Report title on the PDF file generated by Braodcaster tool

Hello All - We are using "Broadcast by Email(Bursting)" feature to burst reports by Customer.  Customer is the Characteristic value by which we are bursting.  Also Email address is attribute of Customer so we are sending the reports to their email addresses.  The data is broken by each customer and the report content is fine.  The problem I am having is Heading of the report.  I want to have the heading by customer ie have customer name.  I have this maintained as master data of Customer.  Any idea how I can find the heading dynamically without having to have broadcast settings for each customer and hardcoded Heading.
thanks for you help.

hi
I have managed a similar issue putting text variables with replacement path in the query title.
Your texts variables are populated dynamically depending on the variables values typed.
for instance I had to give the week interval in the title based on the range the users key.
the drawback that is not a real one is that your query title come with the name of the query and the variable technical name something like : myquery &variablename&
here for you case you could create a text variable with replacement path on customer at the query properties level.
this should work.

Boujema

  • Where is the PDF file generated by the form submit?

I am designing a form with Adobe Acrobat Pro X that will be filled in on the web. So I've got a Submit button on it set to Submit a form, being sent to a URL (an html file), and I have checked (under Export Format) PDF The complete document.
So where is this exported PDF file once a user has submitted the filled-in form?
How can my html file find this PDF file?
I don't see where you define the location for these PDF files to go. I haven't been able to find a repository with these PDF files in them. And I can't find any info on the web.

    Thanks - yes, that's right.
I've been working on php code to get the data sent by the form, save it to a file and send an email with the file as an attachment.
If I set the form submit button in the AA form to send the data in fdf format, the php file only seems to get header info. If I send using pdf format, it gets pages and pages of code and symbols. Nothing I can parse.
Can't figure out how to save these pages and pages of code and symbols to a file and not very confident that if I did manage to and send them as an email attachment that they would ever reformat themselves to become a readable PDF.
All I want to do is send the filled-out form as a PDF attachment to an email. I don't care about the fields or the data - I just want the PDF.
And, no, I don't want to use the submit form to email feature because it is clunky.

  • When I pull up the PDF file and got to tools there is no "Form" to edit etc to try and make a fillable form

When I pull up PDF in Adobe Acrobat to make an existing form a fillable PDF form under "Tools" there is no "Form" area that comes up?

Yes, I have this exact same issue. It happens almost every day but other times it works fine. I haven't tried the speaker thing yet so will try that next time to see if I can at least talk to them somehow. Mine is an iPhone 5
If anyone knows the cause or how to stop it, I'd really appreciate it!

  • Where is a PDF file, generated by Agent (BIEE11g), stored?

    Hi,
In BIEE11g, I created an Agent for scheduling to generate PDF files from Analysis.
In tab: "Delivery Content", I choose PDF in field "Format", and BIEE will automatically chooise option "Deliver as attachment".
At the same time, in tab: "Destinations", I just choose "Home Page and Dashboard" for field: "User Destinations".
After scheduling time, an Alert is generated, and there is data and graph embedded in the content of the Alert. However, I don't find any URL for downloading PDF file. I want to make use of BIEE Agent that so that I can keep snapshot data for the report.
Anyone know where where is the PDF file, generated by Agent (BIEE11g), stored?
    Thanks

A nice way to achieve this is to export the reports to the server's filesystem using the Actions tab > Invoke Server Script. On a Windows server you can write a little VBScript or Javascript and pass it the PDF file which then gets saved to disk. I have some code if you are interested - contact me via my blog.

  • Empty CreatorDate field in PDF files generated by Report 6i on Windows 7

When generating a PDF file from Reports 6i on Windows 7, the CreatorDate in the PDF file header is empty.
Even worse: its opening parenthesis "(" is not closed. See example here below.
This generates several problems with Adobe Reader 10 like:
    - text searching does not work although you can select text and do a copy paste,
    - File/Properties does not work (nothing happens when selecting this menu item),
    - File/Save As PDF generates the Adobe Reader error "The document could not be saved. There was a problem reading this document (114)."
We do not have this issue with Windows XP.
    Any idea?

  • Run big report in PDF hangs though the PDF file was created in server

When running Oracle reports6i big master-details-details report(220 pages) in PDF format thru report server CGI on Netscape Enterprise Web server, it hangs. But the pdf file was created when checking in the server and is good when it's viewed directly using IE. Also checked the http://domain_name:8083/cgi-bin/reportcgi/showjobs?server=repsrv, the Job Status was 'FINISHED'.
The HTTP_error_Log in the server is:
[17/Feb/2004:13:31:42] failure (28995): for host 63.237.37.70 trying to POST /cgi-bin/reportcgi, cgieng_scan_headers reports: the CGI program /usr/netscape/elecprod/cgi-bin/reportcgi did not produce a valid header (read failed, error is Resource temporarily unavailable).
Please help as our users demand it urgently.
    Thanks a lot.

    1) This bug734197 is fixed in version 3.0.5.13.0, which means it should be available in 6i (the version you are using) also. But from the bug description I see that it is reproduced with Reports 6.0.5.28.0 version also. If your reports 6i version is higher than this, it may contain this fix. Best thing is to apply the latest patch. The patches should be available in metalink (metalink.oracle.com) .
    2) For troubleshooting purposes run the report in html/rtf and see whether it times out. ( just to see whether
this is a PDF specific issue)
    3) Disable acrobat web integration (in Adobe acrobat settings) and try . This will prevent Acrobat reader from opening the pdf automatically and instead will show a dialog to save the pdf report ( There are some IE - Adobe issues which are not reports bugs).
    4) There were some threads some time back which had this problem with long running reports and PDF. Finally it turned out to be webserver timeout problems. Pls see ( this is for 9i servlet and Apache webserver, but for 6i also it could be similar)
Re: Long running reports end successfully - present s "page can not be foun
    5) If these does not work and if you are not able to make further progress, I suggest you to get in touch with Oracle Support (if you have a support contract) to solve this issue. [ If the possibility is that the bug you are mentioning is not pushed forward to 6i (a remote chance) then only they will be able to a get a oneoff patch.]
    Thanks

  • No pdf file generated

Hello, i use Acrobat XI Standard and i can't generate pdf-files from autocad in A0, A1 and A2 format via the pdf printer. I have created the user-defined page-layouts for the A0, A1 and A2 format, since these are not available as standard formats in acrobat. If i create a pdf file in A3 or A4 format everything works fine but in A0, A1 and A2 format, no pdf file is generated. Autocad reports that printing hasbeen succesfully completed and also the printer queue brings no error message but in the end there is no pdf file in the output folder. I have tried every possibility and even the phone support of adobe could not help me. The last thing i tried is to generate the pdf file without autocad. I clicked on the dxf file with the right mouse button and the choosed "convert into adobe pdf". Then the error message "Missing pdf maker file. Do you want to start the repair mode of the installation program?" came up. I startet the repair mode and it finished with no error message but the problem has not been solved. So if anywhone has an idea how to solve my problem, please help me. Thank you.

It is not a standard feature of Acrobat Standard, but i have created the user-defined page-layouts for A0, A1 and A2 and the adobe support told me that i proceeded the right way. Also the handbook says that paper sizes of 38.100.000 cm x 38.100.000 cm can be defined if the printer settings-menu includes the option "user-dedined page-layouts". I can't believe that pdf files in A0, A1 and A2 format can't be generatet with acrobvat standard since this is possible with every freeware. Why did I buy this expensive program if every free software can create A0, A1 and A2 page-layouts?

All you need to do - is that you should use the column data type as Long Raw.Why would you recommend using LONG RAW which has been deprecated in favour of BLOB for years?
You can find a simple example of inserting a file into a BLOB column using JDBC here. The Oracle JDBC docs are also worth a read. Find out more.
