Report within CJ30 and CJI5 must be equal

HI all,
when running report cj30 in a specific project, "assigned" tab in object currency for 2011 shows $7,114,889.30 while report CJI5 for 2011 commitments for the same project shows a total of $6,194,289.30. according to the user The two amounts should be the same. The difference is $920,600 which can be seen as the balance of NTW 5001631. This PO 4500125119 was recently amended (split over 2010 and 2011) and it seems as though it is now being double-counted in the CJ30 calculation.
please advice how this has happened. Also, is the CJ30 assigned tab report the same as the CJI5 report?

CJI5 provides only a part of your CJ30 assigned values.Please try to read some SAP documentation to understand the concept of assigned values and try to explain your client.I believe that your system is showing the right figures.

The problem is the /FontName of the FontDescriptor contains "Times#20New#20Roman".
In the pdf spec i read:
BaseFont: "The PostScript name of the font. For Type 1 fonts, this is always the value of the FontName entry in the font program"
FontName: "The PostScript name of the font. This name shall be the same as the value of BaseFont in the font or CIDFont dictionary that refers to this font descriptor."
=> Thus the BaseFont and the FontName must have the same value?
=> Is that "#20" (= a blank?) even allowed inside the FontName?

I just recognized that in the PDF a TrueType Font is used.
According to the spec it says:
"The value of BaseFont is derived differently.
The PostScript name for the value of BaseFont may be determined in one of two ways:
If the TrueType font program's “name” table contains a PostScript name, it shall be used.
In the absence of such an entry in the “name” table, a PostScript name shall be derived from the name by which the font is known in the host operating system. On a Windows system, the name shall be based on the lfFaceName field in a LOGFONT structure; in the Mac OS, it shall be based on the name of the FOND resource. If the name contains any SPACEs, the SPACEs shall be removed.
- What is the program's "name" table? Does it mean the "name" attribute of the font dictionary?
- And it seems that the spaces shall be removed...

PS Report : Strange behaviour S_ALR_87013542 and CJI5

The bottom line total figure In CJI5 ("Val/CO Area") for All PO's assigned to a WBS and S_ALR_87013542 ("Commitments") on a WBS match exactly - in same period.
But strangely the bottom line total figure In CJI5 ("Plan val. Currency" ) DO NOT MATCH with the bottom line total figure of "Total" of S_ALR_87013542 . Infact the value is showing more in CJI5.
Can someone explain the reason for this behaviour.

I'm not using the valuated stock, and yes all the configuration already checked.
First, in the PO, we key the date and invoicing plan (depends on the termijn), If we want to do
invoice (MIRO), we need to do the unblocking the invoicing plan in the PO (invoice tab in po)
after that, create invoice reference to PO. if this steps are followed.. we still can see the outstanding amount of PO in the report. (_ALR_87013558 and CJI5).
If user didn't do the unblocking the invoicing plan in the PO,.. and directly do the invoice (MIRO)
reference to PO, Invoice still can be created.. However, we cannot see the outstanding amount of the
PO, if user do the invoice without unblocking the invoicing plan.
Please any advice wiil be helpful..

I second John's link. I recommend to read through the installation guide. Which version of forms you looking to install, Forms 11gR1 or Forms 11gR2 (latest)? Also what type of system is this?
To summarize up the installation document, heres what you need to do to install latest version (11gR2):
1.) Download Install Files:
WebLogic *10.3.5*: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/wls-main-097127.html
Forms 11.1.2: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/downloads/index.html
2.) Install WebLogic (No Node Manager)
3.) Install and Configure Forms 11.1.2
4.) You completed a vanilla WLS+Forms installation
5.) (Optional) Install Node Manager After installation is complete.

Unable to schedule a report to email and print

I have been working on a task to both print and email a report to recipients whose email addresses are obtained at runtime. So far I am able to email the report as a PDF attachment, however, I am not able to get the report to print. I have three thoughts as to why the report is not printing.
1. The printer is in a subdomain under the domain where InfoView and the Enterprise server reside.
2. It is not possible to schedule a report for both an SMTP and print destination simultaneously.
3. The format is causing an issue in printing - the SDK API states "Printer is a report format specific destination and can only be used when the report object is a Crystal Report."
I have looked at the scheduled report in InfoView and can see that the print settings I am passing are correctly set for the scheduled instance. Does anyone know if there is a problem with trying to schedule printing and email at the same time, or if the report format must be .rpt?

Hi Jason,
Based on your code, I could not tell if you were scheduling a Crystal Report or a WebI document.
Regardless, what I would suggest is you try scheduling the report/document on InfoView.
Once you schedule it on InfoView, you can retrieve the instance on Query Builder (or through code) and compare the properties that are being set through InfoView and the one you set through your code.
This should indicate if you are missing some properies or have set some properties incorrectly.

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

Nesting reports/report within report/Recursive reports!

This one's really annoying - Can I or can i not nest one report within another?? I have got a really complex report which I want to embed into another and don't want to go through the hassle of rebuilding it in the parent!! Here's what I am trying to do -
I am trying to create a recursive report. I have got a database which has a
table called Outlet and it has several directly or indirectly related child
tables. I have created a report to show these details for a single Outlet.
Now the issue I have is one Outlet can have several child outlets. Basically a
one to many relationship on the same table. I want to display the exact same
details which I displayed for the parent outlet - for each of the child outlet
for the parent.
And each of the child outlet in turn can have more child outlets. So
essentially I want to recurse into the same data model and layout model twice.
So conceptually I want to create a reusable report which I can call from
another report but this report must be displayed in a frame of the parent
report.
Any suggestions as to how I can do this without physically creat9ing three
levels of datamodel and layout model?
I am running the parent from command line and need the output in a single RDF file?

Create a report that shows all the details you want, then group it by ModelName. In the section expert, hide the detail line. When you preview the report you will only see the group name, and when you click it a new report will open showing the details for that group.

Error while scheduling Crystal Report within CMC with Destination as Email

I have added a Crystal Report within the CMC. Before scheduling it, I have specified the Destination as Email and entered the necessary details. After scheduling it, the Report Instance gives a Failure with Error Message as -
destination DLL disabled.CrystalEnterprise.Smtp

Hi,
go to the CMC and invoke the server list under Servers. Locate the entry for the Crystal Reports Job Server, select it and invoke the context menu using the right mouse button. Select Destination and add Email in the list of the possible delivery options. Configure the connection data for your SMTP server and restart the Crystal Report Job Server.

You need to close Exel when before your VI is running. Excel can not have two instances running at the same time.

Report Server 6i and Portal 3.0

I read through several white papers including "Security Tips in Oracle Reports Services Release 6i with Oracle Portal Release 3.0" and tried to start Reports server with no success but maybe I'm misunderstanding how it works. So I have the following questions:
1. We are running reports server on the same server as Oracle Portal and do not have any printers assign to this W2K server which is outside our fire wall. Will Reports server start with no printers assigned? I read out on metal link in Note: 109399.1 "It is no longer necessary to have the reports server service running on an account having a printer installed."
2. We only have port 80 open for the apache web listener. However the tnsnames.ora file requires an entry for the report server with a port=1949. Does this port need to be open?
3. Do you know how I can check to see which ports are available on W2K? Which are being used? IS there a dos command?
4. Is Report Server required to run Oracle Reports 6i through Portal 3.0 with SSO?

1 - There is still a bug pending on this, so you may need to assign a default printer. This may be your issue of why you are unable to get the reports server running.
2 - No, port 1949 is only used between the reports cgi/servlet and the reports server. The communication between the client and the reports cgi/servlet is done on the http you are using (in your case, port 80).
3 - Don't know of any such utility or dos command to find our which ports are in use or available.
4 - Yes, you must have the reports server running to run Oracle Reports 6i through Portal 3.0. 6i is not using sso.

But the service crashes after some/many reports (e.g. after 270 reports or after 1.400 reports). There is no fix number of reports that causes the service to crash.

Unfortunately, it is not a piece of code that I can send. The SQL would be embedded inside Oracle Reports tool, and you would have the option to save the output of the report in PDF format.
Once you have the Oracle Report developed, you can execute it from command line prompt and save the output to a pdf file. In your case, the cursor would be embedded inside Oracle Report

Apex Report Very Slow And Aborts

I am using Apex 2.2.1 and have created a report region in which I retrieve upto 1500 rows in a report. The underlying report query is a function returning a SELECT statement in which search criteria are made part of the SELECT only if the user has actually typed-in any values for the search criteria fields on the Apex region.
I also have a "Display" drop down list populated by a hard-coded LOV. Users can select the number of rows desired in the report by choosing one of: "10", "20",
"50", "100", "200", "500", "1000", "5000" from the drop down.
I've set the following fields in the "report Section":
"Report Template" set to Template: 10. Standard
"Show NULL Values as" set to empty
"Pagination Scheme" set to Row Ranges 1-15 16-30 in select list (with pagination)
"Display Position" set to Top and Botton - Left
"Number Of Rows" set to empty
"Number Of Rows (Item)" set to P13_ROWS - this is my Display select list
"Maximum Row Count" set to 5000
"Strip HTML" set to YES
The underlying query is not calling any PLSQL functions. It is basically a SELECT
from a view which is itself a join between two tables. One of these tables has
1500 rows (each row has 25 columns) while the other has 251000 rows. I am
selecting one column from this second table.
Both tables have indexes on the columns used as search criteria and both tables
and their indexes have been analyzed via DBMS_STATS on Oracle 10gR2. The
PARALLEL option is NOT enabled on any of these tables or indexes.
When I run the underlying query (that results from my report function) in SQLPLUS,
it returns all 1500 rows in under 2 seconds.
When I run the report in Apex (with out any search criteria), the following occurs.
When the Display drop down is set to "10", the report returns 10 rows within 1 second.
When Display = "50", the time takes about 3 seconds.
When Display = "200", it takes 10 seconds.
When Display = "500", the report "sits there" for over 30 seconds and then
literally aborts. The only error message I get is that the "operation could not
be completed". There is no ORA error message. I checked with our DBA
and there is nothing in the Oracle server Alert Log. I appended &p_trace=YES
to my report url and ran the resulting trace file through TKPROF. All looks good.
What is causing this report to abort and to take so terribly slow?
It appears to be somehow associated with the "Display" drop down list value,
but I'm puzzled as to why. As mentioned, the report query in SQLPLUS runs
to completion in under 2 seconds.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried the pagination scheme "Row Ranges X to Y (with next and previous links)".
This caused the same problem - my page aborts with the error message:
"Internet Explorer cannot open the Intenet site https://oraweb.slac.stanford.edu/apex/slacprod/f?p=116:13:439623456781::NO:::
Operation aborted"
I even removed pagination altogether and still got the same error.
Futhermore, it is sporadic. At times I invoke the report with 500 rows and it
displays without problem. And then, 5 seconds later, I run the re-run the report (again asking to display 500 rows), and it aborts.
This report worked without error (it was "slow", but worked) two weeks ago. But now, it is failing. My gut feeling is that my problem lies with out Oracle
Application Server. I have the feeling that our DBA's have changed some
sort of configuration (a buffer, perhaps) that is causing my problem. Not sure
about this. I guess I'm reaching for straws at this point.
