, e.g. in database or in form or anywhere else. Now if I do not supply a reports server name using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT, the error it displays is FRM-41211: Integration Error : SSL failure ... However if I specify the reports server name in the form, the reports run perfect. Also the name of reports server is specified in rwservlet.properties.
Now the question goes as follows:
Can I run my report from Form without specifying the name of the Reports server anywhere at all. This is so because either an in-process reports server should be picked or the one which is entered in rwservlet.properties should be pickec up by default. Please correct us if we are wrong. once we are through with it, we have to move to Oracle 10gR2 concept of reports server.

Report works on CR Developer XI but not on Crystal Reports Server

I have a crystal report I created in Crystal Reports Developer XI that uses a command. The code is as follows:

I've tested this in SQL directly and it works as expected. Furthermore in Crystal Reports Developer XI it works fine there too. Basically the calculated column reprsented by the code: (convert(varchar(50),product.product_n) ': $' + convert(varchar(50),price_list.unit_price)+ shows up as the following as a sub-parameter for my test example:
Dell 1600 Printer: $125.00
Dell 1600 Printer: $150.00
But once it is published to Crystal Reports Server, it shows up as:
Dell 1600 Printer
Dell 1600 Printer
It isn't combining the columns as expected. This particular sub-parameter is supposed to pull the product name and all the various price list amounts for the particular supplier chosen earlier. I've tried re-publishing it, but to no avail. What am I doing wrong?

I tried to enable Reporting Services through 'Reporting Services Configuration Manager' but I don't seem to have much control from this view. I see two boxes, one named Server Name (and it shows my server name) and the other is named Report Servicer Instance (and this is grayed out). If I click on the Find box next to Server Name, I get this message:

Then, I cut that from my desktop and pasted it in my C-drive and I get a message that says, ‘this folder already contains a file named ‘SQLEXPRADV_x86_ENU.exe’, would you like to replace the existing file?’
I’m thinking…what the heck? Do I already have this thing? If so, why can’t I see SQL Server Reporting Services? Maybe I have it now, and I just don’t know how to access the reporting Services features…

Union All with Linked Servers - Works until loaded on to the report server then fails.

On our production server I have 2 linked servers. One that leads to ServiceNow via ODBC and one that leads to an HP Openview database.
Testing these linked servers works fine. I have a query that obtains info from each source and 'union all' together. When i run this query in SQL Server management studio it works fine and I get info from both data sources union-ed together perfectly.
I transfer this into Visual Studio and create a report, which again runs perfectly.
I upload this report to the report server and try to run it and get the error:
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Query execution failed for dataset 'Dataset1'. (rsErrorExecutingCommand)
For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors
When I rummage through the log files for the report server, I find very little helpful errors, basically this:
ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportProcessing.ReportProcessingException: , Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportProcessing.ReportProcessingException: Query execution failed for dataset 'Dataset1'. ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Cannot
execute the query.
I did a test where I created a copy of the report and ran only he Servicenow section of the report and it works, then ran only the HP section of the report and it works. It seems the UNION ALL is the problem somehow.
Anyone have any ideas??

Hi Kirsty,
As you posted, this issue is caused by the security configuration of Linked Server.
Generally, in a domain environment, we can specify a domain account as the stored credentials for the report, and then configure the Linked Server to "Be made using the login’s current security context".
However,if we specify a SQL Server login as the stored credentials for the report, please set the Linked Server security to "By using this security context", and then providing the necessary credentials to authenticate at the linked server.
Please also add the Reporting Services Security role to the Linked Server Remote Server Login Mappings.
