  • Report ID94 specific software registered with Add or Remove Programs = requested software not listed

    Hi All,
Our company uses SCCM 2007 and we don't really have an SCCM officer here. I kind of try to get things done by googling a lot but for this i can't find a a solution so i open a thread.
I'm a newbie to SCCM 2007 so I don't know if i'm about to ask a dumb question but here I go.
I'm trying to pull out a report for the count of computers that run a desktop version of our Ticketing Tool.
I found the perfect standard report for this in SCCM 2007 which is: Count of instances of specific software registered with Add or Remove Programs.
in there i have to set two values: 1) the software that i'm willing to count, 2) the collection in which to search.
for value number 2 I have no problems.
my problem is in value number 1. When I click the value button to list all known software, he lists all software in a alphabetic way. problem is that it stops at letter "I"... the software i'm looking for starts with an O so it's not listed.
also if I type the software and then click Values... it replies that it couldn't find the software.
    am I doing something wrong?

it sound like you are using the filter option with in the old and "crappy" ASP reports. first you should stop using then and only  use the SSRS reports. secondly the filter option will only show the first 1000 rows, there is a reg key to
    allow it to show more.

  • Update showing up in "Compliance 5 - Specific Computer" Report even after removing the update from the Software Update before creating Group and Package

So I've created a Software Update Group and I did NOT want anything in there dealing with Internet Explorer 11 since the organization is currently stuck at using 10 as the highest. So I made sure that Internet Explorer was NOT in the list and then I deployed
    the package.
After running my Overall Compliance report it shows that the systems are compliant, but when I view the "Compliance 5 - Specific Computer" I see that "Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems" is listed in the report.
This is just a testing phase right now and I have not created a WSUS like Domain level GPO. I understand that the SCCM client creates a local policy on the clients for the location of the Software Update Point (Specify
Intranet Microsoft update service location), but the "Configure Automatic Updates" policy is set to Not Configured, which it looks like when this
is set, the "Install updates automatically (recommended)" at 3AM is the default.
Is the reason why the "Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems" update is showing up in the list due to the fact that the "Configure
Automatic Updates" policy is set to Not Configured
and therefore it is still reaching out to check Windows Update online?
So, if I do create a Domain level GPO to Disable the "Configure
Automatic Updates" policy, then the "Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems" update would not show up in the "Compliance 5 - Specific Computer" report?
By the way, I have a Software Update Maintenance Window configured for the hours of 1AM-4AM so the 3AM default time falls within this time frame, therefore, I am assuming the SCCM 2012 client will not allow the Windows Update Agent to install the "Internet
Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems" update, even though it has detected it is "Required".
    Thanks

But, don't you need a Deployment Package in order to deploy the Software Update Group? The Software Update Group uses the downloaded updates contained in the Deployment Package located in, wherever the Package Source is, right?
One more quick question that you will know right off hand, because, well, you just will I'm sure.
No. The software update group really has nothing to do with any update packages. The update group assigns updates to clients and in turn clients use update packages to download assign and applicable updates from. There is no connection between the two though
as the client can download an update from any available update package. Thus, it's more than possible to updates in an update package that are not in any update groups and it is also possible for an update to be in an update group without being in any update
    package.
If the "Configure Automatic Updates" policy is set to "Not Configured" and since this keeps the 3AM Automatic Updates default, if I was to remove the Software Update Maintenance Window from being between 1AM-4AM, will the WUA agent install updates
at 3AM, or no because the SCCM 2012 client still manages and oversees it and basically blocks that from occurring?
No, ConfigMgr does not in any way block the WUA; however, the WUA can only autonomously install updates it downloads directly from WSUS. Thus, since there are no updates approved or downloaded in your WSUS instance, there's nothing for it to download and
install. If you happen to actually be going into WSUS and approving updates (which you should not be doing as its unsupported), then yes, it actually would install updates -- this is outside of ConfigMgr's control though. Generally, disabling the WUA via a
GPO is the recommended to prevent any accidental installations or reboots (as the WUA wil also check for initiate pending reboots outside of ConfigMgr).

  • Limit 'Specific computer' report to a Software Update Group

I'm trying to get the SCCM 2012 report 'Compliance 5 - Specific computer' limited to an updae group rather than reporting against every applicable patch.
In the environment I'm working in we are only interested in reporting on compliance against an agreed list of 'released' updates (we don't release all updates to our server estate). When you start reporting with the 'Compliance 1  - Overall compliance'
we can select our 'master' software update group here and get the correct compliance status. We can then drillthrough these status into the next report, 'Compliance 7' and the update group is passed through into this report along with the collection and relevant
    status.
However when we drillthrough to the next report, 'Compliance 5 - Specific computer', the update group is not passed through or used in this report so we get a compliance status for the specific computer against every update. I want to use the update group
in the last report to limit what's returned here.
Can anyone help with this? I'm lacking the SQL expertise to be able to add the relevant code to the last report.

I think you're looking for the Compliance 3 - Update group (per update) report. In this report you can select an update group and a collection and the report will return the compliance data of that combination.

The report 'Compliance 3..' is a summary report for each patch against a collection. This is completely different from I'm trying to achieve which is a detailed breakdown of compliance against each patch in an update group for a specific computer.

  • Updates installed but SCCM 2012 says non-compliant - Compliance 5 - Specific computer report

    Hi,
I hope someone has an answer.
When I use the compliance report "Compliance 5 - Specific computer report" I've noticed that some updates need to be installed, but when I check the server the updates are already installed.
This issue occurs for several servers.
Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong?
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards,
    Roberto

    Hi,
Have you checked the status of the deployment that contains the updates need to be installed?

  • COM Add-in Program Required to run XL Reporter

    Dear All,
When I am Opening New (RG23A Part 1) Report in XL Reporter, System giving bellow Error
A Required COM Add-in Program XL Reporter has not been loaded and Prohibits Microsoft Excel from running.
I facing this Error on Server & One Client Also
Operating System on Server = Windows Server 2008 R2 edition 64 bit
Operating System on Client = Windows XP SP 2 - Excel 2003
    I am using SAP B1 8.8 PL15
    Thanks,
    Siddique Shaikh

This is the SAP solution to this error, try all steps and it should be resolved.
When we open XL Reporter we get an error
message "A required COM add-in program for XL Reporter has not been loaded
and prohibits Microsoft Excel from running." when trying to open a report
    definition.
    SOLUTION FOR THE PROBLEM:
    Reason and Prerequisites
You need to be an administrator on the local machine to add COM add-ins.
    Solution
The user should be added as a member of the administrator role on the
local computer the first time you start Excel from XL Reporter the first
time so that the COM addin are registered, then you can remove the user
    from the administrator group again.
Manually Loading the XL Reporter Excel COM Add-In
    Symptom
If you install Microsoft Office after installing the XL Reporter
application or use another Windows user than the one you used when
installing XL Reporter, you can get an error message.
    Reason and Prerequisites
The reason for this is that the report writer COM Add-in has not been
loaded, which prohibits Microsoft Excel from running.
    Solution
    1. Start Microsoft Excel. If you already have the COM Add-ins command on
the Tools menu, go to step 7.
    2. In the Tools menu, choose Customize.
    This opens the Customize window.
    3. Choose the Commands tab and select Tools from the Categories pane on
    the left.
    4. In the Command pane on the right, scroll down to the COM Add-ins
    command.
    5. Select the COM Add-ins command, hold down the mouse button, and drag
COM Add-ins from the Commands pane over to the Tools menu on the Microsoft
Excel men bar. When the Tools menu commands appear, point to where you
want the COM Add-ins command to appear on the menu and release the mouse
    button.
    6. To close the Customize window, choose Close.
    7. On the Tools menu, choose the new COM Add-ins option.
This opens the COM Add-ins window.
    8. In the window, choose Add to open the Add Add-in window.
9.Select the IXXLReporter.dll file located in the Client directory in the
XL Reporter program installation area and choose OK.
    10. In the COM Add-ins window, select the XL Reporter checkbox and choose
    OK.

  • XL reporter error-requried COM add-in program for XL reporter has not ben l

    Dear All,
I am getting this error could anyone please let me know the solution:
"A requried COM add-in program for XL reporter has not been Loded and prohibuit Microsoft Excel from running.

    Hi,
try to use the solution from the SAP note 893307:
XLR - Activation of Other Microsoft Excel Add-Ins
    Symptom
When Microsoft Excel is launched from within the XL Reporter application, other add-ins selected in Microsoft Excel's Add-Ins window are not automatically loaded into Microsoft Excel upon start.
    Other terms
    XLR, Business One, Addins, deactivated
    Reason and Prerequisites
When Microsoft Excel is started through Automation (COM), Add-ins are not loaded by default. This is by design and XL Reporter follows this behaviour.
The following is a workaround solution that is avalible in SAP Add-On XL Reporter 2004 SP02 patch 2 and SAP Add-On XL Reporter 2005 SP00 patch 1 and subsequent releases.
    Solution
If you need to have other add-ins automatically loaded upon start, a workaround solution is now possible:
In the Microsoft Registry Editor on your client machine, change the following settings in your system registry: in the registry tree underHKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/iLytix/XLReporter/Settings/SBOOEM, add a key with the following name: StartExcelAddins. The key can have two values: the value, 1, which activates other add-ins upon start, and the default value, 0, which leaves the other add-ins inactivated.
Incorrectly editing the registry may damage your system. System registry changes should therefore only be performed by an advanced user who is prepared to both edit and restore the registry. For details about the system registry, please refer to Microsoft Registry Editors help system
if not solve yet, just let me know

  • Windows 2000 prof. I noticed that I have both versions 3.6 and 6.02 installed when i checked the this in the add/remove program in the control panel. Can i remove the v3.6?

I have windows 2000 professional operating system version 5.0.2195 service pack 4 build 2195. I usually logged on as "user1". When i clicked on firefox it will try to install update but will return a message that update cannot be installed "please make sure that there are no other copies of firefox running on your computer". But there are no other copies of firefox running.
I checked the add/remove program in the control panel and found out that I have ver3.6.10 and ver6.0.2 installed.
Can i remove the ver3.6.10 using the uninstall button in the add/remove program?
Another problem is that I cannot logged in as "administrator".
When i logged in as "administrator" the computer just shut down and restart by itself while loading my desktop icons.

    The normal method is simply
    * Help -> Check for Updates
    on Firefox (Window XP)
    * see also [[Updating Firefox]]
You should be able to delete Firefox and remove it, from your Windows XP control panel although that may not be what you intend.
If you have doubts about compatibility stay with Firefox3.6 for now.
Some software extensions will currently have problems with firefox 4 (and that iircc may include some versions of silverlight )
Do NOT use any delete settings (or whatever it is worded) that will loose all your passwords and bookmarks.
BTW the safe mode in relation to Firefox is a totally different concept from Windows safe mode, but you probably have no need to use either of them.
    * see also [[Safe Mode]]
On an ordinary upgrade Firefox will preserve your profile details which include bookmarks any passwords.
You should have no problems in installing Firefox 4. You should be able to install firefox 4, and retain any bookmarks etc that were used in firefox 3.6, but sometimes extensions may be incompatible.

  • HT201272 How do I add songs to iCloud from my computer if I previously removed them?

I'd previously taken my music out of iCloud because of a syncing problem with my old iPod Classic. Now that I've upgraded to an iTouch, I want to put all of my music back into iMatch from my Mac Mini. Only my most recent purchases are showing up on my Touch. I've tried turning iMatch off and then on again. What can I try next? Thx!

When you connect the ipod and are prompted to erase and sync....just click cancel.  Then click the ipod name below devices in the itunes source pane.  From the ipod summary screen you want to check manually manage music and videos under the options tab.  Apply the changes and you are now set to manually sync.  Which means you just drag and drop the music you want to sync to your ipod below devices in the itunes source pane.   Refer to this for more detailed instructions:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1535

  • How do you remove error 0X00000709 from your computer? I just removed one printer and added another!

I have a HP Pavilion Elite HPE computer and had an HP 6500 printer as my default.  I purchased a LaserJet Pro CM1415 and loaded it into my computer and removed (I thought) was the software for the HP 6500.
However when I try to make the CM1415 my default it gives me an error 0X00000709 and tells me I can not do it.  I no longer have any other printer listed, however I noticed some programs (Adobe for instance) don't even recognize the new printer, just the 6500 which got removed.  I have already removed the drivers (software) for the new printer and reloaded it. Also I checked the registry and the 6500 is listed there.  I did nothing with the registry at this time.
I would like to know how I can remove this error and make my new printer the default (only one listed) one?  Thanks in advance for any and all answers

  • Is there a query to find all software installed on a particular computer through the Add/Remove Programs?

I am looking for a query to find all software on a specific computer. I have found several on a specific piece of software but I need multiple pieces of software. I have tried creating this query but it shows ALL the software on the computer. I'm looking
for one that narrows it down to a few pieces of software i.e Office, Adobe, Snagit, IE and Chrome. Possibly using Add/Remove Software?

It's an asset intelligence report, do you have that enabled?
