Report server service not starting up in report 6i
I am trying to start report server service in windows 2000 server but it is not starting
up with following error in event viewer.
The Oracle Reports Server [arun] service terminated with service-specific error 186.
Any clue.
This error generally means there is a problem in the tnsnames.ora file. You are probably missing the needed entry for the Reports Server or the Reports Server name you are using contains special characters.

EPMA server service not started
Hi All,
I installed Hyperion 11.1.2.2 Essbase, Planning, EPMA, Calculation Manager, FDM and HFM in the single machine in windows server 2008 R2.
but i am facing two issues.
1. In services, EPMA Server service not started.
2. In FDM, I am getting error in connecting to Essbase.
Error: Unable to retrieve target system data.
Is any thing, i have to install additionally?

Report Server is not startting
I have installed Oracle 9iAS release 2 on Linux Advanced Server release 2.1AS/i686. Both Infrastructure and mid tier servers are on the same machine. When I see the services through OEM, All services except discoverer, reports and wireless are up. I updated conf file ( Report server) in reports/conf . It is not generating any trace or log file. Please suggest.

the Reports Services is not a process by default but a Servlet. Just try and call a Reports by using http://host:port/reports/rwservlet?report=<name>&userid=<database access>&destpye=cache&desformat=htmlcss¶mform=no
By omitting the server=<report server> parameter the in process server is started and used.

Oracle 10g Report Server is Not Starting Up?

I have installed Oracle 10g Developer Suite (10.1.2.0.2) and OS is Windows 2003 Server R2 SP2 32-Bit, i have run this Command rwserver server = server name start for starting up my report server,it show error message REP-56105: Engine {0} died with error:* and report server status is shutdown.

Now we can see the engine trace also in logs directory. That may throw some light about the issue.

I am new to OAS and am covering for someone on leave. We have a test environment and from the Oracle Enterprise Manager I can see that the Reports Server.Rep_servername_FRHome_1 is down, and remains down having tried to start it. (The system cannot find the path specified) " is a hoax. The path exists upto C:\DOCUME~1\HEATHE~1.ADM\LOCALS~1\Temp\2.
Can anyone please give me some pointers as to what the errors in this trace mean, orwhere else I can look please.

check if the C drive is full...maybe the drive which holds reports temp directory (C:\DOCUME~1\HEATHE~1.ADM\LOCALS~1\Temp\2\..) is full and if so create a directory at some drive or any place and set it in the reports_temp value registry and re-boot ur server.hope it helps:)

Oracle Management Server Service not starting

I have checked all the services are started and database is up but when i am trying to start OMS service "oemctrl start oms" its giving the message..

... the service did not return an error.

Lync Edge Server Service Not Starting
i am having an issue with starting the "Lync Server Audio/Video Edge" service on my lync edge server. when i try to start the service it throws the following error..
"The Lync server audio/video edge service on local computer started and than stopped. some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs."
than in the event viewer logs there are 2 specific errors i can see that look like the following..
what is stopping me from fixing this right away is that i havent changed anything in my configuration, seems to have broke on its own. i can post more errors i have found in other places as well if needed. any help is greatly appreciatedhey sean, thanks for your response. all things point to something else using port 443 right now.. however from what i can see from a netstat command it doesnt look like anything new is running on it. here is a copy/paste of my most recent netstat command..

Could not start the Crystal Report Application Server service on local computer

Hi
I have a following problem.
I have installed Crystal report application server(RAS)(CE embeded 10) on Windows server 2003 enterprise x64 edition.
When i start it, i see an error:
Could not start the Crystal Report Application Server service on local computerError 1067: the process terminated unexpectedly
Sometimes, i can start it but it stops a few minutes later.
I have disabled DEP (data execution prevention).
Log:
Faulting application crystalras.exe, version 10.0.0.533, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000.

Thanks for your helpThis error occurs after an initial install, when the Oracle suite is installed logged in as the user(who has admin rights on the machine). If this is the case,
1.Go to Services (Admin Tools > Services)
2.Double click the Oracle services( BI Server or Presentation or TNS Listener).
3.Go to Log On tab
4.If local system account is checked , un-check that option. Check "This Account" option
5.Give the user information for that machine(e.g domain\username)
6.Specify password associated with the user ( the username/pwd that is used to login to the machine)
7.Confirm pwd and click Apply.
8.re-start the service.
This is what i did , and it worked.
good luck and hopefully oracle addresses these issues , they become frustrating to use the product.

In windows event log:
On 12/15/2014 6:39:28 PM, component SMS_SRS_REPORTING_POINT on computer S-HUB-SQL1 reported: The report server service is not running on Reporting Service Point server "S-HUB-SQL1"; start the service to enable reporting.
In configuration manager service manager, the service sms_srs_reporting_point is running.
In Reporting services configuration manager, the service is running.
If I restart the reporting service, it doesn't helps.
What is not properly?I've already found the reason why all stopped working - someone deleted the report manager URL HTTPS bindings (in Report services configuration manager). Added it back, than reporting started to work. Awww!

Error Starting Report Server Services
Hey all
I have Install 9iAS it was working fine but When I Restart server mechine Report services unable to start
Give error:-
"Windows could not start the ORacle Reports Server [Rep60_ORA] on local Computer.
for more information, review the system Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft Service,
Contact the service vendor, and refer to service-secific error code 186."

ThanksI think your newly created report90 listens on the same port as your old rep60 service. Uninstall this service and install rep60 with a different port number or let reports 90 use a different port number

In Reporting Services, values for LogonUser, LogonDomain, and LogonCred are created when the report server connection is configured to use a domain account. As to the error that “The encrypted value for the "LogonCred" configuration setting cannot be decrypted”,
we can know that it relates to the domain account for report server connection.
To fix this issue, we can refer to the following steps:
Log in to SQL Server Database Engine in SQL Server Management Studio.
Under Security folder, give sufficient permissions for your domain account.
Open your Reporting Services Configuration (go to Start -> All Programs -> Microsoft SQL Server 2005 -> Configuration Tools -> Reporting Services Configuration)
Navigate to the Database Setup tab, select ‘Service Credentials’ as the Credentials Type, then type your domain account and password in there. Press Apply.
Restart the Report Server services.

Oracle report server service returned service specific error 271
I setup Report 6i to start automatically as NT service in WinNT 4.0 server. Encountered the msg "The oracle report server <server name> service returned service specific error 271".

Only thing I can think of is that the User log-in may not have the priviledge to start a serice or some other OS related problem. Or check that you do not have any other service running under same name / or the same port. Workaround would be to use following command to start the Report server:
rwmts60 -listen "server_tns_name"You need to add an entry for the Report server in TNSNAMES.ORA file. Infact for first case also, please check is you have right entry in tnsnames.ora for the Reports Server service.
